i have tried many different instructions on how to port a rom. i have the stock rom of my device and i have the rom i want to port. my stock rom uses spflash tools to gain root. and flash custom recovery. but the port files in the zip file has far less items . in my stock rom it has everything in img files its got
MY STOCK ROM for BLU_S0130UU
boot.img
boot verifired.img
recovery.img
recovery verified.img
ramdisk-recovery.img
ramdisk.img
secro-verified.img
secro.img
system.img
chache.img
lk-verified.bin
lk.bin
and the port rom
touchwiz s6 mtk6753
boot.img
system folder
meta-inf folder.
thats it
anyways i have tried to follow the word for word of the how to port a custom rom .
but cant seem to make it work.
when i install the zip with twrp i get error 6 i think its got to do something with the metadata file and the build prop. but im lost at this point.
both phones are identical chipset mt6753 both kernel are 3.10.65 and pretty much all idectical specs.
if i give the 2 roms to someone do you think you could try to make this work for me.

Hello guys I have Alcatel One Touch 918n. I was trying to make a custom rom for the device. It is an armv6 device running on Android 2.3.6 . But for complete building and tweaks I need full stock rom which is not available on internet. So I decided to use cwm backup. I have a cwm v5.0.2.8 port for my device but I think it does not properly image the boot.img. as far as I know boot.img has zimage and ramdisk folder. Ramdisk has many tweaks associated with it. But my boot img contains zimage but no ramdisk. Also if I restore the boot.img it causes bootloop. So everytime I have to use advanced restore and restore all other img separately. Any solution so that I can fix the boot img
Hello there,
I accidentally flashed a wrong boot.img with sp flash tool. I can still acces CWM based recovery. I do not have a ROM or boot.img backup and was unable to find either one online. The phone is an Alcatel one touch 916D, since Alcatel is open source, I downloaded the source code something.xz file (sourceforge.net/projects/alcatel/files/OT_991D_20120718.tar.xz/download), it should be possible to flash this to my phone using Odin right? I tried so, but Odin does not detect my phone. So I was wondering, is it perhaps possible to extact/create a boot.img from the source code file I have? I unzipped it and there are the folders kernel, mediatek and webkit. I have not found a boot.img anywhere in the files. I hope someone is able to help me.
thank you,
Jeroen
PS: If someone has the boot.img or can extract it from his/her phone that'd be even better

I have someone's phone with the same problem.. Were you able to get a scatter file, a kernel (boot.img) and a system.img? He wasn't modifying the phone, just using it and it just boot loops. If I had the phone when he bought it I would have backed up everything.

I don't know if this is too late but there you go : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64659997&postcount=16
Hi ,everyone ,
I'm sharing this recovery , ported by Syed Ahmed Ali Shah (All credits to him)
How to install:
Download Spflashtool and recovery zip file
Extract the zip file , you will find the recovery.img + scatter file
Open Spflashtool , and load that scatter file.
The recovery should appears now (in spflashtool , it is supposed to be chacked/selected)
Choose download only and press on download button
Turn of your device ,and plug it in
wait till the succes mark appears
unplug you're device and boot directly to recovery
the recovery will ask you t allow system modification , don't allow for now ...because this will brick (not really,it will stops at logo, can be fixed by rooting it) you're device..
Rooting the device :
Now that you have the recovery ,Download supersu.zip file and flash it with that recovery...
Backup your firmware before rooting/ allowing modification
I'm not responsible for any damage that could happen , do it at your own risk
Hello I have succeeded to boot to TWRP recovery tool but i don't see the buttons
I see only ReadOnly, Language
and also Give permission modification
and I am afraid to brick my new Allure A55 Slim
For updated rom
This method is suitable for marshmallow OTA updated? Because it is impossible to make a backup of rom/data in the MTK Droid tool, as well as generate a scatter file.
Done. TWRP has been flashed, then rooted. The current scatter file can be generated from a ROM backup created by SPFlashTool, using the WwR_MTK software. And also cuting the ROM to img files for flashing, look at 4pda.ru, really powerful combine.

If you can make a backup and know how to use the recovery tools, then you can try. But I recommend trying a safer way first. With the Kingoroot application or AutoRoot Tools on this link https://qitapso.com/how-to-install-twrp-custom-recovery-on-blu-vivo-5-mini/ (works on Lollipop)
Hello.
I am attempting to root blu c4 (c050L), which has spreadtrum sc7731e board.
Kingroot from PC won't root the device.
While trying to port TWRP, I discovered I am unable to even pack / repack the original recovery.img
I can flash the original one, but after packing/repacking with Android Image kitchen by osmosis, I can no longer flash that file through spd research tool.
I also tried [Hovatek] Spreadtrum (SPD) Auto TWRP Recovery Porter V1.2 by Team Hovatek, but I can't flash the resulting img files, either.

recovery.img file, in case anybody can help me
Blu C4 is running oreo go 8.1
Stock Recovery says: "supported API:3 // 8.1.0/OPM2.171019.012/30512"
Fastboot doesn't support unlocking (already set oem unlock on developer settings)
So far
In order to flash modified boot.img and recovery.img, I had to switch the original fdl1-sign.bin and fdl2-sign.bin for ones I extracted from an A140 stock rom (another SC7731e device)
I attached them to this post
However, the boot is probably signed. You can read:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=65443271&postcount=844
In that case, a signing would be required - out of luck.
Any luck. I have the same unit and want to root it. Any kind of help will be appreciated.
Thanks
Kashutu
