[Q] theme/bootanimation/software

Just wondering what software you experienced themer's / modders use for working your magic.
Speaking specifically about your drawing / animation type programs.
Example, bootanimations, do you create the animation in something like after effects first, draw 100 pics individually, etc.
Themes, photoshop, paint.net, illustrator, etc.
Asking because if I want to start learning this, dont want to waste my time learning a program that might be harder.
For example would after effects, be a viable product to create bootanimations with?
Just wanted some input from those doing it and doing a great job,
Gadget, mcluvn, zhp pilot, retrokid, you guys post some great stuff, what do you all use.
Thanks?

[Q] Easy way to make Icon Packs without knowledge in coding?

Disturbing question in a dev forum, I know. But I have to try it at least.
Okay, I'm a graphic designer with no knowledge in coding apps. I am able to customize CSS-code to some degree, but maybe that's not relevant.
All I want to do is to make MANY nice icons (which is enough work for my taste), bundle them into one package that is compatible with Nova, Apex, etc., and upload it in Play Store.
Any tools out there that are helpful and easy to use? Preconfigured templates with an UI, maybe?
Or would it be just a waste of time?
Thanks for any advice.

Eclipse, with the Android SDK and plugins will give you just about everything you need to create an icon pack (except the necessary artistic ability :silly: ).

[REQ] Sense 4.5 skin basics

I spend some time to figure out how to handle sense 4.5 skins development. BatEarsJoe give us some advices to modify a skin but these are the very basic steps to build/change a skin. Also I tried to find tutorials on other HTC devices but all I found are obsolete...
What I'm asking for is that somebody (and here I'm asking ckpv5, ayyu3m, BatEarsJoe and other developers too) to give more precisely advices on handle skins.
For example I used 'APK-Multi-Tool' to decompile a ckpv5 rom's skin and I recompiled that again without modification. The result: I lost transparency of dock bar, folders and so on.
So is anyone willing to give some advice about how to handle skins? I mean it is not necessary a step-by-step tutorial (this could take maybe much time), but at least some informations, advices, tricks or some ways to handle transparency, colors, link between m10 files and regular png files. There are more important advices that is about how to manipulate png files, how to preserve/alter alpha channel, compression to use, software to use to handle properly png and m10 files.
I respect guys (mentioned above) who wants to give us more skins but I believe that the development is too slow, so I think sharing information in this area is welcome.
Thanks in advance!
VTS is the way to go (decompiles M10 files fine and does pretty much evreything else for you) alot more of the stuff cant be edited through .pngs instead in Colors.xml and other xmls. The images in mention can be found in m10 files (make sure there the same resolution though - thanks to ayyu3m for that.)
if you wanna use VTS then follow this tutorial http://www.virtuous-ten-studio.com/index.php/other-stuff/94-how-to-create-your-own-sense-skin
It's good to see a more active theme-ing community
Its good to see members who are eager to try their hand at theming. I had started a skin thread in the forum but could not continue cos of png issues during then. But now those issues are gone. But so is my free time since I joined work and its been a busy month.
But hopefully I would surprise you all by releasing my skin and also a tutorial.
As a quick answer...I use VTS and photoshop cs5 only. Will include tips and tricks.

My Themes
Can you provide source of one of your theme. I m actually trying to develop a theme but a lot of elements are not visible in Themer tool. And a lot of elements that are visible in the tool do not show up in the actual phone like the App Drawer button. Help me.

How to edit a global theme?

I downloaded over a dozen themes from Samsung app on my S7, but just a couple of theme change the foreground and background colors of quick settings buttons, which is all I need. But those themes also change dozens of other things which I want unchanged!
How can I create my own theme and edit fore and back colors of quick icons?
Is it also possible to change shape of such icons without rooting?
You create your own themes by learning how. Loads of links here to help you get started. https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=41820200&postcount=2
One help is better than 1 thousand words (or links).
Your post doesn't help at all, it's just a link to a hundred links.
It helps by giving you links to the info you need. We don't spoon feed here. You will have to put in your own work to figure it out.
In the end you will have to make your own theme.
"I don't know" or "I don't want to help you, it's up to you" would have been more appropriate replies and would have saved band and disk space.
If you are looking for hand holding or spoon feeding then you came to the wrong place. This is a developers forum which means no one will really help you until you help yourself first.
My post should help anyone wanting to learn how to make mods and if you really wanted to learn you'd be spending time reading those links to guides and how-tos as well as the OP of the thread they are posted in and asking more questions instead of turning your nose up at those trying to help.
