Heyyo, can you please elaborate a little more?
Model? X820 x821 x822 or x829?
EUI ROM version? 5.8.016s? 19s? Other?
My x829 came with that vendor modified le_x2_na 5.8.016s and it was garbage with freezing issues and weak performance.
Every other ROM worked better be it EUI ROM or custom ROM.

it's the x820 model, 5.8.01S stock rom. i have never installed a custom rom before and i'm interested in installing oreo 8.1 in hope i'd get the best out of the phone, but i don't know if i want to risk it since i'm new to this stuff and i don't want to break it. the quick charge also seems to not work and it kinda charge the same with quickcharge on/off , other than this the phone is fluid and works alright

5.8.01s? That's really darn old yeah... ok since yours is x820 it's easy to upgrade to the latest EUI ROM.
http://g3.letv.cn/259/29/16/scloud-...1S-5.9.028S.zip?b=123456&platid=5&splatid=500
It does have ads that LeEco put in it though... I'd recommend going into launcher settings and disabling the ads if they annoy you a lot.
Otherwise? 5.9.026s is pretty good too but doesn't have ads.
https://goo.gl/3ZjpLD
just rename to update.zip and place in the root of your storage.
Reboot to recovery (settings > system update > ... menu button > Reboot to recovery)
Update from file
Otherwise for custom ROMs? I'd highly recommend sticking to Nougat as Oreo is beta support on the Le Max 2.... for Nougat ROMs? XenonHD I'd say has the best performance. KuranKaname did a great job with optimizations.
SlimRoms is a mix of optimizations and battery life so that's another option.
Stability wise though? OmniROM 7.1 is fantastic for that and is the only official ROM for the Le Max 2 on nougat with SafetyNet certification.

My bench mark ON RR version 6.0 that is oreo 8.1
177274, on Antutu version 7

crDroid v4. 1 AnTuTu 7.07

whether room .. 026 you can change the language

LeTV LeEco Le Max 2 X829 ROMs/TWRP

I am getting the LeTV LeEco Le Max 2 X829 US version soon. There are versions of TWRP/ROMs posted for the other LeTV LeEco Le Max 2 variants, so I am not 100% sure that they are compatible.
In particular for the x829 I would like:
-Link to working TWRP recovery
-Link to Proper SuperUser Zip
-AOKP based ROM (Lineage, CM...)
I found this TWRP link, but I do not know for 100% that is is compatible.

Read the forum. All roms works on any max 2.

Every ROM from X820, X821, X822... work in X829 and same with the recoveries.
To get root you can flash latest SuperSU flashable zip or you can flash Magisk (with this you can run some apps that doesn't work with root).
Lineage and CM are now the same (Lineage) and they aren't based on AOKP (Android Open Kang Project), they are similar to AOSP (Android Open Source Project) but with some additions.
I hope this will help you, regards

Do you have the X829? What ROM do you have running? What version of TWRP? At the very least, is that the correct TWRP?
https://dl.twrp.me/x2/
A lot of the comments I read on the ROM threads was "should work with the X829". That's why I'm asking.
My biggest concern is bricking it, or even IMEI getting wiped. On my Elephone P8000, the stock rom has an internal IMEI writer tool. The X829 doesn't look to be as straight forward to restore IMEI. As long as I can full backup ROM/nvram, and safely store it somewhere I should be ok. Just trying to cover all my basis
Any rom will work. I have x829 and used this guide and links for twrp. Tried most of custom roms and none as as stable imo as the Indian official rom. I use nova launcher on every phone anyhow so always looks same anyhow. I get around 5 hours sot and play games quite a lot.
Finger sensor is a bit poor but if I use the fingerprint calibration it seems to be much better.

I rooted 2 x829 4/64gb phones using 3.1.0 so your link is correct
For super su I used the latest version zip (2.79) download from their website http://www.supersu.com/download
For roms I ended up going back to stock us 16s because it's by far the most stable in my case atleast. Using xposed and some modules to get customizations.
I'll add that x829 folks shouldn't even bother trying other ROMS at the moment, if WiFi calling is important. I've tried a few of the most popular ones on my x820, and none of the other ROMs seem to work properly for this feature, even though it shows up as an option in some.
Root it, get rid of the LeBloat, put a different launcher on it and call it a day.

Randy, I want to follow your advise with my new x829. Not having any luck identifying how to root this phone staying on stock EUI with stock recovery. Do I need TWRP recovery for root only? I haven't touched the bootloader. Thanks much!

There's no point in staying with stock recovery. You'll never see an OTA update with the x829 ROM anyway.
Install TWRP and root with SU through that. If you ever change your mind down the road and want to install something else, at least you'll be ready for it.

Done. EUI isn't the end of the world, with a descent launcher it's not bad. I was able to flash xposed and got gravity box for better nav bar control (long press home to sleep + keep lit when screen is on) and xhangouts for dark/color themes.
Amazing phone for the $. Not just the internal specs, processor, RAM, fp sensor, gyro, etc, but a solid external build as well.

Constant Reboots

Hi guys,
I've purchased an x820 6gb RAM version not too recently. I immediately switched to a custom ROM as I don't like stock Chinese ROMs.
I started with RR and I got random reboots everyone few minutes after a day of usage or so.
So I flashed Aurel V16 and it worked well for a day or so as well, but then it started rebooting again.
After several reboots I got the "optimizing apps" screen, as if there's was some sort of wipe.
I tried going with all kinds of profiles: performance, stock, moderate but none solve the problem.
I'm gonna try with a CM based ROM later today, but love to get your comments.
Any suggestions?
EDIT: I noticed there aren't many people experiencing this issue (there's two threads on XDA)
I also have x820 with 6gb RAM recently but it come with Indian ROM. No reboot at all.
Thanks for your message.
Do you have a link for the ROM installed on your device?

It's official 19s ROM. You can download it from one of the thread here.
Heyyo, yeah there was some builds of RR that had that issue. For the most stable and reliable ROM that andr68rus maintains I'd recommend his OmniROM Weekly builds. They're not as feature filled as DU or RR but is definitely a lot more reliable and thus far battery consumption has been ok
Try to flash the Developer with QFIL or Miflash ( using the 9008 qualcomm mode ) and then install the Small EUI rom V16. This rome had no issues regarding the reboots.

security update for. stock eui

Hi,
Have tried many ROM, but battery life of eui is best, is any way we can update security patch level?
What if security patch level is older?
thanks in advance.
You can try an eui based rom, some of which even improve battery life compared to stock eui. They have more recent security patches included. You have many to choose from, here on the forums

Just go to the guides and discussion page. There is a thread there with links to all the official ROMs. Indian 19S is linked there (from my Drive, because official site went down).

Heyyo, sadly I don't think that's possible... Albeit, you could technically download sources for LineageOS 13.0 and compile that and run it. That would offer near EUI levels of battery life combined with Greenify or modify the background app killing to match EUI it would be even more similar

Complete noob, getting a Le Max 2

Hey all,
I've just ordered a Le Max 2 from some mob in China. When it arrives in 2021 I hope to install a clean Oreo rom.
The problem is I'm new to all this jazz. I can follow a walkthrough successfully, and without killing the cat etc, but I don't know which walkthrough/guide to follow!
Is there a stock Oreo rom for the Le Max 2? Is 'stock' the right word here? I mean from Android/Google.
If not, is the Lineage rom ok?
I just want a clean phone, no crap installed, higher version of Android the better.
Also, I noticed a firmware page. Do I have to update my firmware first? Or after Rom installs?
thanks all

Hey. Welcome to the group.
There's no stock ROM for Oreo. We only have EUI 5.8/5.9 (Marshmallow). Lineage is okay, but as of now Oreo custom ROMs have bugs. One is low mic volume in calls, another is that you can't use Slow Motion Mode in modded GCam. In a new Oreo Custom ROM (Dirty Unicorn) it has GPS and Fingerprint bug, not sure about low mic volume but the Slow Motion Mode bug is still there (because of OSS HALs)
I suggest you flash Nougat if you want minimal bugs.
I think Marshmallow custom ROMs have no bugs at all (someone confirm) but the security patch is old.
You don't have to be on latest stock ROM, just flash the latest TWRP and start flashing ROMs.
Good luck!

Use google my friend flashing roms and learning about adb and fastboot is quite fun (well for me it is ). It's quite straight forward, you just need to have the proper software and drivers.
Lineage rom is good, it's updated quite frequently and most of the time has minimal bugs. go with nougat as my colleague suggested. Also i think it's ok to stay with just stock firmware Eui is quite nice i guys.
Just remember to backup everything and save it in a safe place before trying something for the first time If you are afraid of doing something and want a quick answer you can PM me, i will try to answer asap

What I can say from my personal experience. First, stock EUi is a crap. Also, abandoned, since LeEco company does not exist anymore. Second, 7.1 or 8.1? I would recommend Lineage 15.1 (Oreo 8.1). It's most stable for me. I found any other rom based on Lineage more buggy than stock Lineage 14.1 is stable too, but why to choose older Android?
Install procedure is pretty easy. You need to unlock bootloader, flash twrp, then flash rom + gapps, that's all.
BTW as you can see, there may be many opinions. But it's not risky to test various custom roms and choose the one that is the best for you. Don't hestitate to try many roms, it's not a pain at all. Actually, it's a fun.

Best Android Pie Rom for battery life

Hello,
So I bought the Pocophone F1 and it's in his way to my house. Probably I will not keep the MIU software and use a rom like I did with my others smartphones. I was looking for a subject where they could detail about the roms and their battery life, because some roms are new to me, but didn't found anything.
Do you know a good rom with battery life improvement? Not sure about lineage, beacause there's too much features that I will not use.
Miui 10 8.11.2 based on android pie.. best battery life.. unlocked your bootloader .then flash Sphinx Kernel by Milouk.. .even the asus rog phone beat the performance..

Have you been trying others rom with the pocophone?
The Sphinx Kernel looks pretty good.
I am flashaholic and i love lineage OS but so far i have not installed any rom for now..im satisfied with the stock rom ( Miui ) maybe in the near future . .. for now i am enjoying Miui. ..Sphinx kernel makes the pocophone beast.. milouk has a good reputation his known for being smart , intelligent and a humble developer back in the days with Nexus device. And lots of users are happy to see him working with our devices so Cheers!!!!
LiquidRemix (9.0) rom have very good battery life. Before I was on Miui 9 latest. LiquidRemix rom has better battery life and performance for me. I saw Havoc rom recent one but I have not try it yet.
I had flashed the los, I felt it had not customisations at all..lol..
I tried nitrogen os..
But now I m using latest global beta..
Currently the miui provides the best battery backup and best performance.. just flash the sphinx kernel..
Battery backup is very good on all roms but best on miui

Well you convinced me! Maybe for roms is too soon, because most of them have something that is not working yet. I always thought that the MIUI was not taking the full advantage of the battery and management was not that good.
When you bought the phone, did he came with the clean stock miui? Or you had to flash it?
Your thought was wrong..Battey management and performance are fluid ...You can install MiuP https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sid.miuilatestupdates&hl=en there's a hidden settings , Go to Power mode and select Performance. .you cant' find these settings to your stock settings , it will activate battery performance. I am using my device for two days moderate usage of gaming , Pubg and Vainglory...i suggest turn off the notification setting with this app because it's very annoying popping up news every 30 mins..Good Luck!!!
Thank You very much bamz1117 for your advice. Once I'll get the phone I will flash the kernel and install the to access to hidden settings.
Your Welcome...Hit thanks if you like @DarkyX_90
All roms have excellent battery backup and ram usage but if you want just a close to stock android rom with minimal features, your best bet would be the Lineage OS. Install a GApps Pico build and you're good to go.
Most of the time I'm on lineage but currently I'm trying out the havoc os and loving its rich customization features
I would, but there's no thanks button
NOS is great for me. Full on stability and it's smooth. I was using MIUI PIE 8.11.8 and thought it's awesome until I flashed NOS rom. Everything is awesome now. Modded gcam does the job well too.
My suggestion would be to try MIUI PIE first and when you're bored with it, try NOS. You won't go back to MIUI ever.
that's fine it's a Q and A poll so you cant find a thanks button.... see this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/poco-f1/how-to/miui-10-stable-global-version-rolled-t3858866
Hey I got today the phone I was already to make everything, and the first thing I wanted to do was to update the miui. I have some questions because I am new with MIUI. On updates I have "10.0.4.0". I presume the " 8.11.2" is from the "developer rom", right?
1 - If yes, can it be dowloaded through the miui update on my smartphone? Or it's like a normal rom with TWRP?
2 - I went to http://en.miui.com/ and I just can found the " 8.10.25" version. Where did you get the 8.11.2?
3 - Any way to know which features may not work with the developer rom?
4 - The "8.11.2" has most languages available, or just because it's an advance version, it's just in english?
@DarkyX_90 Good to know you already have your phone ..this a Q and Q poll ..can you go to this thread so that i can help you out regarding your questions..https://forum.xda-developers.com/poco-f1/how-to/miui-10-stable-global-version-rolled-t3858866
Oh yes you right, I am sorry. Let's keep this topic as it is.
If anyone have thoughts about the battery and roms share with us.
