Is any developer going to do a ROM based on Android Nougat. Now when the Nougat 7.0 AOSP is released..
Skickat från min Le X820 via Tapatalk
Quite a few developers have abandoned their development for Le Max 2 as it is such an unpopular phone. They have moved on to One Plus 3.
Even I am willing to sell off my Le Max 2 because the company is such a b**** to deal with when it comes to support.
One Plus 3 not having Quick Charge based charging is currently holding me back. I am heavily invested in QC 3.0 chargers. All will go to waste if I get One Plus 3. It also has screen quality and calibration issues. Colors appear to be neon like.
We might not even get official Android Nougat 7 for our Le Max 2 as the company has not yet provided Android Marshmallow 6 to Le Max 1 as of today.
Who in their right minds will buy their products? God save this company.

Hi,
It's correct that the OnePlus 3 is more popular.
But owning it, I really would advise NOT TO BUY IT ! It's only plus over the LeEco is the community support...
I would recommend the Axon 7... I've seen it. It's really nice. But it's not available as for now here in Europe.
Besides, Google will announce their own devices anytime soon now. I'd wait for those ones to see how they are price wise.
I also do not understand why those devs that were working on the LeEco never published sources... That would allow other devs to continue their work, and maybe give this device the popularity it deserves.
Regards.
Hello everyone,
I read on the forum that the developer were arrested Roma on the phone max2 because not enough love ?? I would buy it, I hoped for a follow rom ??

Hi,
Not really sure to understand what you mean...
Anyways : yes, ffboy2009, which has delivered a lot of the ROMs, and especially CM13, has announced that the latest CM13 build he posted would be the last development on this device.
Unfortunately, he seems to be the only one to have had access to LeEco kernel sources and he hasn't released sources so unless anyone with the sources can come up, we're stuck with Android MM.
Regards.

LMAO. I hope he meant developer from Roma has stopped Le Max 2 development. Arrested = stopped (Dude is using some seriously messed up translator)
If you browse ydss.cn with google translate, you get hilarious translations like "I support the landlord for his landlording, pour some chopsticks over my tea"

Ofcourse. How can they forget to discuss about Soy sauce in the middle of ROM development?

Hello, WTF is Roma?
LeEco has released kernel source code for this device. MM-based Mokee firmware daily builds are available. Cm14 is in its early stages of development and is not available for many devices. However, there are no problems which can prevent CM or other AOSP nougat based ROM from not being released for this phone.
I also have this question. I just bought the Le Max 2 (maybe regrettably) and was hoping to find at least a rom with 7.0 in it. I need to get rid of EUI ASAP.
Try Mokee rom. Google it and you will find a download page. Soon there will be a nougat based CM14
we were close to a nougat rom. @ffboy2009 have a working rom a few days ago. just the camera wasnt working. but it seems that some people are more concernerd with secondary issues that could be resolved via private messages that actually help. the same people that only write in le max foruns to create problems, but to help resolve them, not one single post. hope @ffboy2009 can post is rom soon so other people like the great dev @STEVE_MARS can help solve the bugs
@ffboy2009 can you please post the ROM? Thanks

Okay, so more than half a year after the release of Nougat, we still do not have a stable 7.x ROM for the G2 available, yet Google has already released developer previews for 8.x.
So, what are the chances that we're going to see 8.x on the G2?
What? That is so wrong.
CrDroid.... My G2 was never so fast and used so less battery - and CrDroid (7.1.1) with Lambda Kernel is stable.
So I don't know what you're doing wrong, but this is not true.
Also running on nougat and have no troubles??? latest LineageOS veryy fast and stable and also battery time is very good.

Correct! LineageOS works great. Hope we will get O from Lineage Team
CrDroid with lambda works great, better than stock in every way. Especially since bigboy ported the stock lg camera. Android 0 is and will be buggy for a long time, its just the first dev preview build.
we have a lot of roms Nougat good and stable so i think will we have good Android O but we will take some times
AICP 12.1 (based on Android 7.1.1) with Lambda Kernel works perfect. Stable, fast and battery friendly.
aicp much cooler than crdroid with this rom i have no wish to buy a new phone after 3 years... it works better than most midrange 2017 phones unfortunately cameras got old..
+1 that, I have a Note 5 - and I miss the performance, battery life and hold-ability of my G2. Don't be fooled by new phones people, they're way less optimised with their dual-processor configurations (8-cores), and quite often the weaker cores are less powerful than this device.

Well, first off, we already have multiple Android 7.x ROMs that are stable, I don't know what you're talking about.
Will we see 8? That depends if someone is willing to make ROMs for this phone. And I'd say yes, we will have Android O, maybe not immediately but it will come.

lol this just so true... I don't really need to upgrade the phone with a bunch of Android N roms for LG G2 but the camera is quite sluggish already. Thats the only part that keeps reminding me its an old phone lol
CrDroid is okay if you like plain.
go to AICP and boom , you don't really need to use all the customization
I hope people will be developing roms for this unkillable phone.
Sorry for this little OT but it has some relation with the thread... At least with LineageOS the headphones volume its so much lower than with Stock (or stock optimized) roms, do you know if this is solved in any nougat rom ? Thanks in advice and sorry again for OT.

Here it is. As you see still 6.0 and yeah, still almost year old security patch.

Was my first Xiaomi, and now is my last!!!!
Never never Xiaomi again!!
Guys they sell great value for money products.. u can always change the software but what matters is the hardware.
Take the example of leco le max 2 it has snapdragon 820 at a price range of 10500 at banggoods, no one can match.. To its performance per dollar ?..
But still 6.1
?
I am cool with my phone and thank xiaomi because of it selling so many phones we have got such a great community on xda..
I have my pixel but still use my redmi 3s as it being my first phone.

Someone actually know when would android nougat be available on this device?
its a shame, that they not even update the security patch level: still from 04/2017!!!
Otherwise:
i love MIUI - i don't need Nougat/Oreo...
everything work perfekt for me. But Performance and Akku is better in LOS and co...
yup I really hate xiaomi for not providing at least one android upgrade and for this ancient security patch. the moderators on miui forum are very rude one word against xiaomi and baaaam instant ban. They are bootlickers of xiaomi. I also hate ugly round green coloured notification toggles. and with every stable update new bloatwares and no option to remove them and also plenty full of ads
Never

Xiaomi is fooling us by upadting MIUI version. They are not updating Android version.
To everyone complaining about miui. It's true that it's a bad OS but not ****ty. As a matter of fact, MIUI is far more stable than any of the custom ROMs available. Xiaomi instead of bumping the android version from marshmallow, keeps increasing the stability with marshmallow which isn't bad. And those suffering from bloatware, use modded miui like Xiaomi.eu or miuipro.
Official MIUI with Android 7.0 or higher will NEVER come to the 3S. Just flash official LineagOS 14.1, is as stable as the stock ROM, you'll have decent notifications and no bloatware.
The MIUI update 9.5.1 was actually pulled back and made nightly due to critical bugs.
http://en.miui.com/thread-2160466-1-1.html
The update was on Android 6.0.1 (obviously) and with April Security patch ( 2017 not 2018 )
So in short use Custom ROMs and be happy with the minimal bugs and in return get solid performance and stability.
My recommendations : crDroid 3.8.5 OFFICIAL

They have weekly ROM updates for those who want to opt-in to the developer builds.
Stable builds are at their own discretion.
They're not amazing, but better than many.
Security updates is another story. They're a bit slow with them, though I think that varies per device (Redmi is budget so gets low priority).
Poco is a new brand trying to go global though, so hopefully it's better than other devices (not sure how security updates are on the flagship Mi series)
After one or two months most of the people will shift to some or the other custom rom. So there won't be any problem with the security updates and normal OS upgrades. My Mi3 was released with KitKat now it's running Android Pie

I assume he's asking about *Xiaomi* updates, the official ROM. Of course you can just install custom ROM's to get latest updates unofficially - but that makes the question moot.

Beta ROM updates are very fast both security n OS updates.
Stable updates within the same OS version are faster too. But OS upgrade need a bit waiting time as OS integrating to MIUI takes time.
Poco I expect faster updates due to treble support.
FYI:
Mix 2S of xiaomi already has Android 9 beta update.
very bad on stock roms stuck to old OS builds for mid range phones but on flagships very fast like blyat cyka rush b
I have used Redmi 2, Redmi 2 Prime, Redmi Note 3/4/5, Redmi 3S/prime and only Redmi 2 and Redmi Note 3 as my daily driver.
Those things taught the following:
Don't except updates from Xiaomi, not even security patches, although they have started providing patches on Note series but they are always late, so patches may arrive but not when you expect them.
You may not get the latest features even if you have the latest android version on your MIUI, why? because Xiaomi wants to provide same features to all the phones so that phones running on Kitkat will have the same feature as phone running on Oreo, this makes their software development easy, that means that the feature that you are using doesn't have native support and may be buggy and battery hogging.
There are two channels in MIUI - Beta Channel and StableChannel. Stable channel update is provided every 4-5 months or whenever they feel like or to fix a very important bug. Beta channel was previously bimonthly but I have heard that now, it's changed. Due to this, they don't fix bugs properly and instead introduce more bugs in the system
Their update size are generally 500MB-1.5GB but the fixes are things like: Calender icon changed, Button of some subforum in MIUI forum app changed, New Ringtones and every useless things, then in the end *Bug Fixes* but they don't mention which one. Out of every 10 beta updates only 1 or 2 updates are useful while others are just formality.
Now, note this, other companies give update to keep your phone running for longer amount of time. Xiaomi thinks different, they will wreck your device with every update they provide.
When I had Redmi Note 3, Beta channel was more better and more stable than the Stable channel, I am not lying go check the forums.
There is no major change in MIUI 7-9 the first major change I saw was MIUI6 - MIUI 7 after that all changes were just useless and they everytime just change notification shade style.
MIUI 10 - Notification shade now looks like a copy of iPhone and it's really very cheap act by Xiaomi, although their App switcher is somewhat cool.
Custom ROM:
Xiaomi phones works best with stock android and indeed has the best development support. But there are few catches.
Not all features work in custom ROM, you will have to leave one or two things if you want to use custom ROM.
The famous and best developers will not port VOLTE if their cell providers don't provide it
Camera (on Xiaomi phones) doesn't works well on custom ROMS.
Xiaomi does provide kernel but they don't provide a lot of proprietary codes and binaries that ensures smooth functioning of phones.
Don't buy the phone if you want to get updates unless it's Chinese, they do care about Chinese people unlike their global counterpart, or those people who develop global roms are arseheads.
All the above points can be confirmed on MIUI forums and XDA, if anyone says that even one of the point(s) is wrong, he is probably new in Xiaomi's world.
Redmi is the cheap line and they get late updates and bugs are not fixed properly. Mi is the expensive line of Xiaomi so they get proper update in first few months and after that they are also neglected. Since Poco is also a cheap but is a flagship, they will get good number of updates and fixes for few months then they will announce another phone and Poco will be neglected, and people who are saying that Poco has a different team may be wrong, I don't think Xioami will divide the team because internally it uses the same MIUI as others only launcher is different. For world Poco is a brand, for Xiaomi it's yet another phone.
Depends. My Mi3 got updated from kitkat to Marshmallow while my mi tab 1 was still stuck at kitkat with such a laggy interface until I flashed nougat roms with shiels blobs which made the tab as smooth as my oneplus 3. So MIUI sucks and they don't update android versions when they update their miui version. So buy a phone which has strong custom rom support. (Xiaomi models that are sold in India have strong dev support from what I have seen)
Thanks everyone for the info. That gives me a good idea.

It was said 4-5 months ago that davinci will get MIUI 13 but with A11 although I doubt now
Yep, it looks like Xiami "changed their minds" regarding Mi 9T support.
A shame.
Good thing I stayed with the untouched MIUI 12.0.5 firmware, seeing how many issues came with MIUI 12.1.X
I'll probably go for alternative firmwares once I see one in these forums that looks stable enough.

It was my Daily driver for couple of months and I was satisfied (and other users on Xiaomi.eu forum and here - you could look under 9, 9T Pro, 9 SE - all those phones ended with the similar situation regarding the updates)
Still on my old 9T but I have switched in the meantime to the new daily driver, 11 Lite 5G NE

Seems no more upgrades for the whole series Mi 9 series.
But from my experience it is better than 12.1, 12.2
Also, you have to format Data when switching to Xiaomi.eu and IMO, that heals the issues people otherwise reported while upgrading stock to 12.1 or 12.2
If you are ok with MIUI, that's the best you can get
But it is also questionable how many custom ROMs will continue to get updates

Yes but you can think the same about ROM. If you settle with a good one, who cares (for a year or so) if it won't be updated.
It's important that there are other users, and that you can get help/support among them
Ok, you don't get new security updates. But apps will be continually updated for A11 for some years to come (Xiaomi.eu 12.5.2 is A11)

The phone will surely die before A10/A11 stops getting support from apps though.
Lineage from Arian is supported and updated every week. The one reason 19.1 is not popular yet, is because of data decryption is not possible yet on A12, but ROM is soooo smooth andbug free I can't wait to get it as my daily
