i'm trying to rebrand chinese version AL00 to international. what should i change to for fast and stable? us, europe, asia ... what version is better?
thanks
Asia international c636 is the fastest being updated...
I rebranded from c185 middle east to c636 with the guide from mankind's..
On c185 latest i got via ota was 119,but that was when I was in Kuwait.
As soon as I got home I didn't get any updates
because my mate 10 isn't being sold in Netherlands?
Hope there is coming soon a stable twrp for mate 10 and custom roms.
at the moment twrp doesn't work for mate 10 (touch problem)
Guys If I rebrand my single sim huawei mate 10 pro to dual sim using funky huawei tool will I still get free updates afterwards or I will have to pay for every single time when an update comes? Also with dual sim will my battery to be affected?

Yes you will still get free updates after rebranding

I have a European (C432) regular Mate 10 that I bought in Spain. I live in Ireland and have an Irish SIM card in it. Will I get OTA updates when they come out. I ask this question because a had a Mate 9 that came from Southeast Asia and I would only get OTA updates if I put a New Zealand sim card in it.
Has anyone from Europe bought the C432 version of the Mate 10 that was not available in their European country and got an OTA update? I am still on ALP-L09 8.0.0.115(C432)
Thanks for any help on this matter
I hope so, because Vodafone UK are giving out BLA-L09 C432 handsets. So sure.
Just a side question. Does the C432 version have Volte and wifi calling? Thanks!
Yes but that is different. If you live in the UK and buy the phone in the UK then you will definitely get updates. I bought the phone in Spain but live in Ireland with an Irish SIM
I am not 100% certain, but I think they only check the SIM card region with CUST number (C432 means Europe and C636 means Asia Pacific). I was able to update my Mate 9 Pro (C636) purchased from Singapore with a Hong Kong SIM card. Lastly, even if you never "receive" updates, Huawei will authenticate update packages on their server eventually, and you can just use Firmware Finder (a free app available at Play Store) to update. This is how I updated my Mate 9 Pro after I lost my old inactive Hong Kong SIM card.
Thanks for that. I downloaded it but cant find c432 anywhere on it.
Im using Mate 10 purchased in Singapore and using in Middle East sim, and i received the rom update the same time folks in Singapore received the update.
I'm also looking to buy a regular mate 10 for use in the UK but not sure where to buy from our which model/firmware I need to cover future use and updates. Any chance you can enlighten me? Don't want to buy and end up with features or updates that don't work.
I'm on build 115-C432 and still no OTA for me in France...Boring...
Same here Bulgaria :/
I'm a little confused on the differences. So from what I've seen, there are two models: ALP-AL00 (China) and ALP-L29 (international). Apparently there's also ALP-L09 but I don't know the differences from the other two.
Are there any hardware differences? Do any of them come with warranty (if so, where do I need to buy it to have warranty)? Does the international model come in the 6/128 GB configuration?
I plan on using it in the United States with T-Mobile.
L09 and L29 is usually just single and dual sim.
Otherwise they're identical.
Well, AL00 is the chinese model as you said.
The Mate 10 Pro has 6/128 gb (BLA-Lxx).
The Mate 10 has 6/64gb and 6/128gb versions

What's all this about rebranding I'm hearing about? Is there a firmware version I should aim for?

I'd pick C432 or C636. It's just because they usually get firmware faster.
I went from C432 to C636 recently, just to get firmware faster

No hardware differences between ALP-AL00 and ALP-L29? So if I bought ALP-AL00 and rebranded it to ALP-L29, would I lose the bands it purportedly has?
I want to buy a Mate 10 from Aliexpress (I am in the UK). However, the phones they ship are not EU models, but Chinese models that they have loaded the ALP-L29 firmware on to. Will these be fine in the future when it comes to updates, or if I want to root my phone?
Thanks.
Hi all,
I’ve been reading the forums here for a little while, gathering as much info as I could.
I thought I would collate as much information here as possible, so that its all in one place.
I would personally like to flash an international stock firmware to the Chinese Mate 10 pro or BLA-AL00 . From what I’ve read, I will need to install TWRP. I'm using a MacBook Pro, so i'm guessing ill need to also install the Android Debug Bridge.
Here are the details I've found so far.

Why Re-brand a phone
People may re-brand their phone as they way wish to try a different firmware, also some regions update their firmware quicker than others.
For rebranding Chinese AL00 you can see these threads.
AL00 Thread 01
AL00 Thread 02
AL00 Thread 03
AL00 Thread 04
Issue experienced with BLA-AL00
No location history in Google Maps
(more to be added)
Bootloader
For unlocking the boot loader one must contact Huawei to get the boot-loader unlock code.
Rebranding
Option 1
Go through FunkyHuawei, this will cost a minimum, of $51 per phone, you are expected to do this your self, and if you screw up your going to have to pay more cash out.
PROS's
Need more inforamtion
CON's
This can change your bootloader unlock code.
Possibility of still screwing the process up and having to pay more cash.
Need more information
I will keep updating this as and when I gather more information.

Hi all,
I moved this post to here after deciding i would buy the mate 10 pro instead of the p20 pro.
I,ve been reading the forums here for a little while, gathering as much info as incould.
I’m currently living in China, where I plan to buy a couple of Mate 10 pro’s, one for me and the other for the wife. The phones in China are locked down, with no google play, and installed with a whole bunch of local apps.
I would like to flash an international stock firmware to the phones. From what I’ve read, i will need to install TWRP. Im using a MacBook Pro, so im guessing ill need to also install the Android Debug Bridge.

Can anyone provide details on the C code?
Im pretty sure the Chinese phones i’m getting are dual sim, so L29.

For unlocking the boot loader I can get the codes from Huawei, which will allow me to install TWRP. Is this the correct route to go to apply the European firmware? Do I need to rebrand the phone, or can I just apply the firmware using this method?
Any help gratefully appreciated.

Personally I have no experience with rebranding but I do know that currently there is a lot going on with bricking this device. I refer to the post https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-10/how-to/discussion-hard-brick-infos-t3789044
Also, here's the experience of one of your countryman https://forum.xda-developers.com/ma...ash-oreo-update-package-t3716814/post76470250

Thanks for the advice!
Thanks for the advice guys, i’ve read through the issues others are having and it seems better to wait rather than risk bricking the phones.
I just cant justify paying an extra $65 to a company to do this work for me, kinda feels like they have a monopoly on the market. I think I’ll wait and see what the opensource community can do, I would rather donate to them instead. Kinda fits more with my way of thinking.
Also a big thank you to Coredown, who took the time to PM me a whole bunch of info.
how to rebrand Mate 20 pro from chinese version to asia version ?
Need it too
I would also be interested in rebranding as certain apps such as Google Photos (not uploading unless open) and Google Nest (no notifications) do not work properly even after adjusting the power and notification settings.
Would installing Kangvip help or...?
you may not do that .because the china version got software difference between other version flash that may cause serious problem for example the band support the system OTA
Wrong thread tho
I wante to know how to rebrand Mate 20 pro from asia version to chinese version .
funkyhuawei just posted on twitter they found the method to rebrand.....
