Appflash - LG V30 Questions & Answers

Anyone notice a difference in scrolling speed when disabling Appflash? It gets faster but doesn't feel smooth at all while scrolling in home pages

FPS cap on notification bar scrolling

So the scrolling on the notification bar feels about the same no matter which ROM I choose. It is kind of bugging me that when I scroll quickly it is noticeably laggy. This leads me to believe that it isn't some performance setting but some kind of cap. Also, it isn't simple lag because you can watch the screen refresh at seemingly equal intervals when you drag the notification bar. I OCD on the smoothness of scrolling on everything but especially about the notification bar drop down.
Any Ideas?
Edit: So I think there is a soft cap of 60fps and this could possibly be the cause. Is it possible there is a cap specifically for the notification bar? I unpacked the SystemUI.apk just looking around because I am interested in learning more about android but realized that until I learn more about androids functions and syntax there is almost no point. I did look through the StatusBarService file and found where I believe it is tracking the finger and moving the status bar and I did not notice any specific cap in this location. I assume it would be further along into the system.
After all that trouble (not so much trouble to me but w/e) I think it is probably just a system FPS cap that I hope isn't in the kernel. It is not in the build.prop like on some phones or if that changed for some reason.
hope this helps
you can Remove the FPS cap entirely
Debug.gr.swapinterval=0
off=0
Lower fps but no cap = Dyn
on = 1
if its still lagging then you could try finding Force GPU rendering (use 2d Hw accel in apps) (it should be in developer options)
if that doesn't work try adding "persist.sys.use_16bpp_alpha=1" to your build.props and if those don't work , try them all together if you didn't already

[Q] Camera laggy? + UI lag?

Hi!
I'm running Hyperdrive 8.1 and I've noticed that the camera drops about 10 frames when I show my camera around my closet... Whereas when i slide my camera over to my monitor, it is extremely smooth. Could it be the cluttered ness? Or...
Also there is a slight UI lag... Is there any possible way for me to fix it?
Syncs: Facebook, Google, Samsung Account, Skype, Twitter and Vine. I made sure many of them aren't synced automatically.
I think it has to do with the lighting. When theres quite a bit of light my camera is smooth but when moving to darker conditions it gets a bit choppy when moving the camera around. I.remember stock being similar so i dont think its a rom issue and it doesnt seem to affect picture quality. As for ui lag I always disable the animations and it makes the phone super snappy. The option is under developer options, near the bottom.

"Wobbly" scrolling in portrait mode

This is a really great tablet, and I like it very much.
But one thing is really irritating:
When in portrait mode (for me, the standard mode of operation) the scrolling is not really smooth. One side lags a bit behind the other so that a "wobbly" effect results. This is especially noticeable when scrolling fast, not so much when scrolling slowly. And it is especially noticeable when scrolling larger amounts of text.
The phenomenon doesn't occur in landscape mode.
The tablet has a very strong GPU and CPU, so this doesn't fit into the high-end-ishness of the device, and since the screen doesn't have the very highest resolution, scrolling should not pose such problems!
Does anyone know something about the reasons?
Would it be possible to eliminate the problem with a better graphics driver?
Could it be possible (on a rooted device) to "tell" Android on this device that portrait mode is the standard orientation instead of landscape, so that the wobbling at least occurs in landscape but not in portrait??

huge stutters in youtube, and scrolling and general ui smoothness.

have a note 8 and a pixel 2 xl atm and notice huge differences in overall smoothness... which is odd because my old mate 9 was pretty smooth.

it struggles to hold a smooth framerate scrolling in settings,
youtube is super stuttery

app switcher stutters ALOT too, especially in splitscreen.
Was wondering if I accidentally turned on some secret low power mode or something. Don't see any reviews mentioning this performance issue.
US version, feb security patch.
Yes even Google map when you are making a turn it is laggy which is super annoying.

Question enhance your browsing experience

If you are disappointed in the screen dropping to 60hz whilst browsing and it not being buttery smooth try this:
open up the game enhance app and add in your browser app, next open up your browser and go to the game enhance settings, under game mode select custom and change the following settings: thermal limit to high, max screen refresh rate to 120 and touch response rate to high. If your screen goes too cold (blue) whilst browsing go to the display and sound setting click on image quality setting and and adjust the white balance slider on the bottom.
Browsing should become so much smoother and the screen should stop dropping to 60hz when device warms up.
