Hi,
Have tried many ROM, but battery life of eui is best, is any way we can update security patch level?
What if security patch level is older?
thanks in advance.
You can try an eui based rom, some of which even improve battery life compared to stock eui. They have more recent security patches included. You have many to choose from, here on the forums

Just go to the guides and discussion page. There is a thread there with links to all the official ROMs. Indian 19S is linked there (from my Drive, because official site went down).

Heyyo, sadly I don't think that's possible... Albeit, you could technically download sources for LineageOS 13.0 and compile that and run it. That would offer near EUI levels of battery life combined with Greenify or modify the background app killing to match EUI it would be even more similar

Why?
Do you have any source for this? How do you know?
NOT TRUE - http://www.droid-life.com/2017/01/06/leeco-expect-software-updates-soon-address-user-pain-points/
yes, but he does not speak of nougat
I was just reading that you won't be able to receive any updates with international stock rom installed.
Is that really true? I can't find any option in settings to search or install any updates.
I am kind of happy with the international stock rom. No Chinese apps installed, no bloatware (so far found) and google play store is working.
Thanks!

What do you mean under international stock rom? Could you be more specific?
There are so called "webshop" roms, which are - as you can see in the name - modified by the online stores. Those roms are based on Indian version of eui , installed lots of bloatwares, multilanguages are contained. These are not official roms, not gonna be updated.
You should consider installing offical chinese/indian rom, which is gonna be updated for sure.

A user can always update the shop rom with the latest official rom via recovery. The easiest way to do it.

I am not really sure if I am running a Shop ROM. Just bought the phone from Gearbest.
I just thought that the Indian Version is the international version with multilanguage. I have LeEco Store installed and 3-4 other apps. But it really seams to be a Shop ROM because of the missing update option.

Can you explain what to do?
Just download the latest Indian version than rename it to update.zip and put it in the root folder and after that Power + Vol + and thats it?
I just dont want to lose German language on the phone. It is for my mother so usability is the most important, you know.
Thank you guys in advance!

Guess you are right. But you won't get OTA updates, if you use webshop rom. I didn't get neither.

Very simple. Yes.
I have Deutsch in my latest official Chinese 20s.
So does it mean that I can flash/update eather Indian or Chinese ROM just over the shop ROM without losing any data and language?
Sounds too easy for me
Yes, its easy like that i upgraded from shop rom to 21S Chinese - and I was wondering that german is better supported in 21S Chinese then in the germanized shoprom version ... only bad thing was - i lost the google play store.

And to get back Google Play Store you have to download it in LeEco store or just install the Indian version instead of the Chinese, right?
... or use this one -> https://xiaomininja.com/2016/07/15/...l-google-play-services-on-miui-8-video-guide/
I installed the cookie version 92 2 works fine. After wipe wipe data, flash with twrp and is done. Try. The zip file is called
X820_TWRP_ADVANCED_V3.1.1_CUOCO92. ZIP
yes but i heard leeco engineering work on android 7
Heyyo, yeah that international EUI ROM is modified and won't get OTA hence the check for updates is missing.
For my x829 I couldn't upgrade to Indian or Chinese EUI directly via the recovery and update.zip. It would give an error message about file errors. Only way for me to flash other ROMs was to use TWRP via temp boot via fastboot and then flash other ROMs.
I ended up not liking even newer EUI versions so now I use custom ROMs as they have a better setup with the more like Stock Android experience with the quick settings in the notification drawer.
It's still hard to tell if LeEco will be able to follow through with Nougat for their phones due to all the financial issues they have... But meh, tbh I'm not worried given how darn good community ROMs are and how they don't have the odd quirks that EUI have.
Albeit, it would be nice if they at least put out kernel sources for Nougat (or I guess Android O which will be out sooner than later) which could improve community ROMs a bit

It was said by January. Still they didn't released an update :crying:
Last update i got was on 14th October 2016. When ever i send a mail asking about the next update they respond like we will inform in a week or two. But they never did. By the end of march they said that they are working on android 7 but it will take more time. They said expected release will be july last week. I mailed again now. No responses from them.
I like the EUI very much. I don't want to install some custom rom. But same time, this thing have lot of bugs and many futures need modification.

Eh. It's still in dev.
There are recovery flashable zips [update using updater app] available, if you flash them, you'll loose data.
I didn't updated mine too, I'm still with 6.0.1, it's the stable one for me.
I don't wanna update to Nougat based Miui as I got my device unlocked earlier today, I'll be flashing Custom Roms. Will ditch Miui. :silly:
I suggest you to just stick with 6.0.1 based Miui rom, it's the stable one, as far as I know, Nougat based Miui Roms are in dev, so once you flash em you'll loose data + it'll be difficult to revert to stable versions.
So stick with 6.0.1, otherwise get your phone unlocked, flash custom ROMs.
Or wait for stable Miui [Nougat based] release.

Thanks for your suggestions i will stick on it. I wanted it because on additional setting / Region there is not listed my Country nor United States. I thought update will solves that.

Oh, not sure about that
Hi there,
just wondering whether we finally got Android 7 for our device? According to these threads it should be the case:
https://xiaomininja.com/2017/02/11/...i-8-china-developer-rom-7-2-9-is-rolling-out/
https://www.getdroidtips.com/manually-update-redmi-note-2-miui-8-v7-2-9-android-nougat-2/
But I am currently using MIUI 8 Global 7.5.4 Beta which is still Android 5.0.2 - maybe this is due to not being developer ROM.
What I do not understand is the flashing guide from 2nd link: Do I have to install both versions? Recovery and Fastboot? And does anybody already have this ROM in use? Can it be just flashed over Global Weekly Beta?
Thanks for your responses!
Bye
have a try? Is it really Android version nougat?
@Renth You have to post this in original developer thread when it is just a noob question? It is completely fake news - don't post this crap here.
@jajk: Ok, then some mod will have to move this thread (or can I move it myself?). My knowledge also has been that there is no Android 6 resp.7 for RMN2. But why do you think it is fake?
Even MIUI Germany talks about it here.

I get 115000 only in antutu.(i have original rom) Others get 14000,ia this cause it's performed in custom rom?
It's all synthetic scores.
I less then 110k but for overheating

Heyyo, can you please elaborate a little more?
Model? X820 x821 x822 or x829?
EUI ROM version? 5.8.016s? 19s? Other?
My x829 came with that vendor modified le_x2_na 5.8.016s and it was garbage with freezing issues and weak performance.
Every other ROM worked better be it EUI ROM or custom ROM.

it's the x820 model, 5.8.01S stock rom. i have never installed a custom rom before and i'm interested in installing oreo 8.1 in hope i'd get the best out of the phone, but i don't know if i want to risk it since i'm new to this stuff and i don't want to break it. the quick charge also seems to not work and it kinda charge the same with quickcharge on/off , other than this the phone is fluid and works alright

5.8.01s? That's really darn old yeah... ok since yours is x820 it's easy to upgrade to the latest EUI ROM.
http://g3.letv.cn/259/29/16/scloud-...1S-5.9.028S.zip?b=123456&platid=5&splatid=500
It does have ads that LeEco put in it though... I'd recommend going into launcher settings and disabling the ads if they annoy you a lot.
Otherwise? 5.9.026s is pretty good too but doesn't have ads.
https://goo.gl/3ZjpLD
just rename to update.zip and place in the root of your storage.
Reboot to recovery (settings > system update > ... menu button > Reboot to recovery)
Update from file
Otherwise for custom ROMs? I'd highly recommend sticking to Nougat as Oreo is beta support on the Le Max 2.... for Nougat ROMs? XenonHD I'd say has the best performance. KuranKaname did a great job with optimizations.
SlimRoms is a mix of optimizations and battery life so that's another option.
Stability wise though? OmniROM 7.1 is fantastic for that and is the only official ROM for the Le Max 2 on nougat with SafetyNet certification.
My bench mark ON RR version 6.0 that is oreo 8.1
177274, on Antutu version 7
crDroid v4. 1 AnTuTu 7.07
whether room .. 026 you can change the language

can you change the language to Polish in 5.9.026s?
Hey all,
I've just ordered a Le Max 2 from some mob in China. When it arrives in 2021 I hope to install a clean Oreo rom.
The problem is I'm new to all this jazz. I can follow a walkthrough successfully, and without killing the cat etc, but I don't know which walkthrough/guide to follow!
Is there a stock Oreo rom for the Le Max 2? Is 'stock' the right word here? I mean from Android/Google.
If not, is the Lineage rom ok?
I just want a clean phone, no crap installed, higher version of Android the better.
Also, I noticed a firmware page. Do I have to update my firmware first? Or after Rom installs?
thanks all

Hey. Welcome to the group.
There's no stock ROM for Oreo. We only have EUI 5.8/5.9 (Marshmallow). Lineage is okay, but as of now Oreo custom ROMs have bugs. One is low mic volume in calls, another is that you can't use Slow Motion Mode in modded GCam. In a new Oreo Custom ROM (Dirty Unicorn) it has GPS and Fingerprint bug, not sure about low mic volume but the Slow Motion Mode bug is still there (because of OSS HALs)
I suggest you flash Nougat if you want minimal bugs.
I think Marshmallow custom ROMs have no bugs at all (someone confirm) but the security patch is old.
You don't have to be on latest stock ROM, just flash the latest TWRP and start flashing ROMs.
Good luck!

Use google my friend flashing roms and learning about adb and fastboot is quite fun (well for me it is ). It's quite straight forward, you just need to have the proper software and drivers.
Lineage rom is good, it's updated quite frequently and most of the time has minimal bugs. go with nougat as my colleague suggested. Also i think it's ok to stay with just stock firmware Eui is quite nice i guys.
Just remember to backup everything and save it in a safe place before trying something for the first time If you are afraid of doing something and want a quick answer you can PM me, i will try to answer asap

What I can say from my personal experience. First, stock EUi is a crap. Also, abandoned, since LeEco company does not exist anymore. Second, 7.1 or 8.1? I would recommend Lineage 15.1 (Oreo 8.1). It's most stable for me. I found any other rom based on Lineage more buggy than stock Lineage 14.1 is stable too, but why to choose older Android?
Install procedure is pretty easy. You need to unlock bootloader, flash twrp, then flash rom + gapps, that's all.
BTW as you can see, there may be many opinions. But it's not risky to test various custom roms and choose the one that is the best for you. Don't hestitate to try many roms, it's not a pain at all. Actually, it's a fun.
