File explorer WiFi transfer - Amazfit

Hi
does anyone have the file explorer WiFi transfer working on their PACE ? I installed the apk on both my phone and the watch and watched the youtube video several times but cant get mine to connect.
I choose the "access from.." option on the watch, connected to WiFi and started the service and noted the IP address and port. I then open up the app on my phone and choose the "remote" option followed by FTP option and then add a remote location. When adding the remote location I add the IP address and port. There is a space for username and password but I don't know what to put in there ? I tried just leaving those blank and choosing anonymous but it didnt connect.
I see on the youtube video for this that the uploader already has a FTP location created with username and password populated but doesnt show how this is done.
Anyone have an idea of what I am doing wrong ? Thanks

The watch needs to be awake or it shuts off the WiFi connection, you can try to do it while charging watch to keep it awake.
Note: on the other device just use the browser and ftp:// IP address : port

I was playing about with it this morning and found the issue. I was using the default port of 4045 on the file manager on the watch which is blocked. Tried to use Chrome browser to access and was given ERR_UNSAFE_PORT message. Changed the port to 2000 and all worked OK.
Would be great now if a new feature was put out in next release to allow for either increase in lock time or enable/disable function

Hello, I just tried to install this free app Wifi File Transfer apk from https://apkpure.com/wifi-file-transfer/com.smarterdroid.wififiletransfer and it's working really great!
I used adb to install it.
Once installed click on it to launch it, it is true that the screen is small but you can navigate by dragging up with the finger, the upper part of the app to "start" button then click on it. Then a message appears to check that everything works, click on the "V" green then a "stop" button appears, drag with your finger without clicking on "stop" the upper part, the link appears which can be used to connect by an internet browser (any of them)
Click on "Stop" to stop the app.
Pros: you can access all the files of your watch and for example transfer themes directly into your watch without having to connect it to your computer. Another advantage, you can use any computer or device with web browser connected to the same wifi as the watch. So it will work with your smartphone too.
Cons: do not stay too long connected because your battery will not like too much ...

Hello, I am trying the wifi file transfer, but when I try to start it, it says "wifi not connected". I go to watch settings to connect the wifi, but when I come back to application, it says again wifi not connected.
Any idea?
Thanks

Try this File Manager:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.alphainventor.filemanager
I downloaded it to my phone then exported the app and side loaded to the watch. It works pretty well, it has a button to activate WiFi (no need to go to watch settings). It creates an FTP server on watch you can connect from anywhere in the same WiFi network, even the same app on phone will work. When creating the FTP connection, choose any user name but leave password blank. You may need to activate the useful PaceOn app so the watch won't go to sleep (it closes the WiFi connection). Good luck.

Delete files on the watch? You don't need FTP, you can do it using the file manager itself. As a Plus, you can also uninstall side loaded apps too. Cheers

On a side note: you can now transfer files from your phone to your watch through the amazfit app.
I am using the latest pacefied (1.2.4.8) and version 2.0 of amazfit on android.

Has anyone got the WiFi transfer "pro" version working. Today I installed the free ver which worked fine but has size limitations. I decided to buy the "pro" version but it wont install on the amazfit. Strange as free & pro ver's were same.

Did you try to uninstall the free version before you installed the pro version?

Wireless Tether

I've never used wireless tether on my phone, but recently tried to. I'm running the Lightning Bolt 2.7 rom and I'm using Wireless Tether for Root Users. I hit "press to start tethering" and everything seems fine. I'm granted SU permission and it displays "press to stop tethering" which leads me to believe that the program is working correctly. I have 3G connection but I'm getting 0.0kb down and up and I'm unable to discover my Eris with any other device (my wife's Eris, PC, or laptop). Am I doing something wrong?

I think I've tried every free wifi tether app in exsistence. I've heard tetherWifi works but I don't want to pay $9 to test it...wish they'd let you try b4 you buy.
Stupid question, but do you have wifi turned on?
If so, there is an option in the settings of wireless tether app that's called enable access-control. If this is checked then you have to grant priviledges to the devices that you wish to connect to your phone. You will have to slide the notifications window down and then select the notification about some device that is trying to connect to your phones wifi. After you select that notification you must grant the priviledge before it will work.
Good Luck!!

I had my wifi turned off but I've tried turning it on and off. I enabled access-control, disabled it, turned bluetooth PAN tether on and off, and I've changed the settings to each of the different LAN network settings. Each time I return to the main page I'm seeing 0.0kB down and up. When I scan for wifi connections with my wife's phone, it never sees my Eris. I've even tried manually adding the wifi network on her phone by entering "AndroidTether" manually as the SSID which is what my phone says the SSID is. It adds it to her wifi networks but says that it is "Not in range, remembered".
Question - When you turn on Wireless Tether, before you connect any devices to it, does your phone display any kB going down or up? Or do you have to actually connect to a device to start pushing a signal?
You might need to start over. Do not mess with anything other than changing your SSID and enabling Access control. Do not use bluetooth for confusion reasons. When you connect with your wireless laptop watch for the access request, slide your notifications and then accept your device. You should be ok. Do not try to complicate things. Just KISS!!
PM me if you have any other questions!
That's my problem. I can't get other devices to even attempt to connect to my phone. The only notification I ever see is "tethering is currently running". I get superuser permission whenever I turn on tethering or change any settings that require it to restart tethering. But I never get any kB down or up and no other device ever recognizes the wifi connection.
Whenever I get an access control notification, it DOES NOT pop up. It is displayed subtly at the top of the phone and I have to slide my finger from the very top of the screen down to the bottom, and then the notification menu fully comes up. I then click the access control notification and check the device that is trying to access wifi through my phone. You have to pay close attention.
You could try to click on the menu button by your home button and select access control, and see if anything tries to attach. You will need to check the box for the device and then accept.
Good Luck!

I understand that I have to view my notifications to see the notification. But there is never one there. No device sees a wifi signal because the phone isn't pushing one. It's my understanding that the app should be pushing a wifi signal that other devices can see and try to connect to. When I'm on my laptop or my wife's phone and I scan for a wifi network I DO NOT see my phone and therefore the device does not attempt to connect to my phone (and there is not a notification if I slide my finger down at the top of my phone to allow a connection).
The question I have is: when you begin tethering (BEFORE ANY DEVICE HAS CONNECTED OR ATTEMPTED TO) do you have kb's going down or up? Someone answering this simple question would help me tremendously!
Thanks!

To answer your question, no. if nothing is connected to the tether then the connection has no need to upload or download info.

What version are you running? I'm not running a froyo rom so I havent been up to date on what works and what doesnt, but have you looked thru all the froyo rom threads to see if anyone else has had a tether problem? On aloysius, I have version 1.6 and it works fine, get info transfer up and down after I connect with my laptop. If you have access control enabled, you will need to authorize your device that is connected, if you can find it in wireless networks.
Is wireless tether bundled with the rom? You said you have tried all versions that you could find but I still have a feeling its the version of wireless tether you have, but it could also be that all versions you found are only compatible with 2.1.
Heres all I could find:
Wireless Tether
I'm on KaosFroyo v24. So I tried opening wireless tether and running it. I started it and did a wifi scan on my wife's phone. Still nothing. I got on the laptop and ran about a half dozen scans and it finally saw and connected to my phone, at which point data was streaming up and down. I had just assumed before since no data was streaming and I couldn't connect initially that something was wrong.
I still can't connect with my wife's phone (which was what I used most for testing) but I got it working.
Thanks to everyone for your help!!!

Connecting tablet to a paired phone through BT

I was wanting to try and send a file from my phone to the tablet using blue tooth file transfer. I was able to pair my tablet to my phone through blue tooth but it will not connect once the process is done. On both devices it gave the same message to allow paring and the same identification number. I hit allow pair and it does. After that nothing happens. I hit the settings icon next to the paring and it only gives an option to unpair or rename the cell phone/pair connection.
I'm thinking it is not properly setting up the profile for the connection. When I go into the setting for my headphones it lists the profile and the options for it; voice chat, media, etc. Is this part of the problems people are having with the BT connections? Is there a setting I need to turn on or off somewhere is the OS of the tablet?
I'm using a Mytouch4g slide phone and looked on the phone to see what options are given. Hitting the paired icon for the table only gives the option to delete it. On there my connection to my laptop for blue tooth gives the profile options for transfers etc. When I get home I will try connecting the tablet to my laptop and see if the profile gets created. If it works then it has to be something between my phone and the tablet.
Connecting two complex devices like a phone and a tablet isn't (generally) the same as plugging in a USB device, or plugging a phone into a PC. The two devices will never show up as removable storage or an extra hard drive. They won't even actually be connected most of the time. However if they are paired they will "look" for each other and share files back and forth if you initiate a transfer.
Try sending a file from one device to the other.
In any file explorer, select the file you want to share, select share, select blue tooth and then select the paired device. If the two devices are properly paired you will get a message on the receiving device asking you if you want to accept the file and if you hit OK the file will be sent over the blue tooth connection.
Try the app "bluetooth file transfer" to do it. It's what I had to use to push the file from my phone to tablet through bluetooth.
I have my EVO3D paired and it always says its not connected but paired. When i ask to transfer a file (song, pic, comic, movie, etc...) it pops up to ask if i want to accept it. I press yes and it works.

I uninstalled that bluetooth file transfer app. Its buggy and doesn't seem to work. I just use the normal built in Bluetooth capabilities to transfer files, photos, movies, etc...works great. That one app is crap, IMO.

Must be user error. Took me all of 10 seconds to connect my thunderbolt and prime and start transferring a file.
It is not user error. I was again annoyed today that I couldn't get it work the first time and decided to tinker around again. Still same situation where it will pair and show the same security code on my phone and the tablet, sync/pair up, and that is it. After that it will not connect. It didn't matter if I tried to initiate the the connection from my phone or the tablet. But I did get a message on one attempt saying something to the effect of software preventing a connection.
I decided to try it with a coworkers phone and it was the same situation. It would discover the phone, pair, but not connect. That was another Android device. I then went to another who has an Iphone 3gs and got the same result. Except his phone gave the message saying the tablet is not supported. I'm going to try and include the picture in this post.
I tried a factory reset of the tablet thinking maybe there was something that went bonkers with the patches but that didn't work either. I'm not sure where the problem is. I've connected my phone to multiple bluetooth devices and no problems. I've only gotten the tablet to connect to my bluetooth headphones and that is it.
It would be nice to get the tablet to connect with my phone as I could then use bluetooth gps on it and do file transfers. I've tried the apps for doing such tasks and it won't sync up.

You don't need this app, bluetooth file sharing is built right into the Prime (and most Android devices).
Has anyone tried to use the usb to transfer huge file because to transer 400mb of info through bt would take a million years, I tired today to use the usb with my prime and evo and the tablet did not show me the file when I turned on the storage from the evo .
So right now had to take out the sd card which is anoying just wanted to know if anyone has been able to get this work.
What is strange is that I know the usb works fine since I have used my external harddrive and it works perfect. So I think there is something that has to do with the phone connection that it not tlakng to the tablet.

I had this problem while trying to BT connect my Transformer with my Wileyfox Swift, in order to test the "File-Go" beta App from Google. After many attempts I made some progress by simultaneously pressing pair on both machines. I was then able to share files via Bluetooth, although the "File-Go" App didn't allow BT transfer.

Bluetooth Auto Connect App

Hello, i use bluetooth for tethering my Prime with my Desire HD because it consumes less battery than using WIFI-Hotspot. The Problem with this was that the Transformer does not automatically connect to the phone when enabling bluetooth.
So i wrote an App that does exactly this. It reacts on the bluetooth_state_change broadcast and then connects to the phone. The App uses some hidden Api-Calls but seems to work well.
Since i don't have a market account yet, i thought it would be a good idea to upload it here. I attached the apk and the source.
Please comment!
EDIT: Seems to work with any bluetooth device, see posts below
EDIT2: This version is outdated. Please search "Bluetooth auto connect" by refluxa in Google play. I can't post any links here yet. Also it only works with Honeycomb or higher.

Hey thanks. Works great. I use it in combination with bluetooth headset Jabra bt3030. So simple yet so effective.
Maybe you should rename the thread. It's not only good for tethering as you can see
Hi,
sorry for my late answer. Thank you for the comments. I'm glad to hear that it is useful for you, even though i don't know why it works with headsets. I explicitly select the Bluetooth PAN (Personal Area Network) Profile.
Also i registered a developer account now and i think i will publish it there in the next days.
Looks like a very promising app. I tried it, but it crashes periodically on my AT&T Galaxy Note when I turn bluetooth on. Also, the bluetooth connected devices appear disabled - they are a very light color on a white background.
I'd love to help with this, let me know if you need more info or assistance.
Please see updated first post. You will have to wait until Samsung brings your device to ics.
Hello, I have SGS2 with ICS ROM. I have installed Bluetooth Auto Connect from Google Play because my phone doesn't want to connect to my BT car hands free automatically (manual connect always works). The auto connect app shows the name of my hansfree but the selection is unfortunately disabled. Can you please enable also other BT profiles (not only PAN) in your application? It can be very useful for another BT devices too.
Is there any way this app could allow for multiple device selection and have it recognize a "friendly name?" (if you rename the device in your BT panel)
This works great for me in my car to connect my BT, but I have a second transceiver that I use in my house that is identical, so it has the same name, and the software seems to randomly pick one of the two when BT powers up.
Allowing checkboxes for a multiple device selection to start up the BT connections would probably be enough for me, as then "random" will get both every time.
I just updated the app. Now it has support for Tasker / Locale and Multiple Devices!

I just found this great app trough a post on the Tasker forum and installed it immediate.
I noticed that if you manually start the app it will ask you to enable BT, but is you use the Tasker plugin it doesn't enable BT.
Of course you can enable BT using Tasker before using the plugin, it would be nice if the plugin had an optin to enable BT.
Beside that, thanks for this great app/plugin.

Hello,
i will have to ponder on that because tasker / locale developers say that functionality that is already offered by their programs should not be reimplemented in plugins. On the other hand i also see that some users have problems because they do not know that they have to enable bluetooth first. I think i will add a little notice at least.
Have you got a guide (or a link to one) to setup bluetooth tether (HTC One X to Transformer) so I can use this app?
Do you need root on the phone to do it?
Hello, sorry but i just overlooked your post. In general its a good idea to do the whole stuff manually once. First you have to pair your devices and enable bluetooth tethering on the phone (On my non-Sense-Phone: Settings -> More... (in Wireless & Networks Section) -> Tethering and mobile Hotspot). Then on the tablet open the configuration dialog using the button with the three controllers beside the entry of your phone in the bluetooth dialog. Select "use for internet connection". Go back to the previous menu and click on the entry. Now you should be able to use the phones internet connection. This is the point where the apps come into play: The auto tether app enables bluetooth tethering on the phone after reboot (is disabled automatically) and the auto connection app simply initiates the bluetooth connection when enabling bluetooth.
Fantastic app! So useful in conjunction with tasker
I was wondering if there were plans to add a complementary feature: i.e. the possibility to autodisconnect a specific BT device. I'm looking for an app that allows me to do that via tasker to be able to toggle my BT headset connection between my phone and my tablet. I don't think any app can do that yet?
Hello,
it has disconnect functionality now (Version 0.6)!

Hello, thank you for your app.
Unfortunately it crashes to me. I set it up so to connect to a joypad (that is, the iPega controller mentioned here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2033780 ).
When I turn bluetooth on, "unfortunately the application has died unexpectedly".
Just reporting.

A doubt about wifi

I'm planning to buy a G Watch but i heard it doesnt have wifi, so, can i pair my phone with the smartwatch via bluetooth to get wifi on it?
The watch does not have wifi but you can pair it with your phone via bluetooth.
You will not be able to use the connected features of the watch if it is not in bletooth range of your phone.
Watches with wifi can communicate with the phone remotely, using wifi for the watch and wifi/3G on the phone.
(I'm not really sure to understand your question so I hope I answered)

No. You will not be able to open Chrome at all. The best you'll get is sideloading Firefox for Android over to the /system/priv-app folder. You do NOT get an internet connection in standard sideloaded applications unless you have them in priv-app.
Other than that, Applications have no internet access unless the application on the phone-side preforms the functions that require networking and send resulting data over through the Android Wear application.
EDIT: I wanted to clarify. Chrome does not run at all on Android Wear because of the ActionBar it uses for it's address bar and menu button. It will crash upon attempting to start it, as will most standard Android applications that use said ActionBar.
that's true but there exists a browser for wear

There does indeed. I found it's performance to be lacking however. As opposed to using the same amount of controls and having multiple tabs inside Fennec for Android (which does run and it runs well as long as you have a keyboard. You just don't get add-ons, favorites or a back button unfortunately because Android Wear refuses to render the menu.

Connecting Amazfit pace to PC through WiFi

Is there any possibility to connect the Amazfit pace to PC using the WiFi for file transfer? I tried the Software Data Cable. I installed the app on the watch, but after starting it always crashes...

Hello, well I respond on another thread but I paste my last comment here too, it may be useful for some people :
I just tried to install this free app Wifi File Transfer apk from https://apkpure.com/wifi-file-transfer/com.smarterdroid.wififiletransfer and it's working really great!
Any idea?
Thanks
Had same problem connecting Amazfit Stratos to Windows 10.
Easily solved with cleaning the contacts of the watch with a simple pensil eraser!!
No need to thank
