Yes I noticed screen dimming Honor 9 same like on Honor 8, Honor 6X and now on Huawei P10 plus too. I think this feature for saving more battery. Interesting is dimming isn't all time sometimes work sometimes no

If you can wait, maybe this week the price of the nexus 5x will drop somewhere.
I think VR needs something above 1080p that Huawei currently does not have.
I think now Honor 7 hit the sweet spot at around 240~250€. All due to the new Honor 8.
Honor 7 is still a very capable device with expandable storage. It runs everything smoothly, except some games (not a gamer´s SOC, like any other Kirin SOC), excellent battery (until B190 ROM) and a dazzling camera when RAW enabled, just to name a few points. Also for those who don't like Emui, can install Nova Launcher.
Above this I would consider the Honor 8, OnePlus3 or ZTE Axon7.

VR is not good at 1080p, reviewers say that you can see pixels when using VR on fullHD devices

If camera is your priority then Honor. If Gyro is your priority, then Don't come to Honor 5X.
And if you can wait further, You can try Honor 6X.
Mostly it also won't have Gyro. But can use the Dual Camera setup.
Tested VR with my 5X. I can only see straight. Hahaha.
Sent from my honor 5X using XDA Labs
honor 5x is cheaper, and has micro sd card, but when it comes to development, nexus 5x is a clear shot,
but considering the price, honor 5x is a good deal

Mate 10 Screen Touch Latency

I don't see it anywhere ..... anyone knows the official number for the screen latency of the Mate 10 Pro/Non Pro?
In your experience how does it compare with other flag ships or to Mate 9??
Which one should be/is better? Pro or Non Pro screen as to latency?
Thanks :good:

Coming from mate 9 to mate 10 pro
I don't feel difference in touch frankly
Noting that in both phones i was activating gloves mode.
A little bit slower than the U11+ I've got here. Seems very bad when using Samsung browser, big touch delay sometimes

I think there's EIS support in Gcam app. Although not sure how well it works.

it crashes alot in non snapdragon devices. i can only click photos using gcam app on my honor 8 pro and nothing else.
It is not sure if EIS is present in the Honor 10, considering it has the same "AI 2.0" as in the Huawei P20 series. But giving AI based IS on a sub €500 phone would make the P20 series less marketable, considering they share the same market

yes i agree but i am pretty surprised by the fact that honor 8 pro had eis in both front and back camera but its succesors are not having. also huawei phones used to have double tap to wake earlier but they removed it. dont know why

From mate 10 lite to Mi 9t

little bit longer since i used my nova 2i (mate 10 lite), no wonder it is not easy to unlock bootloader and experiencing brick of the phone for about 2 mos, and using dc phoenix to fix again, and it quite bit to long to get full firmware, since my nova 2i became mate 10 lite from rne-l22 to rne-l21, until hurupdater released and now you can install firmware easily., installing custom rom is not that to complicated anymore. but i need to let go my mate 10 lite and switch to mi 9t, for it easy to customize rather than my mate 10 lite.
Share your experience of the mi 9t please, I am thinking of switching to that phone too. Would appreciate it

It simply amazing, overall review is great for this mid range killer phone. only downside, you cannot add extra storage because there is no sd card slot. but everything is great from Display, battery, camera, in screen fingerprint scanner and performance.

Upgrade to Android 10 or not?

I wan't to give my wife my old Mate 10 Pro because her Xiaomi Redmi Note 8T (or whatever) is a piece of crap. Huawei after 3 years have still better cam, speed and battery life.
I kept it on Emui 9 to keep root. Now I am thinking about upgrade to EMUI 10 and my question is is it worth it? Is camera app at least as good as in 9? Can you let me know your thoughts on EMUI 10? Thank you in advance.

try by yourself better Because some of users complained about the update because root not working,, you can't unlocked bootloader again,,, others complain about battery etc.. and others accepted... you can upgrade to EMUI 10 and use it for some times if you like it keep it,, if not you can downgrade to 9 again by hisuite,, for me i have mate 10 and I am ok with it smooth,, fast,, battery little better,, more options in settings,,
at last it depends on phone condition..
Stuck on Mate 9.1 on my BLA L29 C636. Tried HiSuite, HiCare region change but still cannot update to EMUI 10!
Did you have a method of upgrading?
[edit: used tunnelbear VPN along with hicare to set to Singapore and it updated]
