Hi folks,
I've just started using Stratos with stock fw 2.3.0.8 and noticed a strange thing. I start playing music via my BT headphones directly from the watch (i.e. no smartphone used) and everything works fine. Then I launch the RUN option to start which switched to the excercise screen and starts tracking the pace, HR etc. but it STOPS the music. I didn't find a way how to restart or control the music from the RUN screen. Not sure if this is a bug, or I just haven't found the right procedure to do so.
SO - how do you listen to music and have the run tracked at the same time??
Many thanks,
loni
By doing exactly what you did, but you control the music while in the activity with the headphones buttons (it needs to be A2DP compatible, so probably it has more than 1 button for play/pause, next/prev music and volume). Other than this, you can use third party apps to go back to main screen and then go the music widget, but it's not advised and it may cause problems with the activity tracking.
Same problem here. My first training went smooth, i've played music, then start RUN and go - awesome.
2 days later i did exactly same thing - music, run, go - music stopped.
I'm using Huawei AM61 with VOL UP, VOL DOWN, FUNCTION buttons. How i can resume music once activity tracking starts? How to minimize to "desktop" after activity start? BT music was the main reason i've bought this watch - so i can leave my phone at home.

If the music paused then it should come back after you use the headphone's Play button. If it doesn't, probably either the headphones disconnected or media player crashed. Music control went back to Stratos in CN dev builds, so it may come back to all devices soon (Stratos and Pace). In the meantime, you can use this floating bar to control music even when recording an activity:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.thsoft.shortcut
You can also try this other music player that works as the builtin but offers playlist support:
https://github.com/lfom/Amazfit-Music-Player/releases/latest
This used to happen to me. Changing the songs to lower bitrate and putting fewer songs on the watch fixed it. Also sometimes i needed to let it 'rest' after putting new songs on it.
Yeah, i deleted 2 big files (meaning that one mp3 is over 1 hour long), leaving normal ~3-5 minutes mp3's, and it seems to be working fine again. Probably media player was crashing.

OK. I have the oddest problem I'm hoping people can help me with, though I don't hold much hope.
Recently my UConnect stopped recognizing on the display when the track changed in Google Play Music from my Galaxy Note 3. The next track does start playing over BT, but the UConnect keeps showing the previous track info and progress bar. I never had issues before.
Phone recently got a software update so it could be on the phone side. It works fine with other music players on my phone though. Maybe a Google Play Music update broke it. However, on my BT connection to my home theater stereo, it properly updates the track info, so it's something between my phone and UConnect.
Here's the odd part that makes it hard to pin it to either the phone or the car specifically:
Track gets updated on my smartwatch via BT just fine.
Track gets updated on my home theater stereo over BT as normal.
Steering wheel buttons advance track forward (full control over music), and new track starts playing, but doesn't update track on screen.
Track gets updated on display if you click backwards to previous track, just not forwards either manually or automatically at end of previous track.
UConnect display gets updated automatically while playing tracks if you use a mixed playlist with different artists. If it's the same album by same artist it does not change track on display.
If I switch to a different audio source and back, it shows the correct song on the display, but it will not switch to next one automatically when playing an album.
Track displayed gets updated properly with other music players, just not Google Play Music.
Used to work before, but recently received Galaxy Note 3 4.4.4 AT&T firmware and also Google Play Music updates.
Tried repairing phone to car, but no luck. It's a UConnect 8.4A with latest firmware.
Did you ever have success in finding a solution for this? I recently bought a new Dodge Dart with the same system in it and it pairs fine with my OnePlus One, but it doesn't sync ANY of the track information. It just says "OnePlus One" where the title of the song would be. I figured maybe our problems would be related, but I could be wrong.
Similar thing with my new Jeep. I have the latest update 11.17.11 I think it is. There is no track info at all on the display. On top of that when I start a song it loops the first 2 seconds or so about 3 times before it plays. There also seems to be a disconnect between the play button.
I stream all my music however, so maybe that's a problem with the files not being on my phone.
Hello guys,
I have an LG Bluetooth headset which I tried to use for a run, I get the music playing from the watch but about 5 seconds after it starts searching for GPS, music stops.
When the run begins, I can't go out of the interface so as to get to music and play, I'd have to end the run.
So, it's either I run without music, with music but no GPS +run data or use my phone (which I left at home) for music while the watch does the running.
Any help with this please?
You can reach the music app in sports mode.
press button, swipe left.

Thanks, will try it tomorrow
Hey everyone,
When I have my phone connected up to Bluetooth in my car I can stream music (from andrewhaug.com app) for about 5-10 minutes before the music stops. If I wake the device it will resume streaming. Has anyone experianced this behaviour? Is there any kind of setting that I need to look at?
Im running DevBase 5.9.
I have tried resetting the Bluetooth settings but to no avail.
I have noticed possible similar behavior. When using my s9 plus verizon with my 2012 infiniti g37 randomly the Bluetooth music will skip on Spotify(every couple of minutes the music I'll pause for a second almost like a skipping CD) Never experienced this with my s8 or s7. Its always been like this with my s9. Never changed any settings or bothered looking into it.
So, somewhat of an update.
Over the past week I have noticed that the music streaming only cuts out IF the app is not the main focus. What I mean by that is; the app has to be running in full screen, like any normal app, BUT, if you exit out of it to the Home screen or go into another app and then lock the phone, that is when the music stops after a certain amount of time. Even though the app has a background service running, for some reason, its not the main app in focus, it gets put to sleep/kills the resources for it.
A bit of a weird quirk. Not sure if its an Android thing or an app thing.
Put the app out of battery optimisation & allow its background activity

I have battery optimization turned off for all apps.
Another interesting issue is when I'm streaming music, a call comes through, and when its done, the music doesn't resume playing. If I resume it like normal, it then stops like the original problem.
I can restart the phone and then it doesn't have a problem.
This started happening a few days ago and at first I thought it was just random issue, but its happening everytime.
The phone is Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro running MIUI 11 (11.0.3.0) and Android 10.
What's happening is that I am able to connect to my car's BT fine. I can make phone calls fine.
But when I play music, it will work with correct track info for only the 1st song, MAYBE the 2nd song.
For example, if I start a song and 30 seconds in I go to next song, the audio changes but meta data (track info) takes around 15-20 seconds to change. Once this starts happening, I have no more control of music from my car.
A few seconds later after that, music will stop streaming. My car and phone both show they are still connected and my phone is still playing the music.
After about 5 minutes or so, a random clip of music will play that was supposed to play like 3-4 minutes ago, could be even from a different song then what the phone is playing currently.
This really sucks because it was working fine before with the same phone! Other peoples phones work fine with the car.
Something to mention: I think it has to do with A2DP?
Also, there is an option in developer settings "Disable Bluetooth A2DP Hardware Offload". I can toggle this setting but I don't think it works. When I toggle that setting, the toggle becomes blue but then goes back to the left and phone prompts me "You must reboot to apply this setting". I press OK and it reboots, after the reboot the setting is still disabled and in Android Properties (using SetEdit app) I can see
"vendor.audio.feature.a2dp_offload.enable=true", but I cannot modify this I think. I'm not positive this has anything to do with it, but just some thoughts.
What I've tried:
Delete BT pairs, re-pair BT
upgrade car BT software
Used all AVCRP versions (reboot phone and car after each change)
Reinstall MIUI 11 update (same version I already have, just reinstall incase corrupt)
Rooted phone > edit build.prop > disable av.media.offload
I'm not a newbie user, I work as a software dev for a living but this one has me scratching my head. Any help at all is appreciated!
Did you manage to fix it? please tell us how, if you did

Normally it is possible. At least on my Startos3 with 4.2.8.0 sw but it was working also with previous sw version.
First option is yours. Connect bluetooth device from connectivity menu and start music or connect headsets by starting Music. Then, start Music and Go to activities, choose Run and GO. Apparently, at this stage, music stops for you, which is not normal.
Try the following. Go to "running" in activities, you can scroll down below the button showing the "GO -searching GPS". The options are:
- activity goal
- running training
- settings
Go to settings, and you should have:
- Display settings
- More settings
- alerts
- accessories
- import routes
Go to "accessories" and the watch should normally search for a Bluetooth device => connect your headsets/earbuds.
Once connected, go back to main "running" window showing the "GO" button. Start the running session. Normally, you should be able to swipe down the main screen and you should see another screen, "routes" or same but with less or more data displayed. Continue swiping down again until "Music" control window appears. It should appear. Start music and go back to wanted screen when running.
