Hey All I been waiting for this phone to come out reminds me of my htc m8 days brings back lot of memories but anyway today I'm bringing my rooted htc fans a twrp back up file if you guys ever brick your phones here is a fresh install
It's about 3.43 GB so it's going to be a big file! make sure you are on WIFI or fast LTE JK
Thanks too @twinnfamous for making TWRP for all of us you a good man my friend!
How to make this work on twrp make sure you unzip the zip file then copy and paste into the twrp folder in your internal on your phone
then after that, you can do a restore from this backup and there you go your back to stock

Hi,
Just got my new note (at&t i7171) and proceeded to root it, I believe I used a root+CWM since I can hold down volume and power, let go of power at vib and it goes to a recovery screen...
Am I good to go as far as experimenting with new ROM's? Or do I need to install NANDroid or Rom Manager (*Rom manager does not even list my note as applicable)
I have DL and used Titanium Backup Pro and SMS backup, still seems like I should be able to backup my current ROM tho, any advice on an app for that? Or do I just need to DL the touch version from here and load it via Oden?
Thanks for any help!
Edit: After reading more I realize that I need my SD card to install CWM and as I am still waiting on my 64G SD card to show up from new egg, so I guess I'll have to wait to install CWM, I think what I was seeing is the stock restore. Oh well, I learned how to root it and about 20 other mods I need to perform so It was well worth researching! Awesome site btw, I look forward to learning more!
Ohh and any advice you can give as far as getting rid of bloatware etc would be very helpfull, sure seems like it could run faster....
Make sure you do a Nandroid backup From CWM before flashing any Roms and also Titanium backup.

You do not need an external sdcard to have cwm...i don't even have an external.
Just get an Odin flashable version of cwm...
Put in pda slot of Odin, out phone in download mode. Let them meet fall in love and do their thing, then you're good to go.
I'm partial to touch based cwm myself.
Just like cwm, but with touch screen navigation instead of volume and power button.

Thanks for the replys, got the touch CWM loaded, however it seems I will still need my SD card to make a backup, could not seem to direct it to USB storage.
Any advice for a favorite ROM? Looking for something minimalistic, just as fast as possible for internet and game use, my stock i171 seems completely full of bloatware
What do you mean?
Cwm> backup and restore> backup to internal sdcard...

If you have cwm installed correctly you can save your backup to your internal SD or external once you get it. Go to recovery then select back up it will back up to your internal card, same with a rom if you down load a rom from your phone the rom will be found on your internal SD card in download folder, flash it from there. We do not use rom manager, rom manager doesn't support our notes yet. I hope this helps. I would suggest watching a few YouTube videos on roms for the note just make sure everything you do is for the ATT version and not the other versions as a lot of people have flashed the wrong stuff for the wrong note. Hope this helps

Right, avoid Rom Manager.
Thanks for the help guys! I've been reading the forum for about 12 hours now, gotten most of my bloatware frozen and am now just waiting for my SD card to show up to start tinkering with my new toy
Man there is a ton of info here!
Hey guys,
I totally messed my device trying to flash a new ROM :crying:
I put the zip files on the external SDcard, booted on CWM 4.0.1.4 and select "install zip from SDCARD" but i wasn't able to see my files, even trying this with 2 different cards.
So I played with CWM but somehow i deleted all the files in the internal memory too :crying::crying::crying:
Actually I have download mode and ODIN working: am I still able to unbrick my device?
What's the best way?
Anyone?
I am without mobile since 3 days now, i just need to know if I have to buy a new one
Flash a stock rom in Odin. Get one from Samfirmware or AndroidFirmwares.net; which one ? Take your pick. Doesn't really matter if you're going back to a custom rom or restoring a backup when you've fixed it.
Then you can re-root your phone & restore a backup (if you have one) or flash whatever rom you want to use.
Thank you so much Mistah, it's working now, you really made my day!!! :victory:
I owe you a SGS2 (briked) haha
Good man You're welcome.

Ok so I had an old Note II and had a sweet insurance plan that got me a new one once i crack the screen, no questions asked, on this old phone i had already backed up my old rom and everything and was ready for my new phone. Now that I have it I thought "Okay all i need to do now is root it and unlock the bootloader." so i did with the "noyouverizon" program. When it was done doing its thing I tried to restore my phone to its previous state with the backup, or so i thought, I was in TWRP and I hit restore and navigated to the folder where the backup was saved and i got to the backup and I was able to just navigate into the folder and there was nothing in it. so I cant select the folder to use as a restore point and I'm not sure why. Any help would be appreciated. If you need me to elaborate on any details let me know.
Could be a different version of twrp. Just throwing that out there, good luck
I've been Nebulized, such a sweet taste with none of the smoke, and other bull$h|+.

Make a backup of one of the smaller partitions on the SD card. Go to the SD card and it should be TWRP>something something>date-Nand backup. Place your NAND backup from the other phone in the same folder where you just made the new nand backup. I had this same issue, and the simple fix was this. TWRP doesn't recognize if you make a folder or direct it to the backup, at least the version I was on. It only recognized my backup after TWRP had created the folder from a previous backup on that phone. Try it out.
Sorry about my last thread! I do develop ROMS but I'm still a noob lol.
Here is the remade description
IT is for Galaxy a500F Galaxy A5. Do not use on other devices. PLEASE BACKUP ALL DATA BECAUSE THIS DOES ACTUALLY ERASES ALL DATA ON THE PHONE SO BACKUP ON COMPUTER!!!
I will not be responsible for bricked devices or anything else
This ROM has touchwiz still in it but it debloated, deknoxed and odexed for performance! It runs on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop! If you want to develop it you may deodex it later!

I have got to say that this smells SO bull****! I mean come on, seriously!!
Why on earth do we need to extract anything to phone? Its the zip that does the magic anyways. And give even specific folder to the phone? It has got nothing to do with installation..
I smell shiat and viruses. Beware ppl.
Roms should be flashed via a zip not doing a system restore. @The_Merovingian
What's the XDA policy on installing other peoples ROM backups?
Sent from my SM-A500FU
DUDE I JUST SAID THAT THE FACTORY RESET HAS AN ISSUE!!! So you have to restore it for it to work. Do you understand now bro?
OK guys new installation rules coming up
Download an app called degoo backup
Then put type in the email: [email protected]
the password is:xdarocks
Then go to my files and select other then click download folder
password is xdarocks
Good luck guys!!!

I warned you with your last thread, you need to learn how to create a proper thread.
Hello my fella Developers.
lets do this again. i have the threat all typed up with details and closed it by an accident.
anyways
I have htc one max 8060-t6dug Chinese variant without OS. HTC-1
I had issues with this one, it came with bloatware and lots of it. some of it is pornographic. (got kids who play with my phone)
i decided to root, got the TWRP Recovery. flashed with latest SuperSU. got titanium pro (paid) to get rid of unwanted bloatware. i guess i missed out on something. as soon as i connect with wifi. it starts to download apps. and formatting doesnt help. so i thought maybe repeat the process. BUT in recovery i accidentally wiped system.
i have been through xda developers forums completely found some roms but dead links.
went though several other sites without any luck.
went though Chinese forums (Baidu i think) found some firmwares but TWRP gives me error trying to flash it.
i have tried to flash these with adb command, but mostly get remote not allowed error or space not allocated error.
came back to xda forums and found this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc...m-ruu-htc-one-max-809d-t6dwg-sense-5-t3006498
i know this is for t6dwg variant.
t6dwg and t6dug are both Chinese variants and dual sim. i have tried all roms listed on this thread. TWRP Flashed it fine but now when it boots up and gets to lock screen, when i unlock it it show HTC white screen and restarts after a min or so.
I went to the store and purchased another htc one max, same variant. HTC-2
i thought maybe make a nandroid back up and flash it to HTC-1
i repeated the steps and got HTC-2 rooted, latest TWRP, and made the back up. but i am unable to flash it into HTC-1
HTC-1 rooted with latest SuperSu, latest TWRP recovery, unlocked boothloader, s-off, cid-11111111
issues, NO OS!
http://picpaste.com/pics/htc1-l8ImCwQL.1462326306.jpg
HTC-2 rooted with latest SuperSu, latest TWRP recovery, unlocked boothloader, s-off, cid-11111111, boots perfect,
issues, bloatware
http://picpaste.com/pics/htc2-BrCDb5Tw.1462326402.jpg
lets not forget its been about a month since i am trying to figure this out without disturbing developers and wasting their time. this is my last resort
any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in Advance
Anyone out there to my rescue?
@waqas9240 So you made the backup with TWRP? Why not backup to an sdcard one the working one. Place the sdcard in the non-working one and do a restore.

@Flyhalf205! I know i can always count on you for this. yes i used TWRP to make the backup from the working htc and stored it on SD card. and pushed SD card on the non-working Htc but it doesnt recognize it in restore mood in TWRP. i can see the file in Install method that if it has been compressed, but it doesnt let me flash it.

Now if I remember correctly inside the TWRP folder will be another folder. The folder name could be the the serial. You'll have to get onto a computer and verify that the backup is in the correct folder inside the TWRP folder.
A good way to verify. On the non-working device, do a backup on just the boot to the sdcard. Then see if you can plug both devices into the computer at the same time to see the directory layout. Then you can copy the backup into the right folders.
Once you bring up TWRP on the non-working device. You should be able to select and swipe to restore perfectly.

thats what i thought at first. i confirmed the path on both phones. i even got to push the back up in the non working htc to restore from the root as it was located in the working htc max. still does the samething. the second folder after TWRP is serial number folder. i even renamed the serial number to the non working htc ( i dont know if that would have made a difference or not) but still running the same issue. i dont have both phones on me right now. they are at home. let me finish work and will try it again as you explained.
meanwhile if you can figure out something else that would be great bro!
Thanks
