Hello, this is an amazing little app that solves the dull color problem of the Pixel 2 XL. If that bothered you, download and install this little app-in my experience it works great! You can read all about it here -
http://www.androidpolice.com/2017/1...l-2-2-xl-vibrant-oreo-colorizer-apk-download/
Download it here - https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/short...ease/oreo-colorizer-1-0-android-apk-download/
It has some performance hits noticable mostly in the app switcher but it is definitely a huge improvement in colors if that's the kind of thing you're looking for.

It definitely works, but I'm not a fan of the constant notifications you get with it running.
Beware of performance hit and heat issues.
Op failed to mention that. This is not fix by any means.

Nice to see color again. Great app so far. Battery takes massive hit. So for me not a daily driver but it does show that there is hope for the screen after all.
Nice start...

Yes, it does...I have read that the developer is working on improving performance of it...we will see. But it is a great start...I hope Google implements more color options with the next update.

Interestingly enough, it had nothing to do with the display. Mine was actually quite decent. I had issues with call quality, dropped signals, etc. But the kicker was the charging time. It was anything but rapid. Hadn't noticed it until today as I hadn't had to use the OEM charger until this afternoon. I only charged it once prior, and that was overnight with a 3rd party non rapid charger the first night I had it so I wasn't able to observe the speed. When I finally plugged it in with the included charger and cable it took 40 minutes to go from 13% to 20% and it was saying it would be fully charged in 5 hours.

Also, with hardly no screen time, your phone is awake quite a bit.

Possible Resolution to battery Drain Issue
I called Samsung Support and they helped me to change the wifi sleep policy from "never" to "when screen turns off". This resulted in using up less than 10% of my battery last night from 11PM to 7AM.
Action Taken:
1. Settings
2. Wireless and Network
3. Wifi Settings
4. Click Menu Button (next to Home Button) and Select Advanced
5. Select Wi-Fi sleep policy
6. Change it from "Never" to either "Never when plugged in" or "When Screen turns off".
7. One person reported success rebooting their phone after making these changes. For me I did not have to reboot.
I also thought that this may increase my hspa+ data usage, but it was hardly noticeable last night.
Yea...you're actually getting terrible battery life smarty pants

This happens with custom roms too. It is the wifi bug that Entropy512 noted in the other thread.
I'm getting around 20 hours on unnamed ROM with the mentioned wifi sleep policy setting. Is this good? I read my rss feeds like 5-6 times a day, make about 1 hour of phone calls, read autoguide forums like 5-6 times as well. I think it's ok?

Screen always uses a lot of battery power, but if you wanna reduce this, you can lower you brightness.
My screen always uses the bulk of my battery. Even with brightness almost all the way down. I had been getting about the same battery life as you with minimal usage. Then I bought a 1900mah Anker battery and get 14 hours with 50% still left.

Lol I don't use that either or ever take my sync off, I depend heavily on my emails, especially for school and my little phone fixing venture. :cyclops:
Please note that those values are relative. If for example wifi uses up more energy than the screen, the screen will show a lower % value although using the same amount of energy. So in one of the previous Screenshots I would be rather more concerned about my idle usage being higher than the screen usage

As for apps, nothing too heavy, just the occasional look at Browser, Ingress, and (alarm) Clock.
Isn't that battery life rather awful? i thought atleast 6-7 hrs of on screen time was reasonable?
I usually get 9-10 hours screen time average when I don't game to much. Gaming a lot brings it down to 5-6 hours of screen time.

Coming from a Asus TF300 with dock which gives me 16 plus hours I am finding the N10 battery life pretty bad.
This on top of the light bleed, lack of memory card slot and the not so cheap price is making me thinking in returning it.
It is a nice Tablet but I am not sure if worth the asking price,
I game, surf, all kinds of stuff and get at least 10hrs.
But, I find the screen really really bright, even on the lowest setting in bright light in the house. Mine is always on the lowest setting and probably why my battery life is good.

This is so important for battery life. I just understand why people set brightness so high... Screen brightness will kill battery life..That's pretty much standard on any portable device.

I agree, even my ipod I keep on the lowest setting.
I have finally converted my daughters into a very low setting. Your eyes will adjust and you will see after and realize even at 25% it is very bright.
People automatically want the wow factor and turn up the brightness most of the way. I can't have it a tick and it burns my eyes.
I am not sure how people have them up so high, this screen is really bright.
A bright screen is useful in the sun though
My brightness was around half-way; I just put it at lowest, so I guess I'll try seeing how it goes

NFC is limited to a distance of approximately 4 centimeters while Bluetooth can reach over 10m.
NFC technology consumes very little power compared to standard Bluetooth technology. The only difference is when NFC has to power a passive, (unpowered) source such as an NFC tag. Then its about the same as bluetooth.
The latest development in Bluetooth technology, Bluetooth low energy (BLE), is targeted at low power consumption and uses even less power than NFC.
I guess to answer quickly.. if you have NFC on all day you'll probably lose less than 1% battery.

Worth adding to @hamdogg post that the NFC features of most devices is only useful for initial pairing, after that the pair is stored and Bluetooth is used. Unless you are indeed using tags or transferring data to others or something it really is pointless having it on all the time.

Well reducing time by not toggling the NFC button will shorten the time to do an instant pairing i suppose. to turn it on when you need it will make an additional step in my book

That's just your usage compared to the other things. Your Ultra has been running for 38 hours and it's at 69% which tells me that you haven't really touched it that much, and that's why the screen is only at 20%.
The screen has been off, so it has not been using power. NFC has been on for 38 hours straight, so it still uses power when other things, like the screen, is off, and thereby using more power than the screen has been using (since you haven't really used the screen that much).
Android's battery monitor is complete garbage, and it's not as straight forward as you would think. Use BBS for actual battery usage.
Nothing here looks ununsual to me. NFC has not used 26% of your battery.

You enable Low Power Mode within BatteryGuru. You can set it to activate automatically after your battery dips below a specific percentage. It lets you also specify the actions you want the phone to do, such as reduce screen brightness, reduce app refreshes, disable data/wifi/bluetooth, and basically anything that can eat at your battery life.
I've used the app with other snapdragon powered phones and it does provide a significant boost in battery life. I'm currently using it on my Galaxy S5 and it helps extend an already long battery life. I'm excited that my custom Moto X is currently out for delivery right now, I keep checking the door hoping it arrives!

Yes it does causes battery drain, maybe because it wants us to enable location services for its group of features to work! thats weird, i dont understand why a battery saver application wants location services to save battery. I uninstalled it and got the Greenify apps, works quite well!
