So, I have a vivo y55 (marshmallow, 6.0.1), which I BADLY want to root. I know that vivo is considered as 'unrootable', and no guide is present to fully root a vivo device, but yet, I managed to install twrp and installed xposed framework on it.
The problem comes when I try to root it. Installing magisk results in a bootloop, but installing supersu doesn't do so, but I still get no root. On running su in terminal, I get 'operation not permitted' error.
On checking the kernel logs, I saw that the process 'daemonsu' exits with status 0. Is that normal?
The strange thing is, placing scripts in su.d folder DO work (I've only tested the one which makes selinux permissive, though). And after booting the supersu-modified boot.img, the phone doesn't recognize if it's been connected to a computer, so it only keeps on charging, and adb doesn't work, too. All I want to ask is, is there a solution?

So, yesterday I rooted my LG G3 (ZVE version) and then installed TWRP and then flashed Xposed. Everything seemed fine but after rebooting, I got the dreaded "Security Error". Due to an excellent walkthrough here on XDA, I was able to fix it (at 2 in the morning.....grrrrr) and now I am back at having a rooted ZVE version but with no TWRP or Xposed.
So, can I just temporarily boot into TWRP (fastboot boot twrp.img) and then use that to flash Xposed? If so, which version of Xposed do I flash for this phone? Will that avoid the "Security Error" screen?
Basically, I just need help getting Xposed installed. I don't necessarily need (or really want) to permanently install TWRP (although if I have to I could)...just interested in getting Xposed installed.
Thanks!
No help on this? Is it not possible (or just too convuluted)?

this might not help you but when I rooted my phone i got xposed installed with twrp but that was on zv4. I unrooted my phone cause i was hoping sprint would released mm so i dont know how it works on zve
I tried a pretty regular method of installing TWRP and then Xposed, but I had that security error which was a huge pain to have to fix....hopefully somebody chimes in.
Hi guys,
so few days ago i tried to root my new honor 9 , i followed this guide https://android.gadgethacks.com/how-to/magisk-101-install-magisk-root-with-twrp-0179668/ , unlocked bootloader, installed twrp and stuff. But It seems like i've missed some part, I don't know where tho because when I try to flash magisk then boot my phone and install the apk i have the Fix SafetyNet 'CTS Profile' & 'Basic Integrity' Errors with Magisk...I then read this https://android.gadgethacks.com/how-to/magisk-101-fix-safetynet-cts-profile-mismatch-errors-0178047/ but none of the solution here worked (most of them are related to supersu which i never installed to my phone so). Also magisk doesnt seem to installed properly, since i always have the "install button". I tried to redo the last step (uninstall magisk then reinstall it) and some factory reset but still the same problem.
What should I do please? I ask here because I don't want to mess up anymore.
Also, I even tried to reinstall the stock rom with this guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73334439&postcount=1 but as soon asI open the bat file, it disapear. So i don't know what to do anymore...
Thank you.

Hey I just picked up this phone and decided I would like to maximize it to its fullest potential, and root it as I have done with previous phones. This ones giving me a hard time, and I just can't seem to find the proper info for it.
I have unlocked the bootloader, flashed TWRP 3.1.1 and want to gain root access. I have followed several guides, used every possible one-click unsuccessfully, and tried installing SuperSU with TWRP. After I reboot, SuperSU is installed. I'll open it up and it tells me the binaries are occupied. I've tried downgrading and updating the binaries but I get errors. (I believe this is because it must be rooted first - of course.)
So I'm stuck unable to get any further. If anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate it. Is this phone with this configuration unrootable? There must be a way if I have recovery right?
Asus Zenfone 4 Z01KD/ZE554KL
Android Nougat 7.1.1 - 14.1060.1708.63 (NOT 1708.70)
TWRP 3.1.1 installed
One thing I have not tried is using Magisk. When I try it, it stops because I already patched with SuperSU (even though it failed). I never backed up before I did it with SuperSU I really thought it would work.
I read of people doing it with Magisk after updating to Oreo. I want to give that a try but I can't OTA or flash from TWRP. All attempts result in error 7.
I can't find a stock recovery to flash to do the update either. Is there a way to undo this, OTA and repatch with Magisk? Even if I don't bother updating, I would like to find a stock image to flash so I can try patching with Magisk.
Stock rom recovery.img anywhere? Am I alone?
i dont own this device but i read this and it might apply to you. also did you flash the supersu uninstaller and them try magisk?

hey i have the zenfone 4 ze554kl i updated it to android 9 unlocked the bootloader and got Twrp running but not correctly and i can't root the phone .....
As SuperSU causes nothing but trouble in terms of being able to use android pay, many apps, and the like, I wanted to move over to magisk, but I have SuperSU by virtue of a flashed boot image, so no matter what I try I can't get rid of superSU (even been rooting around in the system files to try and get rid of it and it just comes back).
Is there a magisk boot image for the E2303, and if not does anyone have a stock boot.img for the e2303 on hand, as I have managed to lose mine

Open supersu app Go to>setting's>select Full Unroot (clean up for permanent unroot)
Or do a clean install ( reflash ftf on flashtool ) then go get sorted with magisk
You can get everything you need to root with magisk for your M4 by LOOKING HERE.
Or checking out HERE.
Good luck
Good afternoon. I ran into a problem that I can not install magic on the device. This requires installing TWRP, which has not been officially released. There is an article on this forum that you can install TWRP, but if I do this, the phone goes into an endless TWRP download - https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/recovery-bkl-emui-8-x-unofficial -twrp-3-2-1-0-working-recovery-from-view-10.3798751/
Version - 3.2.1-0 does not work. I tried iterating through the versions and found 1 which opens TWRP but it doesn't work properly - https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/root-emui-9-0.3883991/. It doesn't clean up, it doesn't install. Some errors in the logs.
I also tried through this instruction - https://4pda.to/forum/index.php?showtopic=904618&st=6220#entry89786439
Next, I tried to find the firmware for this phone, which is extremely difficult. Android version - 9.1.0.xxx
I need this in order to pull out the boot file from there and patch it through the magic. I found the firmware from Colombia. I'm trying to install via HuUpdater. He tries to install 3.2.1-0 TWRP, which does not work, and install the firmware through it, which also does not work. I installed another TRWP where it runs but nothing works. Through it does not want to be installed. My bootloader is unlocked.
I no longer know how to get root rights.
Several times I was able to get root rights, but I could not do a factory reset and the magic did not work properly. It's critical for me. I need to be able to do a factory reset.
Help me please.
Hi! You tried to get the boot.img from your rom, and patched it with magisk, and flashed it to the phone?

I can't do this because this requires a TRWP which is not in working order.
