I have an Honor 9 and after installing SuperSu (v.2.82) my phone bootlooped. I tried to install a Stock Rom but when I install in Recovery mode it fails after 5%. It says "Software install failed"
-Honor 9 STF-L09
-Bootloader unlocked
-TWRP 3.1.1-1 installed

Previously I was running on marshmallow and I wanted to test emui 5 with nougat.So I flashed TWRP recovery without any problem after unlocking my bootloader.I then flashed a beta update for emui 5 and it went without any errors.But when I booted into the device there was no network in my cell.I tried to troubleshoot it but couldn't do much.So I thought of rolling back to previous version through my nandroid backup.So I booted my device to recovery but the TWRP recovery was gone..So I again tried to flash it..Every thing would go fine but when I rebooted to recovery it won't boot into TWRP..It would just freeze in there..I used TWRP recovery for Huawei honor 5x as it was compatible with my device.. can anyone help me..I would appreciate it a lot ?

I tried to root my Honor 9 after unlocking boot loader and installing TWRP (3.1.1-1) but after flashing SuperSu (v.2.82) my phone entered in bootloop. After that I tried to install stock ROMs but when I install the UPDATE.app it says "Software install failed".
I have access to:
-TWRP
-fastboot mod
-fastboot/adb (on my mac)
-eRecovery

I have officially unlocked the bootloader,
Even TWRP i have installed successfully
But whenever flashing the supersu zip the device get stuck into bootloop
I tried to change the version of SU still doesn't work
My S/W version is 7.1.2
Miui ver 8.5.4
I've tried magisk and i get "update process ended with erorr 1".
I also tried flasing SuperSu and it was sucessfull, but still not rooted.

It occurs because rooting your ROM requires to mount Vendor. But the recovery you're using is unable to mount Vendor. So it produces error 1.
To solve it you need to flash another twrp recovery capable of mounting vendor.
Try twrp recovery by xdoge. It'll work.
I have realme 7 pro unlocked bootloader, and when I installed derpfest 12 ROM from TWRP it successfuly installed but I cannot no longer boot to recovery (I tried TWRP and orangefox recovery )

I had this problem too
Mine was caused by wrong custom recovery.
For some reason, this device needs a different custom recovery according to the android version installed.
I have no idea how or why but it is what it is
If you have orangefox for A11 and bootloop upon entering recovery try installing A12 orangefox.
