DEVICE INFO BELOW:
> PHONE MODEL: Moto E 2014 XT1021.
> ROOT STATUS: Rooted, bootloader unlocked.
> ROM: Stock 4.4.4 (with nano Gapps+SuperSU).
Hello all.
Little introduction: I downgraded from 5.1 to 4.4.4 with fastboot (with bootloader already unlocked since a long while ago).
In the proccess, I accidentally used the commands "fastboot erase all" and "fastboot -w". Repeteadly (yes, I am a dumbass).
After that, I successfully flashed Stock/SuperSU/Nano Gapps. I rebooted my phone...
Main problem: So everything is fine now, excepting that I'm missing any "phone" utility, as I can't send/receive SMS, nor calls, and I neither can use WhatsApp (as I can't register it), or even activate mobile data. In addition, I can't see the default "Carrier SIM" application that came with my phone originally (that tiny app that lets you enter into your SIM and view/acquire some basic, old SMS-based services).
Basically, my phone is good as an MP4 now.
With the little research I did all along the Internet, I understand I have deleted vital system files with those commands, especially the EFS folder, containing absolutely important system files and data. Still, I know that there SHALL be a way to recover my phone. So:
-How can I begin to troubleshoot this problem?
-What ideas can be applied for solving this problem?
Useful information:
-I have NO BACKUP of my original EFS folder (nor nv_data.bin files, etc.).
-I have my SIM number (It's on the back of the battery).
-I have my original product serial number.
-I can connect myself to the Internet using Wi-Fi networks.
-I'm absolutely sure the flashed ROM was the correct (It's a "STOCK" ROM).
-Useful screenshots:

IMPORTANT: I've already tried:
-Flashing modem files multiple times
-Re-inserting SIM Card
-Flashed some various ROMs (Carbon and Resurrection Remix).
-Basically, everything else found on the surface of the Internet.
Thanks in advance. Please request any additional information that may be useful for you guys.
Greetings, Viciecal

Hello
I would like my Android device encrypted, as it contains sensitive data. I'm currently on cm-9.0.0-rc1-tinystream-hephappy-p500 (RC1-Rev.B). Now, here is what happened:
- To encrypt internal
I went to Security in System Settings and touched "Encrypt Device". It gave some confirmations and I've accepted them however, now I'm kind of stuck on this screen.

}
My first thought was "it is encrypting". But after hours of waiting, I wanted to check if it's done already. So I clicked the power-button once (just to unlock) and it asked for my password. I've entered it and it just went into my normal launcher. I've checked if anything had changed and no, my device has not been encrypted. Any logs somewhere? Any ideas what could have caused the problem?
- To encrypt SDcard
I did some research and didn't find something perfectly for my needs. Anyone has any idea on how to encrypt an SD card to properly work together with Android?
Note: I am using LINK2SD.
Thanks for your help
Another question that actually has nothing to do with my previous post that I post here because it's not worth a new thread: every time I plug in my phone into the charger, it boots automaticly. I don't want that, my previous build of CM9 did just recharge without booting, something I prefer. Any way to configure that?
Another question I want to add to the this thread: is it possible to combine a password lock and a slide lockscreen? Like when I encrypt the phone to enter a password to decrypt it again and then just use the normal slide lockscreen to unlock it each time after the decryption?
One last question: is there any way to encrypt the SQL database in Android? As it contains sensitive data... I've read something about SQLCipher but it doesn't get to work (any help would be appreciated).
Thread can be removed. Problems already solved. Discussion about security here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1790964

Hi,
After flashing the ROM XXLSJ, my phone has now a fake emei (004999010640000 / 01). Despite this, everything works fine: network, data, WIFI ...
I have a backup of my EFS folder, but even when I restored it, nothing changes and I still have the same emei (not original).
I tried the GSII_Repair.apk, EFS_Pro_1.12.6_Release, flash the origin ROM with Odin, but these didn't repair my phone.
An other idea?

I have ever done this, but always this fake emei.
An other idea?
Too, when I use GalaxySimUnlock.apk, it says code product : not active and Version HW : REV_
Is it normal?
Not enough to restore efs. You need to make sure the files inside have the right permissions. The one responsible fo imei should have linux permissions 755

What are the good permissions if I use rootexplorer.apk?
And when I open this file (nvdata.bin) wih an hex software I can see this message (not active) at the 0080810 offset. Have I modify it?
Ypu can set it to 700 actually... Meaning rwx for the owner. Then reboot the phone.

I've bought this Coolpad 7295 phone for less than three days from China.
It seems that I couldn't flash my phone back to the state where I could get the service for calling the first day.
After the second rom flashing with my flash tool. I kind of formated the Yl-parames and NVRAM section of the phone.
I don't know these two mean! Could someone explain how they work? Are they related to the hardware or the motherboard of the phone?
After the wrong formatting action, my phone could not make any calls. (But everything works, and network works also. And later I flashed many roms, all of them work, just no signal)
So the third picture shows that this device has a different partition compared to the most smartphones in the hardware called "YL-parames".
My friend who is good at making custom roms in Taiwan said I might accidentally screw up with the hardware partition.
I just want to know with this problem appearing, is there any other way that I could get my signal back?
I've tried several methods like rewriting IMEIs, reinstalling the official roms, but none of them work.
Or should I just send it back to the dealer to get it fixed? (I'm doing it right now...)
Just want to know in case the phone is back, how should I operate this flashing tool because I'm really a tech-savy
1) The first picture represents what i chose for the outcome of no signals later on.
2) The next one is its interface
3) The next one is the official flashing tool, but I still can not flash the CPB provided by the official since my hardware seems to be broken.

I would really like somebody to develop the custom rom in the English version for this device, this device is pretty good!
Or is there anybody using this phone as well? It's nice to have someone to exchange info with!!
Hello all,
I've been flashing rooms on the phone for quite a while now, but last weekend i flashed a new CM14.1 ROM onto the phone with the new GAPPS with it. Before doing this i ofcourse wiped the needed partitions in order for them to work right. However, since i've done this and flashed the new software, the phone doenst have access to the internal storage while being booted into the system (OS)..
When i boot into TWRP, i have full access to the internal storage and i'm able to create new folders and copy/cut/paste files onto it. Down here, you see i've created a new folder using the PC while its booted in TWRP.

"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
When i try to do this while its booted in CM14.1 (android 7.1.1, but i think any ROM i'd flash) this happens:
To translate this from Dutch to English: "The new folder couldn't be created on this location. The device isn't responding anymore or the connection has been lost".
When i browse to the internal storage through the OS itself, it does show up. However, i dont have any access to create new folders or files or to change them:
Also when i try to take a picutre using the camera, it says this:
Even when i enable developer options and giving root to both apps and adb, it still doesnt have the required access to perform these actions:
Also going to the gallery, it says that there is no storage available:
I also looked up some info about the partition, which might be useful for those who have some knowledge about this.. This is what i found using the app "Diskinfo":
And i also used the commands ls -l to show the permissions of the /data/media/(and)0/ to see what rights are giving out:
As you see here, the app itself didnt have access to go to the storage location untill i gave it "su" rights. Does this mean the entire OS doesnt have access to this location because it simply doesnt have the right permissions for it?
If anyone has any suggestions or wants to help me figure out what is wrong, please feel free to reply here or through a PM. It would be highly appreciated.
///Edit
After searching around on the web i came across a post where someone said that running the TWRP advanced option "Fix Context" would reset all permissions that you normally dont do yourself. So i've ran that, it ran for like 0.5 second before being finished. After rebooting the phone into the system (OS/Android) all problems were solved and permissions were set right.
Therefore my problem is resolved now, and this topic could be closed ^^
Greetings community I have a big problem with my Z5 Compact E5803.
A couple of months ago I unlocked the Bootloader, I rooted it and never had any problem (I did all this in the version of Android 6.0.1) until I decided to update it by Flashtool to the latest existing version of Nougat (I downloaded the firmware E5803_32. 4.A.1.54_Generic LAM, through XperiFirm).
The fact is that by mistake I included these options in the firmware flash:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Now the problem is that I can not flash any kernel to root my phone, since I always get the same message in both Flashtool and Fastboot mode; "FAILED (remote: command not allowed)", I can not unblock or block the bootloader again, my cell phone does not recognize the nano SIM, and the screen freezes when I enter the camera application.
I made several attempts to flash again the firmware I had before flashing Nougat, Marshmallow (32.2.A.0.224_R7C_Latin America Generic_1299-2789.ftf), I tried to block the bootloader by Flashtool and unlock it again, according to the program all right but when reviewing the phone keeps appearing "Rooting status: unknown".
Community, I do not know what else to do, I would be very grateful for a definitive solution, thank you :crying:
PD.: I had posted this before, but I think I did it in the wrong place
I will be attentive to your comments and suggestions community and if the photos are not published in the post I will gladly pass the link :good: where you can see them. Sorry for my bad english
I do not know what you can do now
but I know where you were wrong , you did not have to tick SIMLOCK

Yesterday I tried and unfortunately it did not work
Well, flashtool should backup your previous TAs. Find them at C:/user/.flashTool/registeredDevices/serial number/rawta/date.fta
Backup
do not back up with Flashtool but I have a backup made with this tool:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony/universal-dirtycow-based-ta-backup-t3514236
I have the file:
TA_E5803_XXXXXXXXXX_xxxxxxxx-xxx.img :victory:
perhaps this helps:
Restoring TA to factory state

I cannot give any further advice, as I am not aware what the "Misc TA" options actually do. good luck
