Guys .. I have an LG Optimus T P509
I did install the stable version of CyanogenMod 7 from the topic
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=946354
However, I bought the unlock pin number but whenever I put a different sim card other than Tmobile for example ATT, the phone wouldn't ask for unlock code and ends with no signal at all. Even when I search for networks can't find anything.
I was thinking may be I need to flash it back to the original stock rom. And if so where can I find it?
Any help
Thanks
I haven't unlocked my phone yet, but it sounds like you need to apply the sim unlock pin. The phone is not going to automatically prompt you to do so, you have to do it manually. just open up the phone app and dial
2945#*500#
replacing 500 with whatever the model number of your phone is. For me, it's 509. Also, I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure you need to flash back to the stock firmware in order to do this.
Yeah you're right ... I was able to do the unlock once I flashed the stock firmware, I got my unlock code from eBay, pretty cheap cost me only $5 and then after unlocking it, I flashed the CM7 and it's working absolutely with no probs.
Thanks for passing by
So how do those unlock codes work? Is there one that works for all phones, or are they unique from phone to phone?
I believe unlock codes are unique to each phone's serial number. Some phones, like my HTC Desire Z (a.k.a. T-mobile G2) can be unlocked by other means, a software script or the like. I don't know if this can be done for the Optimus T.

I have the same issue, how did you flash back to stock firmware? Where did you get it from and what are the steps..
stock firmware
this goes without saying but you *really* should have made a backup of your stock ROM before flashing anything. That is where i got mine. However, if you need the stock firmware, you should be able to revert to stock using KDZ. I have not had great success with KDZ though (bricked two phones, successfully restored the WRONG firmware to the third phone, but was able to flash the original backup I made over the V10E firmware)
Just a thought, but I probably need to sim unlock my phone again since I had to flash KDZ
I have root, the first time it froze and didn't sent a test correctly. So I tried it again using Super one. Now I have superuser. Tried both apps on the market and neither one seem to have worked thus yet.
When I try Herolz Galaxy s unlock It is unable to copy EFS, All it says is Done, Error, Not saved. And yes there is an SD card present.
The GS2 unlocker also available on the market will fart around for over 5 minutes and say unlock code not found.
What gives am I doing something wrong? I have tried it with the sim in and with it out. Using Family mobile from Walmart, so I am guessing Tmobile sim card.
Please give me some other root around this.

I didn't know ti wasn't stock. LOL . I just bought it used from a shop here yesterday as am upgrade from gs1. Could you possibly direct me in the right direction as I am unsure what part you are talking about mot being stock.
Than ks in advance
you know you'll only get Edge on Tmo bands.
KH7 is stock, but you stated you have root. Did you do it? if not then check the android Development forums on how to get back to stock. and start the root proccess again.
I got the root through superoneclick. It seemed it did ok as the secong time I went through it said it was already rooted. as for the crappy internet it won't really matter here as we don't even have 3g here in this town for t-mobile anyhow.
if I un-root and re flash back to stock just using the button press combo work? Any why does it only get edge on tmobile?

Unroot and back to stock would require Odin/Heimdall.
Only gets Edge on Tmo because its an at&t phone. different bands for 3g.
I have used Super One Click in the past, but its just easier to flash a rooted kernal in Odin/Heimdall, then flash a custom ROM via CWM.
Back to stock is mainly because SuperOneClick is an old tool. and then starting fresh with the latest.
But I had no need to unlock my phone, but from what I've heard its very simple, and most dont have any issues. using the app from the market
I am not afraid of ODIN. I have done that in the past but I did have a huge problem with the GS1 installing an older kernel. I just about bricked the phone. I had to use the HEimdall or what ever it was to get back in it.
On these phone with a custom kernal and rom will it automatically unlock the phone? I am just afraid of using the wrong one and in this particualr section I am sure as to where to go. It doesn't give a whole lot of detail and with the cryogen mod thing it is getting places where I am not sure if I want to really try that. I would but the information is spaced out so much I am afraid of missing something and buggering everything up. What should I have to worry about when doing this?
Also it is the software unlocking I am having problems with.

Custom kernal will not unlock the phone to be used on a network other than at&t.
Software unlock? assuming you mean using s/w to unlock the device, yes thats the way i understood this thread. I cant really tell ya much about that, but i have heard that its easy and works fine, which is why you should go back to stock first, to get rid of anything messy leftover from using an old rooting method.

You're probably fine as is. Look in Settings | About Phone. If you are stock UCKH7 it should read something like -
Android version 3.2.4
Baseband version UCKH7
Kernel version 2.6.35.7
And why does it only get edge on tmobile?

AT&T hardware handles different frequencies than T-Mobile hardware. It's a limitation of the phone's capability to receive the signal.
Try this thread for unlocking the phone.

Trouble Unlocking After Odin Root of
I rooted my phone using Odin and the Siyah-v3.4.2-nomswap-I777.tar file in the PDA. The phone passed, and it reloads with the triangle on the start up as expected. However, it then says "enter network lock control key". It has nothing to do with the sim, as the sim works in another phone. I have done the process several times, running odin back to the original factory settings with I777UCLE5_I777ATTLE5_I777UCLE5_HOME.tar.md5
Could someone please tell me how to get the phone unlocked?
I have done this process before with another i777 phone, and it worked fine.

I have tried re-installing both software and then reboot. still no luck.:crying:
So I accidently have locked myself out of my phone by changing my number to another network and thinking I could still use my current SIM in my phone until I got it unlocked.
I haven't been able to send or receive texts or anything for around 3 days now.
The place online I was getting it unlocked at said there was a delay with Samsung so they refunded me.
I tried the unlock apps but they don't work.
In GalaxSim, it says my phone is unlocked by when I try another SIM it doesn't work.
In the FAQ it says this could be a second SIM lock by the service provider, and to fix it I have to flash a full unbranded Samsung ROM.
I was wondering how I do this?
I'm on Cyanogen 10 and I currently have Jellybean on my device but I'm not too sure on what I have to do to flash to this ROM and if it will erase my data?
Thanks for any help!

CM10/jellybean is not a "stock" rom. CM10 is a "AOSP" based rom.
Stock rom refers to your devices/carriers default rom, ie Samsung based rom. Get your needed rom from sammobile.com
Flashing Guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
If you want to unlock your device use the search there is plenty of topics if you use keywords like "sim unlock" etc.
Oh so I have to reset my phone pretty much? Can I go back to Cyanogen 10 after I get the stock ROM?

I didnt say you have to do anything however you may have compatibility issues unlocking sim so would probably best to go back to stock.
Yes, you can go back and forth to any rom you want.
Flash stock rom via odin (download mode)
Flash Siyah kernel (again in download mode)
Reboot into recovery and wipe data/factory reset.
Boot Android and use sim unlock etc.
Reboot into recovery and flash whatever rom you like.
Thanks for that, I went onto that site you mentioned, sammobile.com and I chose to do their unlock method with SRS, it was only 15 euro so I'll see if it fixes it!
Thanks

Are you crazy?
There is plenty of ways to do it yourself for FREE if you would just stop been lazy and use search button.
Obviously I'm wasting my time, waste your money.
1) Get Mobile Odin Pro for 3 euro and download this Unbranded Stock ROM:
http://www.sammobile.com/2012/11/15/i9100xxlsj-%E2%80%93-galaxy-s-ii-android-4-1-2-jelly-bean-test-firmware/
2) Read Mobile Odin thread by chainfire:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1347899
3) Flash the downloaded ROM following the guide above.
4) Check if your network still locked, If it is check this thread out:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2070375
5) Tell us how you did.
When I try run Mobile Odin it gives me an error about not being able to detect the device. It's not asking for super user privileges either?

It was rooted but then I did a root checker and it said it wasn't, must of lost it after changing to CM 10 I think.
I downloaded some auto rooter and that rooted the phone for me. Then I followed your instructions and now I'm freshly formatted but still not working. Tried all the unlocker tools again and still doesn't work. GalaxUnlock says I'm already unlocked so it must be a second network lock.
But in his instructions he says that flashing to a stock Samsung ROM fixes it, but I thought that's what I just done.
sure you don't have an IMEI issue? You did back EFS folder before you flashed for the first time right?
check you IMEI by dialing *#06# and see if it matches the imei number sticked below the battery.

IMEI matches the one that I had before I started trying all this and matches the one behind the battery.
In the Galaxy Unlocker app I backed up the EFS files when it asked me tther than that I haven't touched them really. Any recommendations? I've tryed pretty much everything I have seen.
I'm searching for the network info key-in code, for you to see what's locked and what's not. Can't seem to find it tho.
Do you have another carrier sim card to put in & see if it asks for an unlocking code?

I currently have my Meteor sim card in the phone, that's the company I was with for years.
The phone lets me browse and use apps and stuff when this sim card is in it.
I have another sim card for 48 who I am changing to, which asks for the unlock code.
Before with GalaxSim Unlock, it said I was already unlocked. I downloaded an old version now everything says undefined, and said it can't read the nv data, however I am nearly positive I have backups of this as I saw them on the card.
Galaxy S2 SIM Unlock just gives me an unlock code of 00000000 which doesn't work and Galaxy S Unlock doesn't work either, altough it says it does

I have Busybox installed, but I have two versions, BusyBox free and BusyBox installer, don't know if it matters that I have the two of them.
I have went to a much lower version of it but GalaxSim Unlock still says it can't read nv data.
I tried that program also and it says my Video card isn't supported :S
And hit the restore button in Galaxy S 2 Unlock and GS2_Repair so I presume it got restored. Where should the efs folder be located so I can double check?

GalaxSim Unlock should have a restore button, dunno the location of the back up, but the EFS folder should be in the data folder, u'll need a root explorer to get to it.
Hi all
I have a galaxy s2 i777 ATT - I can't find its own place on this forum so please forgive me if this in the wrong section
My S2 was unrooted and then I loaded omni kitkatt on it which locked my sim . big noob mistake I feel really dumb believe me.
Now I had unrooted it in the with odin and loaded Siyah ics to finally root it because the sim got locked. I live outside of the USA and nowhere near an ATT network. It has the CWM recovery on it
So all was well until someone ( my nephew ) decided to load omni again and then he loaded Carbon on it
The strange thing that is happening right now is that I do see Superuser in the settings but my sim is still locked I tried to use galaxys2 unlock but it doesnt do anything.
No biggie right but now it turns out my USB port is not working.
So here are my questions :
- How do i get my phone back to stock without a pc and root it (I live outside of the usa thats why I believe my sim gets locked ) so we can use the phone again to call
or
- Can I use mobile odin to load the stock version of android back on it and then unroot it again so I can unlock my phone ?
- Can I try to use frama root to check if my phone is really rooted and if so can it help root my phone ?
For now I'd just like to get it back to stock and root it ( so I can unlock my sim)
I need your help .
Thanks
Maddie
The good news is that you're in the right place, so welcome!
Next, I'm guessing you're still on Carbon? If so please look in System Settings >About Phone and please tell us the rom, kernel and modem version currently installed on your device. It's always good for us to know your full setup.
Regarding the sim issue I have virtually no experience with it, but I do know you can simply call AT&T and they should supply the unlock code (if you have a working phone, of course). You may have to supply your serial and IMEI #, both of which can be found on the battery, so probably best to have that handy if you call them.
You don't have to be on bone stock to unlock your phone, you just need the unlock code... and hang onto it for as long as you own your i777!
Have you tried the GalaxSim Unlock application? Here is a link to download the free version. You may find that you can unlock your rooted phone without flashing back to stock. I have limited experience with this application. I recently sold an AT&T SGH-I897 Captivate which I unlocked successfully with this app while it was rooted on stock Gingerbread. The purchaser wanted KitKat so I loaded CyanogenMod 11 onto it, and checked that the unlock was still present.
To answer your other questions:
I'm not sure why you are asking to "unroot" the phone after returning to stock. As far as I know, you need to be rooted to unlock the phone unless you have the unlock code from AT&T.
You can flash stock firmware with mobile odin. The stock package does not contain root, so your phone will automatically be "unrooted." If you go this route, I would suggest you use the I777UCMD8 stock tar from the Download Repository.
From stock UCMD8, you can successfully root the phone with Framaroot using the Aragorn exploit.

Hi thanks for helping out this is what I got:
CARBON-JB-NIGHTLY-20130929-0603-i777.zip
Kernel version
[email protected]#1sunsep2906:36:49 edt 2013
ROM: CWM based recovery v6.0.3.8
I cant find modem version
I'm in south America and I had bought the phone from the usa unlocked.
When Omni was loaded on the phone it locked my sim and I never had received an unlock code.
So when I went back to stock my sim still stayed locked so I rooted it again with Siyah ICS via odin so I could use galaxy unlock to get my sim working again.
How would I go about getting that unlock code for my sim from Att ?
Do you think I could email att ? I did find my serial number and imei #
The reason I wanted to go back to stock and than unroot it with the siyah ics kernel is because that seems to be stable for my phone.
Yes I have tried using galaxy unlock but it doesn't work it doesn't read the Imei nr and the sim stays locked
Honestly it looks like my phone is half rooted now
BTW the the sim being locked is more like a carrier locked I can't use the sim with my local telecommunnications company.
Thanks again.
Sorry for the noob talk, but here goes....
I have a SM-G900T, rooted it and installed SM-G900T1 5.1.x stock MetroPCS rom mistakenly thinking all MetroPCS phones were sim/carrier unlocked since you basically buy them outright. I thought this because after I rooted and flashed the MetroPCS stock rom and dropped in the original T-Mo sim, it did not prompt for an unlock code (I understand why now from reading other forum posts that this is because of the MVNO relationship between the two, etc.). So anyway...
I OTA'd to MetroPCS's 6.0.1 and lost root. No problem. Easily rooted again using the procedure @thisisapoorusernamechoice kindly posted (big thanks to them!). Now, all is good [except that nasty little "Set Warranty Bit : kernel" b.s. on the Sammy splash screen, and in download mode "Knox Warranty Void: 0x1 (2)"].
I'd like to give this phone to my friend living overseas. So whats my easiest and cheapest path to sim unlocking this phone? Clearly T-Mo and MetroPCS aren't going to give me the time of day. I tried the suggestions of @stkt2ya but had no success. Rooted, busybox, Region Lockaway, Galaxy_S_Unlock, all granted SU permission, etc. but no luck. Is there a nearly stock ROM I can flash that has the sim lock removed, or can someone point me in the direction of disabling it myself since I have root? I have some developer experience and could probably do it with relative ease if I knew where to look. I understand the sim unlock is probably in the radio, but I am not entirely clear on this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Also, can I get rid of the "Set Warranty Bit : kernel" crap on the boot splash?
Thanks in advance for your help!
I'm assuming you turned the OEM unlock on in Dev options right? I've essentially put all the different carrier Sim cards in and have even done a factory reset with no issues so I'm not sure what's going on for you.
I'm still kind of a noob myself but just managed to do it on my own with the above mentioned software. Region Lock Away: unlock, reboot then with new SIM inserted relock. Then use that Galaxy unlock. I'm not sure but I'm thinking Busybox was important in there somehow and i was rooted, had all Knox and related stuff disabled etc. I'm not even rooted right now and don't care really as my life is pretty hectic at the moment. I'm responding here only because of the 'mention' email and the fact it seems you still need help. If this doesn't work for you i don't know what to say. Check all that stuff on the phone is as factory as can be, forget root for now and try the factory reset options, clear the del cache etc. maybe until you see 'hope' then proceed with the rest, maybe that will solve it for you. Sorry i can't be of more assistance.
Not sure about the OEM unlock in DEV options, I looked for it and didn't see an option. DEV mode is on though, I had to enable it to check off USB Debugging. The issue with the apps is that it says it fails writing to the SD. The SD is good though, confirmed. Kinda at a loss.
RegionLock Away: "An unexpected error occurred! #3"
Galaxy_S_Unlock: efs file saving (Step 1) "Error, Not Saved." (and thus can't continue to step #2)
I am doing this all with no sim in the phone. Could that be the issue?
Thanks again for the help.

Ok so having root won't get you sim unlocked no matter what you do. Also no rom you flash could possibly sim unlock your phone. Also the OEM unlock the other user mentioned has absolutely nothing to do with sim unlock.
You have 2 options to sim unlock.
1. Call metro or tmo (I'm confused on which device you actually have. Since you say you have the g900t but flashed g900t1) and if you are the original owner, and had/have service on it for 90 days they will give you the unlock code and walk you thru it.
2. If the above doesn't work for your situation, Google g900t unlock code. You'll have to pay could be 99 cents like some metro phones or could be 40 bucks like some higher end metro phones. EBay is a good place to look for cheap unlock codes
Cool, I kinda just needed to know what direction was the path of least resistance. The IMEI is not good and the phone never belonged to me, so I'll look for the sim code. Thanks for spelling it out for me, I appreciate you help!
Ya eh. It's been so long since I've done that but will be attempting it again soon with a friends phone. All i do remember from this was what i had mentioned prior and because that took me a week or 2 of part time screwing around with it, trying this, trying that etc, i wouldn't for the life of me truly know at which point i finally succeeded... I have been messing around with an LG unit that proved to be much more of a challenge, especially considering i must have bricked it 3 or so times over. I can't wait to get going on these i•••things•••
Do you need to be on a stock ROM to sim unlock?
