Ok so i have looked and looked and am lost!!! Can someone point me in the right direction on where to find rom cooking info. I have downloaded a kitchen but im not sure what tool to use??? thanks all
Josh
why not go over to DCD's 2.3.0 thread and read his instructions. If you've already unlocked your phone, then it's a simple double click and fill out some checkboxes, then have a coke and a smile.
I'm trying to figure out what each of the checkboxes means. I'm sure this is documented somewhere, but for some reason it's not in the main post. The main post seems to assume that you've already cooked ROMs before. This is my first HTC (although I've done a lot of Palm ROM editing in the past.)
I just recently jumped on the boat from 6700 to Mogul and cooked my first ROM the other day and let me tell you, it's not easy finding straight forward instructions on how to do it but the info is out there... Your not the first to ask this question and I'm sure you won't be the last... I read around the forum for about 3 days and gathered everything I needed to know... The best thing is that you're nearly forced to read some threads from begining to end which provides a lot of great insight to the underground world of Titan Modding...
My advise is to look around, gather all the info you need and then ask specific questions about the update process... People are more willing to give specific advise as opposed to detailing a step by step...
Best of luck...
Alright I'm new to the whole android scene, I made the switch from blackberries to the Aria. Love it so far, I've done as much research as I can on it and for the life of me can't figure out the whole Rooting process and everything along with it. I've read what is does and wouldn't consider myself the best with computers but I do know some things. So I was wondering if there is a guide anywhere to explain the process more in depth, for beginners per-say. I've done numerous Os upgrades to my bb's but its 1000X's easier. So any and all info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance and sorry I've this is in the wrong section/ or its already been answered and I just can't find it.
John
P.S. I've read the guide on here and was wondering if theres a more in depth version of that. Thanks
I'm not sure if this answer is gonna help you much, but attn1's guide (most likely the one you read) is pretty much THE guide to go-to for rooting our lovely little Arias. Its as detailed as you can get, which unfortunately means you need a little know how around things like installing the Android SDK, using Command Line prompts (i.e. Terminal in OSX, what I used to root my Aria), and add a LOT of patience. There are guides for all of these, but I don't think you can get any more detailed than those, at the moment.
I believe there is research going on for a much easier, beginner-proof method to root the Aria. For now, however, we are left with the "more difficult" method. Its not too bad, but mistakes can be costly. As I said before too, it could take 1 try.. or 1000 tries to get it rooted.. so patience is definitely a virtue.
Hello everyone! Heard a lot of good things about this site so thought I'd sign up and give it a go. Been having lots of issues with ICS (all three stock releases for my phone - E4GT). I'm fine with running (and actually prefer) EL29 anyway. I would, however, like to give my phone a fresher theme.
I found http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1323763 and thought it was beautiful, plus everyone raved about it. But...the Download link is dead. The last page of the (closed) Thread suggested anyone looking for it see if someone could email it or link a working Download mirror. I tried looking everywhere, but can't seem to find any active mirrors, so would someone be kind enough to point me in the right direction?
Thanks so much and sorry if it's posted somewhere and I missed it!
Hello.
This is my first post so sorry if it's in the wrong area or has already been answered in FAQs somewhere that I've missed.
I'm looking for a rooting guide plus software links for Samsung S3 mini, GT-i8190n on 4.1.2.
Never tried rooting a phone before but I know what I'm doing with computers so, hopefully, won't need spoon feeding. Just a nice pointer
in the right direction, maybe some tips and some time to mess around a bit.
A guide with instructions on making a clone image too of the original OS ISO file would be great if anyone know where there might be one!
Thanks!!
I found this, might be what you're looking for.:

Thanks pal, looks good. I'll give it a try.
OK, that one has messed up my hotspot... :/
Any ideas where a fix might be?
The root worked great though.
Hello, I was just wondering the best way to root the AT&T Samsung Note SGH-I717. I have looked up many ways but every time I scroll down to the comments I read everyone is having problems. I would just like the best and most proven way to root the phone. I use the phone with straight talk, it is an unlocked att phone, will rooting the phone affect anything with Straight Talk? I am new to rooting so please be detailed and give me links to get everything I need. Thank You so much.

so here is the deal, here are 2 methods with very subtle differences. you didn't say what your phone was running now, so here are my suggestions.......
READ, READ, READ
I know you are new here, and I was once too. I went through all of this and was very nervous about the process. (no real reason to be)
I spent a good 2 weeks reading so I would feel confident about what I was doing. I would read through these and figure which is better for you or which you feel more confident in using. they would both work fine depending on your situation or what you phone is running. because these threads are older, you may run into an issue as to where the download files are not active anymore. that is where a recent Google search could come into play. you say you have read the comments for different methods have had negative results. problem is you don't know whether that person followed the directions correctly or whether they were just in a hurry and missed something.
that's why I posted both these threads. compare to what you have read. I have a habit of going to the back of the threads and read forward. this tells me what the most recent problems may have been and if there is a solution. though the files may or may not be active, you can always get the file. its the PROCESS which is correct. compare them.
as I said........... READ, READ, READ
it puts you in the situation to help yourself first
take your time, do as the process suggests. I even rehearsed it several times. due to my lack of experience, I wanted to be as prepared as possible in case something went wrong.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1518962
both of these threads are from very reputable members of the community. as all threads will suggest......they are NOT responsible for what you do. make sure you are ready. watch Youtube tutorals, compare processes, have your files loaded and where you have easy access, read and rehearse.
take your time
whatever you need to do to feel confident. if something goes wrong....KNOW what you are going to do next. if you don't know where you went wrong in process or deviated from it, then others cant help.
good luck and I hope I have helped
edit.......
just saw this...this is at the back of Da G 's thread. suggested by AGOATTAMER. he is the man when it comes to having old links to process. this IS the one I used, that I couldn't find.
