Hi everyone!
I created this post in June 2017 to see when we would get Oreo for our Huawei P9 Plus. We still did not get what we wanted. At least Huawei stepped up their game and got very good in the security patch updates.
However, I am officially changing phones to the Oneplus 6.
The Huawei p9 Plus is still a great phone but I really hate the ultra slow updates. I WILL KEEP THIS PAGE UPDATED in the future because I will keep my Huawei P9 Plus as a secondary phone... for now. However, I will not check for updates everyday anymore so I will keep checking this forum and once some begin getting a new update, I will check my phone again and update this page.
Thank You
WINTERWOLF
UPDATE 24 MAY 2018:
We are indeed all on the May 2018 security patch now with build 385!
Now on: VIE-l09C432B385, Android 7.0 with EMUI 5.0.3, May 2018 security patch.
That's the reason I will search other brand(s) with regular OS updates. Shame for Huawei...

Couldn't agree more! Wished they are good at keeping the firmware updates at least for flagships just like what Xiaomi done to their flagships. Outdated firmware for flagships really makes me wondering why did i bought this phone at the first place (apart from great specifications and its camera)
I was very Happy with Huawei (hardware side)
Now i'm really disappointed
Huawei P9 Plus was my first Huawei Phone. When I purchased it somewhere August 2016, I feel very exciting of the quality of the phone. However, day after day, feel that Huawei very slow in release the phone firmware even Huawei P9 was one of their best selling phones. Huawei seems don't care of the software development and continue support of its phones.
What can we do? My next phone will not be Huawei.
I saw vie-l29c636b382 on firmware finder. anyone try yet?
I tried by using proxy method. Not working since the file not signed by Huawei yet. You can do it if you have rooted by using TWRP method.

i cannot install, coming from vie-l29c636b202. what version were you from?
VIE-L29C636B370 . You test "Check Firmware Access" in FF app first and see. Mine mentioned Firmware approved for installation model then only can install.

with all respect, it seems you have more infos if you know the difference between OTA and FF. Can you be more explicit ?

Firmware Finder provide a forced installation,
IMHO, this method differs from a regular update received via OTA (because you do not respect the scheduled update times).
I suspect a manual update may cause delays in subsequent updates

not really, through FF nothing is forced because there is no root or unbricked bootloader, all is about is availability of firmwares, on operating systems nothing is touched, updates are performed from OTA actually, it is just a trick per se .
anyway, back to our sheeps, i have buddies who got Oreo updates and were on B185 from FF, is not my situation but as somedody says before is like imei lottery

All true. With the term "forced" I mean that it is installed without respecting the timing established by Huawei for its IMEI code.
So... I hope to receive the update soon.

In FF B360c432 is approved for Install for L29
Hi All,
I'm having a bit of an issue. I updated from KangVIP 127 to 130, however upon doing so my mobile data is disabled, I reverted back to build 127 and it's still disabled. I tried searching for others with this issue or solutions and was having trouble finding anything of worth.
Entering the mobile network settings menu, immediately boots me back out to the main settings menu. I figure Ill likely have to do a backup and hard reflash, but I was hoping someone else had ideas.
What device? What version is your stock firmware? From what I experienced, KangVIP 130 needs stock firmware B135 for Mate 10 ALP-L29.
To get back to stock, just turn on OTA updates in KangVIP, connect to wifi, then download latest full firmware from Firmware Finder that's approved for your IMEI.

Using the OTA will revert you back to stock so root is gone but bootloader will stay unlocked.

Searching and downloading firmwares work, but updating via FF doesn't work now, Huawei locked this.
I am using Mate 10 ALP-L29C636 in Pakistan, my phone is stuck in Pie 9.0.0.228 and not received 9.1 version till now. Anyone using the same can confirm whether it's me or others have been updated to 9.1.
What can be the possible problem.
I am also from Pakistan and i have c185 variant, my current software ver is 9.1.0. 320. Don't know about c636.

Try hisuite, remove your SIM card and connect to pc and open hisuite.
Or change country in hicare to any country for example UAE or Singapore or UK and check for update.
I am from Egypt and have L29C636,9.1.321
I also think so. As @hamadazh said, download HiSuite from Huawei official website, and then try to upgrade for your Mate 10.
I have received the OTA updates once I changed my sim, don't know how but now I am on 9.1.0.321 build.
