hey all
so I have been trying for the past week to root my alcatel A2 XL dual sim but cant seem to be able to do it.
upon checking the model number 8050D there are threads referencing this model number but they come up as a pixi 4 and this is the dual sim A2 XL
basically I wanted to root and if possible flash a custom rom to upgrade it to marshmallow for various reasons ( I have a smart home so I need google assistant and microphone on on lock screen. as well as general marshmallow features like expandable memory which is only for 6.0 and up)
I cant seem to be able to root this damn phone though and cant find guides for my version of handset
I was hoping maybe someone here could point me in the right direction or maybe has one of these rooted and running marshmallow
Any help would be greatly appreciated
thanks all
2 heads are better than one
I've also just got this phone and have bee struggling to get root access.
What i know so far is that this phone while most googling suggests a Pixie4(6) this is not the workings of this phone
It has a MediaTek MT6580 CPU
I'm still looking for a valid MTP driver for the phone in USB debug mode

First off, here are the details for my phone:
Alcatel Onetouch Fierce from Tmobile
It is in fact rooted
Running Android 4.2.2
Basically, i have been looking to either flash a ROM onto my phone (Have not found any ROM yet, let alone a good one) or make my own. The problem with that is the system files. I've been going through this tut here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1801690 and the terminal code gives me the error "sh: tar-c: not found" Also, file explorers have not worked, even ones with SU access.
My question is does anyone know a way around this? If not, I want to either port a ROM to this phone or find one. The only problem with that is finding a base ROM. If anyone could help with this issue it would be fantastic as I know quite a few people with this phone looking for a ROM. Thanks in advance as all help is much obliged.
I couldnt find a tutorial for either phone anywhere on the net, but I read about something called Graphical Auto Root, I havent found (or searched wholeheartedly for) the download link, primarily because I was wary about whether it would work on the P2 or A9*, and whether the system language would change to Chinese if it did.
So, I would like to know if anyone having either of these phones successfully rooted their phone via this method, or can someone tell me whether this process will work on either Phablet P2 or Karbonn A9 star??
Thanks.
Hi iv had this phone for a few months now and i am having a horrible time finding any information about it, its like its in limbo
has any one attempted to root it i have found no information about rooting it or any one even trying to root it
is it possible that not many of these devices were made and im one of the few people that have one?
heres the link to the developers website http://www.alcatelonetouch.com/usa/products/smartphones/pop_mega_lte.html
are there any possible root methods that i could try and provide feedback im willing to help any way i can to find a root method or even just help people know more about this amazing device
I have one and I need the same info and I also need someone to do a walkthrough as to how to DIY a screen replacement.

Hi guys, I got this ZOJI Z8 recently, nice phone btw, it runs with mediatek mtk 6750, I successfully unlocked bootloader on it, but now I really need root to get rid of the stock ROM.. I've tried mtk Droid but it doesn't recognize the phone (I think it is a little too new for mtk Droid), so if anyone has another way for trying to root this thing I'd be really thankful. Thanks in advance, have nice day.
Considerations:
- I've tried every one click root tools via APK or PC, never had any faith on them but I was ready on trying anything.
- I'm Brazilian, so that's why my English may sound a little odd.
- my name is Thales, Just in case.
M10 plus
Hey! I need help. I bought a phone that looks like Huawei mate 10 pro but the phone brand is M10 plus. I mistakenly flashed a wrong boot image and afterwards I tried to flash a rom on it and the phone will not just power on. The original android on the phone is MTK6572 android 4.1. Please what can I do and how do I fix this? Thank you
Hello all,
I have bought an Oppo A5 phone few months ago. Since then I am searching for rooting this device. But unfortunately I couldn’t find anything about it's rooting method.
I, being a rooted user previously, desperately need to root this phone of mine too. All I find about Rooting Method for Oppo A57. I searched and saw Oppo A5 and Oppo A57, both are different device.
Can anybody help out by teaching me the method to Root my OPPO A5 device?
Thanks in advance.

There is a way to root the device, however it doesn't seem to be very beneficial as the process also breaks some stuff like mobile SIM signal loss or corrupted NvRecovery. The only thing we should do now is to wait for someone to port a new custom ROM like Lineage or things like that to this phone and to replace the OS entirely.
But in case you're still curious about it, I found this rooting tutorial posted back in 2017. Note that it might be outdated so proceed with your own risk
Man I hate ColorOS so bad, can't wait to see someone to come up with a new custom ROM for this thing
