Gear Fit no more supported by Samsung Gear Fit manager ? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi together,
i´ve bought a Samsung Galaxy Gear Fit. I want to use it with my HTC One M9. So i tried to use the modded apk from this post:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...d-samsung-gear-app-android-n-samsung-t3547035
It works for me, but when i try to find the gear fit, he doesn´t find it. If i press the button for looking other, he didn´t find anythingh.
Is this generation of gear fit not supported by this app?
Kind regards
Marcel

[Q] Gear Fit Manager keeps crashing

Hi all,
First post here. I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Edition phone I-9505G and just got the Gear Fit as a gift. I've been doing extensive research to see if the fit would pair with my phone. I am currently running Lollipop and the latest firmware for the Gear Fit (R350XXU0BNG2). I've downloaded the gear fit manager from this thread here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gear-fit/general/gear-fit-manager-patched-lollipop-t2965215
I still get an error Gear fit manager has stopped each time the moment I connect properly with my phone via bluetooth. Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks!

gear s connect to samsung tab a

Hi guys
I recently purchased a new gear s and thought i was doing the right thing by purchasing a samsung tab A t550 to run gear manager to get full functionality from the gear as i have a OPO phone. Problem is i cant get the gear to connect to gear manager. Gear manager is not available in the galaxy app store on tablet so i downloaded latest version from this site and installed but just says searching and wont find thd gear.... ive tried different versions and made sure bluetooth on and vusible on both devices etc etc. No joy. Is the tab not supported which seems silly and is there a fix? ? Im in australia too by the way...
Only Samsung phones are support. Sorry, no tab support.

SHealth available for all Android devices

Yesterday SHealth app became available for all android devices to prepare for Gear S2 to work on non-Samsung devices.
It works also with Gear Fit. If you have a non-Samsung device, you need to change a ro.product.brand line in build.prop to:
Code:
ro.product.brand=samsung
Now after reboot you should see all compatible devices in Accesories tab in SHealth. You need to have Gear Fit Manager installed and connected with your Gear Fit.
I have 5.1.1 stock Sony Xperia Z ROM with Gear Fit Manager from here and SHealth app always shows 0 steps in pedometer tab and doesn't get Sleep/Heart Rate data, but received weight info from Gear Fit. Maybe it will work on non-Samsung devices with another version of Gear Fit Manager or another ROM, you can try and write here.

Nope. Your solution doesn't works for me.
OnePlus One 5.1.1
What do you mean? If you don't see Gear Fit on Accesories list, try to change ro.product.manufacturer to samsung, ro.product.name and ro.product.device to zeroltetmo.
I have this configuration and Gear Fit is on the list:
Code:
ro.product.brand=samsungs
ro.product.manufacturer=samsungs
ro.product.name=zeroltetmo
ro.product.device=zeroltetmo
ro.build.product=zeroltetmo
zeroltetmo is the code name of Galaxy S6 Edge.

Ok, I saw all accessories but the fit manager doesn't pair with FIT now.
I get back to my original build.prop.
Hope Samsung will release an update soon for Shealth that allow us to fully sync with FIT.

Maybe this happens because you do have a Samsung phone.
Do you still have TouchWiz ROM?
I tried but it fails on my OnePlus.
Can someone else try with a not-samsung device?

yea i using stock touchwiz rom , but a3 does not support gear fit
so i use the patch version on xda , modify build.prob samsung to blablabla
TouchWiz is the secret.
I think this sync will never work on any other ROM unless samsung release a fix.
@garrax do u mean s health is working with a non samsung device when touchwiz is running?
is it possible to install touchwiz on htc one mini 2 ?

I had a look with google but the answer is NO.
Neither here on XDA. It seems it works just on samsung devices.

Need help clarifying the pairing process

Hi guys,
sorry if i opened this thread and the question is already out there, but i couldn't find it on my own.
So i own a p9 Lite and a gear s, and i would like to use them together. I read in a thread that the gear manager app is now compatible with all the android devices, and that in order to pair the phone with a gear s you need to install the gear s plugin.
I did both of those things but i cannot find the gear s in the listed devices.
The funny thing is that i see it just fine in the bluetooth section of android...
So what i did is this: download gear manager, download gear s plugin, open the app and select "another device", since the gear S is not listed in the 4 categories.
Did i do something wrong? Is there some process (huawei services pops to mind) that is blocking the operation?
Thanks a lot!
Alberto
