I just got an "Engineering Prototype" of a phone that looks like a Cliq XT.
It worked fine when I got it - as far as I can tell, it had a stock 1.5 installed - no Motoblur-Rom.
The guy that owned it before didn't delete all of his personal stuff so i decided to do a factory reset. Turned out to be a bad idea
When I try to turn on the phone I can see a Motorola-Logo for about 1/10th of a second. After that the screen turns black (it doesn't turn off, the backlight is still on).
Pressing the Camera-Button whil turning it on leads me to a little menu:
- Volume up -> "USB Flash Mode" (That seems to work)
- Volume down -> "Recovery Mode" (That does not seem to work since the screen goes black when I try that)
I installed the USB-Drivers provided by Motorola and tried to connect to the phone via RSDlite - nothing seems to work
Is there any chance to get this baby back to life?
Disclaimer: I'm not a tech person. I managed to root/unlock several devices and installed custom recoverys and custom roms to several of my phones. I don't know that much about the stuff that makes Android going. That means that I can click buttons if i have a red arrow pointing at them...
Almost a year has passed - guess it's ok to push the topic once
ya i know this phone is outdated but i am now having this same problem with my cliq xt. flashed different firmwares with rsd lite but everytime it stucks on motorola logo and doesnt boot in recovery . it only boots in bootloader usb init. So is that a hardware problem in my phone or software? and is there any possibility to unbrick or repair it ? any help would be appreciated.
I do not think it's hardware related. Guess we both bricked our Cliq for good
Before the incident, I had root, no unlocked bootloader, stock JB, v20h.
What had happened was I was trying the Font Installer app in th Play Store because of the added customization that would have been nice.
I found a cool font, and I backed up my current fonts and then pressed install. SuperSU asked for permissions like normal and then my phone restarted.
Then it was so that my phone was stuck at the T-Mobile boot animation after the LG Logo. For about 15 minutes. This is where I believed something was starting to go very wrong. After contemplating for a few extra minutes, I decided to just take out the battery and restart. Same outcome. I thought of all the things that were on the phone thus far because I had just gotten it recently, and decided that it wouldn't hurt me to just do a hard reset by pressing home + vol down + power. Everything went smoothly. Except for the fact that even after I did that, it was leaving me at the T-Mobile screen.
I decided to look on the forums for development and tried to do the unbrick method, to no avail after about 3 hours now. I used the LG User Support Tool and since I hadn't updated to V20f, I decided to do that to see if it would solve my problem. It still didn't, and I'll be honest, I'm a little upset just typing this right now.
I also tried the Upgrade Recovery option and it warmed my heart to see that the process was actually starting. But right at the screen where it says that it is supposed to be downloading something, it freezes up and nothing happens no matter how long I wait. I saw somewhere that it should be a glowing red bar, but I do not see that anywhere, it is just frozen, saying Time Elapsed: 00:12. And before anyone asks, yes, I ran absolutely everything as an administrator.
Is there any possible way to bring this phone back? Any help would be immensely appreciated. Thank you in advanced.

did you hard reset? then turn off your phone disconnect the battery, connect to the pc holding the volume up button? then try the Update Recovery?
i would just go through that process over and over until it works, theres not really a way to brick this phone i've heard...

Thank you for your reply! I have tried hard resetting multiple times, but I had removed some bloatware apps (I will quarantine them next time instead because I don't wanna go through this ever again) and I have tried the kdz method to only be stuck at 15% every time when I followed instructions to the pixel. I have tried to do it on windows 7 and windows 8. I have also tried the fastboot method by lelus, and that manages to "work" but I am still stuck at the tmobile boot screen afterwards. I have gotten the hang of the process of getting into the fastboot, but what do I do from there? I chose to flash ics xloader and uboot, but the process goes by so fast, I'm not even sure it is doing anything. The LG Tool has really gotten me nowhere, it just gives me a lovely error and then cannot continue the upgrade recovery process.
It said somewhere that after I flash through the fastboot I then have to try the kdz method, so I am going to do that now and see if it works. I don't know if there would be a difference between flashing a jb kdz or an ics kdz, but I will just do ics to be on the safe side.
I am quite happy to say that flashing the ics kdz was successful, and my phone is now up and running.
My p769BK is stuck on the LG screen. /: months
Sent from my LG-MS770 using xda app-developers app
im terrible with fastboot, i used the unlock the bootloader for noobs with an offline flash.
heres what i did to get out of bootloops....
alright, this is all from memory but the offline flash didnt work as well for me when stuck in weird bootloops.
Step one-going back to online flash---->
A---
the easiest way i found was to go to C:/windows/system32/drivers/ect/hosts
right click>open with notepad
there should be two lines at the bottom
"127.0.0.1 csmg.lgmobile.com
127.0.0.1 csmgdl.lgmobile.com"
i would cut them out and paste them in a text doc in the same folder for reference later...
but either way you should remove them from the hosts file and save
B----
Make sure your small server is closed! once you minimize it it should go down to your status bar (shttps)
Step two-LGMS---->
make sure you have LG mobile support installed or install it.
open lg mobile support
install needed drivers for your phone
power your phone off/remove the battery
put battery back in
connect it to your computer holding down the volume up button
S/W UPDATE mode should pop up, if it doesn't preform and hardreset and try again til it works (it will)
then in the top right corner there should be a button or two click them both until you see
"restore update" or Update restore or something to that effect
select that
and let it ride man
i got my phone ****ed many times and just had to keep redoing this until it worked. if your bootloader is truely unlocked you can probably go through all that again and get CM10 working, i did but im still working through kinks.....
GOOD LUCK feel free to ask any more Q's about this process if you run into any problems
Tip: TLDR at the end
I own an LG-E460 since August-September 2013 and I still think the only reason that I have to get a newer phone is because of Android 4.1.2 and the limited amount of apps that support it nowadays.
That is until yesterday.
I was checking out some features on ROM Toolbox (my phone is rooted but with stock ROM and stock everything else) and I noticed this cool feature: you can change the status bar icons.
It said it was just changing some PNGs and I thought "What could go wrong? Maybe my icons will get f...ed up, and I backed up anyway so I can just restore the old files!".
Well (not so much :C) it turns out I was wrong. A lot!
I change the WiFi icons, restart System UI and it keeps giving me pop-ups saying that System UI has crashed and the phone was unusable because when I tapped OK the thing would reappear right away.
I restarted the phone removing and re-inserting the battery.
The phone doesn't get past the boot animation.Crap
I tried connecting it to a laptop with an USB cable but Windows installed the drivers, the phone charges up but it doesn't show up even in the LG Mobile Support Tool, I could try with my desktop (I am installing drivers and setting up stuff since I recently updated to W10 so I prefer to use the laptop while it does its thing).
I wasn't able to get the phone to boot in any of the advanced "modes" using online guides, and I don't have much experience with messing with advanced stuff on phones anyway (I once had to get into recovery mode for a friend's Galaxy ace for...reasons but that's not like I know anything about phones, really it's just that I'm the "tech guy" among my friends and sometimes they call me to fix their stuff and I at least have to give a shot at helping them, even if my knowledge of phones is pretty limited).
TL;DR: phone stuck in bootloop because I tried to change a status bar icon, need help!
If you can't understand some of what I wrote you can ask, I'm sorry but I'm Italian and we are terrible at English
Hi, you can search in Google how you can restore your LG L5 II E460 with Kdz.
I also tried to install Chainfire 3D on my E460 but my phone stucked on LG logo.
Then i searched in Google and i restored my device!
Okay so my phone randomly rebooted 2 days ago and when it got to the LG logo screen it froze. I tried to hard reset it, i went in to the hard reset menu clicked yes once then confirmed the hard reset by selecting yes a second time and the phone froze on highlighted yes. I have pulled the battery and tried to do this multiple times to no avail. So next i went to my PC and started google searches. Often i found things such as being stuck in boot loop which my phone wasn't, it was just frozen at the LG logo screen. Regardless I like to think of myself as self educated tech savvy (which now from reading all of your posts im not, im not even a little bit, in fact im tech stupid.) I did follow post through to the LGUP tool and downloaded a stock KDZ and got my phone into download mode>firmware update screen, i was able to get al the correct drivers and get LGUP to recognize the device and i loaded the stock KDZ and tried to do a Complete wipe reinstall. The program as able to interact with my device and went through the process, i thought i had fixed my phone. After a fresh install(or what i thought was a fresh install) i rebooted after the update and went to the LG logo screen and froze. The only difference is now when my phone starts, right before the LG logo appears i get the green android robot with what looks like open working "guts" real quick before it goes to the Logo and freezes. So back to the drawing board and i wanted to attempt some of the things ive seen like TWRP recovery etc but here i am getting lost. Forgive me if im posting things that have been answered but i keep getting confused. I dont know what the difference is between fastboot boot loader recovery mode or any of that is. also i kept noticing time and time again that my phone has to be in USB debugging mode and i dont know if it is. I cant turn my phone on to get it into USB debugging mode now anyways. Im okay with my warranty being voided and im okay with rooting if thats what i have to do to make it work. I have installed ADB and fastboot and some twrp recoveries etc but im clueless. Lastly know that i never Rooted my phone or anything but i was a torrent downloader. forgive me im triyng to provide as much information as possible.
PLEASE NOTE - I had to sign up to post here obviously and i loved how it said if you have an IOS go buy an android and come back LOL

This is an interesting issue, and I'd love some insight on it. I have an LG G3 D850 with ATT and I was running Cyanogenmod 5.1.1 all fine and dandy until I didn't charge the phone in time, the battery hit zero, the phone shut down and from there it wouldn't boot properly, it was stuck at the LG logo. TWRP no longer worked either, and EVERYTHING on the phone became extremely slow, and I don't mean like it's a program doing this, I mean the phone itself is acting slow. I have a v10d TOT for this and I've tried the proper d850flash dll and the lgup dll, but no success. Upgrade DL brings me to where I was before with the phone failing to boot as it stays at the LG logo, but I tried Board DL and it brings me to my current issue, AAT - Mini OS 3.1. I'm stuck at this screen and it won't take user input. I click "OK" on the prompt "Auto touch test don't touch anything on the screen!" yet nothing happens. I've tried holding volume down while touching ok, and I've tried holding the power button while I touch ok but it's not taking any input. I don't necessarily need this phone to run stock OS but I need it to be functional, this is a very unique problem that I don't see anyone asking about, so I'm making my own thread because I'm sure I won't be the only one with this problem. Thank you for taking the time to read this, all the best.
