Hello,
I maybe made some uneducated buying, I am in Germany and bought some LG V30+ H930DS, I guess it is Hong Kong Version as it is V11m-HKG-XX.
It is working just fine with German T-Mobile networks, everything like LTE and such. What is just buggering me, will I get any updates on that phone, like security patches or Oreo?
Also, when I enter LG Smart World, I got the attached selection of countries, I thought this might be doable for Germany, too, but I guess I was too optimistic
Would it help to get the Indian firmware version?
Thank you for your help! And no, I do not want to return the phone

He's from Denmark but I don't know which DS model he has -- Hong Kong or India. I suspect Hong Kong as that's easier to buy.

He's from Denmark but I don't know which DS model he has -- Hong Kong or India. I suspect Hong Kong as that's easier to buy over the internet. You can message him and ask. If Hong Kong then that proves he got update notification. M is the latest Nougat right now. US998 is still on C. Only South Korea carrier variants have Oreo.
I also have HKG H930DS version in UK with three and i've had 2 updates since purchasing it.

That sounds good, which updates did you get? I did not get any yet, but received the phone this Saturday with January patch preinstalled.
January is last patch that I received.
I also have the LG V30+, H930 ds, HK Version, ordered via UK. Since November I already got 2 updates OTA, but still no Oreo.
With the LG Suite I set HK as my location, but no further updates there.
So updates works also with HK Version.
I am also waiting for the Oreo update on the HK version, latest update was in January!
Also bought a H930DS imported from HK. I'm also on January software patch. I live in Denmark.
Anyone got voltE or WIFI calling working with the Hong Kong software version?
Also bought a H930DS imported from HK, also on January software patch and I live in Spain.
Let me join here . Another 930ds imported from HK back in November. I receive 2 ota updates since. Last security patch is the same (January). We will receive Oreo, I'm sure
Lg h930ds indian retail version got two security updates hope we get oreo update soon
Hi,
i want buy a Lg h930ds unlocked. There is the possibility that with Oreo update, the phone become yet locked (operator lock) ?
It will not lock to specific network, if you buy it unlocked. Or if you buy it locked and succeed to unlock it, no matter the updates, the phone will remain unlocked.
H930DS in Indonesia region has just received v10j update with march security patch.
Mine also from HK and no update yet, still on January update 7.1.2
Same here..
Hi , the same report from Czech republic , there is still nougat [emoji24]

Yes you will still get free updates after rebranding
I want to buy a Mate 10 from Aliexpress (I am in the UK). However, the phones they ship are not EU models, but Chinese models that they have loaded the ALP-L29 firmware on to. Will these be fine in the future when it comes to updates, or if I want to root my phone?
Thanks.

In the USA...nope.
Still nothing in Australia.
nothing here in Venezuela , still BLA-A09 8.0.0.110(C567)
Hi all,
I’ve been reading the forums here for a little while, gathering as much info as I could.
I thought I would collate as much information here as possible, so that its all in one place.
I would personally like to flash an international stock firmware to the Chinese Mate 10 pro or BLA-AL00 . From what I’ve read, I will need to install TWRP. I'm using a MacBook Pro, so i'm guessing ill need to also install the Android Debug Bridge.
Here are the details I've found so far.
BLA = Mate 10 Pro
ALP = Mate 10
LON = Mate 9 Pro
L09 = Single sim
L29 = Dual sim

Why Re-brand a phone
People may re-brand their phone as they way wish to try a different firmware, also some regions update their firmware quicker than others.
For rebranding Chinese AL00 you can see these threads.
AL00 Thread 01
AL00 Thread 02
AL00 Thread 03
AL00 Thread 04
Issue experienced with BLA-AL00
No location history in Google Maps
(more to be added)
Bootloader
For unlocking the boot loader one must contact Huawei to get the boot-loader unlock code.
Rebranding
Option 1
Go through FunkyHuawei, this will cost a minimum, of $51 per phone, you are expected to do this your self, and if you screw up your going to have to pay more cash out.
PROS's
Need more inforamtion
CON's
This can change your bootloader unlock code.
Possibility of still screwing the process up and having to pay more cash.
Need more information
I will keep updating this as and when I gather more information.

Hi all,
I moved this post to here after deciding i would buy the mate 10 pro instead of the p20 pro.
I,ve been reading the forums here for a little while, gathering as much info as incould.
I’m currently living in China, where I plan to buy a couple of Mate 10 pro’s, one for me and the other for the wife. The phones in China are locked down, with no google play, and installed with a whole bunch of local apps.
I would like to flash an international stock firmware to the phones. From what I’ve read, i will need to install TWRP. Im using a MacBook Pro, so im guessing ill need to also install the Android Debug Bridge.

Can anyone provide details on the C code?
Im pretty sure the Chinese phones i’m getting are dual sim, so L29.

For unlocking the boot loader I can get the codes from Huawei, which will allow me to install TWRP. Is this the correct route to go to apply the European firmware? Do I need to rebrand the phone, or can I just apply the firmware using this method?
Any help gratefully appreciated.

Personally I have no experience with rebranding but I do know that currently there is a lot going on with bricking this device. I refer to the post https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-10/how-to/discussion-hard-brick-infos-t3789044
Also, here's the experience of one of your countryman https://forum.xda-developers.com/ma...ash-oreo-update-package-t3716814/post76470250

Thanks for the advice!
Thanks for the advice guys, i’ve read through the issues others are having and it seems better to wait rather than risk bricking the phones.
I just cant justify paying an extra $65 to a company to do this work for me, kinda feels like they have a monopoly on the market. I think I’ll wait and see what the opensource community can do, I would rather donate to them instead. Kinda fits more with my way of thinking.
Also a big thank you to Coredown, who took the time to PM me a whole bunch of info.
