Can anyone tell me where I can find unlocked firmware for my SM827V?
What is the main difference between 825 and 827?
Really all in trying to do is enable Samsung cloud backup since Verizon disabled it to push us to use their cloud service.
If there is an easier way then please let me know. Flashing the unlocked firmware to my Note 8 allowed me access to Samsung Cloud. I'm hoping for the same on my tab s3.

HI Guys as my name suggest i am not that great on technical.
I am buying my son a S6 Edge only on the condition that i install monitoring software on the phone so that i can access it at all times.
To utilise this software to capture all messages whats app etc the phone needs to be rooted and this is the only reason i need to root and will not be doing anything else to the phone.
I recently rooted a note 4 and had all sorts of issues however did manage to get it back to factory and resolve using Odin and flashing stock.
On the s6 EDGE there are a number of sites that say use pingpongroot or oneclickroot or Kingo Android root. Can anyone advise the best root for a S6 EDGE and any complications i may face later having rooted it.
Cheers
Gifford

just remeber knox counter gets tripped by the rooting.. so no samsung pay etc
You should say what android version are you using, as you can root and keep warranty on 5.0.2, but lose warranty on 5.1.1
I have what was a Verizon Samsung S4. After switching SIMS from my old LG Leon LTE, and some help from MetroPCS, it is now running on the MetroPCS (T-Mobile) network. The phone is currently at Android 5.0.1 (Lollipop).I would like to upgrade it to Marshmallow. My question: Should my questions here about custom ROMS be addressed to the Verizon Samsung S4 forum, since the stock rom has not been upgraded or customized, other than being rooted, or should my questions be directed to the T-Mobile Samsung S4 forum, since I'm on their network now, and an upgrade of my rom, still using their network, is what I wish to achieve. As the thread title denotes, this is an extreme Noob question, but I'd appreciate an answer. Thank you in advance.
You are gonna have to stick with the Verizon Galaxy S4 forums for your device. The firmware for the Verizon and T-Mobile variants are different and if you attempted to flash the wrong software you would likely end up with a bricked device. My best suggestion for you is to use your Google-Fu and search for everything you can find about using a Verizon Galaxy S4 on MetroPCS. There is a ton of good, useful information in the Verizon Galaxy S4 General forums and the Q & A Forums. Scroll through the stickies and read, read, read. This will give you the most relevant answers to your questions. Also, are you currently rooted? Do you have a custom recovery installed like CWM or TWRP?

Thank you so much for your reply. As noted in my post, "the stock rom has not been upgraded or customized, other than being rooted". I have done nothing to the phone aside from rooting it via Kingo Root, and getting MetroPCS to switch the IMEI from Verizon to MetroPCS. I guess my real question was: Am I now running a Verizon Samsung S4 on the T-Mobile (MetroPCS) network or, since I'm successfully on the T-Mobile (MetroPCS) network am I now running a T-Mobile (MetroPCS) Samsung S4? My hesitation is based on what you stated. I don't want to brick my phone based on loading the wrong carrier based ROM.

I don't want to waste Verizon guys time with T-Mobile (MetroPCS) questions, or vice-versa. Thanks again.

No problem. Hope I helped in at least some way. Good luck with your S4.

Hi,
I have a 920t Note 5 rooted and flashed with V11 of Darthstalkers rom.
Issue is; I need to use Bloomberg Professional but it seems as though the app is blocking my connection. I'm able to sign in on other rooted but non CFW devices but Bloomberg on my Note 5 never authenticates my login credentials.
Is there a way I can make the app think I have a stock rom?
Thanks
Anybody with the Unlocked Note 8 with AT&T have any luck with updates getting advanced calling features working as of yet?
I had to flash the AT&T firmware to get them working and now I can't get OTA updates anymore and sideloading is a huge pain.
Thinking about going back to stock Unlocked if the features are working now.

Does adding fota to apn work for ota....or just adding update.zip to SD and applying update in recovery..all better than sideload...sorry I know this doesn't answer the calling features though...

I've never tried adding the fota update to the apn. How do you do that? If that would keep from wiping I'd give that a try.
I posted a message on reddit too in the Galaxy s8 forum and nobody has gotten the advance calling features working for the unlocked version. I don't care staying with ATT I just dont want to have to wipe everything each time I update.

Try the guide here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-8/how-to/guide-enable-hotspot-t3675986
go to OP...If not available for ATT, putting update.zip on sd may be the best bet...You can add a new apn that is the same as your current apn but adds the fota and then select it as your apn if you can not edit it with the method above...

Another user just let me know that they got all features working on SM-N950U1 by calling AT&T and using a S8 active IMEI # that is not being used...all features work on unlocked software
Finally got my carrier unlocked to get all the AT&T features to work. I flashed the AT&T firmware but the important thing is to get the imei of an AT&T smartphone that nobody is using. Activate the SIM card with the imei of the AT&T device. Boom then ur unlocked carrier note 8 will have all the features. Right now my note 8 shows up as an Galaxy S8 active on there website.
I went through hours with AT&T customer service trying to get my imei whitelisted. They would give me the run around. Try the samething over and over again. Send me to level 3 tech to get my issue resolved. Say they will call me back to make sure everything is working and they would never call back. Save yourself some time and do what I did. By the way I didn't even call them to add the S8 active imei. I just chatted with them online and did that way. Screw AT&T they are *****es when it comes to this.
Sorry in advance if this is common knowledge. Semi-noob. I searched forums far and wide for past 3 days for this info.
Device: Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge SM-G935T (Snapdragon)
I have the latest Samsung/T-Mobile firmware installed (July 2019 update) with Binary 10.
In a nutshell:
From what I have gathered, Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge (T-Mobile) has a locked boot loader, which means that it CANNOT be rooted or modded (at this time). Is this entirely correct?
In detail:
I switched my phone service from T-Mobile to Safelink with the same phone and ported phone number. The warranty is expired, and I accept the risks. I want to get rid of T-Mobile bloatware on my unrooted device, and even install custom ROMs so that I can experiment with the possibility of better WiFi signal strength and other fun stuff. My phone is great, but it does not run as smoothly or fast as I would like it to.
Tutorial after tutorial has resulted in dead ends (SW Check Fail using Odin and download mode, Heimdall, etc.). The main issue seems to be that the binaries cannot be older than what I currently have installed, and I have the latest one, Binary 10.
It is my understanding that this cannot be navigated, unless I get off my butt and figure out how to exploit it myself. Is this correct?
If not, is there any way to get around this locked boot loader issue with the SM-G935T having the latest stock firmware (Binary 10)?
You guys rock.

I swear to god I've been strugling for solid 1 hour just to find a proper firmware binary 10 just like you. But it seems like worthless. If you find anything please help me *sob*
