Hello as title states, bought mipad4 in AliExpress, once received, turned it on and noticed it said Unlocked in the bottom start up screen?? Is this already bootloader Unlocked so I can root? Or do I still need to do the Unlock bootloader process?
Thank you.

Well, if it says Unlocked, then you probably have an unlocked device. Some retailers unlock the bootloaders before selling the device, because they flash custom versions of MIUI (such as the fake Global Version)
You're lucky, you don't have to wait 2 months to get the bootloader unlocked!

Just make sure you re-register the pad to your mi account. Then if you flash stock rom and relock the pad you can easily unlock the pad without waiting.

Dumb question: is this as easy as signing in to the pad with your Mi account? Or is there something else I need to do for this? I do see the device listed on i.mi.com.
I'm not planning to re-lock it, but accidents happen.

If you don't mind losing your data, enable developer options then see if there is an option for "enable OEM unlock". If there is, check the box and reboot. Then make sure you have your drivers installed, open a terminal and run adb reboot bootloader. if it boots to bootloader, run fastboot oem unlock.

There's a toggle in Developer Option that will enable the unlocking of Bootloader. I don't see any workaround about the rooting for this V10 series.
i have LG v10 H960 variant. i can see in the developer option the unlock bootloader option. Does it mean i can unlock and root my phone?
Pretty sure everyone has the toggle but only t-mobile version can actually be unlocked.

See another thread about root bounty.
Long story short, there was found a way, but it's insecure and the author will not release it until a TOT file is available (for phone unbrick/firmware reflash) - so be patient, it may take months, or will not happen ever...

Where should I order this phone?

Hello, I want to order this phone for my birthday, because my previous phone (Galaxy S3 Neo) isn't that good anymore. The only problem is that, there are many places I could order this phone, but a lot of them have bad reviews. What I am looking for is the Snapdragon version, with 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM. I believe it's a kenzo device (correct if I am wrong). I prefer tax free and faster shipping. Also, will this phone work with my provider? My provider is Tele2 Lithuania, I've checked many places but there are so many versions of this phone, I just can't find the correct one.
Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Did you buy it from there? It seems that it comes with a chinese ROM pre-installed. How easy is it to flash an international rom?

Easy via EDL. If you are new in flashing, it can be confusing. You can unlock the bootloader and flash via fastboot or recovery. Unlock bootloader request in PIA process and it usually take 10-20days after receiving the unlock permission from Xiaomi.

Without bootloader unlock: You can't do anything, be it flashing twrp or flashing custom roms. You can only flash MIUI stock roms via EDL with Mi flash tool. Bootloader unlock doesn't void warranty for Xiaomi phones so I find no reason why someone wouldn't unlock the bootloader.

developer rom for redmi note - kate?

Hello all,
I have just received my International (kate - 152mm version) Redmi Note 3.
One of the first things I wanted to do was to root it, so I can remove some of the spyware.
I got the authorization code from Mi, but when I use the unlocker app, it always stops at 50%.
So I did a lot of research, and I realized that first I need to flash a developer rom - then I can unlock.
So: the question is - which version of the developer rom should I use?
Thank you for any pointers.
official unlock worked for me with last 6.10.13 global dev. i turned find my device first, then added my MI account in developer options->unlock status, and it worked flawlesly. eagerly waiting for official twrp
It is not possible to unlock bootloader on Kate model.
Even with the authorization form Xiaomi.

Kenzo rom are compatible with kate device.
Officiel unlock seems to be OK with the last 6.10.13 global dev
You don't need to officially unlock.
There is a tutorial here on XDA how to load twrp on locked bootloader and flash cm13 from it.
I'm using it right now without any issues.

MI unlock status

Hi,
Just got myself a redmi note 4x and after a few days of using it i have some questions about it.
After enabling Developer options, I've notice that the MI Unlock status has a value of 'unlocked'. I this expected? What does the unlocked status mean?
what got me confused here is that I have read about rooting the rn4x and the MI Unlock status is part of the steps.
Another question is that what are the bloatsoftware that can be removed safely?
Thanks,

That means, your device is factory unlocked. Good to go.

Dunno about mi bloatware remover.

https://www.xda-developers.com/uninstall-carrier-oem-bloatware-without-root-access/
With the list provided by

so far so good, havent deleted some items that would entail factory reset.
Redmi note 4 mi account permissions is access but not unlocked y

[HELP] Redmi 5 plus from Tampered ROM to Global ROM

Hello,
I just recently joined here on this forum and I'm about to get my first Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus on Monday and since it's on its way being delivered and I've heard a lot of response on the seller that I bought that their phones are using Tampered ROMs and I want to know if there's any way that I can change it? the ROM I mean from being Tampered to Global ROM. If there's any, can you provide any links or tutorials? That would mean a lot to me. I'm not very techy, especially on Phones and this is my first ever Xiaomi phone after Zenfone. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
is there other way to get rid of being tampered rom without using testpoint?
