New phone dropped from 4100mAh to 4000mAh battery - Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Questions & Answers

Hi,
Phone is used for 3 days then I noticed the decrease. This worries me because I am afraid I have to spend money again to buy a new battery. Is this just FUD?

Dude are u serious?

Relax, it's a bug. CPUZ will still report 4100mAh, and real capacity is indeed 4100mAh.
Google 'Xiaomi BN43' to confirm.
Typical capacity: 4100mAh
Minimum: 4000mAh

[Q] [Advice?] Best high capacity battery for x10MiniPro? (BST-38)

Looking to buy a high capacity battery for my x10 mini pro.
Maybe 1500-2500 mah?
I know there are alot of duds out there...
I'm looking at these right now:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GOLD-BST-38-B...otn=15&po=LCA&ps=63&clkid=7085760772320994471
http://www.dinodirect.com/sony-ericsson-s500-business-battery-1500mah-deji.html?cur=EUR
Any links/advice would be great!
All i'm going to say is, Non sony-ericsson battery may cause damage to your device, use it carefully and give us a feedback if it works, or don't.
I bough one for my old Nokia 8310 and it worked perfectly.
I bought the DEJI BST-38 from dinodirect, it comes in a very posh box but it doesnt last any longer than the stock battery.
Ok, well I bought two batteries online and I'm waiting for them to arrive in the coming days...
I don't have the details of each at hand but I hope to test them for you when I get them.

I'd be interested in your results. I just got my x10 mini pro and have already noticed that the battery doesn't last long. Same as my old Nokia n95 and before that a SE p800... eventually both these phones got decent higher power batteries available... I'll wait till I get a few reports. Maybe someone could build a thicker back case and a bigger battery?
What we must know is : is it a lithium-ion or lithium-polymer battery
Because, Li-Ion last longer, but they get warm quickly
Li-Polymer are quite the same, but they stay cold.
Oh... The battery performance are quite the same between those two
the best phone ever. 6 days stand by time. i charge it once a week with gold bst-38 battery of 1920mah which i bought from ebay. also i upgraded it to froyo 2.2 from xda developers and now this beauty is flying.

Hmmm last time I checked there was nothing on ebay for mini/pro battery!
Can u give all the statistics of the battery?
how could a battery of the same size provide almost three times the capacity of the stock one? maybe it's because it uses the new Li-bull**** technology

Sure, here it is:
Made in Japan
2 year warranty
Utra-high capacity battery
Maximises time between charges
Delivers superior performance
Robust & durable battery
Direct battery replacement
Stable and safe to use
No memory effect
Uses Li-poly technology
Capacity: 2430mAh
Its not your li-ion battery crap that overheats and causes the mini to reboot, its li-poly.
With reports of 1930mh lasting for 6 days with one charge, im guessing 2430mah could last 8 - 10 days =)

Sounds good! Please test it and let us now about the feedback as I really want a more powerful and long-lasting battery too =D
Hey please include a screenshot, not all of us have the same phone usage as you

does it work for mini or just for mini pro?
I just googled a little about gold batteries from Japan. samsunggalaxysforums.com/archive/index.php/t-3856.html?
found a thread where samsung galaxy user tried gold battery and it lasted much more than stock. If i remember in a heavy usage user managed to get abou 3 hours with stock and more than 5 hours with gold battery. It seems that original batteries cost about 20 usd for piece.
I will try to buy one and test it because the one of my mini pro doesn't last more thant 4 hours with heavy use (3g umts 24/7 online, push for twitter, gmail, listening to music in streaming. or watching videos from the sd. and the battery in my phone is of 970 mAh Li-ion and it overheat fast .w.

Wow 4 hours thats bad!
Then again mine is probably that bad too...the heaviest I use it is having 3G/wifi on and chatting on facebook or whatsapp, perhaps whilst listening to music.
And yes, the battery drops at something like 1% every 3 minutes or so...its ridiculous!
Which is why I hardly ever use it heavily whilst im away from home - I'm scared it'll go flat while I'm out!
I'm seriously considering getting an Iphone as my next phone now, because android phones in general do not last a normal day under heavy use...whilst my friends with their Iphone 4s constantly have 3G on, with their large screen on nearly full brightness, constantly checking facebook and chatting over the internet...yet their batteries last the day quite easily....
if you will buy from ebay than look there cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200532787453&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT#ht_3017wt_1251&clk_rvr_id=248408890642
Guy from samsung forum has battery from digi.tech seller and looks like that battery really works much better than OEM.
Just bought the 2430 mHa battery on eBay,. I hope to get it within a week.
I'll give you a feedback report as soon as I get the new battery. Bye

Did you got your battery already?
Hi guys! My Gold 2430 mHa battery arrived about a week ago. I needed some tests before I could give my opinion.
I expected more than a 100% improvement from this battery compared to the 950 mHa standard battery, the facts say that I can get only from 30 to 60% improvement. At the evening, whereas I had 10-20% of charge, now I still have 30-40%.
I think it's possible that the phone stop charging too soon, when it get to a given level of charge, so I ordered an external charger (I hope it will arrive soon) to make more tests.
I am not sure, but it seems that the new battery full charges faster than the old one.
A notice: the battery is a bit longer than the stock one. I had to slice a little of plastic with a knife (less than a millimetre) to let it fit into the phone.

3500 mAh battery questions

Hi
i have the 3500 mAh battery, and have some questions about it:
1. why in the capacity it shows only 1650 mAh and not 3500?
2. i feel the battery ends the same as a default 1650 mAh battery.. how possible?
3. sometimes i feel my phone is hot! i saw one time it was 42* C! is it dangerous?.. and why its getting hot?
dont know how much this application is accurate, hope yes : )
thanks!
Does your galaxy s2 also get frozen after the battery supposedly discharges? If you keep it until the OS thinks its at zero it will freeze with the screen staying on and sometimes eve nsound playing until the battery really duschrges?
Because a lot of (cheap) non-genuine batteries end up a long way under the rated capacity printed on the outside. You get what you pay for - stick with genuine batteries, you'll get what's printed on the outside.

Use an original Samsung 2000mAh battery, it actually last longer.
Those mAh said by others are fake, and those batteries could even damage your phone by being more and more big with hot and so on. Don't use them, it's just a waste of money

Ok guys, I have it now for more than 2 weeks. Up to now, I'm pretty happy. With regular usage, it can stand for full 2 days.
With intensive use, I consumed the battery within 10 hours with more than 6 hours screen time.
Today, I didn't use the phone much. I removed it from charger at 8:00 am and it's at 94% as of 17:00 pm. Of course this has to do with the rom I use as well. Thickening the phone, yes, but you can forget to constantly looking for a charger during the day.
I don't expect the same performance for more than a year maybe but I have 2 for half the price of 2000mAh original battery.

Hmmm...... I was thinking about buying one of those, what do you recommend ?
Go with the official 2000mAh with extended back cover (the only way it comes) or go for a 'branded' alternative like Anker. Steer clear of anything that 'says' it's Samsung on eBay, and avoid at all costs any replacement that is covered by a gold sticker.......

Of course it's a risk to use uncertified accessories but my phone is now 3 years old. I did not want to spend much money to it as I'll replace it in a couple of years anyway. So, I don't bother whether this battery harms my phone - which is not very likely actually.
If you think the same way, then I'd suggest it.

High Capacity 3800MaH

Just picked up a new replacement battery for the G3, will test and see how much longer this supposedly "3800" rating is...=)

good luck budy...i hope your phone dont die or that battery dont explode...is a well known battery and some people have a lot of problems with that...
i dont recomend that kind of battery...is way better spend more 5/10 bucks for original one and have two battery's.
anyway, good luck!!
Really interested in seeing the results as well. I have been looking for a slim battery that will last me through the whole day easily.
Yes, I'm also very curious!
When I was looking for spare batteries I've seen this one but I did not trust is because of the big capacity increase...
Let us now how it works out!
My SOT is so bad. I just installed a mod to increase the battery life. Let's hope that works.
Found review for the one OP posted. Does not look that good. There is another one here with so-so review.
AnTuTu Battery Results....
After my second full charge, i ran the AnTuTu Battery Tester, and lets just say it didnt like this battery at all. I will continue to use it for the rest of the week, and see how it performs on a more with my normal day-to-day usage. I will also post another benchmark on the original battery after a full year of usage, and see how it compares to the new one.
LG Battery History....
...this is the screen shot from the Battery Widget, on the Battery History, when the AnTuTu Battery Benchmark was running, so it looks like only getting around 2+ hours....
Don't believe what the knock off batteries say. There's no way they can fit more battery into the same size as the original without dumping millions into R&D to create a new type of battery.
....after a week of usage, buyer beware...lol, you get what you pay for I guess. really just a sub-par battery, and I will now be using as power bank replacement...and continue using the ORIGINAL battery which came with the device...lol, $9 for a power bank ok i guess... Just Buy the Real Stuff people.

Yeeeeeep, the cheapo batteries off ebay always overstate the mah of the battery, and after a few months begin to degrade very rapidly, and your battery life will be worse.

Hi, thats not correct. First, the companys dont invest millions in this batterys. We have the same technic in the g4 as it was in the g2.
Second, sure its possible to get more mah in a pack with the same size.
To get more with the same size, the distance between the celles get smaller.
So they bring in more cells in the same size.
But the problem is that 500mah is nothing.
With standard 3000mah we take a number of 3 hours SOT.
If we count simple, we get from 500mah the power for only 30min.
To get the full power of a battery its recommend to make around 5 to 8 full loading phases. In this time the battery is the same or a little less than the original.
Is the loading phase complete, we get like count around 30min more.
If the screen is brighter or you write a sms more then normal the min go down.
So, i would say thats normaly its not measurable but its really more power inside.
I buy alwasy cheap batterys and had never problems. All manufacterer of batterys buy the cells from 3 or 4 big companies. Inside is all the same.
watch out guys!!!!
i have used cheape batteries from ebay amazon ect.......
after 2 batteries my motherboard died !!!! and even befor that my device have said many times battery invailed and wont power on because the contact (piece tgat contact the battery and suply the power) wasn't recaching into the cheap battery

Note 8 battery fg_asoc and fg_fullcapnom debunked!

Fellow Note 8 users, I recently got to replace my 1.5 yr old battery with a new bigger capacity one. 3500mah from Polarcell... Once I get a few charge cycles going with this one I'll post results!
I had 255 charge cycles on the old one and fg_asoc was 92, fullcapnom 2890.
Evidently as I'm a very curious person, I had to test the capacity of the old battery with a high tech hobby charger/discharger from Junsi, the 4010 DUO. As it stands out, fully charging the battery to 4.4V and then doing a deep discharge to 3V netted me 3273mAh. Be aware that this is a way deeper charge/discharge cycle than the phone would ever do. In order to prolong lifespan, Samsung is not using the full capacity of the battery.
Whether there's an algorithm tied to battery aging and fg_asoc, or the battery is actually a bit higher capacity than spec, it remains to be seen. I'll conduct more tests, and keep everybody posted.
Ask away any question the you may have and don't be bummed out it your Galaxy battery is reporting lower capacity from the start. It may not be the case.
Cheers,
Andrei.

I've notice DJI doing the same thing with my Phantom 3 drone batteries whenever I use a hobby-grade charger connected directly to the terminals of the battery itself. I say this is a good design by Samsung if it is as you are suggesting.
Good thinking, I have a ph3 battery lying around wi5h no more than 50 cycles on it. I could measure that too!
You need to remember that your Phantom 3 batteries have a nominal 4.35V per cell as opposed to the usual 4.2, so you would need to factor this in to your hobby grade charger. I have a Hyperion EOS.... model. I've used this to "revive" several phone and laptop cells in the past (once the cell isn't internally damaged).
I don't think one needs to be concerned about fg_asoc or fg_fullcapnom once there isn't too much deep discharging of the cells.
Yes, I'm aware of that. Sometimes I undercharge my ph3 batteries by 0.05v to make them last longer. The 4010 duo is one hell of a charger and I love it!
Back to the note 8 battery, I'm getting spectacular battery life with the new bigger cell and the One UI update. Currently at 60% remaining with 24h of use and 3h of SOT. Stellar!
Cheers!
Just a question, did they reseal the back cover for waterproofing after?
There's no they, I did it myself. Bought some original Tesa double sided tape from ifixit.com and it worked great.

Question Mix 4 battery upgrade possibile?

Hello everyone i have made some research last day and start to thinking of upgrade the battery from 4500 mAh to 5000 mAh, they look quite similar on pictures , i don't find yet any detail in size. If it will be possible then I will lost wireless charging and reverse charging but will get approx.11% battery capacity+. I thinking that this battery in mix 4 is very law quality barely get 4 hours with dual sim, 60 hz and so on. Buy phone to just turn off ll it's features just to get battery life stable is not good. I am on xiaomi.eu 14...
Lost 40% in big sunny day just in 15 minutes and falling from less then 20 to 1 with the blink of an eye.
So is anyone have idea where can foumd more details about the size of battery let me know or maybe someone think bout it before.
I have other Xiaomi 12 T Pro, Poco f 2 pro, and other with global and non of the have similar issue with drain of battery like mix 4.
Actually the pics shows 11 T Pro with the 4860 mAh with wireless charging , but the option is also 12 T Pro with 5000 mAh without
Quick updated i find info that this phone was planned to be lunched with BM58 5000mAh ,120 W, no wireless. Instead was lunched with 4500 mAh wireless.
Do BM58 should be good to go ,questions is how this 500mAh extra will worki???
Hello, I already did the test of putting the 5000mah one. The phone simply does not turn on, I don't know if it is because it is not compatible or because it does not have a charge. If you put it to charge, the battery icon appears but no current passes since I measured it with a USB meter
You mean the BM 58?

Ok thanks for info,
How's your current battery capacity? I've been using my Mix 4 since September 2021 and if Accubattery and the debug log are to be believed, my battery deterioration has been brutal.
Accubattery: Estimated 2395 mAh
Debug log:
Statistics since last charge:
System starts: 0, currently on battery: true
Estimated battery capacity: 1962 mAh
Last learned battery capacity: 1978 mAh

I not use the app anymore so don't know real capacity.
those types of applications have problems with dual cell batteries, they are only half as big. For example, the ampere app detects double the voltage and that is impossible because otherwise the motherboard would burn
