Can anybody list games that will work with RealVGA with 128dpi,
I try couple of them VGA already, but nothing seem to work. Only one I found that working is SkyForce reloaded on portrait mode
I am look for anything with landscape mode, try like PDAmill product, either the screen aligment is off, or can't play at all.
Have anybody experience this yet?
Nobody play game on the Advantage at all.
So far, most of the game on Astraware work perfectly.
Like, Casino, Solitare, Sudoky, Tradewinds 2
PDAmill seem not working with 128DPI for some reason.

I haven't tried in vga mode yet but bejeweled 2 works otherwise in landscape the only other game i tried was quake 3 arena which after unloadibg all of my today plugins ran bt i detrmined the gpu can't handle the game sadly enough m old blue angel played it with only a marginal increase in fps which shocked me as it's a lesser cpu bt apperantly has a faster gpu =(
Nobody plays games on the Athena? I guess I'm nobody - I use PocketStella to run all of the Atari 2600 games, plus I run other games...

Hi Guys
I have a Rooted Xperia Play 3.0.1.a.145.
I have ripped a few PSX images (.bin/.cue) of games like FF8 , re2 and dino crisis 2.
In the wiki these games are supported by fpse and was hoping to get them working.
i have the scph1001.bin bios file on the sd card and have loaded it within fpse systems section.
i have also enabled spu sound and disabled HLE.
When i try loading any of these 3 games i just get a black screen and the game does not load and i end up pressing the menu button and quit out of fpse after a few minutes of wait.
Can someone tell me if i am ripping the games wrong? i am using imgburn and games are 2345bytes/sector.
Am i suppost to be using any other program after imgburn to shrink the screen size?
Any help will be appreciated. Im a N00b to Android phones.
Regards
Manny
ive been looking for answers on this all morning, thought it was the versions i downloaded at first, so i just bought the most current for 5 bucks. still, terrible sound with FF7, no sound with FF8, and i cant configure my X button on the controller. im getting very frustrated with this myself.
I'm having this same issue
I can't map the X button either and it's driving me crazy.
As you guys can read in the title i have a really big problem with my new xiaomi bt controller. first of all, i am using it for my Tegra Note 7.
scenario:
the pairing was extremely easy. just connected it via bluetooth, thats it. no additional app etc needed.
the first thing i noticed that the right stick won't do anything as i wanted to control the virtual mouse with it (mouse appears but doesnt move in any direction)
i thought, ok, maybe this is just a little bug. wouldn't bother me if gaming atleast would work fine.
so i tried out a few games with it like GTA SA, Implosion, Dead effect 2, Shadowgun Deazone etc. i also tried out emulators.
GTA SA:everything works fine. i was able to have full control over the game. even the right analog stick worked fine here to move the camera angle.
the big problem came with the 3 last games i named above.
implosion: this game autodetects if you have a gamepad connected and changes the in-game layout a little bit to fit the whole theme (virtual sticks etc will dissappear)
everything inside the game works fine EXCEPT for the RIGHT ANALOG STICK which is used to shoot in 360 degrees (just like in twin stick shooters). the game just doesn't do anything when i try something with the right stick. Normally this should work since when i use my xbox 360 controller, the right analog stick fires the equipped weapon in the direction you push the stick. on the xiaomi gamepad it just won't do anything as if i didn't touching the right analog stick at all.
dead effect 2: the problem in this game is similiar. in dead effect 2 you can go into options and remap your controller buttons etc. the big problem now is if i want to map the right analog stick to the "aim/look around" function, the game just doesn't recocnizes it as if i am not doing anything. (just like in implosion). so if i am ingame i can do everything but look around with the right analog stick. i can shoot, reload, move etc but not slightly change the way where i look. so everything from my controller is mappable except for...you guessed it...the right analog stick.
it just looks like those games pretend to not recocnize when i try to look around/aim etc.
shadowgun dead zone: same problem as dead effect 2. game has remapping options but wont recocnize the right analog stick when i try to map it to the "aim/look around" function.
emulators just work fine. (no misbehaviour until now)
btw the android system uses the Generic.kl layout file for the controller (so there is no special predefined vendorxxxx_productxxxx.kl inside the layout folder)
when i try all this with an xbox 360 controller (via usb otg) everything works just fine (even the virtual mouse).
so i am begging you guys for help because this is really frustrating if only very few android games work good while many don't.
i know that this would mean that the games that don't work probably are lacking some compatibility with this controller.
i just hope that there is a way with editing/creating a new layout file (.kl file) and remap the functions or something like that.
would be really nice if someone could help me with all this.
bump...
really no one?! i really need your help with this, guys
for the admins: if this is the wrong section, i would be glad if you could put it into the right one
You will not find many people here that use anything from this manufacturer. They are not really respected here so very few will buy any of their products.

They constantly violate the gpl. They have been known to take the code of other developers and remove the the authorship of the code so it looks like they made the code. I wont even get into MIUI, which is known as the joke of the android world. They tend to use sub par parts yet lie to people about it and get away with it due to the deal with china and lack of any real copyright enforcement.

so you mean that everyone is gonna refuse to help me just because they hate/dislike xiaomi for their violation of gpl?! that has nothing to do with my problem and seems pretty off-topic to me.
does that mean that if i had any other controller brand (Moga, Steelseries etc), that i would receive more help for my problem from the community than im receiving now?!
idk but that just sounds ridicoulous (no offense). i mean it is just a bluetooth controller we are talking about here and not miui or other things from xiaomi.
seriously, anyone with enough knowledge about the layout files for bluetooth or otg accessoires like controllers, keyboards etc could actually help me with this problem.
the controller just uses 2 different axis inputs for the right analog stick than some other controllers which only get recocnized by very few games so far.
i just need someone who knows how i can make most of the controller compatible games recocnize the right analog stick.
at the moment i think that the controller uses Axis_Z and Axis_RZ for the X and Y angles instead of those which most of the other controllers use.

No what I'm saying is that because of the oem most will not have any idea how to fix it or be able to even try to help fix.
As for the other makers, with them you had a better chance of someone e here having one and maybe coming across this issue.
Not to mention this is a development forum for mobile devices so a controller is a bit out of the realm of what is worked on here.
I would start by running a logcat while playing one of the games that don't work. That will at least give you an idea of what to look for.

Anyone found a solution for this?
Almost a year passed. Well, I have just bought that gamepad and I'm facing the same problem on my redmi note 4.
I found the solution on youtube.
If somebody else need it, here it is:
Sorry, I can not place any external urls yet, the original video is on the youtube.
It says that you have to edit /system/usr/keylayout/Generic.kl file via some root explorer. So I would better backuped it first somewhere.
You need find and replace next lines:
"axis 0x03 RX" with "axis 0x14 RX"
"axis 0x04 RY" with "axis 0x15 RY"
Save the file and reboot. I've cheked it and it works. But in this way you are remapping general keymap, that can be applied to other gamepads.
Here is another solution, but in this case some other keys stop working: https://github.com/moonlight-stream/moonlight-android/issues/92#issuecomment-215680259

Thanks !!! My mi Bluetooth game pad works great now with modern combat.
So when i play Adventure Time Card Wars Kingdom the textures of the game are all messed up for some reason, like scaled, other images of other things appear in text bubbles, etc.
I've searched all over the web and can't find a solution for this graphic glitch. The game works perfectly on my phone, but I want to play it on my laptop. and the problem still persists when I use other Android Emulators as well.
If anyone has any experience with this sort of problem please reply.
Besides PPSSPP and Dolphin (Gamecube & Wii) are there other emulators that people have tested on the switch?
Personally, I'd like to see PS2 emulation, but I know it's a bit of a stretch. :silly:
Also, what are some favorites that play well on the switch?
I ask for discussion since there isn't a thread around.
Drastic and the Beta of Redream should work well.
I guess DamonPS2 should be able to play some lighter games reasonably but don't expect too much.
These are the emulators I have downloaded that I can personally confirm work:
-SNES9X, runs all of the SNES games I have flawlessly.
-Mupen64Pluz FZ, runs all of the N64 games I have flawlessly.
-My OldBoy!, runs all GB and GBC games I have flawlessly.
-My Boy!, runs all GBA games I have flawlessly.
-Dolphin MMJ, does not run all Gamecube games I have flawlessly. (further information below)
-nds4droid, does not run all DS games I have flawlessly. (further information below)
-PPSSPP, runs all PSP games I have flawlessly.
-Redream, runs all Dreamcast games I have flawlessly.
I wasn't able to get the regular Dolphin emulator to run Gamcube games, let alone even install Wii games. The Dolphin MMJ version has some lag, but I don't know the proper optimization through settings that is required to get it to run flawlessly. Other users have posted that theirs work flawlessly, but I haven't seen an extensive list of the settings they use.
Nds4droid lags with the Pokemon games. I've tried to download over 15 different DraStic DS emulator APK files and none have worked for me. They kept displaying an error message of not having something. I can't recall exactly off the top of my head at the moment.
Could someone create a foolproof guide in text or video format as to how to get Dolphin and DraStic to run properly?

Well I'd imagine all retro stuff to work flawlessly. Probably everything in the retroarch set really. Really hoping GZDoom and Morrowind work flawless on android as well, while not an emulator nor engine on thing I'm kinda looking forward to is Zenonia and Chaos Rings, should it actually run
As for setting up Dolphin; there's this at least

If someone gets Morrowind running, I'd definitely be interested in playing that as I've never played it before.
Unfortunately, that tutorial doesn't help me because I didn't need the Octopus application since the Joy Con fix works with Dolphin MMJ. I'm referring to the graphical and enhancement settings in Dolphin.

DraStic runs perfectly bought from the playstore.
DraStic works fine for me, too. It does show some kind of an pop-up error at the beginning, but the emulator itself works fine afterwards.
When it comes to other emulators besides DraStic:
PPSSPP: Played only Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, emulator is working great, although SW: TFU does have *some* slowdowns (but this is the same across all platforms, so very probably not a performance issue), but overall completely playable.
When it comes to games:
Star Wars: KOTOR: I am using version 1.0.9 (from Amazon Appstore) and it works perfectly (including gamepad right out of the box).
GTA: San Andreas: Working fine, but the sticks are not working for movements. Buttons work fine.
Half-Life 2: Native Tegra version, works perfectly fine.
Will continue to edit this post.

Remember, F-Droid is a thing, my friend. Just like a brother above, we're not limited to Google stuff, I for one, have no intention to use Google stuff. I'll be using FDroid, Aurora Store and Amazon c:
https://f-droid.org/packages/com.libopenmw.openmw/ I do believe this uses SDL for joysticks.
My list of emulators are as follows; for everything else I use retroarch.
PSX:
Epsxe - nice psx emulator, works exactly how you would imagine a box standard emulator to work and does the job quite well. Can’t say any downsides to this emulator
Fpse: my favourite out of the two, upscales into HD and even forces a widescreen that doesn’t end in a stretched out mess. Honestly this emulator will make tekken 3 look like tekken 6 (a slight over exaggeration but it’s worth it). The downside is there is no free version and it’s gonna cost you a couple of quid/dollars.
Dreamcast:
Reicast- it works as well as it’s lakka version only this time you can dock the switch for TV. Has a widescreen hack and looks quite nice in places although some textures don’t work right (shenmue need more than a plaster to cover that hole in his face). Downsides are some games don’t work.
Redream - works great, all games I’ve tried run fine including stupid invaders (if that’s what you’re into) that being said, that game doesn’t get past the Sega logo in reicast so this emulator offers more support! I can’t remember if you have to pay for it though and just like reicast it doesn’t support “win ce” games like resident evil 2.
PS2:
Damonps2 - runs a little worse than dolphin, I haven’t found a single game I could consider as playable in that emulator but it shows promise and apparently is due an upgrade that will offer a lot of speed up. This emulator has seen some controversy because the dev ripped off code from the pc version of psx2 and I believe there’s some lawsuit involved. Has the most drawbacks. The free version won’t let you save and the paid version asks for your **** size amongst all over personal data as well as it won’t work if you’re offline or use the xposed frame network. It also shuts itself if you have Magisk installed. To get it to work again you have to hide the application with Magisk hide.
DS:
Drastic - you might have to pay but damn is it worth it. Looks amazing and can swap your screens instantly by pressing the thumb sticks in, not so great for games that utilise both screens at once like Sonic Rush but plays great!!
Like I say everything else I use retroarch for.

For PSX I'd honestly recomend RetroArch (Both android and HorizonOS). It already has Upscaling and it's free. As for Tekken 3 to Tekken 6, I'd yet to find out, haha.
I'm Glad that the Dreamcast works great!! Do you have any recommendations?
PS2- I kinda expected that. Have you tried the Play! Emulator?
DS- Can you do anti aliasing or Upscaling?
I'm currently in the process of getting it on the switch (Had a week long exam) but I'll gladly report any findings I get as well.

Well it’s the widescreen hack that sells Fpse for me, epsxe has one but the graphics flicker a bit. Although I think epsxe runs games better, I do get graphical issues when using the gl plugin. (Tekken 6 for PSP... at a push haha).
I’d recommend using redream for Dreamcast as it offers more support. I’m a big fan of the sonic games and hey run perfectly. I have a lot of fighters on there to and it’s much easier to set up 2 player with redream.
I haven’t managed to get play! working yet, retroarch crashes when I boot it and any app I’ve installed from google searches don’t work or are fake (or maybe I’m doing something wrong).
Yes, the DS can do anti aliasing, I can’t describe how nice they look upscaled. Especially the more 3D heavy games, run really smooth too! Loads of options, i’d Recommend having a look at a few reviews, but it runs amazing in the switch.
I’ve recently downloaded arc browser after a few days of trying to fathom the very poor tutorials of setting up Hyperspin. It’s a nice GUI to load all your games for different emulators in one app. It’s nice to look through all my roms with added cover art and fan art, it does cost like £8 though.
I will add that all emulators I’ve tried to run made by “Robert Broglia” like MD.EMU and Neo Geo emulators do not work in docked mode, it’s almost as though the apps themselves just don’t understand what it is. I managed to get a Sega CD game running through MD.emu docked when I loaded the game through arc browser and it loads and plays and then crashes when you exit making it so you have to undock and redock the switch.
Dolphin works fine for me but the remapping of control for Wii doesn't want to stick after i launch a game. When it does it seems to forget half of the remapping. Anybody else?

Are you certain about the version of KOTOR? I purchased first from Google Play and received version 1.0.6 which hangs, then bought it from Amazon Appstore and received version 1.0.7 which appears to be the latest currently available and it isn't loading fully either.
