Well I got my Titan for a penny so I'll be selling it and buying that the moment it comes out....
*grumble grumble*
How about you guys?

Sorry a non replace able battery kills it for me, also I like the metal shell.
Titan II
I had a feeling that Titan II was going to come. But if the only difference is a 16meg cam and LTE it's not very exciting also since the battery is not replaceable. I dont know why people are so gun ho with having super internet speeds on a Phone. I'd be happy if they got 3G speeds (aka 4G on AT&T) working correctly.
I wonder when they where doing the show and tell at CES on the Titan II if the phone did a random power cycle like my Original Titan and the replacement Titan I have now. Ha!
Seeing that the titan's speeds are definitely throttled, and 4G is really just H (or might as well be), trading up seems like a good idea. I have had good luck with my HTC batteries, so I'm not too worried about that. Got my titan in the penny sale, I no reason not to sell it and trade up.
Also, non removeable back means the antenna issues will be permanently solved, and I'm sure the titan II will get a fix for the noise cancellation before the titan
Not being able to take the battery out is a deal breaker for me. I just watch all my friends with iOS devices always looking for some place to plug in when we are traveling.
I just pop my Amaze replacement battery in and I am off to the races.
I will personally wait for the multi-core and W8 kernal.
I was definitely looking at purchasing an extra battery for my Titan. I didn't have one for my Focus, and there were times I wished I did. However, I would definitely love to have an LTE phone. 5x speed for the same price I'm paying for data now sounds good to me.
As for throttled speed, I did several speed tests and got 5-6 Mbps and as high as 7 Mbps on my AT&T Titan using the Wi-Fi tethering and a laptop. I don't think they are throttled so much as the antenna on the Titan sucks and HSPA drops off quick with signal degradation. In fact, my only major complaint with the Titan is the antenna performance. I have to wonder if that's fixed in the Titan II.
Hmm, I have several phones so when one dies I used to just pop my Sim card in another one.
Recently, I bought a portable battery pack so I just charge my batteries from that. It's 12AH or so. Never again gonna waste money on spare batteries for each and every phone I get...
I was debating on getting a portable battery pack, but wasn't sure how well/fast they worked. Which one did you get?

I got the Newtrent IMP1000
There are some up to 20AH or so, but after looking through many reviews I settled for 11.1AH, because a lot of the reviews were saying the bigger ones were melting or otherwise breaking down in some fashion. Mine is only 2-3 months old, and I've only charged it 3 times, so the capacity is just fine for me, and it doesn't look like it's going to die any time soon.
Charges your device as fast as a USB charger. Mine is 5V 1A output, but there are models that support up to 2A output (for iPad and other). Since I only have one device that uses 2A I didn't think it was worth getting. The battery itself charges at 2A 5V input, and takes about 8 hours to charge (I remember when AAs took 8 hours to charge...)
It comes with a USB plug that has several interchangeable heads (microUSB, miniUSB) but I never really use them. I bought a nice backpack, packed up the battery, all necessary cables and my old phones, my laptop and laptop gaming accessories and I keep it in my car (it doesn't charge the laptop, to be clear. USB out only). I could go for weeks without an outlet , just hope my car never gets stolen.
Here are the ones I compared

I think HTC shouldn't have named this device as the "Titan 2".
Because it only has a better camera/battery and of course 4G LET;on the other hand,it's thicker and the backside has less aluminum and more plastic(Compared to Titan 1)
True. XDA thinks it should've been called the Titan LTE and I agree. It would better clarify the 4G product choice and also show it's an incremental upgrade.
Sent from my HTC Titan PI39100 using Board Express
I expected better from HTC
I figured that HTC would have done a lot better, after reading though the thread here, I'm not very impressed and now even HTC is going with the un-removable battery!
I guess it's a good money maker for the providers and manufactures, if anything goes wrong with it, just get a new err well with ATT it's a used replacement phone. Regardless of owning it for 90 days or 1 yr, their policy is after 30 days and the Phone wiggs out on ya, you get a used replacement.
Well you do have the option to send it in to ATT to get it repaired, but then you have no phone unless you have a backup phone. I when through this issue several years back with Razer Flip phone came out, I ran in to problems with key pad separating in certain places and not others on the phone, I had no choice but take a used replacement.
And when that one also had the same issues, I just gave up and got my HTC HD2 T9193 and just upgraded the rom, I think I will just stick with what I have and fall for all the glitzy hype.
We have owned my wife's S6 Edge Plus for 48 hours or so now. Last night before bed she had around 85% battery life so she just laid it on the table. Woke up this morning and it was completely dead(not the battery), as in would not power on, would not respond to being plugged in, like a bricked phone dead....
We did the volume down/power combo and it booted into recovery, told it to boot normal, and it works fine.....
Several hours later, it was just hanging out in her purse for a couple hours, she takes it out, same thing again.....
Also when she tries to use the Samsung Wireless chargers we got as the promo deal from Best Buy, her Edge Plus will charge a few minutes and then the charger starts blinking blue and her screen comes on and it stops charging. Tried with the Note 5 we got same day, tried both identical new Samsung chargers, charging issue follows the Edge Plus every time. It charges fine when plugged in.
Wondering if this is isolated or not. Figured not since the S6 Edge had the same "SOD" issue based on a quick Google search. Don't want to go through swapping with Verizon if they all have the issue. If a software fix is coming it's better to wait than swap devices for another defective device.
Also to note we purchased a new Note 5 at the same time, it has had no issues at all.
Cliffs:
. Bought new Verizon S6 Edge Plus and Note 5 yesterday
. S6 Edge Plus has trouble using Samsung wireless charger(got two new from Best Buy)
. S6 Edge Plus randomly shuts off and has to be booted into recovery
. Wait for a software fix or make Verizon swap out hardware?
If a factory reset doesn't do the trick, take it back there's something wrong with it. Have had mine for 3 days now and no problems.
I have the same problem with the wireless charger. Came here to see if anyone else did.
Skizzy034 in my googling both issues I mention here have been experienced in the regular size S6 Edge as well, so for this "generation" of hardware these aren't new issues. Just new to us I guess lol. We have a 14 day return window. I'm just trying to figure out if it's a common hardware issue in which case I would return it, or a common software issue that will be fixed soon.
The wifi started being sporadic, it would disconnect and reconnect all the time. As a result my wife who uses like 250Mb a month had a one day usage of 1Gb. No idea how. We took it to Best Buy and the Samsung rep reloaded the software. Couple days later, screen of death twice in one day. Wifi still sporadic. Wireless charging seemed to be fine now.
Exchanged for a Note 5 and it's been rock solid.
It is with a sad and heavy heart that I must state that my G3 died tonight while I was using it. It just shut off unexpectedly while it was charging. This was the first time this has ever happened. I can get it to turn on briefly, and then it shuts off again but there are also times where it just doesn't respond.
If I remove the battery and plug it into the charger, usually the battery with a question mark would show up to state the battery was missing. It won't even do that. That to me signals it has finally died. I'm going to miss this phone. Funny how it died the month that my 2-year-contract was up.
I'm looking at probably the Moto-Z Play Droid. I used to like Motorola products. This one has expandable storage, which is great. Hate that it doesn't have a removable battery though. But, it will bring down my monthly fees by about $3. But it sucks because my bill would have dropped $20 a month since the G3 was off contract.
I want to thank everyone who helped me through the past two years with everything here. That is especially @bweN diorD and @roirraW "edor" ehT.
Farewell fellow G3 users! We might meet up again some day.
Sorry to hear about the catastrophic failure! Take care, good luck, and hope to see you around.
happened to me also but plugging the cable while holding up button after reinserting battery got me into download mode but there was nothing on the screen same like you. after that i flashed 10b tot and it is working again. you can give it a try.
That's horrible to hear, I have been reading your and the road warrior posts as I am new to the LG G3 and your are a helpful person!!
I got my G3 off a friend as it was hard to find a non K model on swappa. I came from the horribly locked down CID 11 GS5.
Thanks for the posts you left and the responses you gave me in my short time getting acquired!

My condolences on your loss
If you're going to sell it please let us know. If it's not repairable it can parted out
& Good luck with your new gear. Hopefully the dev community is strong for whatever you decide to get :good:
It was a hard decision between the Galaxy S7 and the Moto Z. Moto Z pulled me over because it was pretty close to pure stock Android. But four things pushed me the S7:
Moto Z has USB-C, so that means I have to get all new charging cables for the car, etc.
No headphone jack. Sorry, this is a biggie. Yes, the Moto Z comes with a USB-C adapter to use headphones, but nope. Plus, my car doesn't have Blue Tooth, so I need the headphone jack.
What was a selling point was a negative for me: the add-on. Expensive, limited to the Moto Z, and stuff I really didn't need. Plus, even though they promised it would work with later models, we all know how that goes.
One more was the camera. Comparisons between the S7 and the Moto Z were no contest. The S7 takes WAY better pictures.
Of course, when I got to the store, found out I got a free Samsung VR Gear from Oculus! Awesome! Didn't even know that would happen.
As for my G3, it's toast. It just won't start up at all, so it's definitely a hardware failure. I can't even get it into download mode to try and flash 10b back on it. So, the phone has died.
It was a fun two years that I was here. Learned a lot and will miss a lot of you, but many of you have also moved on as well.
I'll lurk around still and help those who are seeking assistance with their G3s.

Yeah, I tried this. It goes into DL mode but after 30 seconds, it shuts down before I can do anything, so there is definitely a hardware failure going on. I've reseated all the connectors on the motherboard and that didn't help.
The phone is toast. Loving my S7 though right now and the free Samsung Gear VR I got with it, along with the $10/month monthly payment with no trade-in option they had over over this past weekend. That came along at the right time!
Take care fellow G3 users. May your phone last longer than mine (about 2 years). I loved the G3 and what it offered. I was even happy with it on stock.
I won't be doing anything with my S7 either other than disable some bloat (which there really isn't that much on here like the G3 has). Looks like there is a Nougat beta going on, but I'm going to stay away from that after the nasty experience I had with the 49A OTA. Might be that it didn't cause my G3 to fail, but it sure was quite a coincidence!
Try a new battery. I had a battery go bad. It's a cheap fix.

Not sure it's the battery and I've already replaced the phone. I might take it into the battery store and see if they'll let me test it with a new battery before I purchase one. Would be interesting to see if it works or not. I did try to flash it back to 10g and it got interrupted in the middle of it, so it's probably in BULK mode and right now, I don't feel like taking it apart to expose the connectors to "short" it out. Did it once, but now that I have an S7, not sure if I want to mess with it right now. But, I'll hold onto it until I'm ready to try a new battery in it.
I had a problem with my phone 8 months back . I went on craigslist and bought another used. I was lucky it had not taken an update. I rooted it without having to go back and tot it. . even better I took the battery out and put it in my old one confirming the battery was bad. now I have a backup and another battery was less then 10 bucks. hope it's your battery. I don't recall the symptoms just it wouldn't boot up full.
My experience (2 phones - mine & wife's) was that a dying batter swells up and can cause collateral damage to the phone. This happened first on my phone after about 18 months; I could see a gap where the screen was pushed up away from the bezel. At the same time a 5mm or so strip at the top of the screen became unresponsive to touch. New batteries are (were?) only $15 from LG. That fixed the bulge problem, but the touch problem remained. I got a used phone off FleaBay (was in excellent condition) for a bit over $100. About 3-4 months later, my wife's phone started to show the same bulge in the screen. New battery solved the problem; fortunately no other damage. Her phone is a bit newer than mine, so the failure was at about the same point in the life. Admittedly we're hard on batteries because we routinely stick the phones on the wireless charging pad overnight, and they tend to stay warm.
My old phone has been relegated to Pandora player duty. I don't see any thing in a newer phone that I need, and few have wireless charging and/or replaceable batteries. I'll probably keep swapping in new batteries every 12-18 months and keep them going as long as possible.
I have been very happy with my G3 over the past two years. My GF and I each have one, so we are compatible for batteries and charging, etc.
I have recently been wanting something newer and different, but without a lot of justification.
I was looking at the G6 from Verizon, $480 on plan, which is nice. But, that would have forced me off my OG Unlimited plan, which would then cost me at least $20 more a month.
I decided to try the HTC U11, since it is bootloader unlockable and they swear that the Unlocked version also works on Verizon CDMA. F'n better work.
G6 might have better screen. U11 has better camera and 2x storage @ 64GB. Hope I don't miss swappable batteries.

I'm waiting until October for Pixel 2 most likely. It would be nice to have an unlocked phone that gets support from the manufacturer in a timely manner. Plus, no Alexa and possibly a headphone jack.
I'm actually pretty sold on Alexa. I have two Echo Dots and a ton of WeMo devices, thermostat, security, etc.
I wanted the Alexa integration, to be honest.
Just wanted to give an update. S7 is still going strong on Nougat with no issues. Battery life is good for me (except when I play games which is most of the time ) and performance is great. Definitely better than the G3, but I really had no issues with the G3 performance-wise, but I can tell a difference in response on certain apps/games.
Still miss the G3 and wish I could have made it work, but it has since been retired to the recycle bin. :crying:
Now in my family, my oldest daughter and my wife have S7s as well. My daughter was the first to get it. Then me. Then my wife. Our other daughter has an iPhone 7s. Tried to get her to switch to Android, but she does have a lot wrapped up in her phone as far as music, apps, etc. Plus, she as an Apple Notebook, so in many respects, it all works for her. I just hate when she has issues with it not backing up photos and such correctly. And same with her music and trying to get it off the phone. One of the major reasons why I never went to an iPhone after seeing all the issues my daughters had with their iPods so many years back. That pretty much told me to stay away if I can't easily backup up music and files from my phone.
Hello all,
I'm currently at a loss and wanting to know the opinions of others who have had this phone.
I am currently on my fifth replacement V10 from Verizon. Each replacement I've received has had some issue (overheating, severe image retention, bootlooping, extremely poor reception, etc). However, this one seems to have completely bit the dust.
I received this replacement a couple of weeks ago and everything worked fine with it. The other day, the battery died while playing Pokemon Go and when a guy in our group tried to help me charge the phone, it just showed a screen with the battery and a blinking strike-through (seen here: http://i.imgur.com/2mRJLVA.jpg and http://i.imgur.com/xjeHpna.jpg). After several attempts of getting it to charge, I finally gave up and went home to charge it. After trying the wall charger, a PC, and two battery backups, I was met with the same result. I took it to Verizon, which they promptly told me to kick rocks and that there was nothing they could do for me. They didn't offer a replacement due to a hairline crack on the screen.
I bought my friend's old V10 off of him for now and it seems to work, however it's having some battery issues as well (The phone can't keep a stable reading on battery life and it seems to power off on its own/dies randomly). After charging the battery in his phone, I placed it in my old one and was able to get the phone to boot, but after a minute it shuts down stating "Invalid battery". I've tried three different batteries, factory reset, and clearing the cache with no resolution. The phone will not shut off if it's in the middle of a factory reset, so it seems to maybe be OS related? Photo here: http://i.imgur.com/HBQIO9P.jpg
Currently, I'm stuck with the phone until I pay it off. I'm also unable to get another replacement unless I shell out the $150 for the insurance deductible. I'm kind of at a loss as to what to do, as I've already invested too much money in trying to get a properly working phone. I don't think I should keep paying for a phone that I cannot get to work properly. Has anyone had this experience with Verizon before? What is the best option for me at this point?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Bump. Anyone?
I had this problem just today, got the phone below 15% and when I plugged it in to charge, it said that I had an invalid battery which was odd since I didn't even replace the battery and was using the original one that came with the phone. So tried different solutions same as yours but what really worked for me was cleaning the contact points of the battery and the contact pins of the phone, after that, plugged it in and haven't had the error anymore. Will update though if it occurs again. Good luck!
Buy a new one. NOT THE PHONE!
I read your story as if it is bound to happen to me.
My LG V10 has after (approximately) 9 months been giving up on me. It turns off immediately if the battery gets below 15 percent or 5 percent.
I never had this issue to be honest. I never had any issues with LG phones, to be honest. they always worked fine. I got my G2 still lying around which works just fine (regarding battery, not the random freezing).
So you see I'm quite satisfied with LG. But I did get to a point where I had to say: no more LG. not because they are bad. but because there is always A problem which I don't truly mind. yet it is still a problem and my investment of 4 to 500 dollars should give me better.
To give you a quick answer. I bought a replacement battery for my LG v10 from online retailers. try those replacement batteries. they are around 20 dollars. if the same issues persist then it is indeed the motherboard. Nothing to do about that.
I wish you all the luck!
invalid battery fix
Lg mobile check validity by 2 method 1st by allignment of pins 2nd by different values of voltage from the terminals which make the battery irregularities thus to resolve the issue simply discharge the battery by using some motor or some other appliance and also with the help of a wire, short the connectors of terminals on mobile when battery is not inside mobile so that if it has any voltage for storing record of previous error data should be removed. Now put the battery in back and charge it through mobile. Mobile ahould be turned on and from my previous experience the mobile should not do the same invalid battery again. In my case i also clear cache when mobile turned on.....best of luck....
I have just experiencing this problem on my LG V20. I open the cover back, and see that battery swells. I replace the battery then the phone's started normally.
Battery (current and new ones) last minutes to an hour. Phone turns off or reboots with 50-100% charge. Phone no longer powers on with fully charged batteries.
So, just looking for any suggestion on a sub $50 phone that uses it's Mini-sim, has great battery life and performs normal features (phone/text/browsing) without lag. Not looking to custom rom/modify this one xD. Appreciate any replies! Also I'm using AT&T prepaid service (it's way cheaper than their contracts).
EDIT: Ended up getting LG Phoenix 3. Weird shape and power button, couldn't tell from box. Just needed a cheap android. Hope it doesn't suck.
I would've gone with another Samsung, like the s4 or s5. LG phones are pretty good though.
I went with a $50 LG Phoenix 3 from walmart... performs adequately but haven't found how to root it yet :"( $30/mo +tax unlimited everything (haven't noticed network slowdown after data cap from 4g)
Some phones that come from Wal-Mart aren't rootable like the Samsung galaxy J3 luna pro. Yours might be one of the unrootable ones.
