The old SD-Card Problem - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Forum,
I have the Xenon-Android installed and never got that sdcard problem solved.
I have that internal and external one (sdcard0 / sdcard1) and can't manage to get data to the external sd in Google Play as in Maps and so on.
Isn't it possible to just have internal memory and sdcard being the sdcard like on other phones.
Can I change some mounting or whatever and resize internal partition somehow.
I would install some other OS, is the backup / test phone anyway, nothing essential.

[Q] Problem with backup using CWM 5027

I am using CWM 5027.
When running a backup I get errors about missing external SD but one is installed. The errors are:
No /sdcard/.android_secure found. Skipping backup of applications on external storage.
No sd-ext found. Skipping backup of sd-ext.
Since it backs up to the SD I'm not sure you would want it to also back up the SD itself. Seems like an infinite loop problem (at least until it runs out of space). However, the fact that it doesn't see external storage, particularly for the first error, seems to be something I should fix. Does this have anything to do with how the SD card is named? Or does it have to do with how apps on external storage are stored? I used the normal android tools to move large apps to SD.
Thanks.

[Q] Sd-card mounting problem

Hey guys,
I am facing a problem with my external storage on my Samsung galaxy II.
The apps on my device can't find the external storage, so I can't download files to my external storage or use my camera. Altough, when I search for it in my explorer I find sd-card0 and sd-card1. Sd-card1 seems to be my external storage and I can simply open it and use my files. Sd-card0 on the other hand is not found.
My guess is that my apps try to use the sd-card0, the one that doesn't exist, for storage instead of storing on sd-card1.
This problem emerged after rooting the device and installing CM 10.2, at this point I am running the Slim_4.4.2 ROM but the storage problem isn't solved.
Does anyone know how I could fix this?
i recommend a clean reinstall ( including a thorough format of system data , cache , INT SD AS WELL AS EXTERNAL SD via cwm )
sdcard 0 is ur internal memory
sdcard1 is ur external storage
apps are stored on sdcard0 not sd card 1(since move to sd feature was remmoved after jb)
as the previous one recommended a clean wipe can solve this
the problem may be arised probably due some root app interfering with your stoage and made some files corrupt when you were rooting
if clean wipe doesnt work try flashing stock with pit file
Note:cm10.2 has problems with storage and wasnt stable for s2

how to get apps to install on sdcard instead of internal memory

i have a rooted p769, my internal memory is almost full and i have a 8gig sdcard which is not even being used, i have tried every program out there to try to move apps to sdcard but nothing is working, is there a way i can somehow rename the internal sdcard to external memory and have the external sdcard renamed to internal memory so i can trick the phone into downloading and installing apps to it.
you have to install ext2sd.zip flash via cwm issue will be solve

Need a help of real Android system professional with the SD card connection

Hello everyone,
I am looking for the help of real expert on Android. I have an old phone Galaxy S II (I9100) and I said to myself that I will use it as an MP3 player, radio, handheld camera, in short, such a home device. I made a hard reset, installed CyanogenMod, that I updated, installed the necessary applications and because the phone has storage for applications only 2GB many I moved to internal storage for data that is marked as an SD card (in the storage manager) and it has 16 GB For MP3 I bought 64 gigabytes Samsung SD card. And then there was my problem. When I slid the SD card and run the system, it didn't see the application transferred to the internal data storage. The problem I think is that the system has changed the path of the internal data storage and the actual SD card. So it doesn't seek for apps in the internal data storage, but in the blank SD card. Is there any way to replace or modify the path to both memories so that the system will be looking for applications where before, ie only the internal data storage and not on an external SD card? Than I will be able to change SD card any time and it will not affect installed apps moved into internal storage for data. I have installed CM 12 with a root. All three storages can system see. Thank you very much.

How to move-link data from internal sd to internal storage?

My phone with Android O has an unfortunate partition table atm - large internal storage, small internal "sd" storage.
To my surprise, many apps insist to put their data on the sd parition like offline maps or email storage. So atm, half my internal storage is empty, and my sd is full :-\
All tools I have found move data/apps from the internal storage to the (external) sd card (apps2sd, link2sd, appmgr), and anything I have tried (Directory Bind, Folder Mount) aren't successful move-linking the "Android" folder on the sd to the internal storage. Moving and symlinking with the shell doesn't work either.
Question: Is there any app/way to make apps use the internal storage instread of the internal sd card (if they offer no config option)? Thanks!
.. Answering my own question:
After another day of fooling around I discovered that apps2sd "Folder Mount" tool can be mis-used to link external to internal with the "bind" option, even though it insists with a warning screen that this very thing shouldn't be done
