you dont need zip, just copy this https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B4bibNdQjz0dbGtyR0dHZFBVZnc to twrp backup and do restore. There is no zip roms for this v10 anywhere. You need to put phone in to dowload mode to use lg bridge

I download the contente from Google drive. I unzipped and got system.ext4.win000 file. I tried to place it on sd card but when I try to make the restore I can't found it. Should tihs file to be copied to a specific folder?

hmm not sure, havent tested. Did you try using lg up in download mode?
I never had made a backup trought twrp. I made it today and I could see backup folder created on sd card. I replace the file and made the restore but no success. I tried to use the twrp file manager and a had acces to my old system. All files are there. Can be something related with the bootloader that do not reach the system?

hard to say. Did you try factory reset? I fixed all my problems with lgup and lg bridge, there is no other way.
As I say, when the problem turns to our side sometimes we lost our brain. I tried to put the phone in flash mode and I could recognize by pc. I tried to flash with lgup but without sucess. Also tried with lg bridge but no success also. However I saw a blue link into lg brigde and the program changed to a different mode. And finally there I could put my phone workind back again.

Hey..
Before asking for help let me tell you the whole story 1st, my device was working like charm..
It was Rooted ( i followed this instruction to get Root access ), having PhilZ recovery ( got this from here )..
I removed bloatwares and unwanted apps etc, made some tweaks using Xposed and some directly, replaced bootanimation still device was working fine after this I export it as Custom ROM.
Problem comes here when I was restoring Custom ROM i got Bootloop ( stuck on 1st LG logo ), I guess I forgot to Wipe Dalvik Cache..
I tried following solutions:
- Boot in to Recovery Mode, tried almost every combination but no to avail.
- Flash Stock Firmware but there is no flash files available on internet.
There is a guy on lgbbs.com who have .kdz ( link for f430l's .kdz ) it's paid content, I have not Paypal or any other source to buy.
- Tried in local market but there is no one who can help me.
- Now I want to get into Recovery Mode using ADB but I am facing following problem.
Please check out the attached pictures, hope so you'll get the point (remember device is in bootloop position).
Install PDANET for windows
Get into philz recovery
connect the phone to pc
rename the rom to ROM.zip
copy to adb folder
now put the following command
adb push ROM.zip /sdcard/ROM.zip
Now install from internal sdcard
hit thanx if i helped you
I found this
http://main.develoid.com:81/lg/
LGF430LAT-00-V10a-LGU-KR-AUG-16-2014+0.tot
Is the file you would want. Tots are another form of LG stock software. You'd need the LG Flashtool for it. Might need to find a dll file for it, if it's not included in the zip. I have no way to test if it's the correct file, but is free to download and most people wouldn't go through all the trouble to upload 2 GB files if it wasn't a working one. Good luck.

Goodafternoon,
I tried to root my Honor 7, but failed, don't know why, was stuck in a bootloop. Then I unfortunately deleted the whole system with TWRP recovery..
Then I downloaded the current ROM from a forum called modaco which seemed to be trustworthy and extracted it with HuaweiUpdateExtractor to then install the data with fastboot. I installed everything like system, boot, data etc. and everything works fine, except for the internal storage. Normally it should have about 13 GBs, but now has less than 3. When I go to Storage in the settings, it tells me I only have 3 GB internal storage in total.
As I don't exactly know how to describe this problem and therefore don't know how to google it, I ask you. If you need some more information let me know.
Would be very kind if anybody could help me or have some advices as I am not a real genius in doing such things.
Thanks!!
Hi,
First of all, is the custom rom deodexed ?
because on stock rom ( emui ) , you juste have to go into recovery, then factory reset, with a Custom, idk
I can only tell you before trying factory reset, make a full backup, then you could try

After manually flashing all the .img files you should perform a force update aka three button update, by putting the same version of UPDATE.APP from which you extracted those .img files.

So you mean, I have to flash the phone with bootloader with the extracted files from update.app and then put it on my SD card and manually update my phone with exactly that update.app file? or am I wrong? I already tried something similar, but couldn't find the option in my honor 7 in the update settings, to manually update (I have put the update.app on my sd card).
I tried to install another ROM (MoDaCo - ROM) with hard resets etc. but didn't solve the problem.
I do exactly have 3.87 GBs of internal storage after flashing the new ROMs or update.app files. I found somebody else with the exact same problem. He solved it by hard resetting his phone with the TWRP recovery, but didn't work for me. In that forum they told him, he has some "ghost ROMs" on his phone, from flashing his phone before.
If you do have any ideas or clues for me, don't hesitate to tell me. And thanks for your help!!

Yes, you have to do exactly that, flash files like cust.img, system.img, recovery.img, userdata.img(DELETES YOUR DATA), boot.img after extracting them using Huawei Extractor tool from UPDATE.APP.
After you do that follow below steps:
Put that UPDATE.APP in dload folder in your External SDCARD.
Switch off your phone.
Press the three button combo (Vol UP + Vol DOWN + Power).
After this your whole device will get flashed with that UPDATE.APP file you put in dload folder.
Try these steps, then tell me if the problem still persisits. I hope this solves it.

Currently I have the custom MoDaCo ROM installed (don't know if you know it). To follow the steps you mentioned above, do I have to get back to stock ROM first, or can I just leave ROM as it is and flash it?
Thanks.

To update my firmware in future, I have to download the new update.app and do the 3 button update, right? Or any other way? Are OTA updates no more possible?
Thanks again
@Maxdr13 If you are rooted, then flash manually the img files then do a three button update, but if you are on stock ROM and recovery, just dong three button update by putting UPDATE.APP in dload folder will do.

@Maxdr13 I can't confirm about userdata, as once I did a three button update my data was intact, but some people also reported that data gets wiped, and after the three button update you will get OTAs.

System doesn't start but yes i can go in fastboot mod. I have a recovery stock i found on internet but it doesnt work perfectly. But i can reinstall twrp. I used A LOT of files with dload or HWOTA8 and it failed everytime.
So:
download this:
https://mega.nz/#F!Yt8EDQ6S!6vl70iHvwCf4QlPbrN3cTQ
this is valid stock recovery oreo
put in "HWOTA8" directory in ext SD those files and those files too:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1AUCN8e1gE6TIvem69YAy_sTGFsvoLorT
important: sd card have to fomrmatted in exFAT mode!!!!!
install a TWRP on phone
2 On the phone, hold down togheter the +volume key and the power key
3 The phone will reboot into the TWRP recovery
4 In TWRP, find the hwota8 folder on the SD card and flash the "hwota8_update.zip"
5 The phone will reboot into the stock recovery and it will install the firmware
++++++ IMPORTANT ! !! !!++++++
After installing the firmware you need to boot into the recovery and make a full wipe!
let me know what happening
I have already tried the HWOTA8 way but maybe it was bad files, i will retry with those files ! Thanks

Boot to download mode using power+ vol up and use lg bridge to restore the phone then reflash twrp.
I can reboot to twrp. I want to restore my backup but in twrp "No partitions selected for restore". I try to clean install my previous rom from https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v30/development/rom-debloated-stock-rom-11m-t3740564 but it bootloop again ;/

You can't use 7.0 ROMs, unless you flash back the bootloader as I guess there is a new one came with 8.0
As for TWRP, I did not try it yet, but if you wan't to go back you need to flash an older 7.0 .kdz
Well it crossed my mind, that this can be bootloader fault :/ If it is possible I can flash 8.0 kdz but Im scared. LG Up only upgrade existing system to new one, but my system is corrupted now. When I made this I lost TWRP and gonna be in real deep s***
i successfully went to oreo then back to nougat with LG UP without any problems. i am suing the COMMON dll, not the uppercut trick.
i suggest you to select REFURBISH in LG UP and flash again
I PM you
Correct me if im wrong:
I download dll from: https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v30/development/lgup-oreo-dll-file-v30-t3779441
-Create folder called "common" and unzip the .dll file inside of it.
-press vol up + power and boot into download mode
-Connect the phone to your PC
-Launch LGUP.exe
-Select process called "REFURBISH"
Select the firmware file (oreo or nougat?)
Click Start and pray
Ok everything goes great with steps above So if someone have bootlop problem like me, feel free to use LGUP
I'm currently sitting at TWRP and was going to restore my backup... it's gone. I was going to reboot to OS... TWRP warns me I have no OS installed.
In my tired state trying to solve an unrelated problem I must have killed my backup a few hours ago without noticing and then decided to use TWRP to format my phone so I could restore my backup... that I previously killed.
What can I do from this state? My brain is fried from hours of trying various troubleshooting threads across the internet and I'm just at a loss how to install the OS again without bricking and I don't want to make a mistake.
Appreciate the help. I do have US998820e_02_0910.kdz downloaded on my PC which is the latest KDZ I have downloaded.

Lol, that's what I thought... But I'm also very tired.
Can I just copy over my KDZ and then install via TWRP? I've always just used backups in the past.
This is a secondary phone that was wiped before anyways so I haven't lost anything important.... The backup was only there to speed things up.
If you are in TWRP, connect to PC and drag over your firmware TWRP flashable zip and Magisk. And whatever else you need, maybe encryption disabler, root check disabler. With Oreo TWRP flashable zip (since you have US998), all you need is the zip file and Magisk.
In TWRP file explorer, find location where you just copied them. Then install them.

LOL... I wasn't opposed to starting fresh... that was my ultimate goal, but I've not been in this exact situation before as I've always kept my backups. Being tired and in a hurry was my downfall this time. I just didn't want to go any further without proper advice as I was worried about bricking and just wanted to double make sure I wouldn't do that on my next attempt to "fix" it alone.

There are basically several options here.
If you can still boot into fastboot or even TWRP there's nothing to fear. It's really hard to completely brick a phone anyways.
So as suggested either use a flashable kdz (you can even adb sideload it to avoid the copying) or just flash (or sideload) any other ROM. Good luck

Connect the phone to the computer, and push a stock TWRP zip to the device and flash it. If you have an ad card port on the PC, then push it to the SD card and put it in the phone.

NM, saw my man @ChazzMatt using his forum superhero Powers again.
Download any zip of your choice and reboot. Then let Google backup restore your apps and settings.
Running into a new issue... after flashing 20H TWRP and Magisk I rebooted the phone. Android OS did it's first install and I made it to the setup screen... then while I was typing in my wifi password the phone simply shut down (played the shutting down LG logo animation). I turned the phone back on and same results... after loading to the Android setup screen around 1 to 15 seconds later the phone shuts down again. Phone has never done this before.
Any thoughts?
I'm not sure if it matters, but this was originally a US Verizon V30 that I unlocked and rooted following the guides here which "converted" to a US998.

I've attached Magisk 18 to this post. You can update after you reboot to system. (TWRP 18.X is friendlier with Oreo TWRP-FLASHABLE zips.)

Okay I think I know what the problem is... you may have to flash 20, F, g, H all back-to-back. Then reflash Magisk
Or flash the full 20h KDZ in LGUP , reinstall TWRP and reflash the three root files. Your choice.
The problem is there were so many changes between 20e and 20H with the TWRP flashable zips that you have to flash them all back to back to get the full firmware.
You can stack them in TWRP and flash them all at the same time followed by magisk.
lol... okay... I'll get to downloading, lol. Any recommended custom ROM suggestions? lol

Sorry, no, I'm still running rooted stock firmware. But others who use custom ROMs may have suggestions for your gaming issue, mentioned in your PM.
Check this out below and see if it helps you any.

I downloaded and installed ROM 20E from this thread under older zips.... https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v30/development/rom-fw-us99820e-twrp-zip-t3868415
still doing the same behavior. First boot Android does setup, then if I let it sit a few seconds it shuts down and reboots, gets to Android and then shuts down again... over and over.

Okay, think it's working. Having looked through the ROM maker's thread Magisk v18 is... needed? I previously installed a newer version (v19.2) which can cause this boot loop issue.... I also installed the ROM without any Magisk which still caused the boot loop which is why I wasn't thinking Magisk was the issue.... but after trying 20H with v18 Magisk... no more boot loop. Go figure.

Well, glad you got it working.
But the Magisk thing is why I had specifically attached Magisk 18 to my first post in this thread and said to use it... I even explained why.
I assumed you were using it.
