mounted system and wiped in twrp, then flashed rom - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

so i thought i was doing something right by wiping the system partion in twrp before flashing LiteRom, so now the android folder is missing and the phone wont boot past samsung logo. is there any way i can just cope over the stock files/folders for the s3?

Download the latest stock ROM from sammobile.com and flash with Odin.

Flash the latest stock firmware via odin on pc, root it etc, flash the custom rom straight over the top via custom recovery. Never erase anything as it isn't necessary. Any issues just flash the stock firmware via odin and start again.

[Q] (Q) Backup of original "Android system recovery <3e>"?

I want to grab some software off a stock galaxy ace from the same provider as mine. However, before I root it and install CWM, I want a way to revert it to Android system recovery <3e>. Obviously, I cannot back up the stock phone, it's unrooted and has no CWM recovery backup yet, and once I install CWM, it won't have the stock recovery anymore. Any way to get the stock system recovery?

There's no flashable zip or whatever .
All you need to do is to flash any firmware via ODIN

If u flash any stock rom ,u will get your stock recovery back =D
Where can I get a stock rom for the device, though? I can't take a backup to make my own without CWM...I assume I could learn to use Odin with a tutorial somewhere, but Odin can't take a backup, can it?
sammobile.com
Nice site. I don't suppose the Europe or Asia firmwares will work in North America, though? (Canada).

Bit Of An Issue After KP8 Update....Help Anyone?

I updated to KP8 and have found it usable, however I fancied trying some MIUI. Unfortunately I am unable to flash anything with ClockWork Recovery. I initially tried and the update went through fine but the device said something about 'forced upload' after trying to boot. I tried flashing standard Clockwork Recovery via Odin and flashing the ROM again and it just stuck at the boot screen. I have tried a full reflash with MODEM, PDA and Phone with the KP8, KL3 and KL1 firmware. I am able to boot into stock firmware and it runs fine but as soon as I install a custom ROM zip via CWM I simply cannot boot. I have tried with both MIUI and DarkyROM HD zips. I have also tried flashing CWM with both the generic tar and the corresponding CFROOT file for each stock firmware and for each I get the same result. Sometimes it says 'forced upload' when I try and boot back into recovery and I have to flash the whole ROM (or CFROOT file) again to get a recovery back.
Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this problem?
As we speak I am running stock, unrooted KL1 firmware with no problems. I will be able to install CWM and subsequently boot fine but I know as soon as install a ROM through the 'install zip rom sdcard' method in the recovery menu I will just get a boot loop.
Thanks in advance guys.

Clean Slate for those that balls up the firmware .Or need to return to service or decide if its hardware/firmware problem .
Backup data first if phone is working .
Boot CWM recovery
Mounts and Storage
Format cache data system sd card .
Remove battery
Boot to download mode
Open Odin
Install correct stock firmware .
Followed by root and your custom rom .

Rooted i9100 ics rom fail, please help

Hi I have rooted my UK i9100 with odin and successfully installed resurrection remix previously. When trying to flash an updated version I stupidly forgot to factory wipe and now my phone wont boot, it gets stuck on the rom boot screen and i cant get into cwm.
I can get into download mode and from there have tried flashing another rom via odin (litening rom) to see if that would boot to get me into cwm but that freezes on the boot screen also. I tried to use Galaxys2recovery as shown on zedomax youtube channel but then realised that is done from gingerbread only. I tried reflashing "CF-Root-SGS2_XX_OXX_LP6-v5.2-CWM5" via odin and then the litening rom again but that still hangs when trying to boot.
Is there something obvious I should be doing? ..I am (unsuprisingly) a noob
Thank you
you could have asked at the first time itself, before various yourown attempts ?
if you are able to get CWM now, try to install the ROM after data factory reset and all the wipes + system format from Mounts & storage.
if it didnt help again go to CWM do all the wipes and format system, and switch off and get into the download mod and flash a GB stock rom from ODIN

that's the thing, i cant get into cwm, or at least i don't know how to. Is there a file I can install from odin that will put me straight into cwm without having a working rom?
why do you wait to boot the phone to get into the CWM,
didnt you try Vol-up+Home+Power while phone is off

[Q] Is there an easier way to revert back to stock firmware from CM10.1

I'm running the latest CM10.1 nightlies but sometimes I still like to use the stock firmware. Is there an easier way to go about it than having to flash a different 4.1.2 rom/gapps to then be able to flash the Sammy firmware. Flashing direct on 4.2.1 with Mobile Odin leaves the phone in a constant mobile odin flashing loop. Then I have to flash a cwm recovery with Heimdall to get CM10.1 back. I've even tried to nandroid backup Sammy firmware but when in cwm recovery, the files can't be found due to the new folder structure of 4.2.1. As I use Linux I don't have desktop Odin so the only way I can flash at the moment is with Mobile Odin. Is the there an easier way to swap between them?
swap between roms
I believe that some roms accept dualboot.
I know about dual boot and have used it in the past but as of now CM10.1 is not dual boot compatible with the latest Siyah kernel, afaik.

Can't Install Custom Recovery - STuck in Download

Note 3 Running Android 5.01 from Sprint.
I've had both OC5 and OH! (I think is the new one from August)
Both Firmware I try to install CWM or TW via ODIN and its unsuccessful. When I try to get into recovery it reverts to some errors while in Downloading.
Most recent attempt I re-installed stock firmware OC5. Ran OTA upgrade to newest firmware. Used CF to root and again ODIN to install CWM. Still same thing.
What am I missing here?
FYI if I use ROM Manager to install CWM it says its successful but can't book into recovery. It will just loop the bootloader so I have to use Odin to reinstall the firmware.
What ver. Of Oden you using?
Originally I used 3.07 but aftrer coming across this issue I've wiped and reinstalled the firmware and tried again using 1.85. Both versions had no luck.
Try Oden 3.10
Missing root. Try to reroot via odin, and try twrp via odin. If no go...put stock via odin and select nand erase. You may get stuxk on sprint logo when boots, go into recovery and do wipe. The reboot stock will load. Then root via odin, and install twrp or cwm via odin. This fixes all my problems...even when i thought phone was dying
