Install Kingoroot for pc.
Enable USB debugging on your phone and connect it with pc using USB cable.
Open Kingoroot, enable your net connection and click Remove Root button being displayed.
Wait for the process to complete.
By the way, if your concern is that payment apps like Samsung Pay are not working on a rooted phone, why don't you install xposed framework and use RootCloak.
RootCloak is a xposed module which prevents apps from discovering root privileges on a phone.
That's what I did when payment apps stopped functioning on my phone.

Yeah, if you can't unroot it you must flash it. It seem there is no tarball file available yet. Have you try to reflash stock rom using samsung kies?

There's the tar files you flash in odin, full wipe and no wipe. Surge hasn't updated the OP of that thread in awhile so some of what it says is incorrect but the files are still good of course.

i don't prefer to flash files because this may make soft brick or play with bootloader.
the hateful thing in android is the bootloader especially on samsung devices.much sensitive.

It's a tar file for Odin, samsung's own firmware software. Those are the files and Odin is the tool that saves you from a soft brick.

I'm not following you at all.
You want to root. You started with a program (vroot) which is not known to work on Kit Kat. But you think that it's OK, because it's Chinese. Then you refuse to use Samsung signed factory images to recover your phone. Why? Because they're from Japan?
On a clean NC5 build, Towelroot seems to root just fine. Why not use that?

why are you angry like that.
i didn't refuse to use samsung factory images...i have used them many times to recover from soft brick...i have bricked my phone about 5 times..
this happen because play sytem files or build.prop file.
not matter for me if i used factory images from china or japan....iam not japaness or chiness.
my image was clean but only towel root dosen't work for me so i use the two programs...ok
vroot has been updated to work with kitkat if you have the latest version of it...but on some device may not work properly but it can push su file into /system/xbin....thank you.

Angry? No, just confused as I said. You seemed to be worried about running Odin, an official Samsung application to flash factory stock ROMs but don't seem to have any problems running programs like vroot. Maybe the vroot owners have reformed, so maybe it's time to look. However, it seems very likely that they've just tweaked Towelroot, as vroot couldn't root Kit Kat before Towelroot came out. If so, then they should be telling geohot how to make it work on more models rather than diverting contributions from geohot. But then again, they've never been a part of the community. Their choice, of course.
i have runing odin many times to restore/update phone rom.

Hey Matthew!
I have the OF1 and want to root my phone. I have gone to the One Root site and they couldn't root it and refunded my money. I never rooted a phone, but it doesn't look too hard to do for I saw a guy do it on a video using Odin 3 and it took a lot of steps, but it didn't look hard. I never rooted a phone, but I'm freakin' going to. I want my phone back. I keep trying to download all the stuff you guys say to download, but Wondershare is not for Windows 10 and every time I try to download something I can't because it's in a strange file format and my comp is evidently not intelligent enough to open it. Also when I go to download an APK file opener they tell me I need to download something ELSE in order to use the APK file opener and I can't open THAT file. Do you see where I'm going with all this? Is there a place where us folks who have no clue what is going on can get ALL the stuff we need in one place? Or no? There has to be an easier way.
FIRST of all where can I download a file opener that opens ALL types of files? I KNOW one HAS to exist. I just haven't found it yet. Once I get that file opener then maybe the files I download can be opened. After this task is complete I will need to know step by step how to use Odin to complete the root and I will get someone to explain that to me later.
Thanks Matthew.

There is a file explorer on the Google play store called es file explorer. It has opened nearly every file I've downloaded and it supports apks as well. As for a simple one click root, the easiest way to do it for of1 is to use wondershare following the guide in the general section. Now for if wondershare doesn't work after the kernel downgrade then you should try kingroot. Google all about root I believe there is an article somewhere explaining everything you need to know

Thanks for your timely response Matthew. I already tried Kingroot and Kingo Root, both failed after multiple attempts. From what I have been reading people have been downgrading their kernel version back to something that can be rooted. I have Samsung Galaxy S-4 SCHi545 Build number LRX22C.i545VRUGOF1 and when I look at my system updates it says my phone was updated to that particular build on Aug. 24th 2015. When I click on "Show system update history" it says my my software was updated to i545VRUGOC1 on April 30th, 2015. Seems like people are...like you said...downgrading to an previous kernal so they can root their phones because these higher level software updates have non-exploitable features so we can't root these phones.
Now having said all that it looks like I need to downgrade my kernal for even you say I need to try Wondershare after I downgrade my kernal. I've seen videos on downgrading the kernals using Odin 3, but when I tried to download Odin 3 on my comp I couldn't because my comp couldn't open the files that were trying to be downloaded. I will try to download the es file explorer to use. Now this app goes on my comp or my phone because I need to get Odin on my comp to use, not my phone. In other words does Google Play have apps to download to your comps like File explorer?
I've had to do a lot of reading the last two days so I figure out you guys' language and to learn all about rooting. I feel like I am close to my goal of emancipating my freakin' phone out of the hands of TYRRANY!

Odin should download to a zip file which is natively compatible for windows. If you are unable to open zip files for whatever reason you will have to Google how for your certain operating system. When I said es file Explorer I meant for your phone.

How to root samsung device without getting custom binary blocked by frp error

Hey there
I hadd my j5 500fn version for a month its on android lollipop 5.1.1
I tried to root it yesterday and it wasnt that nice
I tried rooting by removing google account and enable usb debugging mode and rooted using the odin method with cf root file
As soon as it finished it rebooted with a yellow "set warranty bit:kernel" message on left top of the device name and it all went fine and root checker said it was rooted and could use all root apps but then i tried adding the google account again and restarted my device and then got the custom binary blocked by frp error
I solved that error by flashing the official stock rom again and then i tried rooting again and got the same problem again
It seems like i cant root with a google account and without it i cant install any google play apps
Any suggestion???

?
The question was whether you have enabled OEM unlocking in the development options. If your phone has this option, it must be enabled for you to load a custom recovery that's used with auto root to root, and then it will flash back the original recovery.

I dont use a guide to do it i just tried this same method on my old j1 and it worked but ut doesnt seem to work here
Here it is:
Remove google account
Enable oem unlock
Turn off mobile and put it on download mode
Flash the cf auto root with odin
Mobile turns on and it root automatically then reboots
A yellow set bit warranty: kernel message in top of the screen
Until now all is fine root works fine and all but as soon as i enter my google account and reboot i get the custom binary blocked by frp error and have to reflash the official rom again to get it to work

Make sure to boot into TWRP before it boots into the OS to flash SuperSU.

[GUIDE] Root Samsung Galaxy J1 Verizon SM-J100VPP

I got this device used and it had been updated to the newest firmware. It would not work with Kingroot, Framaroot, SRS, or Kingo. The only option was to attempt to downgrade to an older firmware with unpatched exploits. The Verizon J1 has a locked bootloader so it cannot flash full firmware packages with older bootloaders. Luckily it can be downgraded to older firmware of the same android version with older kernel. I just had to unpack the firmware and remove the bootloader and repack. I tried to make a rooted stock firmware but can't seem to repack the system.img.ext4 properly after mounting it.
Now let's get down to business
1. Download Odin 3.09
2. Download modified (by me) rootable firmware. Do not rename file it might mess up md5sum.
3. Boot phone to download mode. Hold power+vol down+ home.
4. Start Odin and connect phone with original factory sync cable.
5. Click on the AP button and select the firmware downloaded above. It will check the md5sum automatically when it finishes and passes then press the start button. Once the flash finishes it will reboot.
6. Enable usb debugging.
7. Download Kingoroot for PC (google) and let it run. The apk will not work to root. It should install drivers automatically.
8. Profit!!
I'm testing a method to reliably switch to Supersu but having trouble updating binary 100% of the time. I've tried to flash exposed but Flashfire doesn't seem to work properly with this device. If anyone can suggest a workaround please share.
OP, is it okay if I don't have original factory sync cable in hands?

Yeah its ok you just run into less issues with original cable.
**Working on updating links I have a slow upload speed though.

If u want to switch to SuperSu from KingoROOT, the best and easiest method would be backing up ur phone and performing a soft reset. Afterwards simply install SuperSu, the superuser binary is already installed from kingroot - no worries, just update it normally via SuperSU and disable KNOX after the update is complete.
That switch idea of yours might get you bricked
Confirmed it works now we need a recovery so we can just flash su
SuperSUme works really really well lol, this phone is 32bit only any1 wanna try 4 a recovery?
Thxx bro
I've tried porting a few times from the j100h twrp and keep getting a return to Verizon dealer screen. So I'd assume the bootloader is still locked. Im going to try the old safestrap and see if i can't get that working. But im kinda a noob so I'll do my best.
p.s. Don't try flashing any recovery until you backup your current one with rashr or flashify.BE SAFE.btw I've yet to see supersume actually work but hey it could happen. I'd much rather just flash the su from a recovery.

Agreed about flashing the recovery, but you need to be rooted with KingOroot to get SuperSUme to work, & it helps to just keep the screen timeout turned off thru this process , after it says "complete" I downloaded SuperSU & installed, updated, "disabled" knox, & I can also use flashfire although its pretty worthless for anything other than backups, as the little AROMA shell emulator thingy does run after the verizon logo is showing, which indicates to me yea its locked down pretty solid lol.
I tried Safestrap & it gave me a /SS folder in my /etc so I looked into that but I can't manage to figure out how I should go placing the files to make it work lol. But i do know this thing is 32bit ONLY, so compiling the j100H twrp for instance will NOT flash no matter what we do to the bootloader, it will bootloop since the architecture is for a 64bit SoC, we need someone to compile the j100H twrp in a 32bit only compatible architecture, & then you can easily flash it like cake, & TWRP should do the rest like all other Samsung phones O.O
its gotten to the point these are all the apps I have when i restore haha, if you wanna PM me about working together to get this thing a little more flexible I'm always open to ideas . I only use this thing as a hotspot but would totally like to see a recovery at least make it over & from there I could definitely start the ROM bringup
Will I get bricked by doing this with Verizon

Bruhh, download an app called "Hidden Settings" open it, open "testmenu" or some sh*t like that, & then phone info, then click the top right corner (3dots) icon, then switch ur bands, try hotswapping the sim card, try downloading another carriers modem files, using Hiemendall on a linux box, there are ways, as somebody JUST recently reported this phone booting up T-Mobile just by simply sticking a T-Mobile SIM into the slot .

This is advice from a dude currently stuck in Setup Wizard, using it as a wifi hotspot somehow? ahahahahaha :laugh::laugh::laugh::good:

Okay do you have it rooted bro? I couldn't open my hidden settings app until I rooted with kingoroot, + used root essentials to open it , there may be some build.prop or CSC edits needed to handle other SIM cards or enable the ability to connect to those carriers APN. I have not tried any other SIM cards yet, as I need to fix an LG G2 to have a hotspot lol.

google an app called "Super-sume" & then afterwards, download SuperSu & update the binary using the "normal" method, reboot just to make sure you have the most stable root available,
for the hidden menu download "root essentials" app, open your "device info" there will be yet another link to the hidden menu app, opens like a charm on mine.

forgive me for pushing but are u sure to update binary with supersu? i have read others bricking thier device with the process and as u know we done have custom recovery so no back-ups no stock firmware. have u tried updating the binary with supersu on ur sm-j100vpp and succeed without bricking? thanks so far

You need to specifically google and download from some 3rd party site (i can only find the pro on play store for some reason) an app called "Super-SUme"
And run that, then download SuperSU, I believe the exact version I use is the v2.46 (forced system mode) one but have also downloaded the recent play store release as I literally have to root everytime I want out of setupwizard mode -.-.
No worries bro, like I said you could try the "Root Essentials" app with KingoRoot to just open that hidden menu specifically, I just know it won't open without root access, you may need to mount /system as RW even? I do these all by default so forgive me for not being a little more detailed lol.
I'm around if u hit any snags.

I'm still unsure of how well you know a TouchWiz setup, but I think you can tell the issue with everything is the locked down bootloader & the fact that it booted T-Mobile instead of VZW, is very weird, personally I'd love some logs to see if there's any difference in the loader, because it obviously knew when it was rooted LOL
