Android N stock email & LED notification - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I use a rooted AICP Rom on my Le pro 3 phone, It's like an original Android N. I think the stock email app is quicker than other email apps, but how to set 'show all pictures' for every email? Don't want to do show picture each time.
Another is LED notification, seems it can't turn a single LED notification(like message, email, calendar) off but leave others on?

SMS and Email INBOX background colour change?

Hello - I come from a Galaxy Nexus and love the S3, but the black backgrounds for the Exchange Email inbox and SMS inbox are not my favourites and I would prefer dark text on a light background. (I know the email messages themselves are black on white - that is good, but I would prefer the inbox to look this way as well)
I cannot find any way to change this within the standard functionality of the current firmware. Is it possible to do this without flashing a whole new ROM? (I have rooted the device but am on a standard build still)
Many thanks for any pointers.
Regards
Neil Gardner
For SMS inbox: open the messaging app, press menu button, tap "Settings", tap "Background style". Done. This is on stock. Not sure about the Email though.
Thanks for the reply - that does change the SMS history just fine - I hadn't looked at the SMS app too closely as it's mainly the email that's frustrating. Still no progress there unfortunately.
Cheers - N

[Q] Emails status update

Hi all,
There is something strange with the email notification through the email icon at the top of the screen and through the LED, compared to what was existing before with my previous HTC DHD and Ace.
With these old smartphone, the notifications (icon and LED) was updated within seconds if I had read the email on my computer. LED stopped blinking and icon disappeared while the email was marked as read in the smartphone. The synchornization via Gmail or Exchange was excellent.
But on my S3, even I read the email on my computer, the LED keeps blinking and the icon stays at the top of the screen until I delete the notification with dropdown menu.
Is it a problem with the S3 as I have never had such issue with my two previous smartphone using exactly the same email accounts, with the same profiles configuration.
I must add, that in both cases, I use the stock application provided by HTC (with Sense) and Samsung (with TouchWiz).
Thanks for your help,
Lim.
So no one has the slightest idea why HTC can do something that Samsung can not ?

If you are referring to the little number on the icon on the home screen... then there's nothing to fix. It's working as designed.
That isn't actually a stock android feature. HTC (and Samsung, LG, Motorola, etc) customizes their home screen launcher to display unread count "badges" for the apps that are built in (email, messages, etc), but couldn't possibly do so for other 3rd party apps. In the case of email, the badge clears when you go into the app regardless of the number of unread messages. (It's more of a "you have this many unread since you last opened the app.)
If you want more functionality, you could use a different launcher (such as Nova Launcher) and a plugin (telsaunread) that supports more badges. I have no idea if "Whatsapp" is supported by nova/telsaunread, but it shouldn't be too hard to figure it out.
Edit: I just checked and nova launcher with teslaunread does explicitly support whatsapp.

Hi,
I also have a problem with my Icons on the top left-hand corner of the screen on my HTC One M8...
I have just launched the new Update "Sense 6.0" and now I can't see the Icons of WhatsApp, SMS, E-mails. etc. on the top left-hand corner of the screen, when the screen of my phone is locked (when I get a new message).
Do you know how I can turn it back on ?

how to get notifications on the sleep screen

Hello
I've looked through the settings many many times, and I can't figure out how to get notifications from apps (whatsapp plus, Bluemail, Textra) to appear on the sleep screen- the black screen that shows the clock and battery percentage. The stock messaging app will post an icon to that screen when a message arrives, but no other.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I have a bla-a09 US variant running version 119.
Only stock apps (message, email, call etc) appear on the Always Display Information screen. Other apps like WhatsApp, Facebook etc won't show there. This is how Huawei's software works.

[Q] Gmail Syncing - Disable Notification?

A few times a day, a Gmail notification appears in the notification area (top of screen) and also as a button on on the icon for the Gmail app. When I expand the notification, all it is for is that Gmail is Syncing. The notification automatically disappears when finished syncing. Is there a way to disable that particular syncing notification? It makes me think that I have a new email, and only way to tell is by viewing the notification, or waiting to see if it disappears.
I think this started happening ever since I added a second account.
I am on updated, stock, un-rooted Android.
Thank you,
