Hi,
Just got myself a redmi note 4x and after a few days of using it i have some questions about it.
After enabling Developer options, I've notice that the MI Unlock status has a value of 'unlocked'. I this expected? What does the unlocked status mean?
what got me confused here is that I have read about rooting the rn4x and the MI Unlock status is part of the steps.
Another question is that what are the bloatsoftware that can be removed safely?
Thanks,

That means, your device is factory unlocked. Good to go.
You can fastboot the twrp and flash root.
Dunno about mi bloatware remover.

Thats good to know.
Basically I'm following steps here
https://www.xda-developers.com/uninstall-carrier-oem-bloatware-without-root-access/
With the list provided by
http://en.miui.com/thread-378940-1-1.html
so far so good, havent deleted some items that would entail factory reset.
Redmi note 4 mi account permissions is access but not unlocked y

After unlocking if you want to root you need modded boot file...alka twrp so that you don't need modded boost file for updating.....also refer en.miui.com so you get updated version of unlocking and rooting.

Same problem for me also
Wait for 2-3 days and once give you miui I'd in this 50 percent error bootloader unlock thread at en.miui.com they might rectify if it's back end unlock tool update problem.

You have to flash china developer rom 6.3.7 and without starting phone try to unlock. This is the only way worked fro me.
either in fastboot mode or via updater ,since updater will reboot device

Hello all,
I have just received my International (kate - 152mm version) Redmi Note 3.
One of the first things I wanted to do was to root it, so I can remove some of the spyware.
I got the authorization code from Mi, but when I use the unlocker app, it always stops at 50%.
So I did a lot of research, and I realized that first I need to flash a developer rom - then I can unlock.
So: the question is - which version of the developer rom should I use?
Thank you for any pointers.
official unlock worked for me with last 6.10.13 global dev. i turned find my device first, then added my MI account in developer options->unlock status, and it worked flawlesly. eagerly waiting for official twrp
It is not possible to unlock bootloader on Kate model.
Even with the authorization form Xiaomi.

Kenzo rom are compatible with kate device.
Officiel unlock seems to be OK with the last 6.10.13 global dev
You don't need to officially unlock.
There is a tutorial here on XDA how to load twrp on locked bootloader and flash cm13 from it.
I'm using it right now without any issues.

Well is your device Mi Max?? No. So all you can do is wait for someone to crack it, which is highly unlikely. It's not that easy stuff. When the pro devs get time and enough info they will surely do it.
And as far as the official unlock process through the MiUnlock software goes please wait for at least 5 days before trying to unlock again after a failed attempt. It sounds weird but it really is the solution most of the times. Just wait don't even try doing anything for 5 days and on the 6th day when you try you will most likely succeed. Try it. Remember, 5 days.:fingers-crossed:

I didn't mean any offence. Sure, your free to ask anything here. BTW do try waiting for some days before trying to unlock and also turn on Mi Sync for everything. Check MIUI forum on how to succeed in unlocking bootloader there are lot more tips and tricks regarding that topic there than here on XDA.
Peace.

Well, if it says Unlocked, then you probably have an unlocked device. Some retailers unlock the bootloaders before selling the device, because they flash custom versions of MIUI (such as the fake Global Version)
You're lucky, you don't have to wait 2 months to get the bootloader unlocked!

Just make sure you re-register the pad to your mi account. Then if you flash stock rom and relock the pad you can easily unlock the pad without waiting.

Dumb question: is this as easy as signing in to the pad with your Mi account? Or is there something else I need to do for this? I do see the device listed on i.mi.com.
I'm not planning to re-lock it, but accidents happen.
