This ROM doesn't have any root options but certain applications like Google Tez, UPI apps, Banking apps are not working as it recognize the device as a rooted device. There is no SuperSU or Magisk installed by default neither I installed them (so unable to unroot by uninstalling these ).
I don't know how but my Snapchat works (it is not supposed to work on rooted devices).
I have undergone various methods to check the ROM's root capabilities like,
I checked the Terminal by typing
Code:
su
command, but it doesn't recognize it, hence no root.
Also there is a
Code:
$
in terminal at starting instead of
Code:
#
which depicts the root access, so no root here also.
I don't know how the ROM is rooted but it will be cool if you supply it with enabling and disabling root access feature like LineageOS do or just supply the unrooted ROM like AOSPExtended.
Does anyone have any method to unroot the device.
Really want to use this ROM because other ROMs are not yet stable like this.
Infinite loop(rebooting after booting into system for few seconds)
It was working well before I touched the pixel search bar. Now its booting into system even after flashing factory fastboot files still it is staying in the system for few seconds then rebooting @shekhawat2

Devs Are Awesome
Can someone please post screenshots
First I would like to thank everyone who worked on this ROM and made it so fast possible for us to use it.
I got a few questions:
- I assume the ROM is stable enough to use it as a daily driver, but how stable is it compared to the lastest LOS ROMs?
- Will the install/update process be 'easier' when the official source comes out?
- Moto actions don't work in the settings, should I install the apk as alternative?
- Are opengapps required? If so, when do I need to flash it during the install process?

1- its in beta stage , not perfect and stable as lineage but can be used as daily driver.
2 - that option always crashes. You can not assign ur own gestures for fingerprint.
3- Thats a stupid question , maybe u didn't read the flashing procedure. (Gapps already included) . You need the files specified in first post, if u flash other things other than these , Do not complain that its not booting.

Nope.... Kcal not supported by rom itself and kernel as well. If kcal support added in future in kernel , you can do after that.
Awesome port and amazing work by all the developers.
After installing just give some time to cmplt the system update and then it works as as butter and everything is working as it should be.
Volte also works by default

You can disable the pixel setup app .
If google play store notification are not disappearing , then force stop it once. If they still comes back , then do install the apps which google play store is suggesting to download through notification.

First time installing crDroid to your Moto G4 Play, or coming from another ROM: <--THESE MAY NEED UPDATING FOR YOUR PARTICULAR DEVICE; BE THOROUGH IN INSTRUCTIONS-->
** Make sure you're running a proper working Recovery (CWM or TWRP)
1) Copy crDroid zip, gapps zip to your device
2) Boot into Recovery
3) Wipe cache, system, & data.
4) Flash ROM
8) Flash gapps
9) Boot up
For root, AFTER you boot into the ROM, you can go back to recovery and install Magisk XX.x (whatever is most recent).
Upgrading from earlier version of crDroid:
The only difference between clean flash as above and upgrading is you just wipe system & cache, leaving data. Everything else is the same. ***Remember to always clean flash before reporting problems. Clean flashing is always the best method of ROM install.
KNOWN ISSUES
None ATM, tag me and include logs if you see any.
Don't expect any support if you:
- are not running the included kernel
- have installed any mods such as Xposed!(Magisk Modules are usually fine)
- have modified system files
- have dirty flashed
Thanks to:

- LineageOS

The AospExtended team did not respond to my official request or pm asking for official status. I have no idea why. Perhaps if members ask for it as well, they will be more likely to grant official status. Feel free to lobby them for me. Also, please discuss AEX related things on the AEX forum post I have created.
I plan to skip to AospExtended 6.7 as I have not had much time latly.

SELinux is currently enforcing. You can set it to permissive by typing in:
Code:
setenforce 0
into an android terminal or flashing a permissive patcher. I use Google Drive because I like it and I have unlimited storage space.

Signature Spoofing and Root ADB
HI all,
Do this build have signature spoofing disabled? In CRdroid there used to be a switch to enable signature spoofing and afaik there is a patch on upstream that suggest the signature spoofing is enabled by default:
hXXps://github.com/crdroidandroid/android_packages_apps_crDroidSettings/commit/fe45b12172edf660533f57fc36c7d01e9f0bf0c4
I've tested and seems is disabled, so I'm not sure if there was a patch on this specific build to disable it. I would like to use MicroG on this ROM , and as Xposed is not yet available for pie...
BTW, is it not possible to access ADB as root on this room ?
# adb root
adbd cannot run as root in production builds

Your commit link doesn't work, so I can't help you with that until you fix the link. As for adb root, it does not work in "userdebug" flavored builds. It is customary to build "userdebug." If you want root, try using Magisk.
You can read more about build flavors here:
https://source.android.com/setup/develop/new-device#build-variants
Works ok on a XT1607 (2GB of RAM), however is a little laggy. I ran antutu benchmark in this rom, here's a little video i made: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=loiqq8OBpzY
HI all,
I see my last post was a bit missunderstood.
In CRdroid there used to be a switch to enable signature spoofing and afaik there is a patch on upstream that suggest the signature spoofing is enabled by default:
hXXps://github.com/crdroidandroid/android_packages_apps_crDroidSettings/commit/fe45b12172edf660533f57fc36c7d01e9f0bf0c4
(Please, notice XX on the url. I cant post URLs, so please replace hXXps with https)
Anyway, on this build the singature spoofing is disabled. I would like to use MicroG on this ROM, and signature spoofing is important as I would like to avoid installing Google Apps.
Apart of this, I'm used to use ADB as root on LineageOS and other rooms. In this rom looks is not enabled. I have of course rooted the phone with magisk and I have set on the options "SuperUser access: Apps and ADB".
I can use applications as root, but when I try to connect via ADB as superuser I get this error:
# adb root
adbd cannot run as root in production builds[/QUOTE]
Is there something missing on this build ?

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of android, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock android for your device.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. If you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit our Wiki for more details.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
1. If you use twrp it will ask if you want to install the twrp app. Make sure you tap "DO NOT INSTALL".
2. If you care about your stuff, make a backup in TWRP first, just in case. Transfer it to a pc, along with all your stuff in internal storage.
3. The newest vendor, radio, & bootloader img's are included in the rom zip, so no need to worry about flashing those manually.
4. Lineage comes with adb root that you can enable in developer options, but if you want root for apps, flash magisk in recovery (after renaming magisk.apk to magisk.zip). Just don't flash it during initial lineage install, as it's known to cause bootloop if you do.

2. install rom zip.
3. if you use gapps or magisk, select the "reboot into recovery" option, then install those zips.

I had that but it was because I also wiped system and cache. I reflashed stock and only wiped data and now Google apps work except for Gmail
Just reporting, I am not passing safety net

An easy fix, for anyone with the gmail issue, you just have to go to settings->apps->gmail->permissions, and allow permissions to contacts and calendar.
EDIT: I'll try to figure out the issue of why gmail is not being granting permissions automatically, like it should.
But in the meantime, i'll just include gmail in my builds. That way it has that right permissions and just works like it should. If you don't want the app, you can just go to settings and disable it.
EDIT#2: New builds are available in first post. One notable feature that was added is, network traffic monitor in statusbar. :good:
Note: I don't have a sailfish so that build is untested, but it should work fine. Please someone give it a try and let us know if it's ok. Confirmed, it's working good on sailfish too.

Is the system mounted r/w on this rom?

ikr, it was read only on the stock rom, immediately went back to Los16 lol
so, it seems as if there are no real game-breaking issues out of the gate?? I'm looking forward to trying this later but was holding off for some more feedback, so far it seems to be pretty positive... one (stupid) question... After flashing this can you easily just flash back to a PIE rom if need be, or once you go Android 10 you can't go back?
yes you can

yep, i did it the other day. went from lineage 17 to 16, with just a data wipe. no issues.
So device personalization services app kept crashing so I uninstalled it
also trying to enable black theme in settings makes settings app crash
Also had the Gmail permission bug thanks for posting the fix ?
Also why was twrp overwritten by stock Google recovery ?
I didn't see a warning about that anywhere in op
Note I did a clean install wiped all partitions but internal storage in twrp 3.3.0.0 before flashing rom and then magisk zip

Can we please confirm if this rom has wi-fi problem or not?
Since my Redmi 7A MIUI 11 is working flawlessly, is there a way to backupit and test this ROM, and possibly revert to backup?
Thanks.

Hi depaul9999
I'm certain you could help with that. I tried the ROM, and didn't have any issue with the Wi-Fi. You could make a nandroid backup in TWRP and then try the ROM to tell us your case.

Thank you jmo707.
I tried it yesterday but I encountered two issues:
-I can compose the number but when I touch the call button it freezes until I restart the phone.
-Google Play store isn't installed by default. I downloaded APK versions of Google Play, and Google Play Services, but nevertheless Google Store keeps crashing whenever I launch it.
That's it : good Android 10 rom but maybe it still needs some improvement, and I can't complain since I was just testing and I probably missed something.

I don't have a clue about the phone issue, but regarding the Play Store not being installed... is that so even if you install Gapps? The only time I had to install Play Store as a package was when I installed gappless roms, with Microg.
You are probably right about the improvements still ahead. We will need to do more testing and give feedback whenever possible, since this is not exactly a wildly popular phone here en XDA and the development has his own rythm.
Thank you I'm sure I installed Gapps after installing the rom image.
my phone bootloops everytime i flash the rom, help please!!!!!!
greetings from sweden
I'm following up to my comment/ask about the wifi issue. I'm sure others have had this issue as well since there is another thread that talks about this (custom GSI).
The wifi problem is based on the boot.img. If you ordered the Global edition of this phone, you may have gotten the EU version. How do you know? My guess is that you'll get the EU charger with US attachment. I ordered the Global version and got the EU one. I, mistakenly, was using the Global boot.img (and patched varieties) to boot it, and it would boot fine. But the wifi would never work. When I reverted to using the EU boot.img, it booted and had wifi working.
For those that want to replicate this: download the STOCK rom from a reputable source (try xiaomifirmwareupdater dot com/miui/pine and getdroidtips dot com/xiaomi-redmi-7-stock-firmware). Mods, please advise if these are not preferred sites for whatever reason.
Once you get the stock rom, unzip it and look for the boot.img file. Make sure it is for your correct version (Global or EU).
Reboot to fastboot.
Run: fastboot flash boot boot.img
Reboot.
Should boot fine, but I think you will need to repatch with Magisk if you use it (in TWRP).
Since doing this, the phone works fine. Let me know if there are any errors in this post.
Any screenshots of the ROM working on the phone?

If you are stuck on boot loop, you can also try the following: First flash "Mokee" Firmware from here https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-7a/development/rom-mokee-source-android-project-t3992763, and then install this rom. IT should boot now.

Perfect smooth ROM. But how to root?
The ROM appears to he bugless compared to the other havocOS 3.0 gsi, only fee things don't work in lineage settings, like immersive mode. But useless tho, you can install any immersive mode apk and it will work fine. Only thing I need rn is a way to root it because the redmi 7a seems impossible to be rooted, I tried to flash magisk it says nit installed in magisk installer although in recovery it says flashed successfully. I tried SuperSU it says binary occupied. Only way I rooted this phone was on mokee os, by flashing add-on su and activating root permissions from developer options. But this ROM doesn't have built-in root which is annoying. But I'm still testing and its so stable so far. Thank you for sharing the ROM
Hi,
I've tried to install the BitGapps provided in the OP, but the message, everytime, says "Incorrect SDK version"
I've not found the BitGapps arm32-64 binder version on the official thread, neither.
Any idea?

Yes, there is no built-in root in developer options so I cannot enable it
Which one would you recommend? Mokee or is it?

Hi to all of you!
Great ROM with all the great looks and feel but as in 7.13 version I am not able to get the mobile data to work...
Anyway, big thanks to the developers for all the effort!

Have you tried manually setting up the APN in Settings?
I was looking forward to this update, Thanks for your hard work!
I'm facing a bootloop problem for some reasons...
I once successfully installed it, but realized NikkGapp didn't use my config, so I went back into TWRP to run it again and use my config.
I didn't realized it at this time (now I know), but TWRP didn't ask for any pattern unlock. The sd-card wasn't detected, so I tried a couple of things to solve it, and this is where it starts to get problematic. I did the sd-card switch from ext2 to ext4.
From that point, I got into a boot loop. I tried to flash the CrDroid rom again, but it won't work.
I then flashed the global original image to start fresh, but TWRP still won't ask for pattern to unlock, thus doing the flashing again didn't work...
Do you have any idea how I can fix it? I'm back on MIUI and I already miss CrDroid

After getting bootloops from installing different roms I learned this: disable the screen lock (Settings->Security->Screen lock->None) before flashing anything. This way TWRP should be able to mount the partitions

Thanks for your help.
I disabled the screen lock, but sadly it didn't work.
I get errors messages such as:
I:File Based Encryption is present

fscrypt_init_user0 returned fail
fscrypt_init_user0 returned fail
Unable to decrypt FBE device.
If your device is not encrypted, decrypting the FEB device will fail.

and
Android Rescue Party trigger! Possible solutions? Either:
1. Wipe caches, and/or
2. Format data, and/or
3. Clean-flash your ROM.
The reported problem is:
'set_policy_failed:/data/system'
Not sure what to do...
I tried changing the data format to ext4, then format it through ADB, didn't work.
My current error message is "init_user0_failed". I also still have the "Rescue Party trigger!" message.
EDIT:
I managed to boot by formatting DATA after flashing, but the OS seems to be missing a lot of stuff.
EDIT 2:
Ok, started the clean flashing process again, still got in bootloop. Tried formatting data again, and it worked!

Thank you for your reply. I did not try changing the APN settings but tried MIUI stable 12.2.6.0 needed for flashing the 7.13 crDroid and it works there out of the box. Maybe changing the APN would work but I gave up and get back to EU version instead, which is ok for me except for custom launcher like Nova since I cannot get around the home buttons appearing/dissapearing when I use gestures with Nova launcher... That was the first thing that led me to trying crDroid

I have the same problem with our COVID app, I simply flashed Magisk, then once I'm in the OS, you can install MagiskHide, it also works for Google Pay on rooted phones. Make sure to clear the app cache when activating MagiskHide, otherwise the message about the rooting will stay.

This was without root. Google Pay and other banking apps and such worked. But a few had some extra checks apart from SafetyNet and such.
I would rather not root and mess with magisk if it could be avoided.
I don't have any need for root and would rather not install too much third party stuff with potential security risks.
Did Google Pay not work for you without root and magisk hide either?
I'm currently using "NikGapps-full-arm64-12-20211227-signed" as GAPP, but sadly, chrome keeps freezing. I'm currently using a different browser. Has anyone a fix for this?

My device is rooted since day one. I don't know how to flash a custom ROM without first rooting.
But yes, without MagiskHide, I couldn't use Google Pay. Haven't found another way to make it work.
