Hello guys,
I have an LG Bluetooth headset which I tried to use for a run, I get the music playing from the watch but about 5 seconds after it starts searching for GPS, music stops.
When the run begins, I can't go out of the interface so as to get to music and play, I'd have to end the run.
So, it's either I run without music, with music but no GPS +run data or use my phone (which I left at home) for music while the watch does the running.
Any help with this please?
You can reach the music app in sports mode.
press button, swipe left.

Hey,
Got a bit of a weird problem. I listen to music whilst I ride into work. My phone is in my pocket in a case, screen locked. Whilst I am riding the music often shuts off and Grooveshark kicks in and starts playing.
I've had a good prod around and I can't replicate the problem manually, but it happens fairly often in my pocket.
The grooveshark app isn't on my lock screen and is not on the main home page. In order to switch to grooveshark and make it play I would have to;
Press power button
Swipe up
Put in passcode
Swipe right
Open Grooveshark
Press 'Now Playing'
Press play
Any ideas how this is happening - could it be bound to a hardware key or something?
Thanks in advance
FYI I'm using the stock non rooted firmware.
Just wondered if anyone else has had this happen, really!
When listening to music through the stock player, I'll then pause the track (as in stop the track once I've gotten to work), back out of the player (rather than pressing home), then unplug the wired headphones, close the player using the task manager to stop the player entirely. All well and good so far...
Until I then connect the phone to the internet (either by network or WiFi) at a later point during the day, usually after a few hours. At that point, maybe after a few minutes of being connected, I'll see the pause icon appear in the top left of the notification bar. Without fail. Every time! I then have to go into the player, then back out of it to close it completely. Anyone else have that strange glitch?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
I froze the stock player since samsung made it start up in the background all the time.
My advice, freez stock and use a 3. part player
Hey, everyone! This is my first post here, so be gentle.
I'm having some trouble with Google Navigation on my SGS3 from US Cellular. Now, I understand that the volume has been merged together with the media volume, and that's not really my issue.
When I enter Google Navigation, the media volume reads correctly. (I jacked it up to full volume just to test this out. It reads full volume when I start GN.) But when a turn-by-turn direction reads, the volume is really low. If I hit the volume up button during the TTS directions, it shows that the media volume is set very low. I can turn it up while the direction is speaking, and the media volume does increase. But the next time a direction begins saying something, it's quiet and the volume is reset really low again. I have to keep turning the volume up for each turn-by-turn direction!
When I exit GN, the media volume is back to full blast again, just as it was before I entered the app. So, it's obviously something GN is doing. I just don't get why it won't remember my volume setting when I turn it up.
Any ideas as to why it's doing this? Any thoughts on how to fix this issue? I did a bunch of searching and couldn't find anything that completely fits my problem description.
ETA: I tested this again, and it's only a problem if I have a media player fired up. I use n7. When it kills the volume for the media player, it does so for the navigation, too.
Unfortunately, even if I close n7, the volume is still ruined until I stop and restart my Bluetooth connection. If I start Bluetooth and run navigation without the media player, tts works fine.
Apparently the audio issue where it keeps turning my volume down is only when it's not connected to Bluetooth in my car.
do you even use google navigation? if not just disable it in setings

Well, it's difficult to use it when Navigation keeps messing up my audio. The phone is still pretty new to me. I just got it in January. I'd like to use it as my GPS, but I'm not going to go for a long drive without playing any music in my car. And I'm not going to just use GN anyway, when I'm likely to blow past my next turn because the audio directions don't work properly.
Why would I bother to ask the question if I don't use (or, in this case, want to use) Navigation? It's like you're implying that I'm asking about something I won't bother using anyway.
My workaround for this issue
I have the same issue; both music and nav volume drops during voice turn by turn instructions. I found the media volume is being turned from full to half during the nav/voice output. I use Volume Ace and it has a feature to "lock media volume". I check this box and now when a turn by turn instruction plays the nav/voice speaks at full volume (the media volume setting is no longer reduced to half during voice output) though the music is also playing at full volume in the background. Hope this helps.

That helps a lot. Thanks! I'll have to give this a try and see if it works on my phone.
Do you have to set the media volume lock each time you want to use the GPS? Seems like you'd need to turn it on/off only when you need to use the Navigation app.
Yes i have to turn the media lock on for gps and off for normal use. Its a hack for sure but at least i can hear the gPS voice prompts for now until Google fixes the maps app. Good luck.

Has anybody actually found a proper solution to this problem? I am having exactly the same issue on my new HTC one GE. If I pair my phone to my car via Bluetooth and use Copilot (navigation app) while playing music through the stock play music app, every time there's a voice prompt from copilot the music volume fades down, as it should, but then it doesn't automatically come back up when the prompt ends. I have to manually increase the volume which is both annoying and dangerous. To me it seems something rather simple to do but according to Copilot's customer support it entirely depends on my phone's capabilities, whatever that means. I know that I'll get a lot of grief by saying this, but my iPhone 4 could do this no problem.

I just stopped using my n7 media player and switched to Pandora radio. Pandora doesn't have this issue. It must have a separate volume control built into the app.
Hi folks,
I've just started using Stratos with stock fw 2.3.0.8 and noticed a strange thing. I start playing music via my BT headphones directly from the watch (i.e. no smartphone used) and everything works fine. Then I launch the RUN option to start which switched to the excercise screen and starts tracking the pace, HR etc. but it STOPS the music. I didn't find a way how to restart or control the music from the RUN screen. Not sure if this is a bug, or I just haven't found the right procedure to do so.
SO - how do you listen to music and have the run tracked at the same time??
Many thanks,
loni
By doing exactly what you did, but you control the music while in the activity with the headphones buttons (it needs to be A2DP compatible, so probably it has more than 1 button for play/pause, next/prev music and volume). Other than this, you can use third party apps to go back to main screen and then go the music widget, but it's not advised and it may cause problems with the activity tracking.
Same problem here. My first training went smooth, i've played music, then start RUN and go - awesome.
2 days later i did exactly same thing - music, run, go - music stopped.
I'm using Huawei AM61 with VOL UP, VOL DOWN, FUNCTION buttons. How i can resume music once activity tracking starts? How to minimize to "desktop" after activity start? BT music was the main reason i've bought this watch - so i can leave my phone at home.

If the music paused then it should come back after you use the headphone's Play button. If it doesn't, probably either the headphones disconnected or media player crashed. Music control went back to Stratos in CN dev builds, so it may come back to all devices soon (Stratos and Pace). In the meantime, you can use this floating bar to control music even when recording an activity:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.thsoft.shortcut
You can also try this other music player that works as the builtin but offers playlist support:
https://github.com/lfom/Amazfit-Music-Player/releases/latest
This used to happen to me. Changing the songs to lower bitrate and putting fewer songs on the watch fixed it. Also sometimes i needed to let it 'rest' after putting new songs on it.
Yeah, i deleted 2 big files (meaning that one mp3 is over 1 hour long), leaving normal ~3-5 minutes mp3's, and it seems to be working fine again. Probably media player was crashing.
I tried today listen music from my Stratos 2 during Run.
- Started Music
- going back choosing RUN and GO
Music stop playing ...
Is there any possibility to use tracking and listening music ?

Normally it is possible. At least on my Startos3 with 4.2.8.0 sw but it was working also with previous sw version.
First option is yours. Connect bluetooth device from connectivity menu and start music or connect headsets by starting Music. Then, start Music and Go to activities, choose Run and GO. Apparently, at this stage, music stops for you, which is not normal.
Try the following. Go to "running" in activities, you can scroll down below the button showing the "GO -searching GPS". The options are:
- activity goal
- running training
- settings
Go to settings, and you should have:
- Display settings
- More settings
- alerts
- accessories
- import routes
Go to "accessories" and the watch should normally search for a Bluetooth device => connect your headsets/earbuds.
Once connected, go back to main "running" window showing the "GO" button. Start the running session. Normally, you should be able to swipe down the main screen and you should see another screen, "routes" or same but with less or more data displayed. Continue swiping down again until "Music" control window appears. It should appear. Start music and go back to wanted screen when running.
