Is it possible to mod the mixer_paths.xml so that we can use the front earpiece like an speaker?
I would like to see some development on this as well

We've had that for long time now. Why are you bumping this 2017 thread?
android q exists now and the Pie mods don’t seem to do anything on it

"Dual Speaker Mode" mixer paths even changed from stock Nougat to stock Oreo to stock Pie. Each time it had to be done differently. You just need to find/change the mixer paths for "Android 10".
"Q" doesn't really exist, by the way. Q was the beta name for Android 10, like "N" prior to Nougat (Android 7), "O" prior to Oreo (Android 8) and "P" prior to Pie (Android 9). But when time came for Android 10 to be officially launched, instead of full dessert/sweet snack name, Google decided to jettison that naming scheme and go with numbering scheme. "Android 10" is the official name for the firmware that was ONLY called "Q" while in beta. AOSP ROMs are not using the beta version of Android 10, so calling it "Q" is misleading.

Hi there,
just wondering whether we finally got Android 7 for our device? According to these threads it should be the case:
https://xiaomininja.com/2017/02/11/...i-8-china-developer-rom-7-2-9-is-rolling-out/
https://www.getdroidtips.com/manually-update-redmi-note-2-miui-8-v7-2-9-android-nougat-2/
But I am currently using MIUI 8 Global 7.5.4 Beta which is still Android 5.0.2 - maybe this is due to not being developer ROM.
What I do not understand is the flashing guide from 2nd link: Do I have to install both versions? Recovery and Fastboot? And does anybody already have this ROM in use? Can it be just flashed over Global Weekly Beta?
Thanks for your responses!
Bye
have a try? Is it really Android version nougat?
@Renth You have to post this in original developer thread when it is just a noob question? It is completely fake news - don't post this crap here.
@jajk: Ok, then some mod will have to move this thread (or can I move it myself?). My knowledge also has been that there is no Android 6 resp.7 for RMN2. But why do you think it is fake?
Even MIUI Germany talks about it here.

We will not get Nougat or even Marshmallow officially ?
I admit the list is somewhat confusing since it also says:
Aktualisierte Geräte : ... Redmi Note 2 ...
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
=> Which means updatedd devices and:
Optimization - Android N update (02-20)

I admit it might mean that all listed devices got some updates but not all of them received Android N (was really suprised and could not believe it myself). Anyway I asked within the changelog thread.

What did you expect from a Budget category phone?
Redmi series are know only to get 1 android version upgrade.
Anyone flash it?
What Security Patch level is it on.
I will wait until xiaomi.eu release it.
And if xposed gets released for Nougat, I might consider using the Ported roms.

Poco had shipped on 8.0 OS. U want 6.0, really?
I don't think that's possible, as the device ships with Oreo. The vendor blobs are incompatible with anything lower.
WPS exists in Oreo, though, and there are plenty of third-party apps that can record calls.

Sr bro. Im not a developer. Just as you.
Why downgrading to Android 6? Xiaomi does not have Source codes and proper Vendors and other stuff to support Android 6, even Android 7. Pocophone F1 was built with Android 8 and cannot be downgraded. There is possibility to be downgraded but it need such time because of the missing vendors and stuff and why would a developer waste his/her time making a Android 6 custom rom for a Oreo based device?
There are workarounds though, just flash a custom rom. Some custom rom has call-recording feature.
But about WPS, couple months ago in a MIUI Forum, in the latest Oreo stable build, they removed WPS feature because it has many vulnerabilities than connecting using WPA2 PSK or other wifi configuration because it has better security. Maybe just move on WPS, manufacturers that makes WIFI removes WPS because it has poor security because it is pin-based code and can be brute force attack by someone in a matter of minutes.
Edit: Oh and Google did announced that they will remove WPS support on Android 9, link to that thread, https://www.xda-developers.com/wps-disappeared-android-p/
I know google remove wps for this reason i want Android 6.0
Someone port it and send please

I used Jett's Magical Method while trying to get Wifi on Q AOSP rom.
But L1 has been broken, I tried to back up to US998 Pie fw, kdz to stock but still L3.
Now I have to see Netflix on 540p resolution.
Anyway to fix it, any module to get L1 back? Big thanks for anyone helped me
I used patched Netflix apk on this forum, but some feature isn't avaiable, and a lot of film in Netflix doesn't have my language's caption (it has on original Netflix)
I'm using VS996 converted to US998
No.
I don't know what Wideline L3 means but refurbishing to Nougat always cleans things up when I break something too badly.

It seems to be a "fuse" type thing like Samsung Knox and once broken/tripped, no one -- even Devs -- have been able to restore it on the Telegram thread.

Sorry, pet peeve...
There are actually no Q ROMs, or if there are they are very outdated -- would be over a year old. Only Android 10. Q was the beta name for what became Android 10.
Android version Letters are ONLY beta and are always only beta. C, D, E, F, G, H, I, K, L, M, N,O, P Q were ONLY the beta version.
* Beta N became Nougat/Android 7.
* Beta O became Oreo/Android 8.
* Beta P became Pie/Android 9.
* Beta Q became Android 10.
When they graduate and get the full statue, they get a full name and no one ever uses the beta letter anymore because that would be silly.
Google decided not to give a full dessert name for Android 10 -- they gave only the number version. But that doesn't mean you still use the beta letter Q. Because it's NOT beta anymore.
There are long time rules for Android naming. Beta letter, then full name when it graduates and gets statue in the Google Android garden. In this case what was Q became Android 10. Like a caterpillar versus a butterfly. Call it *10* if you want, but Q is completely wrong. I don't care who else does it. They're just showing their ignorance.
