Bugs:Bugs happen. Our testers are very good at breaking things, but no where near as good as the rest of the Android public. In order to investigate and fix issues, we need the help of the users who are going to report them. The Android OS has many nifty features to help us in this, but only if we can engage the user to assist us.
Logs, Logcat, and the Android Debugging Bridge (ADB)
Like any other OS, Android has multiple log files that are generated and record the goings-on of the system. As a user, you have two basic ways to view and pull these to send to us. Without the information in the logfiles, there simply is not a whole lot of information to go on.
Log file APKs
I recommends SysLog or alogcat from the Android Market. This application will allow you to selectively pick any (or all) of the system logs, compress them into a .ZIP file, and allow you to save, email, move to your Copy/DropBox/Cloud Storage account, etc.
ADB Logcat
The Android Debugging Bridge (ADB) is a powerful tool available from Google as part of the Android Software Development Kit (SDK). Used for many things, being able to selectively see, in real-time, what your device is doing cannot be downplayed. While there is more setup involved, if you are doing consistent ROM flashing, you really should invest the time to get setup properly to do it.

great keep it up guys ???

Deep sleep?

My setup experience
1) Installed as stated in the OP (minus the skipping setup part)
2) Staying at Google boot logo long enough to make me think there was an issue - maybe 10 seconds.
3) Boot animation was very slow and choppy at first, but then sped up - also make me think there may be an issue.
4) Initial boot took about 15 minutes, then sat at a black screen for about 4 minutes after that. Then the blue setup screen came on.
5) I deviated from skipping setup and put in my info, selected a backup to restore and went through the steps. The setup completed successfully and the backup is now restoring. Going to leave it plugged-in while restoring and doing it's behind the scenes stuff, but so far this ROM is super smooth!
Bottom line - follow the OP and BE PATIENT!

If you use any gapps other than mentioned in OP.. You might get black screen initially. We will need to wait for open gapps to resolve their issues - I don't wish to integrate same in ROM for various reasons.

Just flashed the rom with the gapps from the OP.
The phone is insanely hot and is stuck at 90%+ CPU right when its done booting. As for now completely unusable.
I only flasked Magisk 14.0 with it. Anyone else with this problem?

No one is going to help u with your tone. Secondly don't start this crap in here. One oreo thread has already been closed. It's a beta for a reason.

What tone and what crap? I am exactly describing what is happening, doesn't matter if it's beta or not. If a rom is not functional users should be notified of it. No reason for people to try a rom that can't be used because the CPU is stuck at 100% usage.
The reason I responded it because a user said it was working smooth.

This is not the case for me, so I was wondering what was going wrong.
If this is something that is just my device, then other users can tell me. Great way to start some drama in thread....

Does it use oxygen RIL like paranoid and sultan's rom?
Nice, another Uber compiled rom=D
edit: btw does it have double tap to wake? cant seem to find info on that
Edit2: Nevermind, flashed and saw it has gestures. Btw supersu is not included! You might want to correct the first post=p
Good work mate!
Straight to the point thoughts on this ROM:
(1)It is super smooth.
(2)Restore Oxygen EFS using TWRP to get stable reception.
(3)Customization is minimal but that's OK considering the stability of the rom. The phone feels like Nexus.
(4)On lock screen, battery percentage disappears from Status Bar.
(5)Battery Life seems to be above average. Can report on that after a Day.
This will be my daily driver for quite a long time. Great Work Dev.
Btw,I used OpenGapps Nano package.
Thanks for the rom wil try today. Was using aosp-caf till now. But whats the difference in this one

t2w is located under the display settings. And about SuperSU, I'm not gonna edit that, you might wanna flash the next build!
Possible bug just want someone to confirm it's not on my end. When I use circle gesture for camera it stops at lock screen. Not a big deal never use it just doing my part.

Do you have multiple camera apps installed ? May be that is the reason. You need to select a default app after that it should work. I don't have this ROM at the moment, so can't say if it's working.
this is awesome rom man ! THE rom that i was searching for years ! just setup the usual setting already makes me happy ! oh man im in love :silly::silly::silly:
a big thanks to Dev for the rom. :good::good:
Hi @rohitporoli , im kind new to this but may i ask where is the su.d folder ? i flashed superSU 2.65 and suppose to have /su/su.d right ? please advise
First, I want to thank You for this fantastic optimized, smooth and great looking rom. I'm using it since yesterday an i think it has a great potential Also battery life with stock kernel is phenomenal at standby atleast
For now i found one bug: when camera is on and i rotate the phone vertical every options on left edge of screen are visible. But when i rotate the phone horizontal to take photo all options are gone. It means options are there, You can click on them, but you can't see them.
I can't find option to touch right upper corner of screen and pull out all quick settings.
I'm still testing this rom , but I think it will be my new daily driver.

Open supersu and then install backup scripts if it prompts, may be that's when it creates the folder. Check inside one of those folders, priv-app probably. I don't know much about this su.d, just giving you leads. I m on tipsy and have it inside system.

It is not booting up as secondary ROM (in SD card)...seems some prob with multirom as most of ROMs are not booting up from SD card. Let me try from my phone memory (though it has very little space )
This looks quite impressive, I'm definitely going to try this. Thanks s.sawrav!
Does this ROM support OTA updates or we have to update it manually?
@s.sawrav This ROM supports f2fs? Because I've flashed it and is not booting at all :/
EDIT: I tried to get logcat when booting, as I did with DU, but nothing goes out... I'm trying with the Immortal kernel version you did for me for DU to see if I can get to boot it. I don't know why I have problems with this rom... CM and Mokee for example work flawlessly.
EDIT 2: It booted with the kernel you did for me on the DU thread. I really have no idea what happens with my device, and I'm quite tired of this issue. Is there anything that I can do to avoid this issue?
Many thanks!

OTA has not been implemented yet,but it'll be in the future release's,till then update it manually.

F2fs is not supported, btw i doubt that the kernel I gave for you in DU may work, but you can give it a try,let me know how it turns out meanwhile I'll make you another kernel for you to test out for zephyr when i have the time.

I edited my post again, it booted. But I find substratum quite buggy. I applied a theme and right now i cannot enter my pin code to unlock my sim. Ok, so if f2fs is not supported it explains why is not booting, I really don't understand what's going on. As I said, with the fix you gave me it booted fine.
Many thanks!

Good to know that the kernel worked for you for now just after flashing ROM flash the kernel, may i know your device variant again? Also about substratum is in beta so you've got to expect some bug's but so far that i used it,it's working really well and I'm quite liking it,specially the combo of dark material theme and blur tweaks looks really good to me,also i haven't faced any issue's till now(I'm still on zephyr),although i haven't locked my sim.

I have a Redmi 2 2014811 1GB RAM, the Substratum issue I think it's because I applied a theme on top of another and maybe it messed up something. Blur looks quite nice I must admit, maybe it could be added to recent apps too?
Tell me anything I can do to help yo to identify the problem, it's strange that I'm the only one... . I did a clean install with internal storage wipe too. Last time with DU I had Miui Lollipop installed and that maybe bring that problem. After that I flashed Miui kitkat with mi flash tool, and since then I've only been using CM13/Mokee. That's all that I can tell you. As I said, if you need anything I'll try to provide it.
Many thanks for your work!
EDIT: BTW, could you provide me an updated kernel with the same fix? I see this rom has native DT2W and with that kernel it doesn't seem to work. Many thanks!
Thanks s.sawrav for the ROM, I'm testing now.
A silly question, How do I launch the recent apps menu?

I think by default is by long pressing the home button, but I'm not sure, as I changed it. In the vortex section, on settings you can change the hardware buttons behavior as you want.

Alright I'll see what can be done,i have my exam tomorrow and since after i rejoined my college after a long hiatus due to my health issue i have been busy with college as i have a lot of things to catch up, so I'll definitely work on your issue but only when i have the time apart from ROM releases and college, also about dt2w natively is a bit experimental and seems to be not working natively although from KA it work's but as far as i remember the kernel i gave you didn't hhave dt2w,if it's there it'll be in KA.The kenrel base's are different for your kernel and the kernel source that i use,but i think i know which commit fixes your issue,I'll incorporate that in my main kenrel as long as it doesn't causes conflict with any other things,I'll put a test build for you as soon as I'm free.

Many thanks!! Of course your health and college go first. And also if I'm the only one with this issue you don't need to break your workflow only for me.
Don't spend too much time with this, as isn't something critical and it doesn't seem to affect anyone but me.
In calls, other side facing echo when i am using speaker. Is it something to do with ROM or any other settings.
And i used ARISE mod, it very awesome. Form very normal phone i am getting high quality sound.
Edit
Full phone number is not showing in incoming calls, only 8 digits are showing.
I am using this Beautiful ROM for 3 days.I can say the best ROM for better RAM management. Working like butter.
1) I think substratum has some bugs .But I will not complain about this bcz substratum is on beta version.
2) should I update sabtratum via play store? As I am getting a update .
3)In the first boot after boot animation it is taking a 8-10 seconds to go in language setup .in that few second it is getting black screen.Didn't encounter this in any other ROM.
3)not booting as primary or secondary ROM in multirom .
4)Plz implement OTA.
But overall butter smooth ROM.
@s.sawrav VoLTE worked for me on this ROM.
I am using Reliance JIO.

We’re really excited to announce that we are releasing our Nougat flavour of Paranoid Android. We have a lot in store - with a mix of both features & improvements.
First & foremost, we have moved our code base to be fully CAF based. This brings many improvements to your device. The key improvement here is that Qualcomm hardware is better tuned on the CAF base and with our additional optimizations we can provide a smooth and fluid user experience that will let you enjoy using your device without any lags.
On first launch you’ll notice a clean setup with a beautiful wallpaper from Hampus Olsson who’s teamed up with us again and created several beautiful pieces of artwork. For those of you who don’t know, Hampus is a multi-disciplinary artist whose work stands itself and we’re glad to have him onboard. We have also added several new features and made improvements to the UI of the system that we believe would enhance the overall experience.
Pie
We’ve been working hard on redesigning this key feature of our portfolio and we’re really happy with how it has turned out. The whole design has been reworked and it fits in well with the overall feel of Google’s Material Design. This gives you the opportunity to use more gesture based control for navigating, rather than using the standard Navigation Bar at the bottom of your screen. Expect improvements and additions in the future.
Color Engine
We’re proud to announce our newest feature - Color Engine. Color Engine allows you to seamlessly change the colors of your device to be in Light, Dark (Pixel) and Black modes with a variety of accent colors to choose from. This makes changing the theme of your device really quick without having to install any extra packages on your device.
Pocket Lock
This feature prevents any form of accidental input when your device is in your pocket by disabling input sources. You can simply release Pocket Lock by long pressing the power button as highlighted by the minimal UI incase of any sort of obstruction or dust on the sensors.
Accidental Touch
Accidental Touch is a feature useful for many, especially the gamers out there. It prevents any sort of accidental touch on hardware buttons while the touchscreen is in use. This means you won’t experience any unexpected behaviour while playing games, web browsing or even when attempting to reach your finger out to the edge of that humongous display.
Major features:
- Reworked Pie
- Color engine
- Pocket lock
- Immersive mode
- Buttons customization (including navigation bar)
- On the spot controls (OTS)
Minor features:
- SafetyNet Compatibility
- Battery/Notification LED control
- Recent tasks locking
- Battery icon customization
- Google now page in default launcher
- Accidental touch
- Three finger swipe Screenshot
- Substratum (OMS) support (Color engine will be deactivated if you use Substratum)
- Quick pull down
- Various performance and battery improvements
- Display Burn-in protection (for OLED screens)
- More to explore
Note: Custom kernels are explicitly unsupported and will cause issues
unless they state that they are AOSPA compatible or AOSPA based!

Hey there, I want to thank you very much for provinding us another great Oreo ROM!
I just got 2 questions about it:
You said, it is based on "LOS based AOSP".. Does that mean now, you use the trees from lineage OR aosp?
And I want to know, if the mobile network standby drain is a common issue on your ROM?

Regarding to mobile standby drain;
I tried every 8.1 ROM until now, I'm now on extened AOSP and you can see on the screenshot below, after 3½ SOT your drain shouldnt be that high..
But I will try out your ROM in the next days
Thank you for your work.:good:

I tried on RR 8.1 the option, to disable mobile network standby while my display is locked, but I wont get any calls or messages on whatsapp after that... So this ain't a solution for me

I tested all the ROMs, your ROM is excellent, the drain in night was 1%, have 2 hours of SOT after the 14 hours the last recharge and have 58% percent of the battery, equivalent 19 hours remaining. In calls sound is very good, never lags. loving the rom.
Congratulation again!!!

WE NOW HAVE AN OFFICIAL TELEGRAM GROUP - StatiXOS @ Telegram.
Features
Right now you are gonna find a mixed StatiX/AOSP experience as this is a brand new project:
Spark Settings Panel introduced.
Always-On Display enabled (on devices that support it).
Smart Pixels enabled (on devices that support it).
Advanced reboot
Dark mode and accent theming
Statusbar battery styles
Known issues
Well, these issues are not that annoying after all.
A few bugs related to Wireless Hotspot: 5GHz not working for all countries;
VoLTE doesn't work: for instance if you are a Verizon user the phone will fall back to 2G when a call is incoming.
FI USERS: Download the Fi official where WFC works (only on Fi, other carriers will have the issue above.)
A few notes before you proceed
Before going straight to the download section there’s something we would like to tell you: we have changed the default encryption method for the phone, migrating to File-Based Encryption (you can get more information on the official Google documentation page). In order to get this encryption mode working, you will need to use our custom recovery (compiled from the latest source) which is compatible with this encryption and, just for the first time, you will have to wipe your internal data - so, backup your data before proceeding.
Installation instructions
Note: If your phone only has 4 cores, download the BLOD patch (you can find it in the download section), flash our recovery.img from your working TWRP and then install the BLOD patch.
Grab our recovery from the downloads section and install it.
- THROUGH TWRP:
Install Zip > Install Image > Choose ‘recovery.img’ > Select partition ‘Recovery’ > Swipe to confirm flash- OR THROUGH FASTBOOT:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Install the official ROM, GApps and then wipe your internal data partition.
- THROUGH TWRP
Wipe > Format data- OR THROUGH FASTBOOT
Code:
fastboot -w
Reboot into system and wait until the process finishes, it could take a little bit. After the installation is done I suggest waiting before using the phone because it usually goes into thermal throttling after installing a ROM.

Q&A
I will use this second post for giving some Q&A about the current build.
Q: After I make a call the phone application disappears and I can't close the call nor I can input numbers, what can I do?
A: In order to properly use the phone calls you will have to set the default Phone application (this will be fixed in the next releases), to do so follow these steps:
Open Settings
Move to Apps & notifications
Scroll down and open Default apps
Tap on Phone app and then on Phone (even though it's already checked)
Go back and you will see Phone set as default application
Q: I can't connect to hidden WiFi AP, what can I do?
A: In order to connect to hidden AP you need to set the hidden flag otherwise the phone won't be able to connect to it. You can find this option under the Advanced section while you add a new network.
Q: After installing the rom I needed to put in a password. Now suddenly last week not any more.
A: FBE works differently from FDE.
When you set a fingerprint, for instance, you will be required to add either a PIN or a password — when you do, you will have to enter such password to decrypt your storage as well.
Logically speaking, if you remove the fingerprint (or password / PIN) you won't be asked to add such code in TWRP anymore.
Q: I want to protect my nudes, so I need to encrypt my phone. What do I do?
A: Flash the latest FBE build and recovery. Do not flash Magisk before encrypting your phone otherwise you'll end in a bootloop.
Q: Google Feed is empty/blank?
A: Open Google app and then force close it. Go back to Google Feed and it should be fine.
Q: Some Google app shows login error?
A: Flash latest Open GApps.
Q: Can I use an Oreo (8.1) kernel with this ROM?
A: Yes. Any Oreo kernel *should* work - but some users reported that random reboot may occur.
Q: I'm running a stable build. Can I dirty flash a testing build?
A: No. You can only dirty flash a stable build over a stable build and a testing build over a testing build. So if you want to flash a testing build over a stable build, you'll have to clean flash.
Q: I tried to install 8.1 but my phone goes into bootloop, what can I do?
A: The ROM flashes the vendor partition, this means that you will have to reflash the stock vendor image release by Google. You can find the image on this website or inside the whole factory image found on Google developers page.
Q: Phone app disappears after answering a call/can't close the call?
A: Settings > Apps & notifications > Default apps and tap on phone app and then on Phone (even though it's already checked).
Q: Sparks menu is empty?
A: Yes. It's still in development.
Q: How to install Magisk?
A: Flash Magisk zip file via recovery. After that install Magisk Manager via apk file to make it show up in the app drawer.
Thanks to @simarguram for taking care of this section.

Yes, I was in hurry since I derped the first creation of the thread.
The initial release doesn't have any changes because there's not another publicly available release to compare with, but I can tell we went through a lot of compilations and debug routines - you can check our source code here.
Thanks for building,I will try it
Great job, thanks to the developer!
installed. will let you know further. booted fine.
Great News, As long as calls working its fine by me, I'll flash it today

Thank you very much for your feedback.
I find the chance to give a feedback as well, the new build is at 70% with about 20K targets remaining.
As I said before the new version will have a fix for the Camera, we will stop using GApps as prebuilt (you will have to flash them separately) and the ROM should become user release with official signature.
thx, waiting for the new build !

its working smooth. as you said camera is not working on this build. In next build it will. apart from that everything is working. wifi, data, calling, etc. all the things that i was able to check in short span work well.

We are going to add more features once we pass the second phase of user release, we still need to enforce SELinux (that's gonna arrive soon as well).
Once we are sure that everything is working properly you will start seeing new features, actually me and the lead developer are eager to add features and we will soon.

I am so happy that you are feeling the smoothness as well, as you can see here I have camera working on my end due to the recent commits we made that are not available in the temporary build I posted.
Keep testing it, also follow the second post in order to get a fully functional Phone application (just a few steps, nothing much).
Great work!
Flashed the [temporary] build. Everything that has been listed as working, work really well. Also, I had zero issues with CameraNX in the few minutes that I tested it for. Flashlight wasn't working on first boot, but it started to, a couple of reboots later. Everything feels so much more smoother than Oreo.
Thanks for still supporting angler

Yes, I forgot to report that on the temporary build third party application such as OpenCamera just work fine because they do not rely on the phone's media_profiles.
Check this commit if you want further details on it.
