Ok so my phone (LG G5) has recently seen a host of updates from Google. Currently on V7.0. quite simply I'm stuck with the Google app as a default homepage like so
https://flic.kr/p/YaKCPg
Whereas I'm used to and would like to keep the original like this
https://flic.kr/p/ZbTzaR
I've double checked my settings and the homepage is definitely Google as pushing the home icon brings it up. Is there a work round to get the original back in a new tab without having to push 'home' every time?
Many thanks. Hope this hasn't already been asked and the links work ok.
Did you check home screen settings in the chrome?
I believe it's a change in chrome. So roll back to older version and give it a try.

Yep. My chrome homepage is google.co.uk which works when you tap the home button just not when you open a new tab.

Just installed this browser to get rid of the annoying "browser not responding" and thus far, having pretty good luck and really liking the browser, much more than the stock.
My only gripe is, why can I not see the address bar when scrolled down far on the screen? For example, while in any other browser, if I am far down the page, as long as I "pull down" the address bar appears, but while in ICS quick browser, I have to scroll all the way back up to the top.
Is this a setting I can fix, or is that just the way it is? I hope is can be changed because I am really liking this browser.
Thanks!
if you tap once on the visible tab title area the address bar appears.
hope the above makes sense.

I tried that, I figured that would do the trick, but no. I have to go all the way back up. I wonder why this is. For example, I tried it on facebook as well as google news...somewhere I was able to be far down.
No other ideas? tapping in the tab area does nothing.
I been telling people about this browser for awhile now. It's badass! To get to a tab without scrolling all the way back up just tap the 4th button from the left next to the recent tabs key. It's what I always did. Hope that helps you.:good:

Updated my Vodafone firmware about a week ago, now running the BULP7 4.0.3 firmware.
In the previous version of the standard browser, when scrolling down large web pages, you could reveal the task bar at any point by changing to scrolling up. Now you need to scroll all the way back up before the task bar can be revealed. I used to use this lots when wanting to select another bookmark, without having to scroll all the way to the top of the web page. There's a new sidebar that can be switched on at any point when browsing, but it doesn't let you access the bookmark icon.
Anyone have any advice? I've tried most browsers, but settled on the standard one when they implemented the task bar enabling in the last version, would prefer to stick with the standard browser - maybe I'll see if I can hunt down the previous apk.

By "task bar", are you referring to the address bar? It also shows when you press the menu button, doesn't it?
And I don't think my standard browser ever did this. (show the address bar when switching scrolling from down to up) Though, the newer versions of Dolphin Browser did.

I guess it is the address bar, and the previous version of the standard browser certainly made the bar visible when changing from scrolling down to scrolling up, regardless of whether you were at the top or bottom of a webpage. This was the only thing that meant stayed with the standard browser. But with the new version of the browser, you need to scroll all the way back up for it to be visible.

Ah, things are different on the ICS browser from the GB browser. Sorry. I'm unable to answer this question.
Aha, you mentioned the menu button made it visible. I've now discovered if I hold down the menu button it eventually makes the address bar visible. If I just select the menu button I get the menu list for browser settings.
Maybe not a complete fix, but I'll see how I get on with this.
Another tip for you is to hold the back button to get direct access to your bookmarks. Hope that helps out a little.
go into the settings menu then to lab and enable fullscreen and the other option then you can get a action to show address bar from touching the edge of the screen.

I am a simple nook tablet user that has accidently changed my launch homescreen away from b&n one and would just get it back since it is what im used to. Never thought to bookmark it and now cannot remember or find addy. Can someone please provide for me so i can reset my homepage. Thnkx
If you mean the BN Nook Book Store it's http://www.barnesandnoble.com/u/NOOK-Book-eBook-store/379003094
web launch page
No I don't mean the store page. The page I am referring to is the one that was preset to come up when you clicked on the web button. It was a b and n page but also had the web search field as part of the page. Sorry to be a dork! Can't believe I never thought to book mark it!

Ok, this means you have an alternate launcher. Open the page with all your apps and look for one called "Home". That should be your stock home page If you can't find one called Home, look for "Home catcher". It's an app where you set what launcher to use when pressing "n".
Edit: Went and looked at rooted stock Tablet. Look in the bottom left corner of your home screen and there should be ymbols with 2 little houses. Touch there and you get a chance to switch to your Home, and also make it your default. "Quick switch" just switches, "Home Manager" let's you set your defailt.

Well, I don't have a clue what's going on! I must not understand you right.
If your device isn't rooted I don't get how the home page can be lost, and your talk about "bookmarking" it makes me extra confused. I associate "bookmark" with web page, and don't know how you could have bookmarked the home launch page
Sorry I couldn't help!
thank you

All I know is it had the same home page forever then somehow last night I was searching some recipes and must have hit something and suddently when I hit the web button on my home page it immediately opened to the food network! Have no idea what I did. I did not go to my settings page and change the home page but when I went there to check it now lists the food channel as my home page with no options to change. Since I have no bookmark to the original home page and cannot for the life of me remember the long page addy I have no idea how to get it back to where it was originally! thanks so much for trying to help! Maybe someone else will have an idea!
Could it be this one?

Phew! Glad you got it the way you want it!
I have had my xtz for 3 days and love it, just trying to get to the bottom of a minor issue.
With chrome open if I press the recent apps button chrome will minimise and appear, however if I press the home button then click the recent apps button chrome is not visible, I have to re open the app to get back to it.
Just wondering if there is a simple fix for this? I'm using 4.2.2 .136
I'm guessing the simple solution may be to switch browsers? On my Xperia t I actually use the stock browser and love it, but this first seen available for the tablet z?
Thanks
Hi all,
Just set up my Australian version of the mate 20 Pro and it's going fairly smoothly however I noticed that I don't have "Google feeds" option in my home screen settings (see screen shot). Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance
Maybe it depends on your provider or country
As far as I know, EMUI comes with a feed called "HiBoard" and the default launcher only seems to support that. You can use NovaLauncher to get the google feed working though (in theory).
On mine theres an option in Home screen settings to enable Google feed by swiping right on the homescreen, I've mine disabled but it was on by default.
I get to it using settings, home screen & wallpaper, home screen settings, its then at the bottom for me.
I'm not using any 3rd party launchers, stock.
DOH! just managed to see your screenshot and mine is where HiBoard is on yours.

It's just as easy to click on the little G in the Google now search bar widget that some people including myself keep on homescreen.
