Request: LG V10 VS990 Debrick (Qualcomm 9008 mode) Help - Verizon LG V10
Right now, LG V10s that are bricking has 3 main models, H901, VS990, F600L models. These models somehow have cross exchanged motherboards (for example H901 w VS990 board), possibly due to boot loop fiasco and LG exchanging motherboards w different model. If this is the case, bricking (Qualcomm 9008 mode) will occur during any kind of software update/flashing rom.
H901 owners can use @tungkick method https://forum.xda-developers.com/tm...ent/debrick-phone-h901-qualcomm-9008-t3440359
F600L owners can use QFIL @samy2015 method https://forum.xda-developer...eneral/unbrick-h901-f600l-board-2017-t3635697
Right now, VS990 board owners don't have a method of debricking. We can use both of these methods, but we do not have the proper files to do so. This is where we need your help:
1) If you have a rooted VS990, PLEASE follow @abaids directions and provide us with this live dump img file so that we can use tungkick's sdcard method.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-lg-v10/help/debrick-image-vs990-t3639892
2) If you are a v10 owner with vs990 board who managed to debrick, please share how you did it and your files. mbn and xml files?
3) If you are on the same boat as us, please support this thread by leaving a comment that this is the case and share any kind of useful info.
Let's not lose hope. Thank you in advance.
Status Update
Edit: Eventually I got a guy with medusa box to fix it for me. Flashed VS990 KDZ and booted up just like that. No IMEI, but still connects to network and everything. Good luck to everyone else.
I am a not so proud owner of a bricked h901 with a vs990 motherboard for over a month now, hardbricked while updating to marshmallow with an h901 image using LGUP. Little did I know then it had a vs990 motherboard inside a T-Mobile phone. Not finding a solution yet, I am considering ordering an h901 motherboard from AliExpress for around $80. I doubt whether it would be a sensible decision or should I rather wait till someone comes up with a solution to flash the proper image to this vs990 motherboard.
Thanks.
P.S.: It looks like someone here is on the verge of finding a solution.

Finally, Cranknet found a solution to debrick V10 w/VS990 motherboards, find the link to his thread below.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-lg-v10/help/lg-vs990-unbrick-via-qfil-t3739299
I debricked my V10 H901 VS990 motherboard today, using the qfil method and the mbn and xml files he has added in his thread. Now in bootloop mode waiting for the right flash mode, as my lgup still doesn't recognize my phone. I must be missing something very basic. But I'm glad the hard part is done, thanks to cranknet.
Thanks.
Does it work?
Did someone success this tutorial?

No I didn't. It's been 2 years now. Still waiting for a miracle. I had barely used it for a month then. I bought a Meizu Pro 7 and have been happily using it ever since. Less complicated than an LG and a great DAC too (my main reason for buying this phone).

LG G Stylo LS770 Firmware Rollback/Downgrade?
I made the mistake of unrooting and updating to Marshmallow when the OTA update was first pushed last month and I've regretted it so much. I don't know if there's gonna be the possibility of root for a while as the bootloader is locked and there's currently no way to work around it... So I'm left at a loss wondering if there's any way to rollback my device to 5.1.1 Any help would be much appreciated and I apologize ahead of time if this seems like a really dumb request/question
LG G Stylo LS770 upgraded by TOT using LGUP Did you ever find how to downgrade? I have the LGUP and did the same thing as you.]

Thank you for responding so quickly. I am now realizing to check the development on xda before purchasing a device. Again thank you and I will post again if I ever find anything.

LG K4 Verizon Model, no luck rooting. Anybody succesful?
I just bought an LG K4 from Verizon. I have not been able to root it. Has anyone else been successful rooting one of these? I think this thread might be useful, except I don't use windows. I am on a Linux box--Debian Jessie. http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/guide-root-method-lg-devices-t3049772 I would like to know the Linux equivalent to the command " Send_Command.exe \\.\COM4" I think I've just found the answer. I discovered it after rewording my question, which prompted a different Google search. http://forum.xda-developers.com/and...lg-devices-t3049772/post60557353#post60557353

Check out this thread Sorry Removing my work from XDA
Hey everyone ? Just wanted to share the joy of having ROOTED my k4 k121 on firmware 10F! The solution was exactly what @Astr4y4L mentioned in the previous post ☺ Involved downgrading boot.img I believe to previous version 10C which finally allowed kingroot to do it's job. Afterwards replaced kingroot with SuperSu. Astr4y4L now has a flashable system.img pre rooted with SuperSu!! I invite you k121 users to check out that thread Astr4y4L linked and ask for k4 root ?

Sorry to revive a dead thread, but how does one downgrade to 10C if all the instructions have been deleted? Could someone who have had success chime in?

[Newbie Question] Rooting a Canadian, H831 Nougat LG G5?
Sorry if this has been posted before; I've seen some posts dealing with rooting a Canadian LG G5, but not for the 7.0 Android version and H831 kernel version together. Simply put, as a complete noob to the world of rooting, is there a relatively safe way to save a backup of my phone data (flashing, I think it's called) and of course, to root my phone? There's no lack of methods shown online and some for other software versions, but I'd rather err on the side of caution before proceeding with one type of root vs. another. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
There is no root for the LG G5 of the H831 model variety. And there probably won't be any, any time soon.

LG G2 (LG D801) on T Mobile over to VZW
Hello, I have an LG G2 (LG D801) and I was wondering if i could get it over to VZW. The research I've done leads me to believe that i can't... as it doesn't support the appropriate bands. However, I read something regarding a firmware flash may work, but no other info other than that.. Are you guys able to point me in the right direction of that? Or is what i read incorrect? -Thanks,
