Update your recovery first

Have you supersu installed? If so then you need to flash back your boot.img to stock and then flash magisk again

I really don't know how to unlock the bootloader, and even if I managed to do it, I don't know how to install TWRP
Cause I don't want to install it with the usual'install.bat' method cause the SafetyNet will fail after
I don't know if the SafetyNet will fail also if I installed the recovery via ADB

Backuping your DRM keys prior unlocking your bootloader will secure your return in the future, and installing TWRP is much easier when on unlocked phones.

- How to backup DRM keys?
- How to unlock the bootloader?
- How to install twrp on an unlocked bootloader?
- Will the safetyNet test success after installing TWRP?
- How to install magisk? Cause it failed the last time I tried to install it on a locked bootloader ( I had installed twrp by downgrading the kernel and installing TWRP via the 'install.bat' script, and my safetyNet test failed after that, and also magisk installation).
This might be easy for you guys to do, however it's like trying to read Chinese for me, I'd be thankful if you could help me out, more than that I wish someone could post a guide for what I'm asking (installing TWRP and magisk without voiding the safetyNet for Xperia Z2) cause I did a lot of research and I couldn't find a lot concerning Xperia Z2.

1. Backup using Dirty Cow exploit tool, which you can find in the Sony Cross-Device forums;
2. Please refer to the "UB" link in my signature;
3. Flash it through fastboot, for more info please Google;
4. Magisk can hide itself as well as the unlocked bootloader status from Safety Net, so it will pass theoretically;
5. Magisk has to patched in order to install with stock Sony firmware (no need after v13), and an unlocked bootloader as it modifies your kernel and therefore cannot be done in LB.
As always, please search on Google and read enough before posting, I learned these all by reading and searching on the web myself back when I was a noob.

Yup, but you asked the same question yesterday i believe, and also think two days ago. You need an unlocked bootloader to flash kernels, and there are no ways around that.

yes you must unlock the BL first.

Do you have full root with locked BL?
Locked BL for what i read you need stock kernel too....
I tried but i only have parcial root..
Can't mount system as rw...
Yep, was going to say that reflash of stock kernel ftf removes system write (eg partial root) ~ but as @blueether has "suggested" (either here or another thread) the @[NUT] recovery "may" remount and fix this without need of a modified kernel (I'm not completely sure).

this is what I did:
- flash ftf, (EDIT: in my case I boot the phone to check if ftf flashed successfully, phone boot and and wizard setup running, turning the phone OFF, then unclocked the BL with flashtool
- 'fastboot boot 757.img' (not 'fastboot flash boot', jackies one, with vanilla cwm)
- enter CWM, have to immediately did
- flash supersu.zip
- flash this fix (system r/w mount fix
- flash nut dualrecovery (latest beta 119 will be better)
- restore TA with TWRP from kitkat .681 nandroid (restore only Trim Area)
- done.. reboot, still got full root
^^ good work, and nice link @Lc1975 confirming nut recovery does disable rickill

Done every steps like you told here...
but when i reboot only have red light blinking and vibrate... nothing more...
Maybe because i locked the BL with Backup TA...
had to flash again the ftf...

Sorry to hear that but I don't know whether it is relevant or not.. After flashing full clean ftf (step 1) I boot the phone to check flashtool did the job. It boot and bring to the setup wizard. I turn the phone off and then did second step (unlock with flashtool and then 'fastboot boot 757.img') and so on..

Yeah, that'll happen if you re-lock your bootloader on a custom kernel. It has happened to me a couple of times, and you can solve it by simply unlocking the bootloader again.
^^ to be safe, you can reflash stripped ftf from @[NUT] rom thread to return kernel to stock (instead of relying on a TA backup of what will usually be an old kernel if you're upgrading)

Anyone tried this on LG G6?
This can relock G6 bootloader like for warranty purpose?
Which functions are available/unavailable for G6
The only functions that are not available are flash stock recovery and flash factory image. The others are all available. Locking the bootloader you can brick your phone, the tool will send just a fastboot command. I've tested the bootloader unlocking procedure for lg g6 and twrp flash. There are a lot of others function that i've not tested but they should work (Apk Installer, reboot commands, zip flasher, ....)

You always need the LG Developer site. This tool is done to simplify processes not to bypass them. With this tool you will never use the terminal anymore.

Will give this a try once someone has tried it some more.
Just tried to unlock my g6. It works. Then I tried to flash recovery, but, maybe I'd have had to reboot phone prior to flash recovery, infact after reboot the recovery installed was the stock one. So I flashed it via fastboot command manually...
Anyway, simple and working. Gread job!

Thanks for feedback, can you please tell me what recovery you have installed through fastboot?? Maybe the recovery in the tool ai wrong or have problems.
Have tried the H870 one, TWRP 3.1.1, the one that the software automatically download from server. The final message saied it was installed correctly, but after reboot, normal recovery was presented (the one that reset phone to factory reset, and infact it has resetted the phone)

Format data from twrp
@mauronofrio Ok, I solved and reinstalled from scratch everything. What went wrong, I think, is that after TWRP installation I haven't installed Magisk immediately.
Using a tool like your can induce people to just push a button and not follow every step of a good unlocking procedure. Anyway, it was my fault. Your tool works perfectly

[Guide] Root Honor V10 on stock fireware without erasing data

Since TWRP is still not ported to V10, so i decided to make a prerooted-boot.img.
Download Link
You can flash this boot.img to root your Honor V10 AL20C00 (6GB+128GB China Edition) on stock firmware (B132)
Usage:
0. Unlock bootloader and close find my phone.
1. Power off your phone
2. Plug your phone to computer
3. Hold power and volume down until boot into fastboot mode
4. flash this boot.img by adb ( fastboot flash ramdisk boot-root-b122.img), please download adb by yourself
5. reboot (fastboot reboot)
Your phone may reboot twice, and you'll get root access.
Declaim:
I only test this on my own phone (BKL-AL20C00), Use this on your own risk. I'm not responsible for your phone's damage.
using this tool means you accept this.
Thanks:

Same question. I got BKL-L09 8.0.0.120
No bootloader unlock needed? And i also hope, someone can confirm this on BKL-09 - 120 .

Can you be a little more specific? Did you unlock your Bootloader first? When you say stock firmware B132, do you mean version 8.0.0.132 ? Thank you in advance for your reply!

Hi harshshah17,
Did you unlock your bootloader first? I think there are methods to flash zip files without having a custom REC. Try Flashfire apk. I've read the phone can get even more "restricted" (many features get blocked) once you root your Honor V10. Is it true in your case? Thanks in advance for your reply.

Ofcourse i have unlocked my bootloader..Its only after that, that you can root. With regard to your question, I have not experienced any sort of "restriction" with my Honor View 10 post rooting. Seems to be working just as normal. The only thing is that i am unable to install the OTA update.
The reason I am asking for a custom recovery is because i need to remove Super SU and install Magisk instead. In order to remove super SU i need to flash an uninstall zip (I know you a can remove it from the Super SU options, but that doesn't seem to be working). I can certainly use flashfire to flash the uninstall zip but then my phone will be unrooted and I wont be able to flash magisk via flashfire.
If anyone has a solution for the above, suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks!

U can remove root by flashing the stock ramdisk.img, which can be extracted from the official full-ota update.app
Only thing I've seen that doesn't work with root is face unlock. Also how can I flash magisk since there isn't a recovery yet. Can I use flashify?

Download Firmware Finder for Huawei in Play store. They got partial and full OTAs there.
By the way, flashing custom ROMs for V10 is now also thru Fastboot. So I guess TWRP isn't applicable for V10? Maybe Magisk can also be flashed using Fastboot. I will try to research for custom ROM with Magisk. So far, I only see SuperSU pre-installed. ?

I did download that and the extractor tool but it says I need the update.app file to extract the boot image an I've yet to find that in either of the three files I tried.
So I know how to use fastboot but will I need the boot image first or can I just flash magisk. The current root method installs su. That's where I'm kind of stuck as far because I've always read that you have to uninstall su first but then wouldn't I lose the ability to flash magisk? I'm currently just rooted on the stock rom.
Didn't even know there was a custom rom hadn't seen it on here yet.

I have the bkl-l09. I'd appreciate it if you could. I'll try this version since it can't hurt though.

It should be "fastboot flash ramdisk <boot image name>".
Second, if it doesn't help, the next step is to enter e-recovery mode. Press Volume Up + Power for 15 seconds. Follow the prompts and it should download the full OTA for you. I think you need your Huawei ID in the process (and a good Wifi signal).
Lastly, I think this is a sure bet but will cost you, google "funkyhuawei honor v10 rebranding guide". You will find a reddit link. They are the only team who "holds" BKL-L09 Full OTA roms that I know of. You need to buy "credits" to download OTAs and unbrick your phone. Unfortunately, team MT (team behind Firmware Finder) hasn't got a hold of a full OTA of BKL-L09.
From my experience, the first suggested solution should already work. I hope you don't get to the third solution.

Face unlock not working after rooting latest version

Hi,
I just updated my HW Mate 10 pro to the latest version which includes face recognition. It worked as expected until I rooted the phone with FHMate10Tool. I tried using another method called Magisk but I got an error when trying to apply it through TWRP so I couldnt proceed with this method.
Anyways, after rooting, I get an error saying that my facial features werent recognized, in simple words, front camera wont open, therefore, it wouldnt work.
I even tried to unroot but even after doing factory reset, I can't seem to make it work.
Any thoughts? Please see PS below:

Thanks for your reply.
Model: BLA-L29
Build Number: BLA-L29 8.0.0.135(C605)
EMUI Version: 8.0.0
The weird thing is that I ran a factory reset to remove any root stuff and I still cannot use the face unlock feature due to the error mentioned above.
I had the phone rooted and bootloader unlocked and worked until I rooted the phone.

Is this the original firmware or you rebrand the rom?
Hi, I am on BLA-L29 800142(C432)stock & rooted phone with Magisk V16. Face unlock still running without any problems. Maybe it has something to do with the FH rooting tool?

Original firmware. OTA update.
How your stock camera? Does that work with the front facing?

It's because of FH Root tool.
Download your stock ramdisk from here: https://mega.nz/#!BWxElaRA!lUb-u-jXaPSAN8OrbyG4tEKCWttvqPxMPOVBn6h1PRY
Then flash it using 'fastboot flash ramdisk RAMDISK_BLA-L29C605B135.img'
Then flash Magisk from TWRP.
Factory reset only resets /data, root is kept in your ramdisk (Well. App is kept in /data, but it's just an app.)

Yes, both cameras work as expected. The only flaw is for the face recognition for unlock.

Thanks for your help on this. I just flashed the ramdisk as you told me to. By any chance, do you have the URL to instructions to root with this method? Ive found a few but they dont seem to work for me.
Thanks once again!

I just confirmed that after adding the boot image you provided, I get an error stating that there's no boot image (error when trying to get into recovery mode). The good thing is that the phone can boot normally to Android, it just freaked the cr#p out of me!

It's the stock ramdisk for your firmware, so it shouldn't cause any problems. However, if you have no recovery_ramdisk or it's incorrect it wouldn't be able to get to recovery.
Flash twrp using fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk twrp.img

Thanks! Yeah, apparently the ramdisk doesnt belong to this phone. I was able to install TWRP. I'm following the guides you provided as I type this. Let me go through these and I'll get back with you!
It works now! The problem I was having is that I tried installing the Magisk from TWRP as ZIP (which this time I couldnt find anywhere on the phone after copying it via graphical interface in android) so I just ran this command:
adb sideload Filepath\Magisk.zip
This installed Magisk on my home screen and I applied the patch from the app. I rebooted and voilá! it works now. It even had the previous configuration already applied, it recognized my face without even setting it up again.
As the phone was already rooted, Im not sure if this app really roots the phone as it didnt require a factory reset as other methods do, but the issue is now fixed!
Thank you for your support on this matter!

It does not require a factory reset. That was only needed before when TWRP couldn't decrypt phone, and it can now thanks to zxz0o0 and Pretoriano80. Then you had to Format Data to flash as Magisk installs some things to /data (contrary to what I said earlier, but it does need to patch ramdisk to function ). SuperSU only places its apk in /data/ while the rest lives in ramdisk.

Question I need custom rom and twrp for galaxy tab a7 lite.

Twrp is not for galaxy tab a7 lite please i need a rom and twrp for this tablet. Thanks for watch this discussion.
It is a new device it will take some time to get someone to port it for Tab A7. Similar issues were happending with my galaxy A12 which had no custom recovery builds.
One ui core is phenomenal as it is, no offense to Samsung but I do believe that lineage OS or any other stock android OS would somehow increase the performance even more, battery life should may or may not change as it's great already!
Rooting itself is incredibly easy, just use the Magisk patched AP method after you unlock the bootloader.
As for custom recoveries. I've been working on it for a bit trying to port a working build, but as of this moment the only thing I have is a successful Odin flash with no actual TWRP boot (It just hangs at the "phone is not running Samsung official firmware" indefinitely, not an actual loop). Of course even with the broken recovery flashed, I can still boot to system, so I dunno.
But if anyone wants to give a fresh set of eyes and see if I've missed anything, I've attached a zip of the odin-ready recovery.img and the decompiled twrp build. Just let me know.
TLDR: For anyone just glancing over this, this IS NOT a working TWRP port

Have you made any headway? I also spent a significant amount of time attempting to port TWRP. I was able to get TWRP to boot but touch did not work. Plugging in a mouse to a usb dongle, I was about to navigate TWRP but I was not able to do much. I had probelms mounting and editing the DATA partition. Im guessing it was an FSTAB config or an android 11 partitioning problem. I'm pretty fresh to this stuff but still made some progress. I gave up a bit ago but maybe I'll mess around with it a bit more.

Once booted to twrp, I wasnt able to flash multidisabler because DATA wasnt mountable. In my case, flashing with Odin worked. Unfortunately the linux vm I did all this work on died so I lost all my progress.
