Sony Camera App Sub? - Xperia Z4/Z3+ Themes and Apps

Hiya! I was wondering what kind of cam apps have you been using. I'm currently on resurrection remix 5.8.4 and its brilliant! It works amazingly! But ofcourse its difficult to replace the default sony camera app. So I was wondering what substitute does everyone use one way or another?

How's your battery life with that ROM? how many SOTs are you getting on a casual internet/facebook use?
Also, i recommend Xnext camera, you could find a flashable zip here somewhere.

Its been awesome! Its faster and really more bearable in comparison to stock. I used the LXT 1.5 Link
and thermal fix FSC Link
I still havent really observed my sot yet from the battery it self ill update you tomorrow but definitely faster charging with just a 2amp output charger. But drainage in idle is like 1% per hour i noticed when i wake up. And the temperature has been average it still gets warm but not as hot as it used to even while playing games like sao or khu. And thanks for the cam app! ^_^

I have a question, can you just install the zip and clean dalvik/cache or do you still have to do what the op mentioned.
If you come from RC v2.1 or ROMX you maybe need to reflash a clean system. Don't reflash ROMX 3.1! # Should be outdated

I am no expert, but if it worked without any problems on resurrection remix, then it should work on Lineage OS. Since RR is based on LineageOS anyway.

i am looking at the things i need to do to convert the temasek rom into multirom. and it has already been done on this updater-script. i think it might work. i don't do the multirom thing so i cannot try it to find out. what is the worst that can happen... it hangs and you gotta reflash something else? give it a shot and let peeps know if ya would.

Battery life screen shot..
Sent from my A001 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
k. not much of a point in posting the battery life till i run through a charge. but will post one when i do. i can say that i installed the rom at 25% had some issues and ended up flashing it three times until i got the updater script right. after that i messed around with the xiaomi apps.
i have 3h33s on battery.
1h14m sot
21m voice calls.
and the two apps them selves takes up 7% while it was sitting with 25% brightness for an hour while i translated. and was running a bit of wifi in the background to translate and stream cameras.
stuck it on to charge at 13%
so early projections are pretty dad gum good id say.

so two days 4h sot. 22min phone. streamed a 4 gig new hunger games over chromecast (no screen). watched 30 min of ufc (local cast would not stream it). played twenty or so min of leo's fortune. all of the rest of screen time was from gmail, chrome, hangouts, xoaomi dropcam.
the antutu was quite low and unverified. 44k. i am used to seeing 50k on the temasek builds. although that 50k lowers to 40k when im running the ak kernel. so maybe the kernel has something to do with it.
overall... stock is not as fast as the temasek builds, and i hate having to wait 3-5 secs for the lockscreen to appear.

did the camera and battery improve since release

i used to follow zenfone 2 in the early stage when people used to talk about boot-loader unlock and crappy camera and battery. since then lot has been done as far as i see. now i am considering to buy this phone.
1. does this phone has the same bad battery life(standby+during use) like just after release in the custom roms like CM12.1 ,CM13 reseruction remix, Blisspop as i wouldn't use the stock rom most probably,(can anyone please post battery usage with hours till full charge, screen brightness % and screen on time)
2. what about camera? does it still take bad picture with stock/custom rom ? can anyone please post some sample photo?
thanks in advance
1.battery has improved but will depend on tour usage. stand by time is pretty good.
2.camera has improved quite a bit, check the photo thread to see samples.

what is total up time and brightness level? can you please post gsm battery screenshot?
Battery is ok, though nothing special. You can usually get a day out of it with about 4 hours SOT, and SOT can be pushed up to 6 or even 7 hours if you use in certain ways (not using LTE, as the cellular modem is a battery hog on the ZF2). I think this battery life is similar to a lot of flagship and midrange phones, and it has quickcharging too, which helps.
Given the price of the phone, the camera is pretty good if you use the stock firmware. On CM or other CM-based custom ROM, however, it becomes very limited - functional, but only really able to shoot snaps of social media posting grade. If the camera is a priority then I'd recommend sticking on stock or going for a different device.

Yea i got the stock camera pixel master on bliss pop. The camera sucks. And that sucks because i love bliss pop so much!
Camera is pretty good on stock rom but others its a no go
1. I don't think there's much difference in battery life through the updates, but I never cared about it since battery life was more than enough for me from the beginning. Based on my observation:
- Time to full charge: I guess around 2.30 hours from 0% to 100%. I only because I'm using the multiple-charging method which is to try to keep the phone between 50% and 90%.
- Screen on time: >4 hours at 50% auto bright ness, or more if you lower the brightness level. I don't think it's a good duration for many people but it serves me well enough. Also notice that I'm on stock with a LOT of configuration, I have been using Android for years so I know what is needed to do to achieve the most screen on time. Of course on custom roms you can push it a lot farther, but I haven't rooted my phone yet so I don't know how much more you can get. Basically, I think this is a bad thing because casual users are not supposed to be experienced like me to use a phone. The phone should be good enough for everyone with basic knowledge of Android.
- Camera: it's really bad at taking in low light, a lot a lot of noise and the darker it is, the worse it gets until it looks completely crappy. On the contrary, I think it's very good in day light, the color and details are kept naturally. It's acceptable for me.

Yes. I ran pure cm13. It was awesome both with stock and Blu spark kernel. And I have an absolute zero tolerance for lag.
Not to forget the battery drops on wifi... I was frustrated by the battery drops and switched back to stock and blu spark kernel.

I too have this problem. I have tried CM13, Temasek's CM13, RR, Purity and all of them began after few days with micro lag and stuttering. Although what is strange to me when is when I was testing scrolling (for example news feed in facebook app) the performance was perfect, without any issue. Maybe we do something wrong with flashing or something... (I usually wipe everything, even internal storage...)
Hope someone will find a solution

Purenexus 7.0 with Franco kernel battery life

Here is a couple pictures of my phone right now after unplugging it at 100% 5 hours ago or so. Have been on the same WiFi the whole time and same brightness. Bluetooth has been on but not actually paired to anything. Have been playing games, Facebook, Messenger, and browsing the web. What do you guys think? Good battery life? Average? Should I be getting more with what I'm doing and since I've been on WiFi the whole time? I've only had a Nexus 6P for about 2 weeks now so trying to figure out if it's good or bad. Traded a used Moto X Pure for this device.
Last picture:
Average. Nougat battery life sucks and I'm tired of it.
About to go back to a MM ROM man.

I downgraded to MM today (phone came with N, I've only had it for a week).
I found Slim6 is fairly up to date, weekly build came out last week. Its on the Oct. security patch which is not far out of date.
I'm running it with the last Flash kernel for MM.

Thank you very much!!!
I really dug the samsung apps for the s-pen. is there a way to install them after installing lineageOS? (sorry for the newbie-question)
Hi,
i've installed the ROM yesterday and i used it today in case of a working day.
I have noticed that he unfortunately does not switch to LTE - despite full receipt. The tablet uses at most HSDPA, which makes the ROM for me currently not really usable.
It is also a bit slower than the stock ROM, but tolerable - only the network connection is still a hindrance.
I bought the tab because I thought, as a flagship this device will surely get the lineage OS.
I am still very enthusiastic and really thankful that someone has made such a great ROM for this tablet- many many thanks to the devs!!!
regards
Ralf
Edit: after reinstalling this ROM is found the switch to change the preferred connection type to LTE. So i go on using it

For the 820 the GPS is not working.
Can we expect the same with this 825 version?
Thanks for your efforts!!
Ok so, I gave the rom a chance and to be honest it works quite well.
Kudos to Valera and Bonuzzz for the effort, this is looking very promising.
I don't use the S-Pen nor the phone-calling stuff so, my experience with this build doesn't include those two.
General usage feels snappy, I only had some trouble while playing video streams on the stock browser and firefox. The problem went away while using chrome.
Tried a couple of HDR 4K files on MX Player and they seemed to play nicely.
Played around with the settings, everything cool.
The only problem so far is a huge battery drain during normal usage.
Aside from that, this is an excellent beginning.
Considering this is just a 1st release, it's very stable.
If you need any kind of testing, I'm more than willing to help.

Well, you should. At least it could give you a good idea of what to expect when the rom is ready.
I have never used lineage on a tablet so I wasn't sure what to expect.
For starters, normal use is just what you can imagine, youtube, chrome, mx player (hdr stuff), headphones, couple of silly games.
After checking how stable it was, tried Xposed -sucessfully- and every module worked fine (amplify, bootmanager, rootcloack, xnotify, youtube adaway). The drain is severe, you could literally notice the % going down ridiculously fast.
What's worst, my normal app usage and settings are designed to not duplicate what I can already do on my HTC 10.
So no GPS or Bluetooth, almost no applications doing sync stuff that I already have on my smartphone. (Gmail for e.g)
I always force wifi to sleep when display is off. Again, I don't need another device duplicating my smartphone.
LTE data is also off most of the time (and LTE works as expected per Speedtest -70 mbit-)
But again, settings are tweaked to maximize battery, while using it and while sleeping.
I have used BetterBatteryStats to take some measures, the drain is related to the core of the OS services.
A simple comparison with Stock. I just have started debloating touchwiz (very happy with the progress there too TBH), and barely scraching the surface of what can be done on stock, BBS is reporting 6.25 minutes per 1% of battery. Roughly 10 hours of battery of non stop use. After removing 85% of Samsung bloatware and its services, it's going to look even better. Samsung never ceases to amaze me with their never ending junk. So again, the rom is not ready for primetime. But that could change fast.
IMHO, you should install TWRP and do a backup of stock stuff and take a dive. Even if Lineage feels like android for smartphones, still works wonders. And you can go back to touchwiz in 3 minutes...
EDIT: Forgot to quantify the drain. The android energy forecast estimated 3-4 hours for a full charge. Closer to 3....
i wish there was developer who would give us debloated, tweaked stock rom .. i know this is not the right thread for making this post, but still
