My name is József from Hungary. I like to deal with programming android phone. But I am an unprofessional and I am beginner in it.
I would like to ask a question and to know what are opinion of professionals programmer, if it is possible......
So I have written a program about 4 years before for android with tcp socket. It is connecting a java server. It was written for android 4.2.1. Everything went well on 4.2.1 and android 5 (Lollipop). Than I bought a phone with nougat operation system. In this phone my program is running too and to receive datas from java server. But unfortunatelly there is a problem with data transfer. It seems that this phone do not send the datas in tcp socket to server. I try it more phones (Xiaomi RedMe Note 4, OnePlus 5T). I do not understand why. What I have to change in my program that it runs in my phone with nougat system What was changed in operation system in nougat?
It is my problem.......
I will be thankful if you give me some tips to solve it.

I was succes to find the mistake in my code. So I had to do a thread for part of my transmit code. That is all.

As many S/W co. required to license it's product to their user, many required you to have the Device ID to install. I know one of them is Mapping / GPS S/W; Destinator.
Other devices, this no. is included / reported under Device Information (Start > System > Device Information), but unique to this mdl. it is not listed (other HTC made products have it), so the Question is how do you find it?
I called the HTC Support (outsourced to India / Pakistan I think, all of my 3 calls answered by their accented tech supports), low level tech know nothing, even they don't know if such exist. After this call, I kept searching and accidentally stumble to Windows Update Icon in Settings and attempted to do the update. Unexpectedly, the update was completed w/o any, my system is up-to-date, I supposed, and in the log report through this process, there it is ... the Device ID no. is revealed.
I called HTC support again, and discuss this particular subject, as I expected, this 2nd low level tech support do not know anything too, just as the first. So, I asked to be connected to the supervisory tech support and was promised that he would call me back.
The supervisor tech support called approx. 45 min. later. Yes, as I expected, he insisted that no such thing in this device known as the Device ID, though I mentioned to every one (all 3 of them), that, such, existed in my other 10+ previous devices I owned and majority of them are made by HTC.
And, obviously we debated and they feel strongly that they know better ... hallooo ... they may do on other subject, but on this particular one ... ??? ??? ???
My point is: I sincerely hope that their (HTC team that developed the x7501) to include this information in their future update (either through ROM or Device Info) so we can use S/W that requires it.

So, for you that need this info, here is how:
Start > Settings > System > Windows Update ... and view / read the log after finish, in it you will find your unique Device ID and IMEI no. as well (the IMEI no. is also available through Device Information)

Forgot to mention:
You need to be connected to the Internet to get the update and produce the log!

As im trying to install tom-tom and activate maps and download maps and it is asking for my devise id
and it gives me an example : A1B2.....

i have just had an old t mobile pocket pc phone edition given to me and i was hopeing to upgrade the os. on mine under settings then system then about it says microsoft pocket pc ver 3.0.12039 (build 11178) 1996-2001
Processor: ARM SA1110 31.21 MB
i need to know what is possable for an os upgrade and any suggestions about software or hacks would be nice. i've ordered a 2 gig sd card and will have it in a few days. i do not currently have service on this device.

new problem
The first os was cool the one by xda, but then i cooked up one with the win2003 but i have to many redundent programs and a full system. i like the 2003 so i cooked up one "lite" rom for myself but when i go to flash i now get this..... error 011: EXECUTE THE REMOTE COMMUNICATION PROGRAM ERROR
Cannot execute the remote communication program.
Please make sure that the USB/Serial cable is properly conected.
active sync is working and syncing data fine what im i doing wrong?
p.s. i even tried to go back to the "special" rom but get same responce.

hey thanks for all the help so far! i've got 2003 loaded and want to mod it to look like iphone now is there a good way of doing this or should i continue to put to geather my own from parts of others work?
do a search for iphone skins in the forum there are tons!
and such skins are not taylor'd for specielt devices as a rule
most programs made for windows mobile work for all devices
better mods
i hate to be a bother but the best most complete iphone mods need wm5 or higher! is there a way to get this old wallaby up to wm5?
or should i just keep hacking togeather my own?

Hey guys I got a good rom in and got a mostly working iphone mod going too.
Now i would like to put this phone on my Cricket account and they say all they need is a esn # and hex#, do you know how i could get these #'s or do i need to flash the rom to something else to make it compatible with the cricket perpaid system?
it been a while guess this is not posable?
The wallaby is a gsm phone, cricket runs on cdma (sprints i believe, correct me if im wrong) they two networks are not compatible

Two days ago my contacts, tasks and last calls became inaccessibly (they are there because I backup them with 3rd party software), messages appear ok but instead of names just show the cellphone numbers.
I have been trying to fix that but it seems that I can't find a way to "chkdsk" the cellphone internal memory.
Also I wonder if its possible to upgrade/mod it (I would love to somehow install linux on it ehe), I'm a programmer but for enterprise management software so I have no idea how to do anything related with this "kind of stuff".

It's been like 10 years I didn't post anything on a help forum... Well, looks like this is the day I can't find the answer somewhere on the internet.
Some month ago (nov 2015) I tried to encrypt my Samsung S4 mini gt-i9195 while running CyanogenMod 13. Well, encryption fails on CM13 looks like this is a known fact but I didn't know at the time...
All I neede on that phone and which was not backed up since aug 2015 was the sms database. I don't really remember how but I managed to retrieve the mmssms.db file on a computer (probably thanks to TWRP).
Now, here is where it gets tricky : I can't open the database... I read that the DB is an sqlite one, so I opened it with DB Browser. First on linux, which didn't work as SQLcipher is not included at first with DB Browser (the error given was "invalid file format"). The simple way was to get on the windows machine and open the file there, with DB Browser as the windows version includes SQLcipher. When the software opens the DB is asks for a password (and assumes that the page size is 1024). And no one of the passwords I use works (nor the PIN code).
This is not a password problem I'm 100% sure of it, believe me (I'm a control freak with passwords).
As far as I remember, the phone didn't ask for a password but for a pattern. I believe the file is encrypted with a pattern but how can I transform a pattern into something alphanumeric ? Or, is there anything else I can do ? All I see right now is bruteforcing the DB for days... Maybe one of you here has an other solution ?

I have recently bought myself chuwi Hi10 per and now have some problems and hopes that you can help me. After I have uninstalled a virus scanner (on Windows), I have found out that a Systemdriver is absent. I have tried immediately new Windows 10 per version has to instal then, however, most hardware no more can be of use and could also ascertain no unknown devices in the device manager, therefore I could also postinstall no drivers. Besides, moreover, version was installed for some reasons only the Home by Windows. Moreover, by the installation all partitions were formatted therefore I also have no more Android. At the moment I have installed PhoenixOS, has there, however, no access to my USB connection. Whenever I in developer options the fashion USB to MTP change the settings fall. I would have installed with pleasure Windows and RemixOS or the normal Android that preloaded it was again on my device. I hope that you can help me.
P. S if in this text a lot of grammar or other mistakes are if I liked to apologise because I am, actually, a German and have translated whole by PONS
