I have domestically unlocked my HTC One M9 and am having trouble finding ROMs for the sprint variant. I tried flashing Lineage OS for the GSM variant of the m9 and I got an error in recovery saying my device wasn't compatible. Of I change the ROM file so I can install it will it work? Thanks!
Nvm found a way https://forum.xda-developers.com/sp...ageos-14-1-htc-one-m9-sprint-variant-t3688469

no the hardware is different in a cdma phone
no you'll have to have AT&T unlock the phone to use on a different carrier
or buy an unlock code off ebay
Hi, I'm a non-American HTC n00b, and I was wondering if it's possible to flash CM12 for the original M8 on the AT&T M8?
Thanks, Aaron
All the GSM versions of the M8 are the same in hardware (with the exception of the dual SIM M8).
Yes, you CM12 will work. But I believe you need the proper updated hboot (check the CM12 thread for more info on this). Latest AT&T RUU will update you to 3.19 hboot.
Hello, I have HTC ONE M8 AT&T but my carrier isn't AT&T ,so previously i was on 4.4.2 than 4.4.4 released and i downloaded RUU from HTC official site and updated my phone without phone , just now i contacted HTC suppor to ask when Lollipop update will be released for AT&T , so he said i can install Lollipop update for unlocked versions which is released and i won't have any problem ? Please anybody help me will it really work ? Phone is RELOCKED
I think this should go to the Q&A thread
..
If your phone's CID is for at&t and you're s-on there's nothing you can do. Your options would be to pay for sunchine s-off and flash de lp firmware and one of the LP roms around. Once you're s-off you can either change CID to some other carriers with LP or unlocked and get that update. Or you can do what I did to get LP. Once you're on 4.4.4 get a custom recovery and flash viper Rom. It's LP and works perfectly.

Moved here as this does not belong in the Development Section, read the Forum Rules on posting....
I highly doubt it was told to you that you could install the developer ruu on an ATT device, wont work as cid is not same. Best option is if soff change cid to BS_US001 and then you can flash the developer build and not have to wait on ATT builds.

I just bought a brand new HTC One M9. Unfortunately, it's an AT&T model, and I can't update the firmware because I live in the UK. It is running stock AT&T android 5.1, current firmware version is 2.11.502.18. I have S-OFF. I downloaded this RUU: RUU_HIMA_UHL_L50_SENSE70_HTC_Europe_1.32.401.17_Radio_01.01_U11440261_56.02.50306G_2_F_release_429340_signed_2_4.exe from this site: http://www.androidruu.com/?developer=M9
My worry is that, if I flash the RUU, I will be downgrading. Will this be a problem? Is there a more later version of a WWE RUU available elsewhere? Also, I want to remain being S-OFF, so will flashing an RUU return the device to S-ON, or is that only manually possible?

You first log on to ADB powershell, connect the phone in USB DEBUG mode, ensure HTC SYNC is installed and HTC driver is present. After this you change the CID and MID to the EU HTC variant, and then you may proceed to flash this ROM and hopefully find that BAND 40, and the rest of the EU LTE bands work. Let me know if this works. Even I have a spare HTC m9 that I'd like to carry during travel time. So far from T-mobile, to At&t and Rogers works like a charm for me.
