WTH ?!?
No one stranges that there is a regression in build number from the October update?!?
September OPR6.170623.019
October OPR5.170623.007
October update was supposedly built around the same date that September update (?!?), it's from an earlier branch code (OPR5) opposed the September update (OPR6).
Can't understand this...
How to install the build on the rooted Nexus 6P
Actually it is the same brunch, 17063 , maybe earlier revision.

I simply downloaded the full factory image, unzipped. Edited the flash-all.bat file and removed the "-W"
Then run the file and just before it rebooted , went to bootloader, flashed TWRP, booted to recovery, flashed root and ElementalX 5.0.4 and I am done.
Can anyone provide a flashable OTA for twrp?

Yes u can!!!! You can flash the full OTA in TWRP with no problems!!! It will flash unconditionally the system partition and won't delete any thing from internal storage!!! You will loose any modification that you'll have on system, except TWRP.

First make sure you're installing the OTA for the 6P and not for another device, also confirm your checksum is correct. Also you could check this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h5Kp_jybnjQ
The OP posted the link directly to the SHAMU (Motorola Nexus 6) section .. not ANGLER (Huawei Nexus 6P) so be careful.
The correct direct link is https://developers.google.com/android/images#angler

Fixed it in the main page.
I am confused because of the build number. Does "OPR" mean Oreo Pre-Release?

wth?? did you read my post?? I was using the full ota image!!!
I discovered, in the TWRP thread, that it's a bug that TWRP has with Oreo OTAs!!! Have to edit the updater script file and remove the first two lines.

In this case It would be easier to simply download the full factory image and flash manually the separate images.

Yes, JWR66Y is a very small update. There are no new features. It's purely a security update.

Can you go into your /cache folder and get the name of the zip file?
I got it just now. Wouldn't update because I'd changed Velvet.apk now I can't get it again.
EDIT:
Ah, nice it was in cache like someone mentioned above. It is indeed JWR66Y
EDIT 2:
Copied it to the internal, flashed in TWRP. It said patching, removed root, but failed on flashing recovery.
I'll upload the file in a moment.
OK. If you guys get the update again, please look in your /cache folder and give us the filename before you try to install it. Once we have the filename, we can provide the link to the file on Google's server. That way, if you can't get it again, it won't matter because you can just download the file directly. Thanks!
Check above

I couldn't sideload it using the stock recovery :/ It failed on "setperms"
I'll have to grab factory image and unpack it into a CWM zip at some point.
If anybody could make a zip for CWM thatd be awesome :good:
mine also fails at permissions - check this thread out seems to be figured out -http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1745781&page=53
a line needs to be changed to #set_perm(0, 0, 0544, "/system/etc/install-recovery.sh"); because of the way the daemon is in supersu if somebody could whip up a manta zip like the ones they have were set

So I ended up making my own zip for CWM, changed the line I mentioned above and removed the asserts. Worked fine here but flash at your own risk. Flashed supersu 1.51 after flashing the update and answered No to fixing the recovery.

So, it appears that it's a small security update, it'll remove root, and I can expect to have problems with it with TWRP. Nice. Got it early this afternoon, will have to mess with getting it working later.

I have worked with Dees_Troy to get a build out for the OnePlus 2. Download available here: https://twrp.me/devices/oneplustwo.html
Please test and let us know if there are any issues. Should work with all three devices. I currently have a2001 64gb.
Current version of TWRP will flash OTA's. I have tested this.
if anybody wants to become a device maintainer let us know. You need required skills to build TWRP from source.

Is Device Encryption supportet in this build?
I haven't tested that yet, not something I would normally use.
works on A2003 64gb! thanks!
There's an issue with the device name of recovery. Currently it's "oneplus2" which prohibits OTAs from being installed because it requires device name to be "OnePlus2". (Case sensitive)

You need to be familiar with building twrp from source. Meaning, you're grabbing the device tree from github and merging it with the twrp sources.
@Stephen: As soon as I get a new PC (should be somewhere around next month, maybe November), I could help out once I got my build environment set up.

Not in the TWRP app, it needs to be updated first I guess. But you can download and flash it using Flashify.
I was just about to ask about encryption support. Looks like only way to update is with an otg cable but my USB c adapter hasn't come yet.
I have this TWRP 2.8.7.0 version, installed on my OP2 64GB A2001 since about a month ago.
So? What is actually new here? Should I install the "new" version over the same
version, that is already installed on my device?

Being officially supported by TWRP means that future recovery versions will be automatically built (and you'll be able to install using their tool from the Play Store), so it's worthwhile effort getting to this point.

Tested on B180 Lollipop, wiped cache and dalvik, used rm -rf instead of formatting option and very quick wiping. Made a back-up and one error report about being ''unable to locate 3rmodem partition for backup calculation'', but I think we just probably don't have this partition on our phone?
This version also remembered all my settings, time zone, timeouts etc from previous TWRP version.
All seems good so far.

Easily flashable via stock recovery.
Steps -
(You need to remain connected to Internet/Wifi, as updater verifies the package)
1. Go to updater
2. Click the 3 dots icon on top right
3. Click "choose update package"
4. Choose this zip
5. Click Ok
Whole process may take 15 min - 30 min. In my case it took about 20 mins.
Enjoy ?

100% you won't lose unlocked bootloader. Twrp, even if lost it might be due to some mistake during flashing, can be recovered by flashing it using fastboot mode. You may have to wipe (just wipe no need to format anything in data partition) before installation. I think dirty flash won't work.

Ask the forum moderator who just closed a previous thread.
@Agrim720 has developed a super kernel for the Galaxy A20
For phones running a GSI with the U2 bootloader (June 2019 Firmware)
1. Download the new zimage and hktweaks from here.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=81010583&postcount=144
2. Follow my installation instructions here.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=81013993&postcount=145
The quick way is to download and unzip my new boot.img and install it from TWRP.
View attachment boot.zip
Just have your original patched boot.img ready just in case. If things go wrong, you just need to install your boot.img to get back to where you were.
For phones with the U3-U4 bootloader (late Oct - Nov 2019) @Agrim720 has developed his ripper kernel here
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-a20/development/kernel-ripper-kernel-v1-0-t4020627
The stock kernel allocates 2 core at 1.56GHz and 6 cores at 1.352GHz
The super kernel increases the CPU speeds to 2 cores at 2.184GHz and 6 at 1.586GHz
If you want to see the highest frequencies, you need to use hktweaks to set the minimum frequencies to equal the maximum frequencies.
If you don't use hktweaks, it will generally restrict itself to 1.768GHz and 1.482GHz

I just tried to backup with this kernel in place and it wouldn't backup data.
I had to reflash my patched stock boot.img

its a twrp thing not kernel related.
@physwizz
Can't seem to make it boot up. I followed all your instructions, maybe I have to use a GSI Rom?

Hi @Deluriane
You do NOT need GSI. It will work on any firmware now.
I just did a full Root / Twrp on the latest stock firmware from NOV. [ A205GUBU4ASK2 ] and it worked perfectly.
Just follow the correct guide for U4 and use the correct boot.img (compressed to a tar) and it WILL work :good:
Try it and let us know. :cyclops:

@Agrim720 has developed a new kernel for the Galaxy A20
1. Download the new zimage and hktweaks from here.

2. Follow my installation instructions here.

The quick way is to download and unzip my new boot.img and install it from TWRP.

Just have your original patched boot.img ready just in case. If things go wrong, you just need to install your boot.img to get back to where you were.

I think the links have been deleted because the kernel doesn't follow the rules

I dont have it installed right now since went back to stock since installing GSI, going to try out the custom kernel, reroot and reinstall TWRP.
Didnt have TWRP before when I tried installing the kernel using Odin, but since Agrim720 released a TWRP and worked on my phone didnt try to install the kernel again.
