After reading hundreds of forum posts, watching many youtube reviews, and spending hours of silent contemplation with Buddhist monks, I still can not decide between the Otterbox Commuter, Seidio Active, and the Incipio Silicrylic. They all seem fairly similar, with a few key differences, and since I know many of you have owned at least one of these, I could use your input.
First and foremost the reason I am buying the case is to improve the function of the power and volume buttons. In fact, I switched back to the standard battery from the extended because none of the cases I could find really addressed those button issues. I'm sure they all do a sufficient job of protection, so my main concerns are fit and button improvement.
The otterbox and the incipio clearly show protruded buttons that would appear to help with that situation. Can anyone comment on the seidio's buttons? Also, the incipio seems like its a bit loose. Having held an iPhone with the case on, it didnt feel snug at all. This seems to be the case ( ) with the Rez as well.
In terms of looks, I like the OB the best, but it also seems the bulkiest and I'm not so sure about the port covers. As for the seidio, I've read about peeling finish on the back cover. I'm not sure anyone's had it long enough to have experienced it, but I AM hoping you can weigh in on the camera. The lens looks restricted by the back cover.
The last factor I'm using to decide between the three is the lip around the screen. It should be big enough to protect the screen from a faceplant, but I'm also worried about it restricting the use of the screen toward the edges.
I appreciate any input you have, and I'm hoping others find this information useful in making a decision.

My vote is Seido. I've owned the Otterbox, but not Incipio. As far as quality of the holster, nothing compares to the Seido. Just stronger and seems to last forever. The buttons are easier to use on the Seido than the Otterbox. The Otterbox is slightly less bulky, but it's negligible at best. I have 2 Seidos, one red and one blue. I have yet to experience any peeling from the plastic. I've thrown it in bags, stuffed it in pockets. It just seems to hold up nicely. The lip is nice on the Seido. It's about the same as on the Otterbox but it doesn't inhibit use of the screen like the Otterbox can. The Seido is made really well where you can actually push the rubber aside if you need to get really far over. I was actually afraid that this would stretch the rubber, but this thing has been solid and hasn't stretched at all. I can't say the same about my Otterbox.
Both are amazing cases. I think the Seido looks a lot better once you add in the different colors. The blue is gorgeous and the red matches the phone perfectly. Neither the Otter or the Seido do anything to inhibit the camera. But I would still go with the Seido based on build quality of the clip/holster and the quality of the case itself. Just my 2 cents. Buy it, you won't regret it.
EDIT: I also change my case every day, so it's gone through some serious tests for me. Every time I put my Seido back on, it's like the first time I got it. The plastic is just super strong and the rubber won't stretch. Seriously, I'll never buy another brand of case again if I can help it. (And no, I don't work for Seido )
EDIT 2: Here is my review of a few cases including the Seido Active and the Otterbox. This was before I purchased the clip for the Otterbox, but you get the idea.
And here are some pics of the red one.

+ 1.
The buttons are actually easier to use with the case than without it.
No issues with the camera lens
Great feel. Not too bulky and a solid, tight fit. I have all the confidence in the world that the phone would be protected if I dropped it.
KORM via the beast known as the Rezound.
I'm the opposite if the first reply, had the otterbox, upgraded to the incipio. To me the otterbox was too slick and way too big. It made the rezound bigger than my wife's thunderbolt with an incipio. I do like the port covers on otter box, but I also like to use a car dock, and you can't have both!
The incipio has been great over the two months I've had it. I would reccoment it. On an off easily, and it looks nice. The screen protector doesn't have cut outs for the camera or light sensor (which has no impact for me) but is very robust.
There is a little bit of a stretching if the silicon layer for me, but I use a really tight arm band for running and it pulls on it pretty bad. I don't think it would be the case if I didn't abuse it like that.
You should probably just buy both!

Thanks for the quick responses.
Wasabi I almost just PMd you my questions, what with your previous reviews and all (badass wallpaper, btw), but I thought there might be more people asking the same questions. You mentioned that the power button was still flush. Would you say that its about the same functionality as naked, or better? Like I said...thats basically my #1 concern. Also the camera cutout looks way better in your pics than it does on the Seidio website.
Also Jive, a guy at work said the plastic of his Incipio was really brittle. I told him better that plastic than the phone, but have you noticed any cracking or chipping?
seidio active is the way to go. The incipio case is garbage. It cracked the first time I went to put it on. The otter box is just huge and far too bulky. I'm sure its a good case, I don't have it but my brother in law does. Sometimes the silicon part slips a bit near the top, its like they didn't make a proper fitting mold. I personally think the seidio is the best looking of all of them too. I don't have the seidio case because I use the extended case or I would use it.

Thanks..I had that wallpaper forever The power button is flush, yes, but there's like a cutout for it. I'll post a pic in a second. It's much easier to press than without the case. The volume buttons are muuuuuch easier. So power button naked would be like a 5/10 for ease of use. With the case it's 7.5/10. Volume buttons are like 4/10 naked. With the case they're easily 10/10. And yes, there's no obstruction of the camera with the case. I love this case. It's easily the best one I've purchased for any phone, and I'm kind of a case freak.
EDIT: Here are the pics. You can see what I mean by flush. It doesn't protrude like the volume buttons. But it does have the nice cutout so it's very easy to push. And ignore how dirty the phone is. lol
EDIT 2: You need anymore pics or anything, just let me know. About to leave in a minute, but I'll be back later and can take some different angles if you need me to.
I'm right with Wasabi on this. Had the Seidio since the week it came out. The rating that Wasabi put on the buttons is pretty much spot on. They don't protrude, but make the buttons a lot easier to manipulate than naked. The fit is nice and it looks great on the phone. The lip on the front is perfect for protecting the screen. I have had it get in the way trying to place letters on the very edge while playing words. It will stretch out of the way and springs right back in to place though. I haven't had any peeling or anything on the back. I have noticed the edges of the silicon getting a little glossy. This is to be expected though since I take it in and out of my pocket a thousand times a day! Best case I've had on a phone.
wow, looks like I'm getting the Seidio. Thanks for the help!
Good call on getting the seido, I have the white one and I love it!

Just remember with any of these cases and the camera, you will lose all of your low light capability. The flash ports aren't setup properly so you will have white half images.

Umm, what? Do you own the Seido or Otterbox Commuter case? I've never had any issue with the flash or photos in general ever. What are you talking about?
Never had any picture issues. Flash works fine.
Another +1
No issues at all with the camera.

Just throwing my weight behind the Seidio. I have the gray on gray Incipio and it is definitely looser. (Anyone want to buy it?)
Actually, my favorite is the Seidio Surface (because it will slide into a side leather pouch), but if you're looking for more protection, go Seidio Active. It goes in and out of the holster quite nicely as well.

If you know how big the Otterbox Commuter is, I'll post a pic of the Commuter next to the Active for you. They're closer in size than the Defender and Active are.
I have the little flip case right now, but it doesn't provide much protection. What would be a good flip case for my note?

I bet it does fit, as im pretty sure the discrepancy in size was probably an error in either measurement or conversion between metric and standard units. Every case people have bought for an international note so far has fit the at&t one, even the zenus capsule case, which is hard plastic.
The only things that do not work are replacement battery covers due to the difference in the location of the tabs, which what i linked to is not a battery cover.

I ordered one in red as soon as it gets here (which may be a while) I will verify if it fits the American version
just an update im still waiting in this case It has been over 4 weeks now and still no case
Finally got the case it does fit the American version
I've got this one on the way, http://kevikev.com/Yoobao-Executive-Leather-Case-Folio-for-Samsung-Galaxy-Note-LCSamNoteE.htm. I know someone that got it and he really likes it.

I got my wife the tridea case from ebay, its pretty nice and offers better protection than most flip cases around the sides.
I got this case on amazon. Its the Khomo Executive flip case and I can honestly say that it's by far the worst case that you could spend (little) money on. it offers almost no protection aside from the soft felt stickers on the inside. its made from really cheap hard plastic and only snaps around the edges. after putting the phone in it the for the first time, i set it on a white painted bookshelf. it immediately took white paint transfer barely sliding it across the shelf. Im sure if i left phone in there much longer it would have transferred black scratches to my white Note. It barely closes shut and front flip overlaps the edges too far. Worst of all in the design of this is that it covers the volume key. One drop in this case would probably crack the plastic edges and break the phone. Ultimate fail case!!!

Was that meant to be helpful? There isn't always a correlation between price and quality. Most of us look for good quality at a good price.
I think the case looks nice. It's a shame it is so cheap and unuseful.

That's exactly what I was going for...good quality for a good price. It looked like what I wanted. And that would be a slim tough flip case that could handle a drop or fall and protect my phone. Sadly, this wasn't it, I'll keep trying to find it. I've got a quality case which is my daily but would like a flip style w/o the bulk.

looks nice! Executive and slim?
I know leather would be more scratch resistant but I've always felt the otterbox plastic/rubber was more drop proof!

Yeah. The Executive is all leather. Gives good protection but not as stiff.
The Slim has a hard shell and leather overlay. Better protection but more stiff. The Otterbox is excellent protection but more bulk. Depends on what you are looking for.

Hey confused, I think it depends on what you are looking for.
Yeah, it adds a little thickness, because it is not a "skin". I got it 'cause it is heavy duty drop protection. I love it. I think it gives me better protection than my [big name] drop case, and it was about half the price. And I don't lost the sensitivity of my screen like I did with my other one, cause this one fits with my own screen protector. So my big-name case is going on ebay after trying this one.
If you just want a decorative skin, go for something else, like a "skinit" or a "decalgirl". If you want something to protect your TF, this is the best one I have tried. Since my TF300 does not have gorilla glass, I got this for when the grandkids are using my TF.
I received mine a couple of days ago. Love it.

Thank you for posting the screenshot. I thought it might be flimsy around the edges but it looks like it hugs the device tightly. I ordered one. Should come in the mail today.:good:
No offence but it looks fugly
I Just got mine (black) and its nice. Its thick around the bezel maybe 1/2 inch but its really not bad. It fits snug and does add some weight.all the openings lines up perfect. I like it better than the folding cases, this and a screen protector and your good to go. I dont think it matters what case you have, if you drop your tablet your screwed. But this will prevent scratches and dings for sure
Yesterday my grey one was delivered too. I like it a lot. Finaly i have a good grip on the tablet now. Did you all notice the strap on the back where you can put in your hand so you even have more grip? Very nifty! :good:
For those wondering about cases, thought you might like to see a few pics of it actually on the 920. Overall a good solid case, but I'll probably be switching to commuter once it becomes available.

personal opinion ... terrible!
I recently saw this case at a local AT&T store and could not believe how massive it was. I prefer a minimal case most of the time however I have used a lot of Otterbox Commuters. I may get one for my 920 for those days where I go hiking or doing outdoor stuff.
In terms of quality i disagree, but it does defeat the purpose of having a cool looking phone. I tried the speck case and returned it the same day, as the rubber edge along the screen wasn't completely linear where the volume and power button is located, which annoyed me. it would only have gotten worse had i needed to remove the case a few times. The speck also offered no protection as the edge of the case didn't go above the lcd, so had it dropped, I'd be scared. I seen a you-tube vid out there on the speck, and his rubber edge wasn't linear and he thought he had the case on incorrect. So until my Rubber Skin Soft TPU Gel Case arrives Tuesday, I'm definitely keeping this on as i don't have insurance on the phone. It is slightly too bulky for my standards, and hope my skin soft case provides enough protection so i can make it my primary case for a while, then get the zagg protector. Right now the cases are pretty limited.
For me personally, I buy a phone in large part due to it's appearance. With that in mind, I do NOT like to cover them in protection. My phones normally survive years without being dropped, so I've been lucky. But again, with the Lumia 900, Dropping does not seem to be as much of a concern as with a Galaxy or iPhone as shown in THIS video. Be sure to watch the linked videos of previous attempts to break that same phone.

There was a lot of excess silicone on this case, I had to actually shave it down a bit and cleaned it up myself, I contacted Otterbox anyway and they will send a replacement, I expected a bit better quality for $35. Overall it's what I expected. It's protective, fairly thick but for those days where I need this type of protection, it should work out well.

Wow, I'm really surprised they let that slip through quality control. It's really hard to cut silicone smoothly, and I'm sure they know that. You did a good job for what you had to work with. I'd almost be tempted to send them an email showing what you got, and they might just consider sending you another... I know it will not make much difference, especially now it's installed, but still, you should not have had to clean it up like that. It's not like these are Cheap cases after all.

That's exactly how I figured they'd respond. Yes, they are a great company, and I also suspected it got rushed out the door. When you figure those Hong Kong ebay companies sell similar items for around $2 US, you can imagine there's a bit of mark-up involved in the Otter Box cases. You are paying for the Quality Control, and Customer Service, both of which are normally flawless. I'm glad to hear they are making it right. They will retain/gain a few customers after making you happy. You tell two friends, they tell two friends, etc, etc...

Otterbox Commuter Lumia 920 Pictures
Just got the Commuter Series, and most may think it's ugly, but posting for those inerested. I really like the case giving the protection it provides, and much less bulky than the defender. Just waiting for my zagg maximum body to get here to install that as well. The one thing i really hate that Otterbox does, is the last picture, in my opinion the usb flap opens the wrong way, which bends the grey plastic edge that runs parallel to the bottom LCD and weakens the rubber over time. I may cut that flap completely off to make it easier and keep the rubber edge from weakening. The top flap for the earbuds open the correct way. Overall good protection, but doesn't show off colorful body of the phone. PIcs taken with the wifes Lumia 920.
Also, is there a way to upload pics from using board express or any other forum app? I had to connect the phone to PC to get the pics off , and use my PC to upload these pics.

Also, is there a way to upload pics from using board express or any other forum app? I had to connect the phone to PC to get the pics off , and use my PC to upload these pics.

For me personally, I prefer a nakid phone, but I have to admit, that actually looks nice.
me just waiting commuter series have the color version that match the lumia's
I could not find any reviews of this bumper. I was interested in getting it but I wanted to see if anyone had thoughts about it first.

Not for the S7, but I owned one for my Note5 up until last week, and man was it pretty. I got the Gold bumper to go with my White Note5. I also got a leather skin from DBrand and that phone was so pretty. It was nice quality, and I thought it was worth the cost. I purchased it from a stateside seller from Ebay who imported them from China for half the cost of casefanatic.com. The one thing I will caution is that only the very inside of the Luphie case is protected by a small line of foam, not the inside of the sides (if that makes sense). This means that the actual metal bumper of the phone itself will get scratched, metal on metal, leaving small lines all around the phone bumper. Also, my signal was affected just a little. I suppose that's due to the aluminum covering the antennas.
I don't know that I would buy it again, honestly. It did look very nice for sure. But, I think it takes away from the actual day-to-day function of the phone. I hope this helps!
actually, the brand of that bumper is Ginmic, not Luphie. These are 2 factories, design is the same but different logo.
here is the Luphie one. http://www.ipromarket.com/luphie-ra...er-case-for-samsung-galaxy-s7-edge-g9350.html
Quite expensive but damn, so pretty!
I own a silver aluminium Luphie bumper with the black leather backing for my s7. So far I'm pretty happy with it and it's not given me any hassles as of yet. One thing I was surprised by was the fact that the leather backing was not attached to the aluminium frame and was rather a sticky piece of leather that attaches to the rear glass of the phone. Not what I was initially after but it's been alright so far and it's very adhesive so that's good.
Very difficult to line up the leather backing when you first stick it on so take your time and start from the camera side heading down the phone. The backing makes the phone very grippy on surfaces so it's much safer to leave it on tables and stuff but the aluminium sides are a bit slippery and of course the phone feels slightly heavier. It does look aesthetically pleasing though and I can't fault the built in buttons on the Luphie bumper because they are excellent and haven't hampered the phone in any way.
I ordered them off eBay from a Chinese distributor and with post and packaging they came to $12 each.
Any other questions just ask and I will be happy to help..

How was the signal reception? Has it dropped a bit due to the aluminum?

The signal reception seemed to stay normal. However the GPS was affected and would drop out every now and then when using google maps, waze etc.

When GPS becomes glitchy, what quick fix do you usually do? Has it all been patience or have you discovered any workarounds aside removing the bumper? I could imagine having to switch cases when travelling I would be using a clear bumper case, all else I'd be using Luphie. Just ordered mjne for OnePlus 5t though.
When I realised that it was the case doing it, I was a bit bummed. Eventually I stopped using the case because it was not really simple to remove it each time. The screws make this a slightly more difficult task to do when you need it done on a regular basus. It's a real pity because it's an amazing looking case and I loved the protection it gave. I'm now using an abs plastic/slicon one instead, made by VRS design. No issues with GPS with this one and does the job of protecting everything well enough.

That eventually would happen to me as well I guess. Still holding off order cancellation though haha! I ordered from Aliexpress and the seller has not shipped the product yet. I'm tempted to cancel but there is really no option of enjoying the feel of a skinned phone and a bumper since RhinoShield is too bulky for me I think and they have not released one for the OnePlus 5t yet.
