I'm about to buy an 2nd Xperia X dual. But when i checked the DRM Security, MARLIN and MARLIN IMPORT line is missing. I'm really confused, is this phone still have DRM keys and the TA Partition is still ok to buy? Has anyone seen this before? Should i buy this phone. Thanks.

hi,
my device has locked bootloader and lists the same entries as the one you're showing in the picture.
reboot your device
if its gives WARNING
THIS DEVICE IS UNLOCKED CANNOT BE TRUSTED
this means bootloader is UNLOCKED and DRMKEY are LOST
If you DON'T get warning during reboot that the device cannot be trusted AND you can take pictures, drm keys are fine.

Yes, if the bootloader had been unlocked and then locked again you would not get the 'your device cannot be trusted' message during boot. But pictures taken during low low light conditions will look very noisy in that case as a result of lost drm keys.

Gsm 3d here...
I noticed that the face unlock code if light too low or can't recognize can be bypassed by simply pressing the ok button. actually unlocked with wrong password too.
Anyone else?
Could have been a recent mod I flashed.
welcome to custom roms. Until an official build is released, there will be bugs.

Bat signal for fix!
Mine asks if I want a pattern or PIN code while setting up the face unlock. I chose pattern and if the phone is unable to detect my face it asks for the pattern.
Only tried this on a few sense 3.6 ROMs.
Ok, so it was a zip I flashed that caused this to malfunction.
I setup the passcode for Facelock, then when it didn't recognize me, pressed the ok, or entered passcode incorrectly and it bypassed the security I put in place.
I restored a backup and can say that it no longer accepts incorrect passcode or just clicking ok.
Welcome to the world of flashing zips blindly, lol.
I'm holding out for retina scan (had to edit that before posting, originally wrote rectal scan. Hmmm.... a new idea, maybe not).:silly:
Picked up a 710 last week. For a "low-end" phone, I think it's pretty nice! But, one thing that's bothering me is this pretty noticeable banding at the top edge of the screen. You can really see it on a white screen.
Is this just how they come or is it something that they can fix? Isn't all that bothersome but kind of annoying knowing that its there lol
Here's a couple pics:

I went to my carrier today just to see what another 710 looked like and the banding was still there but it didn't seem as bad, so I don't know
ask for replacement , least you should get is one where its less noticable
If I send it in, should I lock the bootloader after restoring the carrier ROM to it? And if so, how lol
Can't seem to find that...

Oh no I understand that. My bootloader was locked initially though and I unlocked it to throw a new ROM on. You think they'd reject my phone if I send it in unlocked still with the carrier ROM restored or is there a way to lock it again (upgrade to DLOAD or whatever I guess)?
Hello. I have a Moto G4 Plus, still under warranty.
One evening, I go out with some friends, my phone is working normally.
In a bar I pull out my phone and try to look for an image on google, the phone starts to display some odd behaviour (the show all open apps screen kind of half fills the display with the browser filling the other half). I figure I'll forget about it and check later, I press power and put my phone in my pocket.
I wake up the next morning to a phone that won't boot, and this screen:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
When I try to put it into recovery mode, I get this screen:
Now I know that it says software status is 'Modified', but I swear, I have never modified this or any phone I have owned. I literally went out with friends one night with a working phone and returned with it in this state. I have tried going through official channels (Amazon won't replace it as they say the guarantee is with the manufacturer), it was sent to Motorola for repair but they refuse to repair it unless I pay 130 Euros, because they state it has been modified. I refused to pay that, and weeks of arguing with them that I have done nothing wrong went nowhere, so the brick has been returned to me.
I am trying to fix it myself, but it's proving very frustrating. Windows can't see the phone, despite me having installed Motorola Device Manager (which does see the backup Moto G3 I'm currently using, so that program is working correctly).
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The last version of Android where you could remotely change the device password if you got locked out of your phone was Kit Kat.
The only time I've heard of an update making the device stop recognizing the correct password is when a custom recovery is being used that can't properly decrypt data in which case the owner could boot back into TWRP and reformat the device memory.
In this case it sounds much more like somebody with a stolen phone trying to bypass the security set up by the legitimate owner.
As far as I know helping somebody do that still gets you banned from XDA.
If the OP here is the legitimate owner then there is probably a hardware problem with that phone and he should get it serviced under the warranty.
It's probably a script that's poorly written. Not necessarily the update.

Mate 20 pro wrong pin after update
Hi. I have the same problem. After the software update it ask for the pin.entered it but it says wrong. I dont want to do a hard reset because of my pictures and documents. Pleade help
I have some bad news for you, since your problem is (in fact) similar to this one : https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-20-pro/help/annoying-issue-mode-official-update-t3900123
There is a known issue with Huawei updates and any "password-lock" function
Hello everyone, a week ago I received my Mi 11 Lite 5G and the first thing I did was unlock the bootloader. Today I managed to unlock it and tried to install a custom ROM (xiaomi.eu). However, I had a problem that made the operation impossible. I forgot to activate the option "install via USB" thinking that this one was not important, obviously I underestimated it. My question is: do you have any solution to reinstall the basic ROM (there isn't system currently), or activate this option other than in the phone (in fastboot with adb for example...), regardless of the method, I hope there is at least one.
Awaiting a positive response (I hope), greetings and I wish you all a merry Christmas.
This option doesn't really matter, if your bootloader is unlocked (as in there is a undone lock icon every boot above the Mi logo) just go into fastboot by shutting the phone off forcefully, then holding down Power + Volume Down until you see the Fastboot Screen as shown below
{

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Then after that, check device manager in Windows to see if your device is being seen as "Android Bootloader Interface", if it is. Then you're good to go! Download the latest Xiaomi.eu ROM for Renoir then unzip it, then run the batch script for your case. You will lose all of the data on your phone's internal storage when installing though. So beware and be sure to make backups!
