Morning all,
Im looking at a SD 650 version of the Note3 but living in Australia would like the phone to have access to 700, 900, 1800 and 2100 MHz frequencies.
There is a lot of conflicting information regarding this phone and the versions that support different networks.
Searching here doesnt seem to provide me with an answer...
From what i read the 700MHz is the key (band 28?).
Can anyone confirm if they have a rom working for these frequencies? Happy to get either the Chinese or International version of the phone (the mysterious Taiwan versions that do appear seem to be the SD 616 version).
Thanks XDA hope someone can help with the answer,
A lot of people are waiting for the unlock of band 20 and 28 but so far it hasn't been done properly. (banmeifyouwant said he unlocked band20 but had reception problems)
I would recommend you to buy the special edition if you really need band 28 because right now I guess nobody can guarantee you that the bands can be unlocked by software only.
Thanks Man, not the news i wanted to hear. the special international editions dont seem to be that common on sale sites.
most of the international versions seem to be the SD 616 version.

Is there a major difference between the x820 and the x829 version? From what i could find on the internet the x829 is the version for the US and i'm not sure if it has bootloader unlocked, considering the 64 gb ROM i would risk buying it, but if lte wont work in Romania on this version, and there's no way to instal another custom rom thats a no buy, please tell me your thoughts
P.S. sorry for the basic language i'm not a expert in this field

You can look on this site: willmyphonework.net
There you can choose brand, model, country and your provider.
Website mentioned does not help, as you can't select variants.
As far as I know (I have ordered it myself) X829 is USA version, so it DOES NOT HAVE BAND 20. I would skip on this one if your 4G/LTE carrier is emitting via B20 frequency.
Here in Montenegro, 2 out of 3 carriers have 4G and both use bands 3 and 7, so I am covered and don't really care about B20.
There is a tool that unlocks bands, yet nobody confirmed that it actually works.
As far as custom ROMs are a concern, they all are interchangeable , means all ROMs can be used on all variants, X820, X821, X823, X829...

I have x820 working perfectly in Lithuania, you can check your Country's LTE supported bands on this link; http://willmyphonework.net/ and hardware for all version of max 2 is the same, you can always switch between roms.
Most webshop are pre-selling the X829 and will ship fom Feb 28, let's wait a few days to have them in hand and have actual experince on whether they have B20 and if they can be unlocked. (I want to know also if they do)

Sorry man, but are you sure that I can use a x820's rom on x829 version? Because there is an awesome x820 rom by cuoco92
Hello in an German Forum a user told that all Roms are working for the X829 and the LTE Band 20 have been unlocked
And than he said he was mistaken, 'cose his phone was x820, not as he belived x829
There's no proof b20 is gonna work - yet.

Yes, he got his Phone last friday. He wrote, the unlock with the DFS-Tool is done like the manual description. He can't test the LTE-Band, because he havn't a SIM with LTE. He is waiting for a new SIM to test the x829. DFS-Tool shown a unlocked B20
link it here, bitte
Has anyone tried the x829 in the US CDMA carriers like Verizon, if it works on them it will be e killer deal!
I have seen many version of this phone x820, x821, x822, x829 whats the difference does it have to do with lte bands or just country specific version and also the american unofficial x829 whats the difference b/w this and the other official x820, x821, x822.
I've also noticed (if any one has noticed closely) there are many varients of lemax 2 that has the logo "LeTv: and some others have logo "LE" so what does this logo signify manufacturing dates or firmware or something else??
I'm also planning to buy this phone which version and logo brand should i opt. Thanks....
letv renamed to leeco, so i think devices with the letv logo are older ones.
no LTE band 20 on x829. if you don't need it, it's the same hardware but cheaper than x820.
for the rest, incomplete but have a look at:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=71080442
Gesendet von meinem LEX820 mit Tapatalk
as far as i know,
x820 is china market
x821 is india market
x829 is USA (international?) market
but have not seen x822 yet
mine is x829, but i flashed x820 small EUI and it works nicely
no hardware version just the settings
I bought the le max 2 x820 chinese version and I cant use it in Israel (hard to connect to network or make calls). My friend bought the international version x820 and it works perfectly with the same sim.
Any ideas?
Hi. I have a galaxy s8+ which I am thinking of selling to get this phone - mainly because of treble support and the s8+ is too big! I was going to get the 6gb/128gb version which is great value on ali express. I know the Chinese version doesn't have band 20 but that doesn't matter on EE in the UK.
However I wanted to check whether there are other issues with not getting the European version of the honor 9? Does the Chinese version support the new aosp treble based Rom the devs have built? The thread seems vague on this issue. Other there any other issues with the Chinese version?
Appreciate your help.
As far as i'm aware, you can actually re brand the Chinese variant to EU.
Not sure if the version of android on it has Google Play services, or an English language selection, but language packs can be downloaded.
BUT! you will get the OS updates before us lot with EU versions.... who are still stuck on B182, China have got B360 which is oreo.
Either way, its a good buy, destroys the s8 in benchmarks, and just the right size to not be too small or too big in the hand.
There 3 differents STF Chinese honor 9:
AL00
AL10
TL10
I've got an AL00 rebranded to L09 and it's working great, like an European model but without LTE BANDS 7(2600) & 20(800).
Thanks for the responses. I thought the Chinese variants of the honor 9 were the same as Xiaomi - only missing band 20? I'm on EE which doesn't need band 20 but I believe does need 2600mhz (band 7). Any ideas? Thanks
https://m.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=8704&idPhone2=8704#europe,al00
You could change phone version on this link, I think LTE BANDS are corrects but there is errors on size and colors.
Thanks. EE state that most of their 4g coverage is with band 3 so should be Ok! Thanks for the responses guys.
I wouldn't expect huawei to use a different LTE chip in each phone, that would require 2 different versions of the kirin 960, which wouldn't be in the interests of the development cost of the phone.
I'd assume its an OS limitation, since AL10/100 firmwares will run on L09 models after rebranding, and vice-versa.

I'd like it to be true.
Do baseband is inside Kirin 960 cpu chip or in another chip?
The way I see it they ship differents variations with differents nand & ram sizes, so maybe they could switch others things without adding tremendous producing cost.
Or they are the same but phoned still keep their original LTE bands over the publicly available rebranding guides.
Thinking about buying this phone. Can you guys tell me the common issues with this phone? The one I'm most concerned with is the headphone jack, does it produce hiss sound at low volume? I ask this since I came across a lot of phones with that issue. Thanks in advance

I personally don't experience hissing on this phone. As far as issues, it involves the OTA from Vendor Roms which bricked some devices. You can check your ROM version and cross reference it with the ones on the Mi website to make sure. Aside from that, I don't see anything wrong with the phone.
Hi, I'm also considering to buy Note 5 and I just wanted to say that I don't have that problem with Note 4, it doesn't mean much since I don't use N5 but I think there is very very little chance for hissing issue in any device produced in 2017.

Hi, when I purchased seller offer also a global variant for 40 usd more.
Many people confuse about global device version and global firmware that it´s not the same.
You just have to pay special attention to the bands that is enabled, the global version has more bands enabled, by i.e my version that is a non global doesn´t have LTE bands 2 (1900) nor 4 (1700/2100) it mean that in my country it can´t work on 4G (of course I bought it so it is cause I didn´t need). This is the main difference.

Why do you say that has B4? Where you saw it?
Look at this info, just 4G apparted, this is a non-global version from a chinese seller you can find these specs;
4G FDD LTE B5:850 /B8:900 /B3:1800 /B1:2100 /B7:2600
TD LTE B38:2600 /B39:1900/ B40:2300 /B41:2500 MHz
TD or TDD is the LTE FOR China, look up FDD LTE bands.
And this is a Global version, seller usually put in a red highlighted the bands added
4G: FDD LTE B5:850 /B8:900 /B3:1800 /B1:2100 /B7:2600 /B4:1700 /B20:800;
TD LTE B38:2600 / B40:2300
Differences here are bands 4 for Latin America and guess some regions of Asia and maybe others and band 20 for Spain.

I mentioned that because my 4g shouldn't work but it appears in the notification bar.
I bought the "Official Global ROM" (I saw it is not the Global Version)
FDD LTE B3:1800/B1:2100/B7:2600/B5:850/B8:900MHz
TDD LTE B34:2100/B38:2600/B39:1900/B40:2300/B41:2500MHz

No, if your device hasn´t these two added bands definitely it´s not a global version (global rom concept mean nothing for this) is a hardware limitation although can work within 4G depending on your company carrier in some of the 5 frequencies enabled.
I have a Chinese RN5, it has loads of bands dudes. The chance of it not working on your network are slim.
As for the headphones dilemma, they do not hiss or produce low volume. Altho if you pair them with Xiaomi Pro HD which have a high impedance then you will notice a lack in volume. That can be easily fixed with Dolby Atmos the Magisk Module.
