Hey guys,
I've created my own ROM by modifying a 5.0 stock one (deodexing, resigning and adding system apps). But the Android 5.1 OTA update keeps showing up (of course i can't update, because of the different signature).
So my question is: Is there a way to modify some config or delete something from the ROM files, for the system not to check for system updates?
Maybe the name of the ROM or something like that?

Installation requirements:
Recovery TWRP 2.8.7.0
HBOOT 1.72.0000+
HTC One X+
Download:
Resurrection Remix (For download white button "Скачать")
Open GAPPS (ARM->5.1->pico is recommended)
Installation:
Install kernel (boot.img from ROM zip archive)
In TWRP recovery: Wipe->Advanced wipe-> select: cache, dalvik cache, system, data and Swipe
Install ROM and then GAPPS
Wipe->Advanced wipe-> select Internal Storage and Swipe. This delete all your information (photos, music and etc, save it)!
Reboot and wait first ROM start!

Hi, thanks for answer. I would like to do this, but no. Android 6+ not be for Htc One X plus. Impossibly fix multimedia sound and cameras. Htc proprietary blobs not compatible with android 6. And no source code for this blobs, we can't fix it.

i flashed this rom in other one x plus and battery usage is very high plz fix or give update for kernel thanks
You know the system directory is mounting as read/write correct? It should be ro. Having it ro is more secure. Going through the source I see Yourself or Andy reversed this from when I set it.

ive just 2 problem, when i enter pin simcard it correct but another pop simcard code and infinite fail, just enter first time and waiting for other pop close...

With perfomance all is ok ROM faster, than cm12.1, with battery also, may be you need replace battery?

have you idea why icone on statutbar not totally change when apply cm12 theme? ex: battery and other never change, in playstore i can see all statutbar icone changed.

the boot.img file is from 2008! is this normal?
Carbon 5.1.1 is more old than RR but in Carbon all provider weather work (i've choice)
RR haven't choice at all no provider choice category... just have activate or not weather category

I wonder if there's any dev that can explain me and teach me how to add ota check inside a built rom?
Or is there a way to build a simple app that check the rom installed and send you a notification that there's newer version?
I don't want to use OTA Updater Center.

Hey peps, I'm using a Nexus 5 running the custom rom "Resurrection Remix Oreo v6.2.1-20181209 by*@Hannibal226", running Android 8.1 Oreo (Rooted, X-Posed and Magisk Manager, etc, etc).
I have this open gapps package installed "open_gapps-arm-8.1-pico-20181229.zip" but I see that there is a new updated version dated "14 April 2019" from here...

Should I update? I noticed that when I switched to this ROM my caller ID stopped working. All I get is a phone number when someone calls me unless they are in my contacts then it will show who is calling.
I was hoping that if the phone dialer in the updated pico package version might have been updated?
So should I update (flash with TWRP)? Is there a way to see what has been updated or changed?
Or does anyone know how to make my caller ID work?

I find that in case of some AOSP ROMs, there are weekly/ monthly updates with some fixes and sometimes the major changes are only the latest security updates. Sometimes the ROM is perfectly working without any glitches except with old Google security patch. So my question is if it's possible to make a zip file with only latest Google security patch which we can be used to update the old stable ROMs. I am hoping it should be possible, if so somebody please make a zip file. Also, if it's possible do let me know the procedure to pack such a flashable zip file.
