I know this has been mentioned in several posts but nothing I have seen compiling a bunch of peoples opinions into one post..So here goes:
Out of the 6.1 and 6.5 ROMs what do you see as being the fastest ROM - fastest as in responsiveness to screen taps, scrolling, animations etc.. And also fast as in how well will it play movies (I know this is a very subjective one as results will vary with how the movie has been encoded).
My results have been:
Fastest - Michy's 6.5 Clean Edition; It seems to scroll very well, load opera fast and when i load up SPB 3 on it the animations to screen swipes are smother that any other ROM. Issues are batt life seems to be a lot less than other 6.1 ROM's. I also notice the Bluetooth seems to not cut out as much with this ROM so that's a plus.
Downside is there are a few bugs still in this ROM (I know Mitchy is and has worked hard to iron them out..and many thanks to him for that!!)
Movies seem to play (for me) better with this ROM as well. the same movie will have less lag and sound sync issues with this ROM..almost like there is a better driver in this ROM for graphics? Also I did not add any codec bundles or anything...just as the ROM came and added CorePlayer..
I still find myself using the Mitchy's Clean 6.1 ROM just due to almost no bugs and longer batt life...almost as fast if you keep as much RAM free as you can with it but still not as fast as his 6.5 ROM I currently have about 62 MB with everything installed that i like to run on it.
Please post your take on what you find is faster for you and your setup.
My setup:
Mitchy 6.1 Clean ROM
Programs Added:
SPB 3
SoftMaker office 2008 - loaded on mem card
Memaid
Calendar Touch
Resco Radio
WMWifiRouter
C-ApiSRO (XM and Sirius player)
Core Player
Google maps
Opera
MSVC
WinMobileTorrent
Numpty (great game!)
After Soft reset:
free Storage - 95.64
free Program - 61.25
for the 6.5 ROM the RAM was about 14MB less with all the same loaded..would love to get all this onto a very clean 6.5 ROM and see how much better the performance can be!
Just wish I had the know-how to cook ROM's!
Please post your results too
Just saw it from opera. Administrator pls delete if someone already post it. (i searched and it is no)

the link above doesn't work.
I'm very disapointed... Check out how it formats the pages, looks like crap compared to 9.5... I've tried many sites and they all look so much better in 9.5. I was really hoping they would have fixed this since the 9.7 beta...
The UI feels nothing new since I've been using Opera Mini 5 since it was released... This looks very much the same...
still no flash support.

I think we have to wait for adobe to release the full flash 10.1 for mobiles...
works well in elfin thanks
Doesn´t work on my Touch HD. It starts, but then it stopps saying on the top bar Opera Mobile 10 beta and i can´t press any button and no page is coming up. Thought it would make some autoconfiguration for the first time, but even after 5 minutes nothing happens. Ok it´s stil beta, but shouldn´t it at least start?
It's work fine on my hd!
At the first time you must start it from start menu, so it complete the setup process with the aknowledgement, after you can use from internet tab!
Someone use landscape mode, i didn't find it...
Bookmarks ?
Hello,
how can i import older Bookmark in Opera 10 ?
Rename the opera6.adr in anyone else or something?

Sorry for my bad english...
Damn no flash support still up till now
Oh I thought they have flash support this time. but otherwise they have done a good job.
Am I the only one who thinks the official 9.7 beta was better???
It used the accelerometer on my Diamond and had really cool animation effects when tilting the device into landscape and other stuff....
Is there a way to enable accelerometer in Opera 10???
Also is this version not opengl accelerated like 9.7 was, besides the new "improved" UI I think this version is a step back from 9.7.
I don`t know some peoples already say about the new Opera 10 its nothing more than all other versions but i don`t think so.
1st when i install on my HD this beta i saw its much more faster than the 9.7 or 9.5 Also the view of the pages is much more better and clear and all the menus of the opera are just fast and awsome.
On the same time i just test for how long will load a page.
For example i choice a random page and i use Opera 9.5 then use Opera 10 for the same page in the same internet connection and i can say that this 10 BETA is minimum 3 times faster than the old Opera.
The Only bad things is that still not have a full Flash support but soon this will be fixed and then we will have a awsome fast beauty Browser for our devices
Maybe depends from ROM`s or....
If this matter im with NRG ROM from the signature.
I really don't like the single touch zooming, how annoying is that everytime I click a link it zoomes in and I have to zoom out again...
don't know if this is a good development, it is defenately quick, but it lacks in quite a few things.

Compare it to Opera mobile 9.5 and you will see that 9.5 shows the pages exactly as they look on the PC in overview mode... Opera 10 makes the sites look bad since it wraps the columns in overview before you've zoomed in. I can't stand using this browser until they've fixed this issue.
The turbo mode on 10 is a lot slower than the turbo mode in opera mini 5 beta. Very disappointed, as most times I don't care for perfect rendering...just want to be able to read what I want to read quickly.
I'll continue to use mini as my main browser, as it also uses a lot less memory. 10 is nice if I need to do some "real" web browsing though.
Is anyone else missing Opera link, it was great for Mini, but still not on 9.5-9.7-10, saw somewhere that it was not included on 9.7 as it was a beta, but if all they release is beta's then its never gonna happen (
...
Any way, how to set Zoom more then 200%? Google reader text quite small on my Diamond.
Hi, Where does opera 10 install itself. I would really like to try it out but i do not want it to touch any of my opera 9.5 files in any way.
So I got bored today and decided to review browsers by benchmarking them and giving a general description of each with their pros and cons... So here goes.
FYI:
- Browsermark is a somewhat popular benchmarking service I found.
- My setup I am using: Ineffabilis Deus unlocked/s-off nothing else
- I am using my home wifi. To eliminate any possible 3g/4g issues
- I tested each browser 3 times and chose the middle score of the 3.
- I had previously unistalled the stock browser so no HTC contestant here.
1. Boat Browser
Score: 69580
Review: Very clean browser using relatively little space. Quick at loading most everything. Has flash. The only con I've really noticed is that the search bar can be counter intuitive some times. Basic features with themeing capability.
2. Boat Browser Mini
Score: 72946
Review: Half the size of boat browser with less interface customization. Still includes minor theme support and is suprisingly quick. Flash supported.
3. Chrome (stable)
Score: 84518
Review: Now stable release. Suprised its the highest? Me neither. Best when it comes to its ability to extend your desktop's chrome with its bookmarks and tab syncing. Does not support flash and has a somewhat buttonless interface. Lack of customization currently. And boy does this thing suck up memory. 55mb for me.
4. Dolphin HD
Score: 78076
Review: A solid second place but this comes with some bulk. The gesture system built in is nice but it can be a hassle. Now it has included a S-Voice knock off. Basically this is what firefox is but on you phone... and good.
5. Dolphin Mini
Score: 64019
Review: Probably the best interface in the bunch. Still has gesture for those who like it. Ugly green themeing. Unfotunately has lost favor from dev and has only seen 2 updates over the last year. Has some redraw issues occasionaly.
6. Opera Mobile
Score: 23012
Review: Really? That bad? Some people swear by it and I think it is nice but wow. Has good dev support and has a clean interface similar to boat. Doesn't seem to like some websites that are graphic intensive.
7. Firefox ("NEW")
Score: 40651
Review: WAAAYYY better interface. runs a little smoother. Benchmark dropped a ton from 54k to 41k... they are getting closer and farther away at the same time.
Additional:
Opera Mini and Opera Mini Next both failed the rendering tests. Most likely due to data compression systems that have been built in to the browsers.
Ninesky failed the specifically the 4th rendering test. Not sure why.
Maxthon failed the DOM test on browsermark. I have no clue why.
nice, thanks. I mainly use stock browser but I have chrome beta installed.
If anyone is willing to take a couple of minutes to run the HTC stock browser through this test and to anyone using the Stock ICS browser like on slimrom.
shoot me the results and I'll post them. Remember use wifi.
updated to reflect new firefox and stable chrome.
Hi guys,
I know it's not a specific question about mate 10 but I noticed that chrome drains a lot of battery on my mate 10 pro.
So I would like to know which browser do you use.
I'm looking for a light browser without success.
Moreover some browsers xbrowser and via work good but after some time they didn't work properly anymore without explication... Did you experiment sames issues?
Don't try opera mini because I know it and it appears that interface is a bit old..
Cheers
I usually use chrome but I've heard good things about the Samsung browser.

Firefox with unlock or Samsung browser with adblock fast
Inviato dal mio BLA-L29 utilizzando Tapatalk
Trying actually Samsung internet and it seems very very good.
Thanks guys!!!
Opera, it's very practical.
The mobile version of firefox ... I hate it
I use Chrome for everyday browsing and the Samsung one for all my bookmarked stuff due to the built in Adblock feature
Samsung browser is very good in fact and very battery friendly compared to chrome.
Have been using the Samsung Internet Browser BETA because it is already patterned to One Ui. it also allows fingerprint log in even using a non-samsung phone. Enjoying it on my Mate 10. Battery efficiency, Ad-blocking feature, and most of all, DARK MODE for late night reading.
Been using kiwi browser since it can export/import bookmarks and is a fork of chrome which doesn't let me backup bookmarks.
But I am trying Samsung browser from link above. It isn't that bad, I will give it a shot for a few days and see if I want to permanently switch.
I use tenta browser for it's built-in vpn abilities too
Kiwi browser
On Pie there's performance mode that's OFF by default. I think Oreo it's ON (without switch), so Chrome uses 100% cpu when loading websites and that drains battery a lot more than 90%.
Try opera touch. This is one of the fastest and smoothest browser for mate 10
Im surprised nobody mentioned Microsoft Edge. The UI is clean and most importantly it has capability to block ads and remove the blank spaces of the removed ads so the page looks more unified and neater. I tried samsung browser it could block ads as well but it doesnt remove the blank spaces.
I use oh browser available on playstore and xda. Really the best.... Try it
I use edge! Many have problems to install just because it's from Microsoft, but the fact is that it is a top browser. Simple, clean, easy and fast.

yandex browser. on mobile and also on pc
Brave Browser. Based on Chromium very lightweight and doesn't consume a lot of battery. Has an integrated ad blocker.

I use Firefox on both desktop and mobile phone for years. No problems at all, very fast, plenty add-ons and customizations, sync of all data with all connected devices etc.
Hello, I'm making this thread in the hopes to answer the question nobody asked. My daily driver the Stylo 5 died for no reason and I'm back to using this phone. upon looking if anybody has done anything new with this phone I wanted to try out all the custom roms and log my personal opinion about each of them. You may not agree but these are by opinions.

Very similar to RR v7 but the wifi speed is slower at 1mbps!!! To me the UI speed is laggier and not better than my favorite RR.
I appriciate all the developers who worked to make the Zmax Pro usable, because we all know stock is broken
If you are still rocking the ZTE please let me know your personal favorite!
