Power menu delay (4-5 seconds?!) - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So, I am using Omni Rom (7.1.2) on my Sony Xperia X Compact with xposed, substratum and some tweaks. After setting up my phone over 1,5 days, I now find that the power menu has a delay of ~5 seconds after pressing the power button. I know that this was not the case when I first flashed the Rom, but I dont want to reflash and set up everything for 1,5 days again. So I hope somebody may point me in the right direction. I tried disablying all substratum overlayers, but nothing changed.
My xposed plugins are: Adblock reborn, All my..., GravityBox, MyAndroidTools. My other tools are: Adaway, busybox, fastergps, L Speed.
Thanks in advance!

[Q] Several major bugs with AOKP (Neo MT15i)

Hi. This is first time I rooted and changed something to my phone's core system. I bootloaded through Flashtool and got in the newest kernel, ROM and GApps from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1613017 and my baseband is 77 (http://www.mediafire.com/?1oyztnqww22bgek). Things looked fine and my system was working as it should. But soon I was starting to see these bugs:
Screen moving from left to right and back at recovery menu on vol up/down press. Not a big bug though, still possible to work with the menu and read the text.
No lockscreen. Tried all the lockscreen options at settings, but power button still just turns the screen on and off. I can only see the lockscreen right after I reboot my phone and before I enter the PIN, the wheel works as I've set it but then I can't get into the lockscreen anymore.
Strange menu button functionality. Firstly, when I was in the home screen and pressed the menu button, a menu with system settings popped up. Now nothing happens, for both HW and SW buttons. Since the time it worked I was just messing with settings but I'm sure I didn't disable anything like that.
Browser and Google Play not working, Play says RH-01 error, browser just crashes. GMail works.
Tilt not working properly. It did after the fresh install, but now it works only for menus, not for homescreen like it did before. I've tried running a widesecreen-only game but it's being displayed in normal, portrait mode- with errors. Enabling/disabling the tilting didn't help.
And I believe that there are more bugs I didn't mention. I did everything as told in this article http://www.theandroidsoul.com/aokp-xperia-neo/, just with getting the newest links instead of the ones provided. I installed the Hallon version of AOKP and I was running GB 2.3.4 before, if that helps. And like I said- I am doing it for the first time so I am quite new to these things, so firstly sorry if I didn't mention anything important and please describe the steps about how to fix it a little bit more detailed. Thanks!
Hi..
That ROM is legend sometimes ago,and dont have problems like you said.
The step I did was like this :
1. Flash full firmware ICS(.ftf file)with flashtool.
2.Flash kernel
3. Flash ROM
4. Flash Gapps
5. Flash Add-on if any
Enjoy

MT15i_4.1.B.0.587_Global.ftf ICS firmware and hallon kernel flashed through Flashtool, then rebooted into system. Then in revocery I wiped cache, dalvik and reseted to factory, installed the newest AOKP ROM, installed GApps, booted into system. My screen is still moving from sides as the screen refreshes in recovery. But after booting, still the same issues persist...
Inside the old recovery, screen dancing is known issue, try Flash other kernel,no harm changing kernel.
Can you provide,Aokp ROM version and kernel you have..

AOKP Hallon JB Milestone 1
I tried the CM10.1 and my recovery menu fixed but the bugs weren't fixed, so then I flashed the CM10 and my recovery menu changed again, now with black background and again, fixed animations. But then my device bricked so I flashed again the MT15i_4.1.B.0.587_kernel.ftf.
Couldn't you just send me links to a working combination of kernel-firmware with AOKP? The requirements says I need baseband 72/77, do you have any links or tips for these? I've tried several combinations but just none really worked, now I am on stock laggy JB 4.0.4 and I have no idea what to try now...

[MOD] Stock status bar with Power Button (build .257 & .284)

I like the simple things for daily use, 'coz I'm busy with my job now and don't have much time like a year ago, when I modified - and repaired LOL - my Galaxy SII like crazy!
So, I'm bringing u guys a simple mod for stock status bar with a power button. This will be more helpful than any screen-off software in store!
Features:
- Press to turn off and lock the screen
- Press and hold for a while, the power menu will appear (but in a weird way)
- Aligned to the right side, simple icon and non-overlapping Clear button
Install:
- Flash through CWM for Deodex rom
- For Odex: I'm not sure if it works, but you can try deleting the SystemUI.odex (/system/app) first, then flashing this mod.
Have fun guys!
I'm gonna post some guides to mod WITHOUT flashing - of course when I have time.

Install xposed on Lenny2 ?

Hi,
I try to flash xposed on my wiko but i have bootloop 3 times i flash xposed-v79-sdk22arm, V78 , V81 and V71
When i flash the v79 and v78 i have a black screen and the others bootloop on the logo "LENNY 2"
Hello and good evening,
how long did you wait?

There is possibility that status bar will not change colors in apps as it does in normal Lollipop ROM, instead it will remain white or black. It still will be transparent on Desktop, tho. I guess it's fault of ported boot.img since with stock boot.img it's working fine. But there is workaround.
You will need Xposed Installer, Xposed Framework (xposed-v79-sdk22-arm.zip) from this thread
Code:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3034811
and Flat Style Colored Bars from Google Playstore.
Code:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bocharov.xposed.fscb
Install Xposed app -> reboot to Recovery and flash xposed-v79-sdk22-arm.zip -> reboot phone. (It will take a while since android has to update a lot of files from Xposed. It will restart couple of times, don't be scared.)
Now open Xposed and go to Modules -> Check Flat Style Colored Bars module and restart phone.
After that, status bar will change colors again. Sadly they wont be tinted since it's free version of module so at light colors there will be black icons instead of white.

For V78 and 79 approximately 5-10 min and made a normal demmarage then after there was a black screen him was unusable I just had the possibility " Switch off, or put in silencer " by pressing on the button off
First of all you want to root your phone using KingRoot then change it to SuperSu using SuperSuMe v9.1.9, then Install its binnaries and update it to newest version using Play Store. Reboot. Then you want to check those two posts mentioned here. After that reboot phone and download this app. Check if it shows "SeLinux Permissive" if so, then you can flash Xposed Framework v81 and after 5mins it should work.
Blackscreen will show mostlikely when phone is rooted using kingroot, if you change to supersu you will get bootloop. Unless you change SeLinux to permissive.
Hello i tried to force permissive but i have an error with the mkdir
"mkdir failed for /system/su.d ,File exists"
I had it too actually. SuperSu makes this folder when you are installing it. Next steps should work without problem and after reboot it should set it to permissive. I'm not sure if this terminal method is enough since I first created that file for init.d and minutes later I did the terminal thing but it worked.

CM13 MaX2 S19 UmBreLLaTeaM SpaiNTeaM

Hello partners!!!
Here we share the functional rom last for our MaX2!
At the request of many colleagues, I created this CM13 based on 29 September.
And adding the entire S19 firmware to have it fully updated and upgraded.
Fully functional quick and steady myself I was surprised with the performance tests ... 143,000 AnTuTu with hot enough to test mobile Cold believe can draw record numbers ...
To say that I still have problems with slow motion ....
I'm starting to not know where mistakes can be ....
Libs I managed to trace the entire structure of the official EUI and still does not work ....
Permits revised from top to bottom ...
Libs mother and CM13 ... zilch ...
Perhaps there may be something in the kernel (boot) but there are limited ...
As I change anything to do directly test the ROM does not start or comes into infinite loops ....
So ... I leave the rom completely finished but with 2 bugs.
And each user knows what he wants or what you need.
But the ROM is fully functional for day to day and is really fast and stable.
BUGS:
1 Slowmotion nonfunctional. The rest of the camera is fully functional with 21mpxl.
2nd nonfunctional IRDA. (With this ... if not roms stocks moment ... little we can do ...)
The first!!!! IMPORTANT
We do not force anyone has use or install the rom.
We do not make yourself responsible for possible errors or brik the terminal.
We simply share our work for all so that we can have the terminal in our language.
RoM CM13
CM13 based official of the day 29/09/2016

Thanks for your work! Does Camera API 2 work this time?
I flashed this rom today. Everything works well for me!
wiped system and dirty flashed from previous cm13 and it seems to be running very well
Nice, smooth, we will see battery performance compared to Mokee.
- Camera2 api doesnt work
- Slowmotion doesnt work
- IR doesnt work
- For me, missing Aegis app from Mokee is a big step back

@ParasiTe_RemiX Did you build this from source or port from another device?
Beautiful ROM, but for me in Japan for some reason LTE is not working, I can get only HSPA. This is strange because in the stock eui I can use LTE no problem.
Also the hardware buttons light up when you touch the screen, on Eui they only lit up when you touched the buttons, not the screen.
Oh, and after checking now, the AudioFX doesn't work system wide, only in the cm music app, in e.g. YouTube or Tidal, it doesn't make any change in sound.
Notification light is blinking when charging, is there any way to make it always on and not blinking?

For the hardware buttons backlight, you can turn them off in settings/buttons or you can turn the brightness of them right down, via editing the max_brightness file.(can't remember the path name atm, but can easily google)
For the charging light, you can turn the charging light off in settings/display. The options for them don't seem to work unfortunately.
When I plugged my phone to the computer I noticed a blank file with no name and hard disk icon on my sd card, when I tried to delete it, it wiped my whole sd card! don't delete that file if you see it.

Thank you, looks really production quality
This is extremely close to what I wanted from this device: Straighforward CM13 (ok, I'll want CM14 next), no bloat, functional and fast.
Also rooted, which means I control my device, not some vendor who wanted my money but fails to cede the control over what he sold.
And most importantly: No longer any of these Chinese apps, which refused to get uninstalled while they claimed about any privilege Android can provide.
I sure hope security patches will be coming for years as the device looks powerful enough to last a long time.
Only bug I've found so far is apps like Hangouts and Duo can't access the Camera for video calls. Apart from that, flawless so far.

Huawei S7-301u and CyanogenMod. Didn't know Android modding was this hard.

Long story short, obtained said device from somewhere and decided to experiment on it, and to survey the modding scene a bit while at it. Yeesh. What happened after that, in summary:
Found XDA. Then found after_silence's roms. Downloaded them.
In the process, I learned how to setup adb and how to make Windows recognize this outdated device's drivers. Now I can do these with my eyes closed.
Flashed TWRP 2.3.2.3. Installed as's first mod with gapps package. But something was wrong, google apps showed only stupid ad-like results after every search. Wiped it and continued searching for other mods. Stumbled upon this. Downloaded the latest one. Flashed it. When I tried to install the gapps package there, twrp said not enough storage to install gapps package. I learned how to use gapps-config file. To no avail. Experimented with each one, including the aokp ones. They were stable, but main menu was like 5 fps. And most of the time, google play stopped. Clock stopped. Trebuchet stopped. Even if nothing stopped, something stopped, sooner or later.
At last, I installed these: cm11 20140419 and gapps lp 20141109. Google continued to show stupid results. Uninstalled google play updates, restarted, it updated itself. Now, all seems stable enough, only with the never before seen, ridiculously stupid glitch of all:
The device restarts if it goes to sleep. Yeah, the screen dims, dims... and restart. Pressing power button once directly reboots the device. There's no sleep - either the screen stays on until the battery drains, or restarts.
At this point I can gladly get on my knees to beg someone for a solution, or for someone to please tell me, "here, these are the latest and HASSLE-FREE android 5.x rom and suitable gapps package".
Please.

Hi @VerpinZal,
I installed that CM11 version as well, but without gapps (using F-Droid instead).
Cannot reproduce the restart instead of sleep. Screen dims, turns off ... and turns on again w/o any restart.
Cheers!
Edit:
After factory reset @ cwm recovery I was able to flash CM12.1 w/o any issues as well.
Instead of gapps I installed f-droid and aurora store.
A Logitech diNovo Mini helps me to overcome the broken touch function. It connects automatically to the Mediapad via BT after booting up.
